I may have ruined myself for sushi back in my home state of Wisconsin. Yeah, I know how that sounds.Literally, the sushi was amazing. Lightly seared fatty tuna, monk fish liver, sea urchin, mackerel... Freaking amazing?

I was given a recommendation to this place on a business trip, and it was a great find! Their daily specials menu had some great choices that are flown in daily. Quality of the sashimi was amazing, great choice of interesting rolls and saki options. I came for dinner twice in two nights...thats how good it was.In a small strip mall, but dont let that fool you. If Im in the Agoura Hills area again, you will find me at Sushi Raku.

This is the only legit sushi in this Kanan corridor. I’ve lived in the area for the past few years, and I’ve tried all the spots (trust). This is the spot if you value super fresh fish and if you know sushi.

This is a top-notch sushi restaurant - sushi is incredibly fresh and the flavors are perfectly balanced. We had the Avalanche roll and it was sublime. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi and other Japanese delicacies. The service is wonderful with attentive and friendly staff who are ready to answer any questions you have or help you make the perfect selection! If you are a fan of sushi - you must check out this incredible restaurant!

Great sushi in an unassuming strip mall setting. We had the salmon belly, salmon, and toro - all were buttery with that melt in your mouth perfection.Staff are very friendly, good parking, and the prices aren’t over the top.

Once in a while you stumble upon something special and unexpected. My daughter and I went to Calabasas to try a sushi restaurant recommended by a friend. There was a two hour wait...so we decided to give up and go home to Agoura Hills. There are a few sushi restaurants around here and weve tried several. Theyre pretty so-so, with medium grade sushi that for the most part, tends to be a bit chewy. There was one, however, we didnt bother with as it was in a mini mall next to the Shell station and didnt look promising. After a recommendation for Sushi Raku from the same friend, we thought wed give it a go. We couldnt have been more pleasantly surprised. The sushi was of Nobu grade! It all melted in your mouth and was clearly created with love, pride and incredible skill and artistry. It was ALL delicious! A small, unassuming restaurant, the staff are very friendly and the sushi fantastic! Its not cheap, but then when youre eating this grade sushi, prepared so beautifully...you wouldnt expect it to be. We cant wait to go back!

I was never that big of a sushi lover until i visited Sushi Raku. I went here with my girlfriend surprisingly because we were looking for any sushi place to go to. Luckily it was a good choice because the service as well as the food are amazing. I always get the various sushi rolls and rice as they arent that expensive. The whole setup and vibe of the restaurant is a homey feel, with calming music and a pleasing aesthetic. Reccomend it because it doesnt feel like a large business atmosphere. It is more personal

Mediocre sushi and terrible service.I ordered take-out and they said to come in 35-45 min…I came after 50 and I had to wait another 27 min for my order. Part of the order was ready when I got there…and it sat on the counter for 27 minutes while I waited for the rest. YUCK!!When I got home, nothing was labeled and ALL the rolls were squished in boxes with other rolls - a NIGHTMARE for people with allergies. It took us about 10 minutes to figure out what everything is and In the end they completely forgot 5 of 15 rolls. When we called to ask for a refund for the missing rolls the manager LAUGHED at us and said we could come back and get the items they forgot. At this point our kids were starving and falling to pieces…what a mess.A proper manager should have given us a complete refund and apologized profusely for our meal being ruined. Last time we ordered here two years ago they bungled our order just as bad, too. Honestly, most of their specialty rolls are 90% crabmeat and sauces anyway…so next time I think we’ll go for something nicer and head to the super market for sushi.

Even though this place is off the coast it tastes like its there. The food is great! The rice is fluffy, the fish is fresh, the sauces are tasty. If youre a shellfish fan (crab and shrimp) I suggest an off menu roll claled the Judy Roll. Want eel? Their dragon or caterpillar roll are delicious. They also have a lot of sides and hot plate as well as noodles.

Sushi was great and ambiance was good, but service left much to be desired. A tag team of waiters took care of us but forgot to bring out our octopus salad. Brought this to their attention but asked to drop the salad as the sushi was already out. Then enjoyed their wonderful Avalanche roll and asked for the check. Check still had the salad on it but was missing another item that had been ordered. I brought this to waiter As attention and he amended the check. Not a single apology throughout.

There are a lot of sushi places in the area, but this is the one I go to the most because it has been consistently good at a reasonable price for sushi.

Generally have a positive experience ordering via DoorDash, until last night. Last night placed a large order via DoorDash and then called the restaurant to add 2 additional rolls that werent on the menu and the person who answered (young woman) took the order and confirmed it would be added to the original order. The order arrived 50 mins later without the additional 2 rolls. We then called back, the same young woman answering the phone, asking about the 2 additional rolls, barely apologized for the 2 missing rolls (which meant someone didnt have their meal) and said they would send them. They never came nor did the restaurant call to let us know. Unacceptable service.

Sushi is pretty average, not too fresh, pretty average. They offer both the sushi menu and a restaurant menu. The decor and atmosphere is quite nice, but the quality of the service tends to fluctuate. On some days, the sushi chef and waitress are fast and congenial, on other days they take forever to do basic things like provide you with the check.As of 7/17/2013, the service on Wednesday appears to be the best.

Bad service!! I was there trying to place an order. 5 different people walked by me and didn’t say anything. A simple “have you been helped yet?” or “we’ll be right with you” would of been fine. After 12mins of waiting for someone to greet me and another customer waiting to pick up an order I decided that l would take my money to another restaurant. There’s plenty of better options nearby Sushi Q in Westlake, Sushi And Wasabi and Sushi Su in Agoura.

This is one of the best places we have had for Sushi. They do the Sushi right. Large pieces of Fresh fish draped over rice rather than the small pieces. For the people who have had a bad experience, well that will happen at any place you go and many times it may be the attitude that you have. As far as the menu size...We ask the sushi chef to make us something special or even tell him something to make and they make it no problem. Give this place a try, it will be a good choice.

Had a really bad experience with the waiter (who is apparently also the manager) who argued with us repeatedly over a bowl of garlic edamame. His petty behavior surprised us as he was very unpleasant and argued with us. He implied we were lying over and over as if we were there to haggle over a damn bowl of edamame!This is unfortunate because we have ordered here a few times in the past and will not be coming back. Anyone considering dining here, go right ahead if you want a few hours of your life ruined by the manager.

For credibility, Ive been to Hawaii and Japan multiple times and ate sushi the entire time.This sushi restaurant is the best quality fish in the area and Ive eaten at almost every sushi restaurant from Ventura to woodland hills. I highly recommend this place.

This place is one of if not the best sushi places Ive ever been to. Granted I havent been to many since this place is so great. I have met coutless people from the valley ( San Fernando Valley) and LA at this resturant that come all the way here just to have the amazing sushi they serve at this place. We always sit at the sushi bar and I really dont understand why you wouldnt (unless your lame) thats the whole experience. The quality of the fish is great, ambieance is great, saki and beer selection is great! I am not going to say the servers are too notch, but they get yoy what you need and the sushi chefs at the bar are usually very on top of what you need and when.

The hype is real. This place is simple, fresh, unique and straight up delicious. Highlights are the blue crab and bay scallop. The iced green tea is refreshing and they happily pour you free refills, even as youre walking out.

This place really does have the best spicy tuna anywhere, and they are NOT stingy about it. Our FAVORITE roll on this earth is the SUNSHINE ROLL where crabmeat is encased in seaweed, which has rice outside of that. Salmon slices are placed on the outside of each slice of the roll, so its around the rice, and then, the piece de resistance, a huge dollop of spicy tuna is placed on top of each piece
