This has been my favorite sushi spot in LA ever since they opened in 2017.Their rolls are simple and incredibly tasty, I love bringing people here for sushi. Any sushi on the menu will be top grade. All of the cooked food have a unique spin that creates the chef’s signature. It’s seriously so good. I went here once for omakaze Valentine’s Day and ate like a king! Such a fun experience. My favorite moment though was tonight when the waitress said that I left my jacket here in June, and brought it out to me!!! I had stopped for some comfort food while my boyfriend was in the hospital and didn’t realize I left it. I’ve been looking everywhere for it. Such incredibly nice and wonderful people work here!

It is a newer place and a pleasant surprise. The sushi chef can go toe to toe with any on Ventura. Fresh seafood. Solid selection of fish. Fresh water eel is a speciality. The chef s skills make the most difference. Attentive and friendly service. Will definitely go back again.

Great food! I love the variety of sushi especially the baked salmon and the Mex-Cal rolls, and I love the recommendation of the short ribs!

What a fantastic sushi bar. This is my third or fourth time here in the last year or so.We normally have omakase which is chefs choice . The chef will orchestrate the meal with attention paid to the order of which fish is served and how it is prepared. This way a stronger flavor will not overpower a more mild one. Reservations for this are highly suggested.I highly look forward to my next visit

Service was on slower side. However the staff was friendly and place is clean. (Parking in rear)Price is extremely reasonable. The plates have more #izakaya vibes than traditional sushi place.oddly Squid (days special) was cooked. Ankimo has white miso paste on (but it was good). Ikura was good but I was just not found of Seaweed they used.Recommended:Chicken heart (if you like chicken bears, that is)Shishito pepperClam soup

The sushi here is great and the happy hour has some great deals. $1 Sapporo and $1 sake is tough to beat. That being said, the portions are a bit small so things add up quick. Also, I wish they more selections of the typical sushi rolls you find around town, the menu is a bit small.

A little neighborhood gem: Sazanami offers good quality and authentic sushi at a reasonable price. All the dishes were tasty and the servers were very friendly. At the counter, omakase only.

We came here on a Saturday night at 7:00 pm for our first time. There were a total of two people in the entire place. I walked in excited to try. The place is very nice and clean inside, good design and ambiance.I went to the bathroom to wash my hands, NO hand soap but the bathroom was clean.Went back to my seat and we ordered. The sushi chef was a very nice guy, very friendly and talkative to us. We had a good conversation going until the rude waitress came over and said only talk to her. Both of us and the sushi chef looked at her like she was nuts. The waitress was horrible. The sushi was somewhat good, however completely OVERPRICED!! $7/$8/$9 for two pieces of sushi. If the prices were fair I probably would have overlooked the rude waitress, or maybe not but the prices for sushi here is outrageously expensive. I can see why the place was completely empty during prime time on a Saturday night. The sushi quality was good but Ive had the same good and better at many sushi places in LA for $4/$5/$6 for two pieces of sushi with much friendlier waitresses.Sushi: 1 salmon, 1 yellowtail, 1 albacore,1 mackerel. Hot Food: 1 shrimp tempura appetizer, 2 pork belly appetizers.Drinks: Tap water. Bill amount: $75 w/tip.We would have eaten five times the amount of food we ordered here if it wasnt for their insane prices. We didnt want to spend $300 to be full so we left HUNGRY, then went next door and ate pizza at Ginos.I will probably never come back here again based on how overpriced everything is.Note to Sushi Sanzanami: Bring your prices down significantly without sacrificing sushi and food quality. People will not walk out the door feeling ripped off and they will come back. Fire the rude waitress.
