Incredible Japanese counter dining experience, with only capacity for 9 people, and the chance to watch this chef’s creative artistry up close! Fine selection of Japanese rice wine and other treats. It’s expensive, AND worth it if you’re looking for a mini-vacation to Japan without leaving home. Worth the money!!

What an incredible meal. This was excellent!I highly recommend dining at Sushi Shin. Its a small restaurant and seats only 9 people which made the experience even more unique. Each piece of fish and dish in general was tasty and there truly isnt anything I can find to critize about our dinner experience.

The food is of high quality and deserves 1 star michelin. It is a bit pricy considering the OK service and somewhat mediocre decor. They are planning on remodeling late this year.

• A note on grades, I rate outwards from three stars. *TL:DR If you can get a reservation, this is a dominant sushi-ya in the Bay Area.We went for an early seating mid week given the aggressive reservation architecture.Thank goodness my friend persevered. The only dinner on offer is the 21 course omakase experience. You will not be disappointed. The intimacy of this nine-seat establishment encourages interaction with Chef and other guests. It was enjoyable to have guests with different experience in this type of dining at the same dinner party.Highlights of the seasonal menu were two types of Hokkaido uni, marinated monkfish liver, and the black throat perch.

You could walk by this place a dozen times before seeing it. It’s just a small nondescript storefront with seating for 10 around a sushi chef that puts on a show and excellent meal. We had a nice date night here. The sushi is very unique and I had a number of things I’ve never tasted before (eg monkfish liver). The fish were great and they mixed it up with a few hot/cooked dishes as well, wrapping it up with a sesame pudding for dessert. Overall more filling than many omakase but not too much so.

I have been there 4 times this year. I would say its one of the best Omakase in the bay area. Sushi Shin is authentic and delicious in every way. The service was impeccable and attentive!!

A great place to experience omakase without driving all the way to SF. It is a very small restaurant with bar seating only. The chef provided information regarding each dish before serving them, which I really appreciated. Ingredients seemed fresh and seasonal, so their menu will likely change depending on the season. There was a construction happening next door, and their noise was getting loud. The chef himself (?!) went next door and fixed the issue before it got too disruptive.

Such a great place to slow down, relax, savor, and appreciate.Chef Jason has more than a decade of experience. He will bring you the best seafood of the season from all around the world with the highest quality. Everything in the restaurant was carefully picked by the chef from the fish to the rice to the spoon. The food was flavorful and beautiful. We also learned about the life of the fish, where they live, what they eat, how to best prepare and serve. We enjoyed the fun conversation and had an amazing time. Thank you Chef Jason!
