Nice little hybrid revolving sushi joint. The reason I say “hybrid” is because it’s not full revolving. You can also order from the menu and there aren’t a lot of options on the conveyor belt. Still, the sushi was very fresh and the rolls were tasty. The sushi chef is super friendly and offers suggestions if you ask. The waiting staff is also very nice and accommodating.

The atmosphere has an old school vibe with a conveyor belt twist which is actually quite special.Although, there are no sneeze covers on the stuff thats circulating around the belt, which might not appeal to some peopleThe service is good but the sushi is mediocre.

Service was fantastic. This was our first time going to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It wasnt the best sushi we have ever had, but everything we ate was very good. 3 of us ate our fill for $120, including the tip. We did not have any alcohol which would have increased the price. The atmosphere is very cool. This has been here for a long time and they have hundreds of Polaroids on the walls of customers.

First impressions walking in was busy & inviting. The atmosphere was traditional & very lively especially with the pictures on the wall of all the people before. Im not trying to be so critical but everything was nauseating. The miso soup taste like old sink tofu water, the seaweed was the only saving grace... The calamari had a Small black hair in it smh. Moving on to the sushi the shrimp tempura & the California rolls both same issue rice overcooked ruined the good fish. The combos plates, the salad still leaking water.. then to the frozen overcooked steak, && overcooked fish & yep you guessed it overcooked steamed rice.Then to top it off they charged me $15.99 for a single peach soju 😂. Thats what I paid for a single combo meal! This place is pure comedy at this point. Heavily disappointed, save your money go anywhere but here.

Conveyor belt sushi! Pretty good quality and packed at nights! You can also opt to dine in too. Try to get here for an early dinner (around 5) to have a chance otherwise youll wait for a long while. Also, try to Oyster Shooters! Salty and slightly sweet thats a fun way to start the meal!!

I came to this joint during my recent visit to LA; It was an online order for pickup. Upon arrival there was a short line outside waiting for seating but they were promptly seated before I entered the building. This place was bustling. Busy busy and every seat taken. Im kind of disappointed I didnt order for dine in, oh well. Despite the crowd my order was ready on time.I ordered the spider roll, lexus roll, and an order of ikura. Everything was immaculate and delicious. The rice of the sushi was especially notable but lets not discredit the freshness of the fish and the excellent texture of the soft shell crab. A solid spot in my opinion and a second visit will have to be had to try out some other options.

Decided tonight we should try something out of the norm and ended up ordering some sushi. Still relatively new to Gardena, we wanted to support local business and hit up Sushi Sumo. We were amazed by the quality of the food considering the cost co spidering all we ordered. Most of places I go the order showcased in the photos would of been closer to $100. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely will hit up this spot again.

Labor Days schedule was like the weekend -- Open at 5pm. We arrived around 4:30 thinking the opening time was 4:30 for some reason. Put our name on the list, but as soon as they opened, they had room for everybody either at the bar or a table. We chose a table this time because we wanted our food to come out slower, so we could hopefully get hungrier. My wife and I each had a roll and I had a salad, and we got one roll to go for our daughter. Food and service was very good. My salad took awhile to come out though, despite the table next to us ordering after us and getting their salad way before us. All in all it was a good experience.

This place is awesome. The rotating sushi bar is worth the wait. The foods great and the staff is awesome. They Interact with the people and make it a fun evening. The hot night is my favorite so far. The big dog and Jessica Alba roles are excellent. I recommend you come hungry as you will want to try everything that passes by you. Order a saki bomb its worth it.

Ordered there today. Very unhappy with amount of ingredients. On the menu they promise all eel and soft shell crab, in reality (see the picture) sushi’s filled with cheap imitation crab. Instead of the slice of eel I had skin and a bit of meat on it. I’m not gonna come back. Btw beef teriyaki is dry, wouldn’t recommend.

My took me hear to eat my first time. My son loves sushi he eats all the stuff they make. I am not into sushi at all. I had teriyaki chicken dinner soup n salad. Appetizer tempura shrimp n2 veggies. I frequent sushi sumo, whether it’s with family or friends. I always know the vibe is going to be energetic & fun, and the food is going to be amazing! My go to’s are the baked salmon rolls, Las Vegas rolls, jalapeño bomb, and a glass of plum wine! Their hours are split during the day, so be sure to double check before you head in!

If you know about sushi dont go here. Ive been here a couple of times after drinking . This time I went during dinner hours . Not good! Yes they were busy but we waited a long time just to be asked for drinks. The waiter poor thing he got our appetizer wrong and part of our oder, I didnt send it back because I didnt want him to get in trouble. Lets get to the sushi part. I order one of my favorites crispy roll absolutely wrong i had to send it back it wasnt crispy it was hard. How you mess up a California roll? Also baked scallops suck way to much creams and sauces cant even see what your eating. I think this place is just the reputation service and food have gone down .I dont know if its post covid people are trying to cut corners and save every penny, but it shouldnt be that way with food . My bill was 100 dollars and I didnt enjoy a single thing I ordered. I ordered a 2noodle soups too and I have to wait ask for a soup spoon and had to wait additionally for that too. . Rice was so sticky that the roll was stuck in the plate. Nothing memorable about this place. Will not go back.

I love the sushi here wish I can put more stars but the only problem its the customer service. We used to go once a week pre covid time and we were always ignored. We have noticed if youre not buying the chef beer or drinking beer yourself they ignore you. We ask for Steve roll last time we were there and they totally ignored us again but customers that came after us were serve everything they wanted. We dont feel like ever going back anymore because of that. We are paying customers and always felt so ignored there.

First time here i like the small portions at a decent price, this allows you to try different rolls and not feel extremely full. Good amount of rice to fish ratio. The employees are very pleasant and helpful when it comes to their menu options. Fun and entertaining place to go for sushi. They love celebrating your birthday with you. The quality of sushi is decent, but go more so for the ambiance. The chefs are fun, especially Sexy Eddie, when given shots of sake! Sushi bar gets packed on the weekends, so I suggest going early and carpooling, as finding a parking space is difficult.

Been coming to this place for years, the sushi is, the sushi bar is the happening place, the prices have gotten a little high (the fancy 4 piece cut sushi is now 5$ a plate) but it is not bad. It is a great conveyor belt experience. Great staff including the chefs, and if you are in the mood for a sake bomb, theyll happily turn on the strobe light and do one with you! Sushi is tasty but dont expect the finest sashimi this side of the Pacific. Enjoy americanized rolls and dont be afraid to order something specific if what is on the belt doesnt strike your fancy.

This restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. They lie and mislead their customers with their items.On their menu on UBER eats, they have an item with this description,EGG ROLLS“eight pieces, vegetables inside a flour skin deep fried with sauce.” $6.50I ordered it believing it’s 8 egg rolls. What I got was 4 egg rolls with 3 of them cut in half.I called the restaurant and customer service said that they literally mean only 8 pieces as in CUT pieces. Which I think it’s a bunch of BS.So they sent 4 egg rolls cut in half to make it 8 omfg.The guy who I talked to was rude and said, “well I’m sorry but we have been selling them like that for years” he also said I was wrong for believing they meant, 8 egg rolls.I do not recommend this restaurant, their food wasn’t that good either and they are thief’s.

I love this place for many reasons the top one being the sushi is always made fresh and right before your eyes. If you choose to sit on the high chairs where the conveyor belt is you can see the chefs making the sushi in front of you. You can choose what they place on the belt or get a customized roll order from the many options they have on the menu. If youre a drinker ask for a sake bomb and you wont be disappointed. They put on a cool little show when you order one. Sexy Eddy is the funniest guy there so make sure you say hi to him. I love sushi sumo and Im definitely a regular.

The only bad experience at this place was when a waitress ran out to the parking lot and asked my friend why didnt he leave a tip (with attitude)... So he told her because she didnt assist us we had to get up and get our own drinks and she really didnt ask if we were fine... But besides that I love this place I go atleast once every 2 weeks the chefs are awesome and nice the new waitresses are nice and attentive to your needs. Place is like a fresher buffet. Assembly line sushu takes all the joy away from sushi. Being a sushi chef is an art form but when you shell out quck sushi like fast food you degrade the art. Now the prices are high dont let the half roles fool you. Your paying a premium for limited options and almost no service. The place is almost like a buffet so the waiters dont really need to wait on you. But it was my first time there and the didnt sit me down, explain the process or have any real level of service. This review is only for the revolving sushi. The wasabi and ginger rotate in bins, you are supposed serve your self but I saw peoples finger stiking into the bins touching the rest of the ginger and wasabi when they grabbed them.The sushi on the belt was subpar and the selection choices was basic, it lacked variety.

Pricey revolving sushi joint and kind of dingy. You have to keep all your plates where you sit so they know how much to charge you. Plus the revolving sushi belt area is a rectangular all barstool seating setup, meaning you sit next to your date while you sit across from 12 other people facing you and 6 people on the left and right side of the rectangle. Revolving belt is kind of beat up.
