I am not a fan of sushi, but my daughter wanted to try it for the first time. We tried the fried rolls. They were California rolls with a mixture of other rolls. Some had shrimp and tuna. The tuna were amazing!! Kinda tasted like pepperoni lol. I actually want to come back even though I’m not a fan of sushi.

I had never been big on sushi before this place. I usually went for katsu if my family wanted sushi. I can now say Im a regular here and its one of my favorite places. Food is fresh, always flavorful, and great friendly service every time. Rainbow roll, baked shrimp, baked salmon, are all great, but for me their Twin Dragon roll is the best. Highly recommend it. Very unassuming location and price is comparable with other sushi restaurants. Youll always be greeted with a smile here.

Overpriced food that is not fresh I got spicy tuna and salmon roll... Salmon had a weird smell to it and did not look fresh at all.... I spent like over $30 on this food. It didnt get me full at all either.

Wow! Fantastic food, attentive service, and a great value! Im totally winning right now!I have been to *many* inexpensive sushi places, and until now, Ive been mostly disappointed. Not tonight!I got the large sushi combo, and the fish slices were beyond generous, and melt-in-your-mouth fresh!I wish Id taken a picture before devouring it all, but it was so delicious it was gone before I thought to do so.Even the spicy tuna roll blew me away, as it was super fresh and spiced just right.Thank you for such a wonderful experience! Ill be back for sure next time Im in town!

Lunch took too long to make which was simple salmon rolls and a lunch teriyaki plate. They had no lemon for my salmon rolls 😓 what kind of place doesn’t have lemon for sushi. I’ve been eating sushi my whole life and have never had this issue at this point I don’t know if the lady was just too lazy to get me some. 😕

Small couple owned sushi shop.Decent all around, nothing special.Friendly service.Food was fine, prices normal.Large convenient parking lot.I would support this family owned business if I was looking for a regular meal in the area.

***Update 04/30/2023***Still love going here! The food is still good, the pricing is still truly affordable, and the service is still prompt/polite and very friendly. Will continue to be a patron of this establishment 💯Absolutely love this place!! The owners are always so kind. The prices and quantity of food are perfect. Such a hospitable place with friendly staff and wonderful food. I always come back here time after time.

This place was horrible! Customer service here was non existent! Lady at the cash register stuck her finger in her nose! 🤢 I’m disgusted. I have no idea how anyone likes this place. Tables were filthy. They felt sticky. Albacore Tuna felt like cardboard. THIS PLACE IS A BIG FAT NO for me.

After trying multiple sushi spots this place stands out above the rest. Great customer service and the food is so good and good prices. The miso soup was fantastic, I ordered the crunch combo and it was amazing. My daughter ordered the teriyaki bento box and she loved it.. Over all this place earned my 5 stars. We will be going back.

This is a good place! Its kind of tiny and they dont have a bar to sit at. Those are my only complaints. Still, the food is great and the hospitality is outstanding. Plus, surprisingly cheap! Give these folks a try.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl on my lunch break and it took a very long time to be prepared. Im a teacher on an exact schedule so I wont be going ever again on my lunch break. The taste was ok. They put a lot of teriyaki sauce on the top of the bowl; too much for my liking.

Wow....based on reviews my family and I decided to try this place, portions for large shrimp tempura roll was very generous and tasty. The jalapeno roll was amazing...soup was simple and delicious...scallop hand roll was large and full of flavor ...Im from Bakersfield but will go out of my way to return asap if Im in the area..service was good nice and friendly...price was excellent!!!

They are so friendly!! Extremely positive experience just with the service, and the sushi was great too and very cheap! Also, they are the only place that gave us free miso soup with our takeout order of sushi! Very classy

Love this place. Best priced place in town. Healthy, tasty, well priced, friendly, clean and quick. Something for every picky eater in my family. I usually get the lunch special which comes with 2 items, rice, salad & miso. This is my 1st ever review on google. You guys deserve it.

Ive been enjoying the delightful staff, fresh, fast and reasonably priced food here since they opened. The sushi and teriyaki is good, the menu has lots to choose from for non sushi leaders as well. Try the udon soup on a cold day with a fresh sushi roll.I always get a warm bow and greeting from the chef. His family is pleasant and friendly as well. They make sure your order is served quickly and packaged with great care if its take out. They go out of their way to make you happy. I highly recommend Sushi Umi.
