They have the best sashimi in the city and their salmon sashimi with cilantro sauce is a must try!We visited this place almost 5 years ago and then again this year and it just becomes better.Service is top notch and makes your dining experience seamless even if your not a pro sushi eater and its difficult for you to choose smth from the menu.

The Sushis taste was great but in Compre the other sushi restaurants the portions were smaller and the price was slightly higher. However, what puzzled me was charging for ginger and soy sauce that I had never seen in the other sushi restaurants, and may be this is the only weakness in the management decision.

I’ve been to some of the best sushi spots in the city and this is my favorite of all of them. Deep fried yellowtail collar is irresistible and the sushi is always fresh and served at the perfect temperature. Chefs are great ppl too! Gets busy so plan accordingly

Sometimes you go to a place and walk out knowing you had something special. This is what I feel everytime I leave here. We all have a couple of sushi places that we frequent but this is the place if you want sushi elevated. Yes a little more expensive but worth it. Lemon roll is my absolute favorite! Combination of the garlic oil ponzu and lemon is amazing! Also tried something new this past visit, Uni shooter! Yum Yum.

You walk in to a wood clad room with happy people everywhere. The lighting is dim and the ceiling is paneled with soundproofing creating perfect ambience. You are a connoisseur of sushi and have some trepidation when you see American staples such as hamachi crudo and seared albacore with crispy onion. But you are about to find out this place can go deep, just as deep as some hole in the wall in Tokyo. The uni is divine. The mackerel and pickle is perfect. The saikyo-yake with mushroom is to die for. You drink your fill and stare deeply into the eyes of your colleague across from you. There is light in a dark world. Highly recommended.

The hostess was unprofessional & rude to us. I felt that I was being questioned by an elementary teacher. I guess service goes in history books. He approached us and there was so many tables open and he showed us a long waitlist and told us there is an hours wait. He denied that we had called and they had said 30 min wait. After all we got a table in 15 min. They had said wait time would be over an hour. If you expect service and ethics do not go there. We used to go there for years and surely the food is not the same and do not expect service. I guess when a restaurant becomes way to popular it starts shrinking down like everything else. I forgot to mention that the waitress took wrong order but we did not send it back and left it at the table and of course paid for what we had not ordered. When there is no respect the food experience would never be good. I give 0 to their management .

Ordered at 9:20 after waiting 5 min to get even get the attention of the host it’s 10:10 still still waiting on a 20 min eta... I not that busy I watched a couple come after me sit down eat and now are leaving they seems to enjoy their food.The food here is usually good they forgot condiments and took so long I requested my tip back. Something required in advance and far from earned they then forget to call me over and over until I was promised a refund if I found the credit card transaction… I did then they all of a sudden remembered the incident and said it was an apology not a refund.$50 worth of incomplete sushi and I still got stuck tipping the people who didn’t even care to check my order. Even the best fish impropriety prepared is worthless.

This place is really special to my husband and me. We have celebrated a few special occasions here throughout the years. Weve come for a few Valentines days, birthdays, job promotions etc.The quality of the food here is so delicious to the point where its so good where your eyes close while you eat kind of good! The lobster roll, lemon roll and oyster shooters and the salmon crispy rice are a must!Rsvp ahead of time (maybe a week ahead) or expect to wait for at least 30 minutes on any night. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant.

The sushi was good! But the price was far too much for the entire experience. We had a table of five and we each ordered sashimi to start and one roll each to follow. The sashimi came out on time. After that they brought one roll out every 10-15 minutes. The final roll came out over an hour after it was ordered. At some point an additional roll had been ordered, but we had to cancel that one after waiting so long.

Sushi Yuzu is a great little sushi spot Ive been frequenting for years now. The sushi is always fresh, and everything tastes delicious. The restaurant is small, but I like that about the place, it makes it feel more intimate. The vicinity is nice as well. Its situated within Toluca Lake and surrounded by small bars, restaurants and stores. The restaurant also has been up to par with COVID-19 protocols. The tables are spaced out, heaters are provided, and they maintain a certain amount of people per table. The only reason I knocked out one star is because their service isnt so great at times. It takes a while for your server to come check on you or get you what you requested. Other than that, its a nice place to check out.

Great place to go for sushi as well as for small plate items. Their food is always A+! However, last few times we got take-outs from this place, I found something missing from my order once I unpacked my order when I got home. I didnt want to bother calling or going back to get it so I just ate my food as is but I would advise kinda going through the bag to make sure you got your order complete before leaving the premise.

My wife and I no longer live in the area but we always make the drive. The sushi is fresh and original. The lemon roll is delicious. The Yuzu Roll is a must have. Its best to get a reservation. Its a small place but they can accommodate medium sized groups if you plan ahead. We have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. I love Sushi Yuzu!

Extremely long wait, people that arrived after me were seated before me, had to fuss with the host about this. Their kitchen staff seems to barely be able to keep up with the food requested from tables and some tables clearly had impatient and hungry diners at them. That said, however, the food was pretty good. A bit pricey but was pleased with the quality.

Best sushi I’ve ever had!!! The food is great the staff is wonderful. The place is kind of small, and there’s always a wait. I suggest making a reservation prior. There’s limited parking, and street parking isn’t that good either. Overall, the wait and the parking issue is worth it. The sushi is a little pricey but it is worth what you pay for as well.

Looked forward to our first time at this known sushi restaurant. Reservation was on point and time. Food good (not great but very good), fish fresh, fairly well presented. Service OFF. Received another tables order at one point. Server seemed to forget some of what we ordered. Wrong drink for one of my guests. Server knocked over my large Sapporo, 1/4-1/3 poured over the table, he wiped up and provided extra napkins for me to wipe up more I guess...when I ordered a 2nd one, it was on the tab. Whenever I visit Toluca Lakes, Burbank or Glenda this is where Ill be going for sushi. Yuzu is located in a small location just as you enter Toluca Lakes from the east. The dining area is micro, inviting and well-maintained. We dined on a Monday around 9PM and still had to wait about 15 minutes for seats for two.We were seated at the sushi bar and got to watch the amazing staff of three sushi chefs really go to work on some fish, rice and vegetables. This place serves the largest sushi rolls Ive ever eaten. In addition to being large, the rolls are detailed and interesting. For example my tuna roll had a single pine nut and lemon shaving on each piece. In addition to the sashimi tuna on top of the roll, my order was stuffed with minced tuna which seemed to double the size of each bite. This was probably the most memorable and tasty sushi roll Ive ever eaten.Note: While I liked the minced tuna, the texture did sort of freak me out at first.Service was attentive. The staff was super focused on serving our needs yet also talkative. If you are in the area you really cant go wrong with Yuzu.

Incredible place! I came to eat by myself at the bar after a work event and was seated immediately despite the long line (hooray for single seats) and treated like family the entire time. The salmon sushi was delicious and fresh and I also got the foil fish which was really done well and very savory... my only advice I would recommend that they serve the fish with white rice... other than that - a true gem!!!

If this was the first time I ever tried sushi Id probably never eat it again. When I got there they couldnt even find my order. Took 10 minutes. After eating the few rolls my stomach could hold down I wanted to barf. The sushi isnt fresh. More like defrosted. The salmon tower and albacore was terrible. Their spicy mayo tastes like ketchup and basil. Wont ever come back here.

Great place. Pretty standard sushi place which for me means really good. My basic rules, avoid sushi places with rock, or rocknroll in the name. Those places usually cover their rolls in glorified mayonnaise and have cream cheese in their rolls. Sushi Yuzu had little of this. The fish is where it is at for me and the tuna was on point as they say. I love miso soup and theirs was top notch, great flavor and it had a little smokiness that was different but a nice touch.They had a great decent priced sake menu to boot. The only thing I didnt like was that they didnt have warm towels. That is such a nice touch.Definitely recommend this place, not the cheapest but at least it is good.I

I usually dont write reviews for restaurant experiences, even when the experience is unsatisfactory, but our latest encounter with this restaurant should be noted. I have been to Sushi Yuzu a number of times and have always enjoyed their food, however I will not be going back. Tonight, my girlfriend and I decided to go to Sushi Yuzu, and saw there was a quite a wait for a table so we opted for takeout. The server who was helping place our order let us know the food would take about 30 minutes to prepare, and delibrately took down our cell number to call or text when the order was ready. No problem there, however, as we waited close to an hour, my girlfriend and I felt maybe they had forgotten our order. Come to find out our food was sitting on a table in the middle of the restaurant for what seemed to be over 30-40 min. When we asked why they didnt text or call to let us know (like they had said), the same person who gave us the instructions smugly replied, were busy and we do not do such a thing. Are you kidding? You gave us those specific instructions! We didnt get an apology or any sort of answer other than to just deal with it. When we asked how long the bag was sitting there, the same guy goes, uh, just like 5 minutes, when we had been staring at it for the 30 minutes we had been waiting. We would have asked earlier, but considering Covid and only allowing so few people in, we relied on the restaurant letting us know when it was ready like they had said. Then, when we asked for a refund and gave back the cold food, again there was no apology but instead a feeling of indifference and arrogance. We wernt looking for a free meal or anything, but certainly more than just a take it or leave it approach. Sadly, we will not be coming back to this awfully run establishment. We are not picky people, I get establishments can have off nights, but they could have cared less about their customer service.

Hosts here are nicer than in the sister restuarant Kabuso... which is the main reason I like this restaurant better. Spacious enough to not feel crowded even with full. RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST, even on a Monday the waiting time is 45 mins without one. Yummy, fresh but a bit over priced for me. Rolls were $17-$20 which is the priced I pay at Tao in hollywood....def my fav sushi spot in the valley though!

Its a nice little place nestled in between a few shops, in fact, Ive driven last it for the past two or three years and never noticed it there before. And Ill tell you why.For a place to get as much hype as Sushi Yuzu, I was really disappointed to see that their sushi is pre-cut.I also judge a place based on their ahi, and their maguro that night, wasnt looking as fresh nor as good of a grade as one should be.Is the sushi good? Yes. Is it worth their weight in gold? I wouldnt bet on it.If youre going to come here, find the times during which it is not rush hour.Lastly, if youre an establishment and youre going to take shortcuts, at least knock off a buck or two off of your prices. Just my two cents.Oh, and they have parking which is cool.

DISCRIMINATION. Sad but true. Apparently, the sushi bar is off limits to certain people. My son, who is a sushi lover and has eaten at the sushi bar for a long time, was no longer allowed to sit at the sushi bar, which is his favorite spot (so he can watch them make the sushi). The last time we were there, the owner didnt want us to sit there but relented. This time, he gave us a safety excuse and told us to sit at a table.When we go there, we spend an average of $80-100 and we eat quickly so that others can have a seat. We go right at the opening time, so that we dont take the seats during their peak hours. People also come up to us to tell us how extremely well behaved our son is - he LOVES it there after all! So its sad and disappointing that we will no longer be going there. We refuse to be DISCRIMINATED against. And from what we deduce, we just dont spend enough at the sushi bar for their liking. In their eyes, my son just doesnt eat enough.Please dont support them. There are many other great sushi restaurants in the area. Lets make them recognize that DISCRIMINATION is not acceptable.Thanks.
