My wife and I have tried coming here a couple times now on the weekend and it was always so busy so we decided to try on a random weekday evening. It was worth the wait. The ambiance was unique and not like most of the sushi places locally. There was no wait and the service was quick. Our server was very attentive and kind. And the food was fantastic.We got the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Potato String Shrimp as appetizers. For the sushi (two pieces), we got Seared Pepper Tuna, Seared Pepper Salmon, Salmon, and Salmon Belly. Then we got the Alaskan Roll and Vampire Roll. All fantastic. 10/10, would highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

God, I love this place. I travel for a living, and I get SO excited when I can come back here. The food is GORGEOUS and top-notch quality, even for Southern California, where I feel some of the best sushi standards exist in this country. I get the Tako Wasabi every time. It is amazing and most sushi places dont offer this. I also got the Ankimo again, which I just adore. This time I got the Pctopus Carpaccio, and Im in LOVE with it. I also got the super fatty yellowtail, and I cant believe km saying this, but it might be TOO rich. I doubt Ive ever said thise words. Haahhaaa. I also got the conch sushi. Im glad I tried it, but it was just ok. I did, however try the salmon belly, and it was amazing! The one issue I have with this place is the music. Now dont get me wrong, I personally listen to a lot of what they play, but my boyfriend refuses to come back here, because he is a teacher and he cant believe they play music with the worst of the worst swear words in it, with children in the building. I think the owners need to consider that their teenage employees might not be picking music thats doing then and favors. Im no prude. I have a total sailor mouth, but when children are around, I act like an adult. I would NEVER bring my children here, if I had any. Just saying. Otherwise, this place is my fav sushi place in the entire country. I just have to come here alone. :(

Son and I went bowling and wanted sushi for dinner, found Sushiya nearby. We had Gyoza, Lemon Blossom Roll, Malibu Roll, MSC Roll and Yellowtail Collar. Everything was fresh and delicious! The staff was super friendly and very helpful, and the atmosphere was comfortable and charming. Well definitely go back again!

Absolutely cute inside feels so home like 🥰🥰 staff is wonderful. If you knew the owners of Big Sky, youll be happy to know these owners are family friends of theirs and Big Sky owner did retired. Food is amazing like always. Highly recommend you come here.!!! Also I LOVE the music they play make me feel happy and helps enjoy then dining in!

Food tasted amazingly good and the green tea is really good. Im not much of a fan when it comes to bagged tea, this one was good though. Service was a bit slow, but it was pretty busy when we came in so its understandable. Overall, beautiful atmosphere with cherry blossoms overhead. 🌸

Id rather give this place 3 & 1/2 stars, but thats not an option. The staff was good, and the restaurant is cute, but the sushi was a mixed bag. Salmon was good, the otoro was not. Maybe it was an off night.

I only took the one picture of the “Faming Yellowtail” but OH MAN. Everything was delicious. Our other favorite is the “Lemon Blossom”. We’ve come back twice in a week!! The customer service is lovely, decent prices on everything. Good atmosphere including good music and beautiful decor. It’s safe to say this is our new favorite spot !

This place is definetily worth the price 👌. Everything was delicious, and service was very kind and fast. Also very aesthetically pleasing. I might have had one to many, but my taste buds dont lie. Also I forgot to take a pic of the food, because it was so good. I ate it up immediately. We got the dragon roll, B.S.C.R (it was godly), and the calamari roll. 10/10 would rob someone for this.

My boyfriend and I love it here! We drive from Pomona to this location anytime we want sushi. The service and food is always fast and it’s beautiful inside. The owners are also so kind. I recommend checking in on yelp before getting there, so you can be seated fast when it’s busy. Delicious every time!

Sushiya has become our favorite local restaurant. We love the atmosphere: Low key, not too bright, very inviting, plenty of tables and booths. The food is always on point. We love the sashimi and mix tempura as well as the garlic edamame. Andrew and the entire staff are always welcoming and greet us with a smile. The prices are very affordable for very quality sushi. Delicious sushi spot! The salmon capacious and blue fin tuna belly were fire. Thr fish literally melts in your mouth. I loved the decor and the service was prompt. Deceiving on the outside but I promise you wont regret it. So good I didnt even take out my phone for pics, just devoured everything that was served in front of me.

Ive been here twice within the last few weeks. First time I went I met Andrew (I believe he was the owner) very nice, had great service, excellent food. Andrew made some great suggestions. Second time I went food still great, but service was lacking a bit. Im hoping it was just a one off, but I will be giving them another shot as the food is great.

I have tried many sushi places around my area and this is by far the best spot. The atmosphere of the resturant is very peaceful and quiet, we enjoyed it very much. The decorations were also very pleasing to look at. The entire resturant felt very clean and neat. The rolls were well prepared and presented very nicely. The prices were also very reasonable. The chefs greet you when walking in and everyone said goodbye while we were leaving. I did notice as soon as the other customers have left, the tables were being well cleaned along with the menus. Overall this place exceeded my expectations and we had a wonderful experience. We will definetly be back next week. 😃

Best Sushi Restraunt I’ve ever eaten at. The quality of the food is amazing, and the prices at very reasonable. The customer service was amazing, the waiter was so helpful and welcoming. Not only was the food and customer service amazing, the place was also beautiful, beautifully decorated with blossoms and fit the theme of the food, made the food taste better! I would recommend everyone here, even if you l have never eaten anything like this or even don’t like, I recommend to give it a shot. Will be eating at this place regularly. The restraunt was mind-blowing for being grand-opened, I would not be surprised if this restaurant blows up, and is packed all day long in a few months. Give it a try def recommend!!!

Updated Review on my 4th visit. Moving from 5 star to 3 star. The food quality has gone down, bulgogi was burnt. Timing of food coming to the table was horrible. My wifes sashimi didnt arrive until everyone had finished their food and she never received her miso soup. My sushi rolls, ordered as an appetizer, came well after the entree.The restaurant was well staffed and although it was a Saturday night, it wasnt too busy. I watched as manager(s), servers, and sushi chef were casually talking with each other while food orders waited to be expedited to tables.Disappointed as this had become my favorite Japanese place. Ill wait at least a month or two to try one last time as our first two visits were wonderful. Again this is our fourth visit in total. My 3rd visit in early June was just okay.I want this place to be good! Fingers crossed 🤞Original review from May 2022:Great new place for Japanese cuisine in San Dimas. The food was fresh and very tasty, even my 3 year old loved it! We had teriyaki beef and salmon, and beef bulgogi along with a crunch roll. If this were my first time here, I wouldnt be back. My chicken teriyaki was terrible. It had a rubber/plastic texture. The servers tried to drop several things on our table that werent ours, then took to different tables. In this period, still partially in a pandemic, thats not safe or sanitary. I never got the miso soup that shouldve come with my meal. I will try again and hope things come around. Previous good experiences are the only reason I gave 3 stars.

Cute atmosphere, but food is disappointing. Ordered a cold sake, was served room temperature. I was told it comes from a box thats not refrigerated. Thats not cold sake, dont sell it as such. Had to order an expensive bottle to get something cold. Food came out way too fast and was lacking flavor. Teriyaki chicken had a weird texture, tasted like pressed meat. Albacore roll had tough cuts of fish. Had to ask for miso soup after our food already appeared. Food overall just lacked flavor and freshness. I wont be coming back.
