Good food, good service, lovely atmosphere. A nice treat on a busy day or a good place to sit and talk with friends for a while. A little expensive but nothing worse than Starbucks and I’d rather support them!

In the heart of San Dimas, this cute family owned place is located in the middle of the beautiful downtown. I have passed it a couple of times and always wanted to try it. Today, I made sure to visit it.Cute little spot with a lot of seatings inside and outside. They have 2 spots outside. One that oversees the street and another inside the back like a little alley. 10/10 for the locationThey have plenty of menu options that accommodate all. I ordered the GINA WRAP (healthy option) & CHIKEN EMPANADAS. both are extremely delicious, flavorful, tasty, and juicy. 10/10 for the foodThe owner, Aida, and her son Marco were very sweet,hospitable, and made you feel like you knew them for a long time. Let me add to it, VERY GENEROUS. On top of my order, they offered me complimentary Aqua Fresca samples, coffee, and cookies complementary on them while waiting for my food to be prepared.In short, this place is GO TO for sure and will definitely come again and encourage my friends and family to visit.Thank you, SWEET SAVORY CAFE, for a marvelous food experience.

I had to come back for the bombolone. Those are always amazing! I just have to say I’m very disappointed in the paninis. I got the tuna and the san dimas paninis and wow we couldn’t eat them, we tried too! Plus they were pricey. Bummer.

The customer service here is unparalleled. You can tell that its a family owned business that truly cares about making incredible food, and ensuring their customers leave happy. Best Avocado Toast ever. Came with a friend, we got a Full order of Savory Avocado Toast. Added scrambled egg on top. Generous portion. Also enjoyed a Cappucino. Sampled the fresh squeezed orange juice. Everything was amazing. Cosy, inviting vibe, great customer service.

Such a cute and delicious place to visit. I had a vanilla latte and an almond-croissant pastry. Both were excellent, and the staff was kind enough to allow my dog and I to enjoy the atmosphere indoors when we decided to hang around. Will certainly return for the primary menu items.

Sadly this was my first time to this cafe even though Ive lived in the area for many years. I wish I had come here sooner. Everything from the food to the service and atmosphere was top notch. The empanadas are some of the best Ive ever had with just the right mix of sweet and savory. They even inisisted on remaking my coffee for me at no charge when it wasnt to my liking. I didnt get the agua fresca juice but I tasted it and it was fresh and delicious. Come to this place and it wont disappoint! Thank you Sweet and Savory for a wonderful experience.

Hatie and her son Marco are the owners of this coffee shop and the community needs more people like them. All we wanted was a chocolate croissant (which was insanely good by the way, great flaky buttery and chocolatey balance) and they ended up giving us four extra pastries. It’s impressive that every single pastry we were given was equally as fresh and delicious. The caramel iced coffee was exceptional also. You can tell they are endeared by their locals. Ordered a Turkey Bacon Avocado, which is supposed to have avocado, as well as pesto mayo. Got home and it had no avocado and just regular mayo. Two of the 5 things that are supposed to be on the sandwich. Still a good sandwich and nice place, but disappointed.

What a cute spot in the heart of downtown San Dimas! We stopped in for a quick snack. The BLT was delicious, as was the house made strudel croissant! On top of the great food, the service was wonderful. We would highly recommend this place and would love to go back when we’re in San Dimas again!

WORST EXPERIENCE!Ive been coming to this place now a few times because the food is actually pretty good. They messed up on my sandwich order the last 2 times I went, but since they are a small business I didnt sweat it too much. Today was my final straw ! I order a sandwich, everyone on my table ordered and got their food and even the entire table of 7 people after me received their food before I got my 1 sandwich. I had to end up just taking it to go since everyone else was already done with their food and i didnt want them to wait on me! Then when I said something to them, they didnt even apologize! I think their process of getting out easy, pre-made food out first is a horrible idea ! It should be first come first serve.Beware!! Good food! Horrible service !!!

The staffs here are so nice and attentive. The foods are very fresh and theres a lot of healthy options. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for both quality and quantity.I tried the mini donuts and a couple of cookies, and they are sooo good, Im so glad to find a place that can make good cookies without tons of sugar. All cookies taste like they are just coming out of the oven.

This is legitimately the best coffeehouse I’ve ever been to. You were treated like family. And they give consideration to every single person that walks in the door. If I could give more stars I would. Highly recommended. Owner makes fresh food every day and comes up with new recipes all the time. Nice, quaint sidewalk Cafe. I had never been there before and was going simply to pick up a gift certificate to use as a raffle prize. All the same, I was treated to a free cup of coffee and a free little pastry when I told them what I was doing and for whom (a non-profit retirement community). The sense of community and kindness is very strong here. We need more family-owned and -operated places like this. I look forward to going back!

Great tasting food does come with a wait, but it is worth it. Fantastic service and courteous staff makes this small cafe a pleasure. Could use a bit more seating, a small group can overwhelm interior. There is outside seating to make up for it. Over all a great little hidden secret.

What a find! You need to go to this place!! Read on and you will see why...Last minute, impromptu party attended by friends from the good old US, Argentina, Peru, and Mexico.Hosted by a first gen Chileno. As you can imagine, we all have our own opinions on empanadas.But what we could all agree on was that the ones from Sweet Savory Cafe were amazing.But thats just the beginning of this review. As mentioned, this was a last-minute party. When I called, the cafe was actually closed. But the owner, out out of the goodness of her heart, made empanadas for us anyway because I was clearly up the creep without any empanadas. And then, because the oven was on, she threw in a box of strudel! Which was equally amazing!When I tried to tip her, she took the receipt from me and said my continued business would be enough.What a kind and generous proprietor! And what delicious food!

Kind of revolting, tbh. Blending everything together in a dry, hard ball doesnt equal good cooking. Scrambled eggs literally blended, as in blender, with potatoes, beans,sausage and cheese in disgusting dry ball. Workers stare blankly with mouths open for simple orders, which take forever. Even the salsa couldnt make up for the gross taste or dryness.Served in all plastic and package non-recylables whether you stay or not. 😳 Do I have to say? What a shame to do to the environment.Also, youre forced to give a tip in advance, to people who appear not to want to serve.Shame, because its a cute place.Do you see any scrambled eggs in there? No, because they were put in a blender with the other ingredients. That mush isnt beans .

From what Ive seen in my short stay in San Dimas, this place is head and shoulders above the rest. Tried the turkey/bacon/avocado sandwich. Was nice. The turkey was a tad less flavorful than Im used to but still good, and the bread, I couldnt tell if it was semi toasted or just semi hard. But all in all the best sandwich Ive had in my short stint here in Cali and the avocado was superb. The fresh squeezed OJ was amazing. The hot vanilla latte was nice. The vibe sitting down inside was great. Their taste in music was great. Hendrix, Beatles, Bob Marley, etc. No garbage EDM to be heard. The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the ubiquitous How much do you want to tip huh? checkout screen. That is so annoying. Itd make more sense for me to get a tip since Im the one bringing them business and paying $14 for a sandwich. Would you like to pay.....$17 for a sandwich? How bout 20? It makes me feel like my business isnt really appreciated. Gone are the days when your patronage was enough, and tips were for bartenders, waiters and drivers. And I say this as a former restaurant owner. Imagine going to home depot, or the grocery store, spending a mint on stuff and the checkout asks if youd like to pay more. Um, no? Yes yes, some other places do it too. And they get the same reaction. Also, even though their menu shows 5 or 6 delicious styles of soup, all they had made was lentil. For 1:30 in the afternoon I dont get that. Then again, they close at 3. So I love the place, the food was nice, but I hate being pressured to tip just for giving them my business.

First time back at the sweet Savory Cafe since covid. Turns out theres a new owner and the place has a whole new vibe. The menu has been mixed up a bit but everything we tried was great. Baked goods for fresh and delicious, breakfast was good and the service is excellent. Fresh juice daily. I highly recommend to the pineapple mango. Be sure to grab a dozen cookies to take with you. They are excellent. Definitely worth an additional visit to explore their menu. Always great to support a family-owned business that is obviously working so hard to please. And theyre doing a great job of it!

This family run business is on point. Marcos and his family are amazing and they make you feel at home. My aunt had bagel and lox and I had a breakfast bagel sandwich with an empanada on the side. We also had the watermelon fresca to drink . Of course we took some pastries to go. I can see that this place has a lot of regulars that come in which is a great sign. So this was my first visit and I waited about 40 minutes to get a Cubano sandwich. At about 30 minutes of waiting I went up to the counter to find out what happened to my order. Apparently they mistakenly gave it to another customer. The young man apologized for the mix up and offered to refund my money and brought bread, soup, and a taco while I waited for the sandwich. The sandwich was very good, but I could only eat half of it because I filled up on the taco. The taco was cold but I was hungry. I did not seek the refund because in the end, I got the sandwich.This place was extremely busy at lunchtime and people lined up and waited indoors and out.I loved the fresh squeezed Pineapple Mango and Coconut juice!Despite this experience, I will return to try other dishes.

The food, service, and experience was impeccable! I personally am not typically someone who raves about food because so much now a days is processed and just doesnt have layers of flavor. I am a vegetarian as well and so it seems harder to find others, besides my own kitchen, that will make vegetables with seasonings! haha This place is above and beyond my expectations with the taste of a home cooked meal. I can actually taste the difference of the care they put in their food! They do not skimp out on any steps for simplicitys sake. Every single thing we tried was amazing and actually made us feel good all day! I will definitely be back and I hope everyone takes the opportunity to try this restaurant! I was able to meet the son and mom (chef) who own the restaurant and I want to especially thank them for making the experience so perfect! P.S. Try the croissant that has the cream in the middle! Nice homemade sandwiches that look regular but have a nice twist. Empenadas were flaky. Each are priced individually and a bit high. The pastries though are super reasonable and very delicious. Been here just a handful of times now and the service has been exceptional. The restaurant is very much a family run business and everyone does their best to make sure you get the best experience possible.I’ve had the empanadas the Italian panini and the Caesar salad along with various pastries.The Caesar salad is probably one of my favorite salads I’ve had. I can’t not have it when I go there. They are even nice enough to portion it out for you as they run on the large side.Give this place a try. You won’t regret it.

I started going there this year after afternoon swimming nearby. I saw the Cafe asked my friend to try out. We loved it the first time and being going back at least twice a month. The staff is kind, friendly, amazing all the way…every time I eat there, I feel like I’m eating with family. They think of everything! If you love a taste of everything, this place is the best. They give you cookies and other little tempting treats for free when you have lunch there. We ordered soup and salad, and a sandwich. The lentil soup was delicious and warm, the salad was huge and my sandwich had that fall aparty quality I love. They brought out fresh croissants, and crunchy cookie that I loved! Came upon this place on a lets drive around and find somewhere to eat... it was delicious! The Carnitas breakfast sandwich had the carnitas Ive had in a long time. Im not one for breakfast, so my huevo (egg) was on the side, again, I dont do breakfast, that was a darn good egg! And the pineapple, mango, and orange jugo (juice) sooo good.Oh, oh, oh the pistachio cheesecake, try it! I really enjoyed the vibe, too. I went last Thursday to try out their beef empanadas. I called before going to preorder and make sure they have some. The gentleman who answered sounded like I was bothering him for asking and said I can just come and order when I get there. I was specifically going just for the empanadas. In a few minutes after my call I arrived at the place to be told they didn’t have any and that I should have called first. Well that was exactly what I did!!! I was about to leave when the lady owner said that if I waited like 20 minutes she can have some ready. I decided to wait and took a walk. I came back after 30 minutes still was not ready. I waited another 20 minutes. Was it worth the wait??? No!!!! The beef empanadas were dry and bland. I have tasted way better ones. For some that have not tried the authentic ones they might settle for it but it wasn’t for me.

We found this delightful spot while visiting the area and returned for second helpings to try both the breakfast and lunch menus.Between us, we sampled multiple pastries that melted in our mouths and fresh juices (yes fresh with all the squeezings). We also consumed breakfast burritos filled with tantalizing ingredients that made our mouths water and were of a size to feed either two people or one very hungry person. To top it off, it was served with a large cup of fresh mixed fruit and some of the best salsa we have had since Santa Fe.The customer service was top shelf. Sitting in our corner and enjoying a leisurely repast, we noticed that the attention and courtesy they extended to us was not unique, but lavished on all who darked their doors. Samples of cookies often left in the hands of clients as they finished their purchase.Though we did not order them, several varieties of empanadas seemed to leave the bakery as fast as they came out of the oven. Clients would come in, order some, and return to pick their order up, because the next batch was coming out shortly. No one seemed to mind the wait, the empanadas were worth it.I look forward to returning to San Dimas and visiting what has become our favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. But i didn’t like the fact that one of their employees was not wearing a mask, and she was making the food, bringing food to the tables and talking to clients without a mask . So good. The tri-tip sandwich is so good and you can pick what bread type. I had the most creamy frothy latte that I was I’m latte bliss. I love their drinks that are homemade, The mango pineapple drink is by far my fav, My husband like the green drink. I get juice and coffee with my croissant 🥐. Also the chicken soup is stocked with chicken and veggies that I always order a cup of soup. In this weather a good cup of soup is a god send. The owner herself is a angel. She is so kind and accommodating that I always leave with some of her great pastries. Mom and pop shop that is a must when I’m in San Dimas. Looking forward to my breakfast spot next week!!
