Good prices, great service, excellent food. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They want you to be satisfied. We had the tangerine chicken, and sweet/sour chicken lunch combos. We were very happy with them. They were so good!

Going to Ta Chen was one of the most genuine and welcoming restaurants I have ever been to. We ordered take out on Christmas Eve. When I got there my food wasnt ready, so the owner (David) gave me some soup, water, and a cookie while I waited. He talked to me about being in business for 37 years and how the community of Garden Grove was wonderful. Both the customers before and after me knew David. And by the way, the food was good! What a find.

The male owner David was really nice and helpful, but the woman was not, she told us ( with kids ) that its only to go food but then sat a couple right after us. Food is good, but if you kave kids, expect to be told that the food is only to go. Servise was only good because of the owner David

The worst thing I could say about this place is that I have so many favorite dishes that choosing is impossible! The food is amazing and every time I try something new I have a new favorite. The owner is also very sweet.

They have reasonably priced great food and friendly service. We each had the szechwan dinner. It came with hot and sour soup, egg roll, fried shrimp, wrapped chicken, and rice. We tried the orange chicken on recommendation of a friend and the moo shu pork. I like how they put scrambled egg in the rice. Each entree was enough for two.

I went there today. They weren’t open for dining only” to go” I think. I walked in and the lady didn’t speak a word of English so I walked out. She said it was closed. Not sure why. The website doesn’t say it’s closed

The food is not that good as I was expecting, when I arrived I was told that only to go orders where available, then I asked for a combination plate, the lady told me that it wasnt a fast food restaurant, so I ordered 2 dishes, but I got really disappointed.

Pork chow mein, Wheres the pork? Wheres anything but noodles? Wontons? Looks like something burned. What is it? 3 flavor ingredients. Specifically said no bamboo no bean sprouts. Had bamboo and so dried out. Was always my go to food and restaurant. Bye lost my business

This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Dine in was closed but they let us in anyway. Food was the best authentic Chinese I have ever had. The service was beyond compare and by the end, we felt like family. They even gave us extra food. They gave us water bottles for the road because we were going for a love drive. The owners truly want the best for their customers. I will definitely come back.

In a time where your quintessential Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen, Ta Chen certainly surprises. The food was delicious, and amazingly prepared. Nothing soggy, overcooked, or over/under seasoned. Simply put: It was perfect.The service was top notch. When walking in to the building to pick up our food, I was greeted by a sincere and energetic woman. It was sad to see the restaurant empty, but that is only due to current COVID restrictions in the area. With ample food, soy sauce, and a bag of complimentary almond cookies in hand, she bid me farewell and a happy holiday.It’s a bit out of my way, but I’ll definitely be back. That’s how good this place was.

The food had no taste, I had to add stuff to it to give it flavor. The fried rice was white rice with veggies, the Chow Mein tasted bland, the kung pao chicken was okay needed more pao, the Szechwan Beef was good but it wasnt mild. Portions were very small for the price. I really dont understand how it has a 4.5 stars.

It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten here because I’m in the Inland Empire now. But their lemon chicken…truly the best I’ve ever had. I haven’t found lemon chicken out here that even comes close. Their chicken is cooked to perfection, with delicious lemon sauce. The service was wonderful!! My niece, who is now in Arizona, and I were talking about this restaurant and their lemon chicken. We both miss it terribly.

We love this place! Super friendly staff, when my folks pick up my son from daycare and pick up take out the owner will help my mom carry the food out to the car. The food is amazing, the sauce in their lemon chicken is to die for, it tastes like lemon chiffon. I dont know where the person who gave this one star went, but it sure wasnt Ta Chens! If you want a neighborhood place where they know you by name, this is it.

This was something of a mystery for us, we went here with high expectations based on the many favorable Google reviews, but the core ingredients were minimal flavor. The owner wanted to make sure we were satisfied. We tried the chow mein, orange chicken, fried rice, spring rolls, sweet and sour fish...I tried hard to like the offerings but my wife and kids disliked the taste. They repackaged the food but the lack of flavor was unchanged. They did give us a discount for dissatisfaction but I would not return as a tourist.We have eaten at many Chinese restaurants over the years but extra salt, sugar or sauce cannot offset bland base ingredients. I should have taken the owner up on his refund offer.

My wife and I just recently discovered this restaurant. David and his wife always make the dining experience a fun and relaxing time. I wish we would have come here long ago. You can eat out in fancy restaurants all across the country and leave disappointed, but you won’t feel that way after a meal here. It’s not a large restaurant, but it’s cleanand very comfortable. David is a very nice and funny host. He makes the dining a very fun experience. Thank you David for introducing us to your delicious menu!

David the owner always greets you with a welcome Home when you arrive. This is a small restaurant in a strip mall but dont let that fool you. The food is old school Chinese They truly believe that the customer is always right here. You can always expect something on the house. The food is excellent, service great and the price is right. A local family owned hidden gem! Everything is great and I suggest anything with the Ta Chen name on it, there sauce is amazing. We go there and do a lot of takeout too

Red Robin has the best turkey burger. It is a fun place for lunch or dinner and the service is always excellent. The fries are good but also have the option of a side salad with any burger. Great if watching calories. Great if not. Lots of other good menu options. My favorite spot for lunch in Orange County.

Service was amazing. The food was great. Best of all is the hospitality. If you ask for it they make sure you get it. I asked for almond cookies at the end of the meal. Not only did they bring us almond cookies at the end of the meal but the manager brought a bag of them to me after we got in our car. Really a wonderful place to go and feel like family.

Ta Chens has been our go-to for take out Chinese for years. Occasionally well dine in too. The restaurant is small and not fancy but the food is consistently good. We love the spare ribs, the sweet n sour pork, the shrimp fried rice and Ta Chen chicken. Shhhh!!! Maybe its only me because were such good customers but there are usually free egg rolls in the bag.

Ive been coming to Ta Chen for over 10 years. The owners are always happy and energetic when I come in. My wife is always amazed that they recognize me and remember my order, even if I havent been in for over a year. The food is always beyond amazing and theres always enough leftovers to enjoy the next day for a reasonable price.

Since our favorite Chinese restaurant closed we decided we would try to find another and since Ta Chen Was literally 5 minutes down the street we thought we would try it. Sadly we were not impressed at all the restaurant was very dark and dank on the inside Horrible atmosphere and the food was even worse we ordered Orange chicken and there was no meat and the chicken at all.. My husband was not thrilled with his dinner either. We had to ask to have our drinks refilled, I was hoping we had found our new favorite Chinese restaurant but sadly we did not we will not be going back!!!

My family has been going here for 32- years and have never experienced such a terrible experience as we did last night.We were celebrating our parents 57th wedding anniversary,and David,the owner was very rude and loud when we ask him about how we should order.The family style ordering seemed better,but he got agitated and made a scene saying we had to pay full price for a child,because we were at his big table!The food was not as good as usual and his service stunk.His wife tries so hard to please everyone,but he is rude and puts on a facade of being funny and nice.We let him know he ruined our night with his rudeness and will never have our business again.

My experience there was as terrible.i ask waitress for tea an she emptied my friends tea Im my cup an said there you go..then I asked for sugar an she gave me a couple of sugar packet an they where half used.what the hell is this..then my friend found a salt packet in the mushrooms soup.some body needs to go an check out the madness in there very poor service.an very dirty..the health department should go down there.my next move it to call the health department and let them know about this..
