2023-09-28 21:54:02This place is so fun! Its a great change of pace for locals looking for a nice dinner out and so fun to try with others for their first time. Its bar seating style so keep that in mind. You get a ton of fresh food and I always leave with a whole meal or two in leftovers. The staff have always been great too!

2023-02-10 07:47:35This is a fantastic Westernized hot pot style restaurant. The food is awesome!!! The servers were more than pleasant, very informative, friendly, and always smiling. Menu selection covered seafood and most meat selections. Sake menu was well rounded. We actually split a regular, 2-combination dinner of sushi-grade salmon and ribeye, veggies, with sake and wine. Our leftovers were made into 2 large, wonderful soups we took home for next-day lunch. I would eat here on a regular basis if I lived here!!!

2023-07-20 23:03:00Very good Japanese Hot Pot. The service was great thanks to Cassandra. She explained everything to make the experience much better! Fresh veggies and high quality meats and delicious broth! The only problem I had was my leftover broth had a hunk of broken plastic in it. Im glad I saw it before I ate it! That wouldnt have been good...

2023-04-14 03:58:47We stumbled upon this shabu shabu restaurant while visiting Encinitas. We walked in and immediately felt like we had been there before. The Shabu shabu was excellent, fresh, crisp taste, all the right flavors and all the right ingredients nothing was missing. The Sukiyaki broth is our favorite base. We pleasantly discovered this restaurant has several locations and we had experienced the Huntington Beach location s couple years back. These two restaurants serve the best Shabu shabu we can find. Cant wait to go back. Really wish there were a location close to home in Redlands, CA.

2022-05-08 16:06:27It was our first time being here, what I really like is that the guy that attended to us was really patient and he explained well how the whole thing works, the only thing he forgot to ask is how we wanted the orders to be taken since we were 1 big group but we needed 3 different checks other than that it was really good,I think we would come back another time. Also thank you miss Rachel for your patience too.

2022-07-30 15:38:13Ive eaten at many Shabu places and Tabu Shabu didnt appeal to my taste buds at all. What makes a great Shabu is the combination of meat, sauces and the soup base. Although the meat was fine, the pork bone soup base was extremely salty. Worst parts are the ponzu which was vinegary, and instead of a sauce, the sesame was a paste that was grainy. From the very first bite, I was not happy. Tabu was also the most expensive Shabu place Ive ever been to and based on other ratings, was very excited to try it. Unfortunately, it didnt even come close to my expectations. I thought maybe it was just me, so I asked my wife how she liked it and she too said it was very salty. Definitely not a place I can recommend.

2022-09-25 03:31:074.5 stars - lovely little casual restaurant in modern Japanese style. Staff was great, food was super high quality, and drinks were standard fare (various sake, a couple of wines and a handful of beer options). Took off a half star because no reservations system and the hot sake wasnt actually hot (warm only). Will definitely be going back and highly recommend for a great Shabu Shabu experience in a relaxed setting!
