This is the best place to get a all meat burrito in Arcadia California. The day I went they were out of there world famous taco sauce but thats OK because Ive had so much and still have plenty at home on reserve. The place has changed but the food is still good

This place is just nostalgic. I’m 34 now and soon to be 35. This place has been around since I was in middle school. I remember our teachers would get us tacos and food from this place. I don’t live in Arcadia anymore, but every time I come visit my family/ I make sure to stop by.

I’ve been wanting to try Taco Lita for awhile now and I finally gave it a shot! It definitely did not disappoint! Everyone that works is there is incredibly nice and has amazing customer service! The Tacos were delicious. We got the crunchy taco combo, 3 tacos and a drink for $8.99. The inside is very cool and retro. This place has been there since 1967 and still going strong. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m sorry but my boys and I were truly disappointed. I spotted this restaurant on my way back to Riverside,the name and signage reminded me of Taco Tia based in the Inland Empire. Taco Tia is local favorite that been around for 45 plus years. We ordered the one Wednesday Special Combo as taste test before ordering more. Taco Tia offers a Wednesday special as well so I was expecting a delicious burrito/taco.The taco meat was cold and no flavor. The combo burrito was full cold beans and dry meat/flavorless meat. I notice the Taco Lita sauce was unavailable and substituted with packets of Heinz Taco Sauce . I would of expected better taco Sauce.The restaurant was extremely clean and the staff was nice.

Kind of Disappointed. I had the Tastada combo. Not like it used to be, More beans, less meat, A lot of lettuce, like too much and less cheese. I remember it being pretty evenly proportioned, And the cheese used to completely cover the top. Now its just in the center of the top and they are using cardboard containers for the tastada and it gets Soggy from the lettuce and grease starts to fall apart ..My husband got tacos.. They may be priced okay but They also have less meat and cheese. And a lot more lettuce. Kind of disappointing I have to say. So if you go, by all means ask for easy lettuce. Things have definitely changed since the owners Passed away and their son and definitely not as busy as it used to be. I have been going there since I was a little kid.

The service COULD be better. While most of the days the front desk older lady with glasses is seemingly nice. But on certain days she gives you the weird looks and makes you feel aweful throughout after leaving the restaurant. And if you try to ask a simple question about something she gives off this sarcastic tone with a nervous laugh to make you feel inferior to her I.Q level. Customer service in California is notoriously bad when it comes to restaurants, but even so, this should be a learning lesson to their business.

Love the Taco Lita. Been coming here for 30 years. It was $8 for a jumbo burrito so their prices are still good in my opinion. The burrito may not look huge in the picture but its good size. I wouldnt call it authentic Mexican food but thats why I like it. I mix it in with other authentic places for something different

Anytime I have business in the Arcadia area, I always make sure to stop by Taco Lita. My favorite items to order are their combo burrito, bean and cheese burrito and their crispy tacos. Service is always amazing and the food comes out very quick. On a side note..The last time I went they didn’t have any of their Taco Lita sauce, but they do have the Heinz taco sauce for the time being.

A true Southern California legend with iconic food. Negative reviews are from people that just dont understand how special this establishment is. The food is so good people drive across the country just to come back here. My mouth waters just thinking about the bean & cheese burritos. Edit: the only people that like this place have been eating there for 40 years.Are you kidding me? Anyone giving this place 5 stars is out of their mind. I grew up in Arcadia, seen and drove by this place a million times, never been there. So today I go because I figure I would try it. Sure, south el monte Is just down the street where I can get some really good Mexican food, but Im going to stay close and try this place., You know when I realized I was in trouble? There wasnt a single Mexican, Asian, person of color in the place, worker, customer, etc, and it was FULL on a Saturday. It was as if I traveled back in time to 1970s Arcadia. And it should have been. Because this is probably what middle America considered Mexican food in 1970. Hard premade taco shell, ground beef, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce. ASIDE from the fact that there was zero diversity to the demographic here at Taco Lita, I also didnt smell any nice Mexican food aromas because there was no frying going on, no grilling going on, NADA. The prep line was an assembly line with hard taco shells under a heat lamp, shredded cheese, lettuce, sliced tomato, and a tub of lean ground beef, which appeared unseasoned, and unsauced. I still ordered. I ordered tacos and a burrito. It came out fast. I smelled the bag, no smell. I unwrapped the taco. It was so packed with lettuce the half a slice of tomato sitting on top fell off. I took a bite. No flavor. No salt. Nothing. I opened a packet of their Taco Lita hot sauce. It is similar to taco Bell mild sauce. That could not save the taco. I basically felt like I was eating cheddar cheese and lettuce. Because the meat had zero flavor, the hard corn shell wasnt salted, there was no fresh salsa, pico de gallo, no limes, no jalepenos, nothing!!! I literally put down my taco after 3 bites, stared at it, and threw everything away. I muttered to myself what did I just eat? $15 worth of wasted food. Honestly the nachos at 7-11 are better. The tacos at Jack in the Box have more flavor. This is literally the Mexican food you would serve a 2 year old child because babies like bland food with cheese. Im sorry Taco Lita. Photos of my obviously bland taco are attached here to document my observations and my sole opinion of this place.

I got ground beef, bean & cheese burrito(combo burrito).It was yummy, hot meat w/melted cheese & beans. Very tasty. I only wish 🤞 that T.L. would go back to their homemade sauce(wouldve loved to try(compared to Heinz taco sauce. Tortilla was sort of greasy too. Service was fast & courteous. Huge parking lot.

Dont expect a standard taco. We crave their food we will drive 30 minutes each way to get it. They have the most tasty and unique taco meat. They used to have their own sauce that was yummy but they havent had it in a few years. If there was a taco restaurant in Happy Days it would look exactly like Taco Lita. Super retro but not chic retro from the building to the tables inside and they people that work there! If your in the area give a try and support small local business.

Taco Lita is known for and wide. Many local residents love Taco Lita. There is a consistency in its food thats been there since they opened. They no longer have their favorite sauce and that is a bone of contention for our local residents. They do carry sauce however. I recommend trying Taco Lita.

This is old school hard shell tacos from the 70s and 80s. The ground beef is perfectly seasoned and goes perfectly with the creamy shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and a slice of tomatoe. What really makes this taco is their special mild Taco Lita taco sauce. I put about 4 to 5 of these per taco! So good! Three of these tacos are perfect for a meal. There is also their massive burritos which have huge amounts of their refried beans, seasoned ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes. Two people can eat it, easily. They have a Wednesday special: 3 tacos and a drink for $8.95, and a Friday special: 5 tacos for $8.95. These are great deals since a taco is $2.45 each. Go try!!!

It is the most butter fat cheese in a burrito known to mankind. If you have good to average cholesterol, I suggest the quesadilla...give a few minutes to make sure all the cheese is equally melted, then as you eat the first half holding it vertical, all of the melted butter fat will settle to the bottom leaving a very rich cheesy delicious butter fat mess, worthy of several napkins, to finish off your enjoyment. Its a butter fat thing...if you like butter fat.

We tried the jumbo burrito lita sandwich, meat quesadilla, tostada, and of course the tacos . The burrito had little flavor all though it was HUGE, the tostada was a mound of lettuce hiding a small tostada shell, the quesadilla was just a big cheese burrito. So that left the lita sandwich and the tacos, as long as you use the taco sauce they were good all though the shells were a little on the stale side . I will come back when Im in the area wanting a quick bite it wasnt bad but it wasnt what I was expecting. I wish I was able to try the lita sauce but thats been replaced with HEINZ taco sauce unfortunately. The young man at the counter was very friendly and informative, thank you to him for the hospitality. All in all not bad for a quick bite as long as you put the taco sauce on whatever you get .

My other half loves this place. Hes been going since he was a kid. Absent the Taco Lita sauce, we both like that the ground beef tastes like it should, not like some unknown filler. The Heinz sauce has flavor, but no heat (Im OK with that). The line moves quickly. Be sure to call to confirm hours.

Do you love a favorable and crunchy taco? I do. What about fresh and divine fillings? I do. But more importantly, what about the quality and taste of the sauce? This place is off the hook in every respect, especially their taco sauce. Yes, its a small place with seating and ample parking, but note the service is the best. I travel afar to get there, but when I crave Litas tacos, the trip is worth it.

I hope that some day they are able to get the original Lita sauce back but in the meantime the substitute sauce is satisfactory. Unless I went on an off day, these were literally some of the worst burritos my family and I have ever had. They tasted exactly like generic canned refried beans in a tortilla. I only went here on a suggestion from a friend who raved about the taco Lita sauce packets. Which they didnt even have. My kids even told me how bad the food tasted and I felt bad after taking them there. I always give places 3 chances, but I wont visit here again until their legendary sauce packets return. Everyone deserves a 2nd or even 3rd chance!

The feel of the place is straight out of 1967. The staff are definitely proud of the restaurant. The food was good, basic and simple, which, from what the delightful lady at the counter told me, is their goal. The burrito (without beans for me), was a little bit bland at first. But once I added Taco Litas apparently locally famous taco sauce, it took on a whole new flavor profile. It was, in the end, a great burrito!

This had been a staple for our family for years now. I wish it was the Taco Lita of old. Every time we have gone the past few years, the taco shells are ALWAYS stale, the meat is usually not even warm, and they no longer make their signature sauce. Simply put, this place is running purely on the nostalgia of what it used to be. Any other locals that have frequented it over the years should absolutely agree. What used to be a monthly staple is now forever off our radar.

The owner has worked there since we were in H.S. in the mid 80s. She wasnt nice or full of smiles than and now that she owns it, she still isnt. The gentleman that work there are the most friendly.Not a practical place to eat inside. Theyve NEVER done any upgrades. They could make it more inviting. Add in booths so people can actually sit together instead of in a line against the wall on a cement bench. Many people talk about this.Youd think they could afford napkins? Evidently they cant. They have the worse fine paper napkins.

This was the absolute most terrible tacos Ive ever had in my life. These tacos taste worse than Taco Bell on their worst day. They microwave the quesadilla? Thats disgusting.... they only offer beef no other tacos. If i could rate this place less than one star i would... i read the reviews and i was excited because it was close to where i was staying and was let down completely. Maybe and a strong maybe probably not good either way. But if your drunk maybe their good and i highly doubt that. So do yourself a favor and go to a food truck anywhere and youll be happy rather than this place.

I have been going there since I was a kid so it holds fond memories for me. If you are looking for very authentic Mexican food this is NOT your place. It is a plain version closer to very old, retro Taco Bell or Naugles, but huge portions! I think it is better. The ingredients are really fresh, the fry up their own taco shells no prefab box shells. The burritos are thicker than my arm. So for me I can get 2 servings, unless Im super hungry. Its worth a try even for some old nostalgia. Btw, its haunted. Lots of stories of the ghost on the internet. Ive known people who say they have seen it. I dont know. I dont use the bathroom there.

There was a Taco Lita in Ontario when my wife and I were teenagers. I loved the ground beef tacos and she loved the combo burrito. I found out about this one and decided to drive from Hesperia to try it.The food tasted just a good as we remembered it. Will definitely be coming back. I grew up with Taco Lita. I love it. I took a $25.00 Uber there this evening. Unfortunately, they had ZERO Taco Lita Sauce > Their trademark. They stocked up on some Del Sol sauce which didnt cut it. People were from out of state and angry. >>>> I know the owners. I just want to say, when Taco Lita started making people buy their 10packs/20packs, etc of Taco sauce, they should have kept the high demand in mind. I watched over 25 people walk out in less than 5 minutes. They were still taking orders, not informing the customers. It was disappointing to say the least.

I have been a long time customer. What makes Taco Litas 50s Americana style Cali-Mex food is their amazing hot sauce that is literally like no other. As many will say, this isnt authentic Mexican food. I was helping at a friends shop a few years ago and was asked if I was hungry, I said sure grab me a burrito. They returned with Taco Lita combo burritos. Ingredients so simple I could make this at home. Growing up forced to eat their food for years. I have learned that the food isnt really that great its quite plain at best, the real treasure is actually the sauce. From the sparse almost surgical glass box in a glass box reptile enclosure entrance and eating area, to the robotic monotone Stepford staff, it was a weird bizarre Twilight Zone experience. I got the taco and bean and cheese burrito special. The burrito is my favorite of the two because it is tasty and it is a decent size for the price. The only bad thing is the sitting situation. You have to sit shoulder to shoulder, and in between two people theres a little table. I wouldnt recommend coming here with a group of people due to the sitting situation, but if you dont mind it then it is a good place for Mexican food.

Limited menu, limited flavor! This was one of the weakest taco shops I have been to in Southern California. This is the food that I imagine white mothers in the Midwest cook and call Mexican Food. Southern California has so many places with better Mexican food. The building was really old school with plastic built-in chairs and benches made out of tile. The burritos were laden with flavorless ground beef and tons of refried beans - most likely from a can. It seems to be a place that has a following as customers came in when I was there, but this was a severe disappointment. An example was instead of prepared salsas in small cups that are more typical of taco shops, there were packets of sauce branded with the Taco Lito name. I do not know the area well, and am unsure of other options, but I have to imagine that there are places with a more expanded menu and more robust flavors. If this is your only option in the area, try a burger that day.

Similar to what you may have had at Del Taco or Taco Bell but what makes Taco Lita stand out above the rest is the freshness of their ingredients, made fresh every day, and the simplicity and no gimmick menu.
