As soon as you walk in they greet you. We were seated within five minutes. If you have not try the beef tongue curry noodles it is a must! I love how they kept checking in on us and refilling our water.Recommend getting the thicker broth. Ramen and food was so delicious!We would definitely come back again when we are in the area.

Great little ramen shop that has some good variety on the menu to enjoy with your ramen bowl. The pork broth was rich and flavorful smaller in size compared to other ramen shops Ive been to for the same prize, but good nonetheless. Cant go wrong with any of the proteins on a skewer

Excellent service and the food was delicious. It is the best ramen and appetizer place in all of elk Grove. I got their oysters, which I forgot to take a picture of, but it was amazing. Service has always been top notch. Every time I go I highly recommend it to everyone who wants good Ramen.

The staff was super friendly and the place was cozy. I wouldnt take a massive party there with you, but a group of 4 is nice. The food was crazzzzzy good. The grilled oysters were 🤌🏾. As a Latino, Ive had beef tongue in Tacos and as a dish. It never even crossed my mind that this could be a Ramen curry dish. 🍛 WOW! Absolutely love it!

11/2023 The unagi was good, I didnt like too much sauce on my rice but still decent. The fried squid legs were decent too.3/2023 Good food and service. I like the interior. The spicy tonkotsu is good, not too spicy. Deep fried tofu is delicious, soft, and smooth inside, recommended. The pork belly is a bit salty, not too bad.

This is hands down the best ramen place to go from start to finish. When you walk the stuff instantly makes you feel welcomed. We have been coming here for quite some time and the staff makes an effort to remember you and make a connection. We have love trying the different skewers and specials they have and never disappoints. My BF loves R3 and I love to try different ones but my favorite is R4 spicy no ground pork. If you love ramen and good vibes this is the place to go and try everything!

Everything we eat is amazing nothing was out of place. I gave it a 4 star cause my party was mostly kids a 5 month to a 6 years old and was charge for gratuity 20%. I kinda find that to be unfair. Cause my 5 month does eat.

Suggested by someone I know and I enjoyed the ramen quite a bit. Was sad that I couldnt get the Pork Belly Skewer though. It wasnt mentioned that it was only for dinner. *Ahem, I blame the person who suggested the place.*Ended up getting some deep fried Gyoza instead which was still a win in my book. 🤤🤤

Ramen is excellent! Get it with thicker broth. I recommend starting with standard tonkatsu then get spicy on your next trip. Yakitori is good but I wouldnt say amazing. Flavor of their house sauce is good. Their curry is spot on for Japanese curry tho their katsu is a little dry. Gyozas are typical. Their gyozas sauce is good.Theyre service today was very good. Very patient, attentive, and accommodating. They let my wife order her curry katsu don with udon noodles which was very nice. They definitely earned their well deserved tip.Ill definitely be back to try their other appetizers and for their ramen.

What a great experience! The staff was phenomenal, A+! One thing I find staff dont do consistently is checking for water refills. Here? Always come back to refill our water just a little after we finished our water. Please keep up the great work!The food was a wonderful serenade on the tongue. Of the yakitori we tried, the A5 wagyu was hands down the best! The chicken thigh and chicken wing yakitori left a lot to be desired however, especially after the A5 wagyu. However, the main entrées made up for the slight disappointment of the chicken yakitoris. We ordered the chicken katsu don and the hiyashi chuka cold ramen. What can I say about them other than **chefs kisses**?! The katsu don was just the perfect combination of sauce, eggs, chicken, green onions, and rice. 🤤 It came with pickled(?) ginger as well, but it was too strong for us so we took it out.The cold ramen was also done very well and the flavor profile was such a delight! The ramen eggs was so wonderful to round out the ramen, and its hard to find the perfect ramen egg in my ramen half the time so props to them!We rounded it off with a taiyaki ice cream (strawberry flavored) and it was a great choice! It was nice and cold for the weather, and just the right amount of sweetness, but not overly sweet, to end the savory dinner!The environment was also a nice cultural mix as well. Welcomed in Japanese, can hear some Chinese conversation between the staff, nice early 2000s American music, and they had a Korean tennis match on TV. 🤣

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted in Japanese and shown to my table. The ambiance and my server, Henry, was very welcoming. The food was immaculate! I had the Tonkatsu ramen, Orion beer, and A5 wagyu beef. I was blown away by how tasty everything was. A perfectly soft boiled egg, the chashu, the noodles! I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed my meal. Ill be coming back again, and there is no doubt in my mind that I will never be disappointed.

My son wanted noodles for dinner so went in for ramen. I ordered the edamame, deep fried squid and pork tonkatsu ramen. The edamame was perfectly cooked. The deep fried squid paired with the mayo sauce was delicious. Its seasoned really well and its not overly battered. The star of the meal was the pork tonkatsu ramen. My picky eater son ate 2/3 of the ramen and drank up the broth. He absolutely loved it. Customer service was amazing. Staff was attentive and friendly. They even offered us a pair of scissors to cut up the ramen for my son. Will definitely be back to try their other items.

Halfheartedly went here last night because we loved the previous restaurant at the same location. So glad we went. My daughters and I left in awe of how good it was, the bomb as they said. The food was so delicious that we are going back tonight. We especially enjoyed the curries and donburi. Only one selection for our pescatarian. Staff could not be nicer. Very busy, happy to see that for them.

Our server was so friendly! We got some skewers and ramen. The wagyu skewer was good. We got it with sauce, but I think I would try it with salt next time since wagyu already has a rich flavor. I loved the beef tongue skewers.

I had their chicken katsu-don, the chicken was fried perfectly as it was still surprisingly tender while still having a nice crunch. The best I have had in the Sacramento area. I will definitely come again to try their ramen.

Ive wanted to go here for a while and Im so happy we finally did. The staff was amazing, I wish I got the name of our server because she was so kind and friendly to us and our baby. Everyone was kind really but she was top notch for sure. The food was all very good. We had a bit of everything. My favorites were the chicken karage and the chicken thighs skewers. The ramen was also very delicious. Cant wait to come again and try some different dishes.

My all time favorite foods are served here! Katsudon, katsu curry, shrimp tempura curry, and croquette curry. I have been let down by other Elk Grove restaurants trying to find katsudon that actually follows the actual Japanese recipe (side eyeing Satori Sushi and a few other places so hard right now 😡).Im not a person who thinks only Japanese people can make good Japanese food, thats silly. But I do like it to have the right flavors etc if its not presented as fusion or a spin on traditional foods. Most of the Japanese restaurants in our area are run by lovely people from many ethnicities. I like to know ahead of time so that I dont do something dumb like order the items in Japanese (sometimes I forget and ask for ramen kata me and then feel like I was both dumb and rude when the server is like Uhhh what now?). I used to live there and it kind of comes back when youre having the food!The staff here is not Japanese but they are super excited about making good food and greeting customers. Tanukis food is authentic and tastes good. The staff is polite and pays attention to detail. Everyone makes you feel welcome. I have been here maybe 10 times and ordered both dine-in and takeout and the order is always accurate, huge portions, and delicious. The curry is exquisite. For you white people, it may be a bit on the hot side of medium compared to store bought Japanese curry roux. It pairs well with croquettes and shrimp tempura!This restaurant is not good for bringing someone to if you want to talk quietly about deep stuff, Its small and loud like a good ramen shop tends to be. We always end up watching the TVs. There is usually something on with k-pop. No, its not those 2 very famous in the US groups that start with B, so stop asking lol. Its stuff with older SM or JYP artists hosting a variety show or some mvs. I tend to see stuff with Eunhyuk and Donghae from SuJu on the screen a lot I think. I have seen a ranking awards show but it was an old one.I really like the decor. They invested well in it and its very nice.If I could ask for an item that they dont already have, I would like matcha latte, soba noodles, chuka soba, yakisoba, or kids size items. A small ramen or udon with fish cake in it would be super! My kids eat like soooo little and they never want the same thing as each other so having them share is out.I would also adore if they did DoorDash for delivery! Because parking here SUCKS.All in all a solid 5 stars. Thank you!

We went in lunch time and my wife ordered a miso ramen and I ordered katsu don. My wife liked ramen and I liked katsu don (to be honest, I grew up eating a lot of katsu don in Japan, so it was nothing special although I liked it). It was a bit pricey (like you eat in the Bay Area), but we would go back again.

This place is ok. The Donburi rice bowls were better than the ramen. The Tonkatsu broth was a bit on the light side (good if you want a lighter broth). The Cha Shu had a nice extra touch with a flame sear. The noodles were disappointing, they tasted like they came out of a Sapporo Instant Ramen packet and had zero bounce to the texture.If you’re looking for a light bowl of ramen, then this is the place for you. But if you’re expecting thick, rich broth that coats your mouth, this is not the place.

Tanuki offers a wonderful and mellow atmosphere with great food and service. Though its currently in a soft opening state, the limited menu is still great. Would definitely come back. Would recommend to try their Hiyashi Chukka (Cold) Ramen.

Best ramen in Elk Grove by far. The broth is amazing and the meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth. They also offer yakitori for dinner. The A5 wagyu is a must!
