I’ve been coming here all my life. Since they were open, while I was in High School. The food has always been excellent. I always order either iced jasmine green tea with calamari. The service is fast, especially the Cashier lady. She always welcome me and showed me how to order to save money. She is very nice and friendly. We order here every week.

Tapioca express in Union City is one of the most consistent tapioca spots in the Bay Area. Good quality drinks and snacks with a friendly atmosphere. They make the best mango boba drink in Fremont. it’s called mango snow bubble. Get it with boba and it’s incredibly delicious 🤤 Service is okay, they don’t accept apple pay or credit card, that’s the only gripe I have about this store.

I’ve been to this tapioca for the longest time before there was any other boba spots to go to. Every time I walk in it just brings me back to when me and friends or family would hang out here.the atmosphere is always lively, the cashier and staff is always inviting and makes your orders super fast. There is hardly ever a wait. I always get the milk tea and it’s the best I don’t go anywhere else but here. Thanks for still being open after so long. Come check them out :)

As a regular, I feel appreciated that the employees remember me when I visit and are very friendly when taking and handing out my order. Their drinks and food are very consistent and delicious. I’ve been coming to this place every since I was a high schooler back in 2004. My friends and I heard about this place so we went to check it out. We ordered the spicy chicken. Highly recommend! The nice crispy chicken with the amazing seasoning and choosing the amount of spiciness to fit your comfort levels makes this one of my favorites. They have other foods as well, potstickers for example. The services are nice and they get your order out pretty quickly. They have many selection of drinks, from tapioca to milk teas to smoothies. If you’re in the area and find this, please check this out. I’ve been coming here for years and always leave happy.

I always get strawberry milk tea w/ boba with pepper fries. The boba is really chewy and delicious while the fries always comes out crispy and spicy just like how I want it. The cashier lady always greets me with a smile and it’s adorable when she refers to me as “my friend.” The atmosphere here is really nostalgic since I’ve gone here with my dad since I was about 6 years old.

My Fiancé and I have been coming back to this location for years. We came almost everyday during our Freshman year of high school and now we are 29 years old lol. The Crispy chicken here is the best. If you don’t like spice, you can always try the 0.5 for the flavor. If you like it a little more spicy you can bump it up to a 1-2. And if you want to sweat for a little bit, you can get a level 5 haha. My go to order is the Combo A! Comes with a Milk tea and Crispy chicken! I prefer my milk tea with small pearls and spice level 2. When you go up to the counter you say, “Can I get a Combo A. Regular. Small Pearl. Spice level 2” if you say it fast, the cashiers respect you because it makes their job easy because they always got a long line. Try them out. Love this place. Definitely the best Crispy chicken and Milk tea in the Bay!

Tapioca Express is a Union City staple. I hardly ever try anything other than the spicy chicken, my strawberry yogurt boba, and potstickers, but every time I go in, its quality. The lady that works up front is super sweet and greets us happily each time she sees us, and she remembers our order now so I guess were considered regulars. I love this place and encourage all to stop by and check out their vast and expensive menu, or just stick to spicy chicken and boba!

Went here after dinner at Sama Uyghur next door - highly recommend Sama!Pretty standard boba shop. Long line at 10 pm but it moved and wasn’t long after we ordered - maybe just poor timing for us. Good amount of seating. We ended up splitting the mango ice cream (they were out of sesame). Forget the name, but it was about #270 on the menu! I couldn’t believe how long the menu was.The ice cream was even better than we expected - tasted like real mango. We also had mango cubes, pudding, and little jellies. But I was just impressed with the ice cream.We sat outside backyard it was noisy inside. Outside was chilly and a lot of people kept driving up in noisy, supped up cars. It was kinda fun to watch the people just hanging out with their cars.Overall, pretty much what I expected. Ice cream very good, seating and environment just average. Bonus points for being the only place open so late (we even tried to get cones and sit in Burger King, but they close at 10!). Tapioca Express was open til 1, they were still busy when we left at midnight (Saturday night).

Lets start with the good. Their drinks are tasty and they have a lot of good snacks too. Most popular would be their popcorn chicken and calamari. My favorite is the fried fish tempura.Service is NEVER friendly nor fast. Wait time depends on what time you come here but the rude service is always. Its something I dont mind as other quickly and tapioca dont serve the snack that I like the same.

Their popcorn chicken is really good but way too expensive for just a little bag with barely any pieces. you get a small bag with about 8 or 9 nugget-sized pieces for $8.50. i ordered 2 so i can get one for my friend and it ended up costing me $26.00 along with a drink. they need to lower the price for such a small bag of chicken. if yall can just get pricing and customer service on point, your business would be booming.but nah.

Today I went to the store on Decoto Road and I confess that I have never been so disrespected in my entire life. The cashier was so rude, so disrespectful, he made my order wrong several times and when I questioned the extra amount on my bill, he simply told me that it was not his problem, the same attitude I saw repeated with other customers. I ordered chicken popcorn without pepper and after 20 minutes my chicken arrived red from so much pepper, when I asked to change this boy with dyed blonde hair and totally ignorant, he threw the package and said I would have to wait again. When I ran out of lunch time I went to talk to him again and he simply told me to keep waiting or he would refund the money. At the end I said I would talk to Mr. Shi, the store owner and this clerk told me, I dont care, you can talk to whoever you want, Im done of you. Every week my co-workers and I place numerous orders at this store but I will never return to this place again. Detail: I saw several claims like that in the Google Review.

Ordered multiple popcorn chickens for my friends and I today after school but felt very disappointed if I’m being honest. Cashier lady turned around and complained to her coworkers in mandarin right after I ordered, thinking I couldn’t understand her, and said, “These students are so annoying*, they don’t even know how to order,” (*way ruder term). Honestly I don’t mind if she thinks I didn’t speak clearly enough, she just had to tell me and I could repeat what I said. This is one of my all time favourite places. They have one of the best fried chicken(popcorn chicken) and popcorn fish I have tried in the baybarea!!Also in the evenings on Fridays/weekends this spot doubles as the hangout spot for local car enthusiasts. This is my first time here and I didnt know they dont take credit card, even you pay by debit card they will still charge you $1 service fee for that, it doesnt make any sense ? I understand the banker will charge fee for the credit card or debit card but a dollar is too high, 50 cents is acceptable . I have been coming to this place for so many years but Im guessing that now that we are in quarantine they cant afford many of their employees so the owners are the ones at the front. Sadly to say that their service is horrendous, they talk down to the customers for no reason. They dont know how to communicate well and end up insulting the customer. I wish I could say the food was super good, but I never had a chance to try it. When I ordered my tea, I tried to add something they had called exploding boba. The lady punched it in, and I was trying to tell her the flavour of boba I wanted because there are three flavours. I started to think it was a different drink or something, but she kept trying to give me another drink in that flavour instead of the boba. She was incredibly rude and got visibly angry with me very fast. I ended up getting a plain tea. The next lady wanted boba in hers, and kept repeating it into the microphone, over and over, but the cashier ignored her (or the speaker happened to just stop working...?)When given my drink, the cashier was still incredibly rude, so I didn’t want to go back in out of fear I would get something I didn’t want because this lady has horrible customer service skills.

Very arrogant customer service. I asked why I was getting charged an extra dollar for a debit/credit card transaction. The cashier lady responded, Im telling you this because is what Im supposed to tell you. She said it in an upset tone of voice. I believe is how you say things, and not necessarily what you say. Not friendly. Plus a 25% extra charge (debit) over the price of a tapioca drink is too much. Also, the drinks have a sugar overkill. I will never go there again.

My experience at Tapioca Express was very umpleasant.My daughters asked if they could stop off and get some of their chicken. As an Afican American family, my youngest daughter went into the place of business with a MasterCard Gift card to purchases 2 small oders of chicken.The lady behind the counter taking the order RUDELY said to my daughter they dont take them cards but she also had cash money.My daughter came back out to the car and told me what happen. I politely when back into Tapioca Express. I waited patiently until she (the lady taking to order to finish completing the order before us). Once she was finish waiting on the other customers, she immedialtly began taking plastic bags out of a large box and I said I would like to order and this lady told me I had to wait. Mind you, I had been waiting for 15 minutes just order. I asked again, I would like to order. I was told once again I needed to wait. I wait with disbelieveOnce she was ready after waiting for so long, we were finally asked if she could take our order. I politely told her never mind and walk out of Tapioca Express to NEVER return there AGAIN.Ive been in this Community for over 25 years and this is one of the first time my family had to experiences this type of behavior from a place of Establishment

I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite to eat and a refreshing drink!! I always get the spicy Thai basil chicken level 5. It’s dpi but not too spicy, just right!! I also get the mango/peach icy with lychee jelly it’s very refreshing and you should definitely try both! This place is honestly one of my favorite spots to come get my boba and the best spicy Thai chicken basil. Best time to get it is during lunch time on a hot day or any day for that matter!

Recently I visit one of the Tapioca Express in Union City. The food over there is ok, but not the service. There is a lady name Cindy who took my order. I order a Eel Bento with a green tea and eat over there. She asked me spicy or not? That seems a strange question for Eel Bento. I am not ordering Popcorn Chicken something like that. The next question she ask me was what size for the drink? I don’t know what size they have, so I asked what size come with it. She didn’t say anything just point her pen to the sample cups. There are two of it and I need to make a guess what size it should come with the meal. I can tell by her face that she is not friendly no smile at all and the voice not nice. Finally pass all the questions test and sat down wait for my order. When my order is ready she call out a table number instead of the ticket number. I almost missed my order. When I go there to pick it up I only saw my Bento is on the counter. I wait a bit until she look at me. I said I didn’t get my drink. She replied because she didn’t see me, then she started bring out my drink from behind the counter. If because I didn’t show up right away, why not hide everything but just the drink or why hide the drink not the Bento? I think this is an excuse because she forgot. I normally eat with the fork and not chopsticks, so I ask for a fork. She ask me back said “you don’t eat with chopsticks?”.Well, what kind of question is that? If I eat with chopsticks, I wouldn’t ask for a fork. Anyway anyone don’t like being get challenge, don’t come here. The End!

Ive been their customers since their grand opening over 10+ years ago. Best authentic Taiwanese fishcake (甜不辣), popcorn chicken with basil salt-n-peper, crispy hot juicy meaty chicken fillet that will fulfill your daily protein demand, aldente calamari tentacles… Bobas always fresh and pre-soaked in sugar syrup, soft and tenderly chewy. I order all my boba drinks with 1/4-1/2 sweetness and less ice as personal preference. Awsome mango snow shave ice rivels even some overseas Taiwanese places (but still cant beat juicy Taiwanese Aiwen mangos locally grown there). Tis the only place I go for Taiwanese boba drink and street eats.Keep up the great job TapEx, and please continue to update your menu to sync with the current Taiwanese fads! (Hint: dark brown sugar syrup laced in dark sugar bobas in whole fresh creamed milk!)Yes, be ready for lines and wait.Cant comment much on front line service as I try to come on non-peak times and just order to go (to avoid secondhand smoke and the lines thats stressing out the young staff). Boba done right, every time! Have been coming here for over 10 years because the boba is never hard, always soft.
