Big ol tacos, the carnitas was the best Ive ever had, and I lived in LA for two years. good prices too, $3 for a very reasonably sized taco FULL of meat. salsa packs some heat too, loved it. support local, eat here and not taco bell
It was my first visit there. I had the Carnitas burrito. It was very tasty. Cant complain the service was good.And it was a quaint little space. Nice.UPDATE... do not use your ATM card here. They want to charge you an exorbitant amount of fee just to use your own money. I paid in cash

Tiny place, big flavor! I was attempting an all day workshop at Steinbeck Center. Many nearby restaurants were closed, and I found this place. Super friendly service, but not much seating. 10 of us filled up the place. There are a couple tables outside but this place seems like a take out type rather than eat in. No ambiance. Delicious food.

This place is amazing!! you will not regret going there. The Cook/owner is always in a good mood and goes out of his way to please. you can even custom make whatever you want. one of those places where you can make yourself at home and attracts good clientele.

Im like wat wat wat .And it was soooooo super saltyThen I ask for some pancakes and o brother they wear not fully cook never again Im going there .
Tortillas are freshly made by hand the moment you order them! The meat in my taco was tender and perfect seasoning The salsa with the right amount of spiciness! Simply delicious

Dont remember the ladies name not sure if shes the owner, one day I was having breakfast with my wife when a customer walks in and asked how much was the quesadilla the lady said it was $11.99 and asked if he would like to order one...the man responded no cuz he didnt have enough money and started walking out...the lady didnt let him walk away just like that she called him to come back and asked him how much money do you have?...he answered $10...to Wich she answered that there was no problem and just like she had asked other customers that had ordered the same quesadilla she asked him what type of meat would you like and still offered if he would like some salsa on the side and asked him if he didnt want anything to drink and insisted to grab something to drink ...that it was ok with the $10 dollars he had that he could grab something to drink as well .... To me is something people dont see everyday or in other restaurants...other restaurants would not even process your order if youre short a couple of cents

El Burrito King is a hidden gem of an authentic Mexican restaurant. Tucked away on Midtown Lane between South Main Street and Monterey Street (North of East Alisal Street) is a small restaurant with a huge selection of delicious food. There are breakfast burritos mixed with potatoes, tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos, machaca and eggs, tortas, chile verde, quesadillas, mariscos (seafood), etc. My favorite is the carne asada taco with hand-made corn tortillas and the carne asada cooked to order. Generous portions of meat fill the corn tortillas and then topped with fresh cilantro, onions, and tomatoes are wonderfully delicious. The machaca (shredded beef) and eggs burrito with potatoes is another favorite.El Burrito King was recently updated with new tables and chairs. Service is quick and staff friendly. Prices are very reasonable for the huge portions (Carne asada taco $2.25; and machaca and egg burrito $4.75.It is worth finding this hidden gem in Old Town Salinas.

2023-07-05 18:31:13Burrito King is a hidden gem located just off Main St. In downtown Salinas.Im so happy to have found it this morning while looking for a place to get a bite to eat. And I might have walked right past had it not been for the sign on Main to advertise for the restaurant down the walkway. I ordered the breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes and cheese and it was both delicious and filling.I also brought horchata back to the office for my office manager. She loves it.Note: I got in and out with my to-go order in about 5 minutes at 11am.

I’ve came here multiple times because my grandma likes the food but meanwhile you’re eating the lady just stares and doesn’t let you enjoy your food. She expects you to eat and get up right away and leave. The other day I went with my sister and my neice and nephew, my nephew is 1 year old and very impatient he threw two napkins on the floor and one fork but keep in mind he’s only 1. As we were leaving the lady in a low voice told my sister next time she goes to not let her son make a mess! How is one fork and two napkins a mess? I work at a restaurant a much bigger restaurant and I’m a waitress and I don’t tell people stuff when kids make a mess! There kids! If you don’t wanna be cleaning then don’t have a restaurant.

2018-09-01 22:01:37According to their take out menu, they close at 3pm on Saturday. According to the times posted at their business, they close at 2pm on Saturday. Got their at 1:35pm and was refused service because they said that were closed. Door still open and people are still inside eating. Cleaning is done after business hours posted not before. Wasted my time coming here today.
