We went at 4pm on a Wednesday. No crowd, minimal wait for the food. Staff was very friendly and everything was delicious! We had the carne asada, shrimp fajitas, tacos, and chicken quesadillas. Will definitely eat here again when were in the area.
Personally, I think 4.50 a taco is a little pricey. However, the meat was plentiful and the flavor was good and the beers were cold. Dont go hungry cuz we waited 40 minutes for our food.
It’s a Michelin guide taqueria. Beef cheek beef tongue are most order. The meat is tender and juicy. I enjoy the seafood options too.
2stars means edible but not great. I stopped here at about 5pm and ordered a burrito. The restaurant was almost empty, but it took 30minutes to get my food. The burrito was okay, but pretty bland and the chicken was rather chewy.

First time here, great mom and pop taqueria. I ordered the beef cheek super burrito and a carnitas burrito. The cabeza was delicious soft and juicy, the burrito was well balanced with rice, beans, sour cream and guacamole. It was also huge. Plenty to take home. The caritas burrito was really porky and crunchy, awesome. The salsa bar has lot to choose from and all the salsas were fresh and really good. Great place to get your burrito 🌯 fix. I’ll be back when I return to the San Bruno.
I craved good Mexican food and this place was nearby with good reviews so I decided to give it a try.The first time I went here I ordered the tostada ceviche and a shrimp taco. Im very particular about my ceviche and this place made it excellent. A little too much lime but better to be that way than to be fishy. The shrimp taco was okay. I think it wouldve been better if it had a lime on it. It was too fishy for my taste. But I normally drench my fish in lime to begin with. So to each their own.Most of the time its free chips and salsa. The green is the mild/medium and its really not that spicy. But the red one definitely has a kick!The second time I went I ordered the bean and cheese burrito and a carne asada taco. It was soooo delicious. My friend ordered a veggie burrito and loved it. It was huge!!I honestly think the amount they charge here and the amount of food you get here is totally worth it.The people are also super friendly and nice. If Im back in the area Id definitely stop on by. Parking kinda sucks during busy hours but well worth it on its off times!
Tacos were so good. Tried beef cheeks for the first time and was not disappointed. It was my favorite meat, so tender! Cozy atmosphere and kind service. Will definitely be a stop every time I visit SF from now on.
After struggling to find parking, we entered a nice and busy store and ordered some burritos and tacos. The wait was very, VERY long - around an hour - but I did enjoy the food.
Food was good. Al pastor burrito was my highlight. The wait for food was almost an hour unfortunately. Make sure to go not during lunch hour.
Hands down one of the best spots for Mexican food in San Francisco. Their al pastor meat is incredible. Its tender, but there are pieces of meat that are nicely crisped up from being roasted on the spit, which add great textural contrast and also deepens the flavor. Portions are great. Tacos are on the pricey side, but they arent shy with their meat toppings and the tortillas they use are on the bigger side. The super burrito is absolutely massive. Their aguas frescas are good, though the horchata was a bit underwhelming when I went. If you dine-in, tortilla chips are on the house. The salsa bar is also nicely assorted (pickled carrots, 3 different salsas of various spice levels, pico de gallo, lemon, sliced jalapenos, and whole jalapenos and serrano peppers). Im a huge fan of their salsa verde. Their dining room is small, so finding a table to sit at can be rough sometimes. However, service is fast despite how busy they get. Overall, Taqueria San Bruno is a must-try for any fanatic of Mexican food.
I have no idea how this place has a 4.6 rating. I ordered a single burrito. The restaurant was half empty on a Sunday and it took 42 minutes to get the burrito. The people next to me also waited 40 minutes for two tacos and a burrito. The burrito is at best 3.5 more like a three star.

Small place in the industrial part of South City serving the best mexican in town. This place can get really busy for weekday work hours. Their carnitas plate is my favorite costing $9.95. Everyone seems to love their green salsa. My friends from out of town loved all their food.
Excellent quality and friendly staff. Parking in the location is a bit tough, might have to walk over a fair bit. My super burrito carne asada was huge and really flavorful. The spicy salsa was very tasty but not too hot. My brother had a shrimp plate and enjoyed it as well. Will definitely be back to try out their other meats.
Located in the cutty outskirts of San Bruno, a light 7 min walk from the San Bruno CalTrain stop. 10 min light walk from Bart, and Tanforan Mall. A tiny Mexican joint, with plenty of seating inside for family and solo dining. Clean bathrooms for you to use. Parking nearby. I went with a super burrito de carne asada con todo. Had to go with a Sprite on the side. Dont by shy to grab the salsas from the bar, and experiment with them. The salsas wont disappoint one bit, trust me. Chips were free so that was great! From my first few bites, already know this was the best burrito in town. I stood there confused because I had to ask myself, why havent I been here?. That was the first thing that came to mind. I live next door in SSF, and I have Taqueria Pencas, Tapatía, Morena, Celaya, Metates, and Farolito; and some other good mentions nearby. All good, and cheap Mexican joints. But those spots do not come close to how GOOD the burrito was from this spot.Meat and ingredients was definitely fresh, and the carne asada was tender and juicier than those spots I have close to home. Had to put the carne asada to the test. Burrito was hittin, felt every bite in my soul.Lady was super kind at the register, and the order came out in about 10 min or less with 5-6+ others waiting for their order as well. Ordered to eat inside. In the meanwhile, I tuned into the Warriors game they had on inside.Burrito was a 5/5, and the salsas made it break the scale. Hands down, best burrito in town and within a 30 mile radius. Sure you can find some great Mexican food heading down SJ. Will definitely choose this spot over every other spot close to home. This is the best burritos we got out here. The mechanics next door definitely love this spot.
A fantastic hole-in-the-wall taqueria! Yummy food, all the traditional menu items. Theres not much seating; most people do take-out. Crowded and sometimes a bit of a wait (especially around meal times), but worth it if youre trying to satisfy a craving.
As far as taquerias go, this one hits the spot. Affordable, delicious food with a wide range of choices. The salsa bar was perfect even though it is small. The cups they use are the perfect size. Not like other places that give you very tiny cups that force you to get more than one of each salsa to suffice. These cups made it so I didnt have to do that. Not sure if its a normal thing but they even had little tangerines in their salsa bar. I like that added touch. The deluxe quesadilla I ordered was perfect for my lunch as well. Will definitely come back when Im in the area again.
Had a couple good experiences but this last one was bad. One day I went and saw them using microwaves in the kitchen big red flag for me anytime I see that. The meat was rubbery and didn’t taste very good. Overall disappointed with my burrito might give them a try again one day but after that experience I’m staying away.
Ive been here 3 times now and I really like the food here. Their meat is cooked really well and their salsas are pretty spot on. Their Red salsa is pretty spicy imo but it tastes really good. I end up using more of the green and pico de Gallo since its also refreshing. I like how much you get. Fresh food takes time but they are super friendly. I recommend calling ahead if you dont want to wait. The super burritos arent too wet to destroy the tortilla which I appreciate. The parking isnt amazing either which is why I would recommend calling ahead and running in to pay and pick up.

Delicious food and very authentic flavors. Ive been looking for a good taco shop, and this is as good as it gets. I had a burrito, which was huge and stuffed with high quality ingredients and meat. The salsa bar is self serve and all of the options were very spicy, just how I like it! Will definitely be back.
I stopped here because it was the closest Mexican restaurant to the airport. It didnt hurt that it was over 4 stars and cheap.I didnt think it was going to be that great, particularly when I drove past the building. But the outside is very unassuming. I recommend everything on the menu, twice!
Best tacos in SF, and reasonable prices. Their meats are juicy and fresh. The shrimp and tripa were our favourites but other notables include the fish, lengua, al pastor, lengua and honestly everything else. The wait can get quite long during lunch and dinner so best to come slightly off peak.UPDATE June 2022Still as good as ever. Tried the Shrimp tacos this trip and I got to say, they are probably my favorite ones.
Hole in the wall taco joint that serves up some of the best Mexican food in the Bay Area period. Extremely close to SFO and well frequented by airline workers, it’s a short visit away and a great spot to get a bite to eat before the flight or if you’re visiting the Costco nearby. They take credit card and are extremely busy with a small kitchen so would recommend calling in orders ahead if you don’t want to wait. Even if you do wait, it’s still fully worth it and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Great portion sizes, great prices, friendly staff.
After visiting my Millbrae DDS (from San Jose) I decided to hit Yelp for some amazing Mexican cuisine recommendations. I thought I had tried them all by now? However, I came upon a 25 year establishment named Taqueria San Bruno on San Mateo. After several loops around the mixed industrial/residential area, I finally squated at the FedEx hub directly across the street. Upon entry, I asked the owner where all his patrons actually park? The answer was FedEx.Down to the review: this authentic establishment may be off the beaten path where parking may be challenging but well worth it in the end. The salsa bar is delicious, chips are perfect in texture, flavor and thickness. The enchiladas are a perfect size with plenty of meat, cheese and sour cream. The rice is fluffy and ideal in color and texture (its all in the rinsing). The soft (only) tacos are savory in their simplicity and their super Burritos are to die for (no lettuce yay). They do not offer tamales but their assorted meats and salsas stand on their own.The service was top notch and I was immediately greeted by the best smile and care. I was served chips and four nice sized to go salsa containers whilst I waited for my large to go order. The place was vibrant, has plasma TVs with local news on and nice murals to keep a solo person visually entertained. The wall of cuisine photos are stellar. Every restaurant should follow suit. Coupled by very friendly patrons, this was an all around fantastic experience, super yum and reasonably priced.For perspective, Im a San Francisco native, finished HS in Pacifica and Im 50% Hispanic and also cook. As mentioned, I thought I had tried them all in the north bay. Suffice it to say, this industrial nestled neighborhood gem is a true sleeper!
Best of San Bruno for sure. I’ve had tacos and burritos here and you can’t go wrong with either. The al pastor is tasty, juicy, and just the right amount of sweet (yes, there are chunks of pineapples). Great stuff. Only bad thing to say is that parking is awful. Street only.

I definitely had an interesting experience! I enjoyed the care that the cashier women provided! Being a minimalist and liking to reduce my one time use utensils, I tried to refuse the fork but she said I will definitely need it! I didn’t know how much she was right LOL. The flavor was pretty good but overall it was a lot of dairy and not much veggies like lettuce, onion, or tomato. But the form factor trying to eat the open face taco will definitely be a fun memory!
So glad we found this little spot, we were looking for somewhere to eat after we left store and I looked up restaurants and this popped up, I saw the pictures and reviews and decided to go to check it out. Food was delicious, portions were huge, great service and prices were low deff will be back when in town.
This is a Michelin recommended restaurant so I had high expectations for this place. Not going to lie, Ive been here before not knowing it was Michelin rated and didnt think too much about it. I dont know if that Michelin sticker changed my perception but man, it was pretty darn good when we ate here last. The portion is huge, flavorful and I love the salsa bar. I ordered a shrimp super burrito while the others got a carne asada and a carnitas. I think the meat to everything else ratio was pretty equal which I love. I cant say its the best burrito Ive had but its definitely good and worth going to. For example, I think Mi Durango is just as good and only a little further down San Bruno yet it is not Michelin rated. I had to minus a star because they didnt have any limes! Also parking can be a drag but we usually just park in the lot across the street. Not sure if were allowed to park there but we havent gotten in trouble.. not yet at least.

First things first, A mom & pop with these levels of reviews must be nothing but hype right ? Nah. the staff is fantastic, the food is crazy good and the atmosphere is very .. Quaint. now why am I knocking down 2 star ? the wait. the wait for food is crazy and the only reason its crazy is because the food is so good. Im the time that I was here I maybe saw 50 or so people walking in just for take out ! I did notice that the phone went unanswered for a while as the staff did become overwhelmed. maybe hire another staff member to work the busy shifts. In total we waited 1 hour and 17 minutes for our food ( 2 tacos and 1 plate burrito) to be made, kind of unacceptable. Other than that, Decent Taqueria at a decent price.

They hype is real. The food portions are huge and delicious. Beer is cheap. Only drawback its no longer a secret. Be prepared for lines and a wait. But its well worth it

Incredibly slow service. Tacos are oily and lack flavor. It took over 45 minutes to get 5 tacos and 1 small quesadilla. They work by order sequence one-by-one. Expect a very long wait.There are much better options out there.

I cant recommend the green salsa, strongly enough. Had the right amount of garlic, which is often missing from most salsas of this style (tomatillo). I would get the grilled fish burrito any day of the week
Excellent food and service. It was super busy on a Thursday night at 7 pm, but they give you chips and offer sauces while you wait. Both red salsas are hot, but the green sauce and Pico were delicious. I had the chicken quesadilla and my partner had enchiladas. HUGE portions, definitely recommend sharing or getting a box to go. Guacamole and beans were nice add ons.
Food taste is fantastic, good portions. It could take a while to get your food, but thats ok since you know the reason is that they are cooking it the right way and that you are not gonna be disappointed. The owners are such great and warm people that provide great costumer service.
Very disappointed. Rice was dry and flavorless. Guacamole had little avocado and mostly mystery, runny filler that tasted like shredded newspaper or wood. Worst guacamole ever with zero flavor.. It was inedible. Plastic containers likely with BPA used for to-go hot food so toxic and non-microwaveable. Zero parking. I parked in a crosswalk near a homeless encampment and was lucky to not get a ticket or have my car broken into. Wasted my time and threw my order in the garbage. Not sure what their ratings or hype is about.
In town on business, looking for a small local restaurant. Came across this because of the reviews and proximity to the airport. Fantastic! Portions are large and everything tastes homemade. Got the super burrito with guac on the side. Also comes with a side of chips. Make sure to take advantage of the salsa bar on the inside. You wont be disappointed

Parking is terrible, the wait took way longer than it needed to be (especially with a hungry toddler) and when I got home to eat the carnitas were burnt and the chicken was dry and rubbery. Ended up throwing half of it away. Next time I’ll stop at Taco Bell on the way home instead. I saw all the good reviews and needless to say I’m extremely disappointed and still hungry.

Its not perfect. Still, their salsa bar, bean and cheese burrito, ambience and staff, makes this a fine Taqueria.Try their ‘large’ steak and eggs breakfast burrito. It’s exceptional. Weighs in at APPX 3Lbs and about a foot long. Pricey, $12 plus w/tax, but worth it! Bypass the guacamole, salsa and sour cream or have them put it on the side, and have them cut your burrito in half.Eat some then, save some for later. Or split your order. Either way you’ll be happy.Btw, they’re open during COVID.Update, 02/20/2021. Well their steak and egg large breakfast burrito is still very tasty, but I’ve notice the steak quality is not the same it once was. Now, I’m finding a little grizzle along with my order. It’s ok.... but it’s not ‘top shelf’ anymore like it once was. However, a fine taqueria like this one, can make the adjustment and go right back to making amazing burritos.

We had the Carnita Super Burito ($16) and the flavors in it and the protein were a pleasant surprise!As size, somewhat smaller than other Burritos from other places. The salsa was good but the tortilla chips store bought and not best quality. The wait for our meal was about 20-30 minutes while the to go orders were leaving very frequently. Well worth the wait! Well return!

My coworkers and I sometimes order lunch from here even though its a bit of a drive from the office, because everyone generally enjoys the food. However, my experience here last week has turned me off to this place forever.As usual, 7 or 8 of us ordered and brought the food back to the office. As I was about halfway through, I felt something weird in my mouth, and when I pulled it out, it was a sharp metal wire!! And not a tiny little wire (though in hindsight, its probably better that it was big, otherwise I couldve accidentally swallowed it!) Needless to say, I was very upset. I immediately called TSB and told the girl what happened, and her response was Oh it was probably just a piece of foil or something to which I calmly responded that it was definitely not aluminum foil, it was an actual wire. She was like Okay ill give you your money back for the burrito, no apology, nothing. I commented that we deserved our money back for the whole order but I didnt actually expect that, I was just annoyed that she was being dismissive as though I made it up. We had paid on a credit card so I asked her how we would get the money back - would she just credit the amount back to the card? With an attitude she goes No, you need to come back here and pick it up, Ill give you cash. At this point I got annoyed with her attitude, and especially annoyed with the fact that I would have to drive back (another 40 to 45 min round trip). As Im telling her that this is ridiculous, and that considering I couldve cut my tongue on metal in my food, they could offer better customer service, she hung up on me. So much for that customer service!So my coworker and I drove back AGAIN - I didnt even care about the 10 bucks at this point, I wanted them to know that this was a big deal. I walk in and I go to the girl at the register, and I asked if she was the one I spoke to on the phone. Without a word she slams 10 bucks on the counter and just stares at me. I held up the wire and said For your information, this is what I found in my food and she gets pissed. With the biggest attitude, she sarcastically goes Well Im VERY sorry, but Im not giving you your money back for the meal to which I responded I dont care about the money, but its ridiculous that I have to come all the way back here to fix a mistake that you guys made! She responds with Well I sure wasnt gonna come to you!!! Shes yelling at this point so I stopped caring whether anyone else overheard, and I said Considering that theres A METAL WIRE in the food you serve, you really shouldnt be the one having an attitude. She then tells me to get out of there and I was like GLADLY, F you!! She goes Right back at you! As I walked out, I did not hesitate to show everyone who was sitting there what I found in my food, and said that if you find crap in your food, all you can expect is 10 bucks and an attitude, and she continued to yell from the counter for me to get out of there.I understand that it wasnt intentional, and if she had just apologized and tried to help the situation instead of telling me that it was probably foil and hanging up on me, and giving me a sh*tty attitude, I wouldnt even have cared. But when youre in the food service business, you need to ensure that you take the necessary steps to fix an error. If I had cut my tongue on that metal or swallowed any piece of it, and needed medical care, it wouldve been a much bigger pain. I will never go back because customer service is just as important as the product. I will also be reporting the incident to the Dept. of Health. Garbage in my food and a garbage attitude.

The best places to eat is always the mom & pop spots. Taqueria San Bruno is small but perfect! My wife and I came from Miami with a couple of friends and they wanted authentic Mexican food... and TSB did not disappoint!! The super burrito is a must have!!
Pretty good, which explains the crowd. If busy, be prepared to wait 15 to 30 minutes, but your wait is worth while.

I had the Super Burrito. I have to say this was one of best Burritos I ever ate. This Burrito was delicious. Looking at the size of it I said theres no way I was going to finish it. After the first bite I said this baby is going down! Also friendly staff and very busy. I will definitely return to Taqueria San Bruno 👍👍.

Best Mexican food we have found in the 5 years we’ve lived in the bay. The portions are huge and they do not skimp on the amount of meat in the burritos and tacos. The to go salsa portions are also huge. We will definitely be back! Wish it was closer to where we live in the East Bay.

Zero doubt, this is the best surf and turf burrito in the area! I order this no less than twice a week every week! The flavor combined with the salsa verde for me is tops!I think they could make their chips better! They tend to taste bland and a bit stale. It would be nice if they added some salt and lime to them to bring out some more flavor.The staff is WONDERFUL! The young lady who hands me my order knows my first name. I can’t express how nice that is to feel as though I am not just one of MANY clients (they definitely have no shortage of customers).Parking is a nightmare. It’s surrounded by a ton of auto body shops, and they all will block you from parking anywhere close. Order ahead and save some time!

Great food!!!I was surprised of how good is at this place. It truly is the “hole-in-the-wall” kind of place, but service and food are outstanding.Portions are really big, easily big enough for two, at least as far as Tacos and milanesas go. Although I got to some of Burros and they also look pretty big as well.

This is a classic and long time delicious Mexican food restaurant. This place is worth going a bit out of your way for pickup or in-restaurant eating.. I love they always seem to have a soccer game on the TV :-)
Ill have to be honest and say the burrito is mediocre at best, but the service is genuine and sweet. It was about $17 for the large wet burrito, lengua meat, comes with a side of chips and choice of salsa, in the price also included a large Horchata drink.I asked how much refills for the Horchata are, she said super sweetly, oh its free I just give you more if you want. Awee

Wow! The sauces, the meat, the beans….nothing less than transcendent! I ordered a cup of water and a carne asada supreme burrito which came out beautifully wrapped in double-foil and which turned out to be more than I can handle. It left me wishing I had a larger stomach. I also took a rice and beans burrito to-go for a late night snack. I’ll most certainly be back time and time again.
Food is really good, salsa bar has good variety. I did not care about atmosphere.

Best burrito in the area, all the ingredients are excellent, the salsas are also fantastic. Salsa Verde if you like flavor without a lot of kick, go for the Red if you want the burn, dont forget to add some to the burrito. Priced really well, youd pay a lot more in the city of SF and you wouldnt get as good quality. Worth the drive if you live in the city or surrounding area.

Their reputation set a high expectations, but they sure did not disappoint. The staff was amazing, playful, even though they were going at it none stop. The food was delicious, had the Al Pastor and the Carnitas, and they tasted home made. Highly recommend this place, its too bad they are close on Mondays, I would have went again tomorrow!
I was a bit nervous as it was on a weird st with not much parking. It was amazing, a little place, great service( I was impressed) absolutely delicious steak tacos and yummy salsa guacamole and chips. I would have taken pictures too busy eating but I got one of my kids. My daughter and husband loved it too. Fresh hot tasty good quality ingredients. Definitely coming backUpdate went today the tacos were on point. The guacamole was runny and tasted different. I enquired and was told it was mixed with milk and green food dye! Won’t be ordering the guacamole again. Was really disappointed they are trying to cut corners

Its a hidden gem for locals. Food is legit good. Al pastor, fish or shrimp tacos are my favorite but seriously, you cant go wrong with other dishes. Love how friendly the workers are... They treat you like a friend/family.

This place is amazing. A friend who is native to the area recommended Taqueria San Bruno as a must-visit restaurant when I visited San Francisco. I was not disappointed. This is easily some of the best Mexican food Ive ever had, and I eat a lot of Mexican food in various places across the states. I ordered the lunch plate with fish, rice, and beans. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and juicy, and the sauces were excellent as well. As someone who eats for two, I was also very grateful for the generous portion size. Overall Id recommend this place to anyone looking for quality, authentic Mexican food around San Francisco. 5/5

Six stars! Best fish burrito Ive found in the bay. Their fish is grilled, not battered and fried. Its packed with flavor and they dont skimp on the fish! Same goes for the shrimp taco - the top was packed with shrimp; several pieces fell off as I was eating!Free chips and salsa with takeout. Their red salsa is quite spicy - fyi before you dive right in.Will return again and again!

I ordered a burrito it was a long wait because they are very busy. But the burrito was just ok not to flavorful. The salsa was spicy but not the best.
Called in our order. We were told it would take20-25 mins. We arrive at the 20 min mark. We paid for our food but it wasnt ready. Apparently our ticket was now in queue with the walk-in orders. We waited an additional 25 mins for our order. Really? Over 45 minutes to make a burrito?! I couldve drove down to the Mission with the amount of time I spent waiting... The burrito was edible. Definitely not going back...
Five stars does not do this place justice! This is likely the best food I’ve put in my mouth. I’ve traveled the country, eaten my way through cities, and I’m absolutely in love with this place. I wish I lived on the west coast just so I could frequent them and try every last thing on the menu. The next time I need to fly into the area I’ll pick SFO just so I can make a stop for amazing food here!
My wife loved her pork super burrito. Vegan options are limited here. FYI, if youre vegan, its a lot cheaper to order the rice and bean burrito rather than the veggie burrito. The guacamole has cream in it, so its not vegan. I prefer the rice+sofritas at Chipotle.
Despite that Taqueria San Bruno is off the beaten path, they make really good burritos. I usually go for the super steak, because they put the burnt bits in there for extra crunch. Their chicken quesadilla is also excellent. Sometimes theres a bit of a wait for the food to come, but its definitely worth it. Chips and salsa are free with the order, which is a plus. The only downside of this is the street parking situation, since there are very few places close by to park.

I’m the kind of millennial that looks up a place before going and I can tell you guys I’m very happy I found this place!I don’t think any words I can say will be good enough to tell you how good this place is.They are Michelin star since 2015 which is one of the highest ratings a restaurant can receive just in case anyone didn’t believe me how good this place is.In my experience I order the super burrito with carne asada during peak hours and boy was this place busy. The portion of meat, beans and rice is very good and for the price I think it’s worth the value. Not only is it a good price but the taste is amazing! All the ingredients combine perfectly after every bite. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly.Advice: parking is almost impossible i suggest ordering in advance to go. Try the salsa bar. Very limited seating. Try the burrito.Overall, if you like Mexican food it’s definitely worth the visit and the wait time. I’ll be going back soon!

5 stars. That’s all I can say about this place.It’s a hidden little gem in the industrial side of San Bruno.But the food is so worth it. Big burritos the size of your forearm. Big bowl of chips and delicious salsa bar. The food comes out fast and steady.The seating area is small but you can usually catch a seat. They also offer a wide variety of drinks and beers, perfect to wash down the formidable size of the food they provide.San Bruno taqueria is definitely the place to go to when you’re hungering and need a huge portion to satiate that need.
Ive ordered a few times from this place before (pre pandemic) and it was quite good. Recently, I tried placing a phone order around 7pm on a Saturday for take out and it was a terrible experience. Over 20 minutes I tried calling 8 times and the phone rang unanswered to a voicemail that wasnt setup, I got busy signals, or someone answered and immediately hung up on me (twice). Ultimately, I went elsewhere and I dont intend to try ordering from this restaurant again. Best of luck to you all.
Great place. They load up the tacos so expect something a little heftier than your typical taco truck. We tried the carne asada burrito and a taco and both were great. Also we grabbed the hot salsa which was fantastic. Really nothing to complain and really enjoyed it. If I were in the area again, I dont think Id even bother trying anywhere else.

I think I’ve got a new favorite taqueria here in the Bay Area. They hit the four Bs (bueno, bonito, barato y ‘bundante). The bean & cheese burrito was the closest I’ve had to a San Diego-style burrito up here.

Quick service, delicious food. I got the shrimp super burrito. It was well priced and enough to split between two meals. The salsa bar provides multiple spicy choices. I especially liked the tomatillo salsa.

I stopped here in my effort to avoid airport food prices. Best idea ever! I got a shrimp super burrito to go, which was great for traveling. It was a little expensive at about $11, but so worth it since it was totally delicious. Also really loved the green salsa from the self serve salsa bar...I think it had avocados in it. I liked it so much it was my first stop when I came back home.
Today we went to a Mexican restaurant winner of a Micheline star, but were not pleased with the food, for it was bland. Which made us compare this food to the San Bruno taqueria, and there was no match at all. I could not finish my food. So, we decided to go to San Bruno, this time, it is take out only. We ordered our favorites, tacos de carnitas, beef, and carne al pastor. Then we stopped at a parking lot to enjoy the food, it was delicious, tasty, tasty, and we were given a bag with chips and 4 salsa small containers. We were so delighted.
MUST TRY !!! I had 4 types of meat and tried the taco and taco especial. THE STEAK WAS INCREDIBLE. JUST MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH. Never had anything like this ever. Free chips comes with the order and very nice people! Will go back for sure when I find myself in California again! Jorge was really nice, awesome dude!
One of my all time favorite hidden jewels in the bay. They make the best camaron quesadilla and carnita burritos! Their flavors and customer service is always consistent. Try them, they wont disappoint.
The food here is incredibly flavorful. Its really the best taqueria food in the area. I cant really give it higher praise than to say that in an area rich with taquerias, this one stands above. Parking is difficult and, if you can be flexible on when you go, call ahead and ask how busy they are.

Great food and friendly, attentive service! I had a carnitas super burrito. It had the perfect amount of crunchy, slightly charred chunks of pork surrounded by fresh pico and a yummy green sauce. It was quite large and I could have saved half for another meal but I was headed to the airport and couldnt stop at halfway anyways! The gentlemen that helped us was very friendly and made us feel quite welcome. The interior and tables were clean and colorful. Wouldnt hesitate to go out of my way to eat here again.
I feel like the only bad thing about this place is that its sometimes slow just because of how many orders they get. Now just because they get busy over lunch or dinner doesnt mean that their food quality goes down. In fact their food is almost always great and lives up to the hype. Ive only been disappointed once because my steak in the burrito looks a bit burnt but I told them and they replaced it immediately.The place is a bit cozy and as previously stated gets a bit busy sometimes specially during lunch which makes it a bit crowded. Lastly this place is Michellin guide recommended and if you know what the Michellin guide is, that information might be of some importance to you.
We come here all the time now! They have later hours that work for dinner after work. The staff are friendly, the food is really yummy. Cant go wrong with the shrimp burrito...Only complaint is parking is hard to find. Been coming here for years now and we love the food and friendly family.

Had high expectations due to high Yelp reviews, but came out underwhelmed. They win in portion for sure, but lack in flavors. We ordered carnitas & shrimp and they were too greasy and didnt have enough spices. The chips and salsas were also just okay.We came from South Bay and our neighborhood taqueria La Veracruzana in Santa Clara is much better, if you happen to be in the area.

Hands down! Best mexican food in the area. The last time i went hard on the shrimp tacos. Fresh and cooked to perfection. Make sure you plan ahead, because there most often a line. Worth it!!

Top burrito spot for me in San Bruno. I usually get the super shrimp burrito, saucy and delicious. $13.75 for the burrito but size is big. I can only finish half in one sitting. I also highly recommend their breakfast burritos, which is basically same thing as their usual burritos but they add eggs. Long wait tho, expect 30 to 40min wait for your food. Probably better to order ahead.
I was a little disappointed with this place. I got the fish tacos and they were a bit cold and not very well seasoned... Like at all. The salsa also was not very good and the chips were surprisingly stale. Ill have to go again and see if I just caught them on a bad day bc Id heard such great things.
The burritos here might be the best South of San Francisco. It’s my go to spot for burritos. I haven’t tried any other dishes but they all look so appetizing. And their homemade salsas are delicious. With a wide range of spicyness. You can either eat there or take it to go. Also you can call ahead and pick up. Parking isn’t too bad around there but it might depend on the time of day.
Excellent little Mexican food joint. I think it rivals some of the spots I love in Phoenix. Ive been here a few times to try different things everytime I visit . I have yet to have anything disappointing. Parking is really hard to come by, but thats just a San Francisco thing in general
Hollywood is a funny place. My friends from France wanted to see Hollywood Boulevard so we were wandering around, following the stars up the street, commenting in French, and a guy with 2 snakes around his neck answered us back in French. Turns out he was from Paris! We got around to talking about food and we asked him what was the best place, so he said Bollywood Grill made the best food in the area. I was a little skeptical but he was 100% right! Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly.
After reading the great reviews, I had high hopes for this place. The location is literally in between two auto shops, so you can hear occasionally hear loud mechanical noises from outside. I could easily disregard that – and even find it charming – if this place were the ultimate hole-in-the-wall taqueria. Unfortunately, the food was only slightly above average: great enchiladas and horchata, but the tacos themselves left a lot to be desired. You can do better, especially if you live in or close to the Mission. The place is not cheap either.

Best to order takeout.Seating: Enough, since regular patrons will tend to order takeout.Decor: A colorful mix of whimsical and beautiful paintings along with knickknacks all around.Service: Pretty good, the food come out at reasonable amount of time despite the large number of customers.Food: Tasty, cheap, with huge portions! Favorite is the shrimp taco, which is absolutely stacked with perfectly grilled shrimps that are an explosion of juicy flavor with each bite.By contrast the fish taco is a letdown of boring white fish.The menudo is a large bowl of mild and not especially salty soup. You get plenty of meat in the soup, plus you can adjust the flavor with the optional ingredients they provide with the soup.The milanesa is a huge platter of grilled steak with rice and beans as well as some salad with avocado. Pretty tasty but nothing too special.All in all one can see why Taqueria San Bruno has such a high rating with devoted regulars despite its out of the way location. Come here for a meal and you wont be hungry for a day.
Weve been to this spot a couple times now, and theyre consistently delicious. I always get tacos: chorizo, pastor, and carne asada. Always fresh and juicy, salsas are bomb and they give you plenty of chips if you ask!
As authentic is it comes. Good food reasonable priced. Nothing fancy but they sure make it up in the food quality. Small and challenging sometimes to find a seat or parking but a good place to grab meals Togo.
Tasty Mexican food at a pick-up counter. Chicken enchiladas in zesty sauce blanketed in melted cheese. Chicken was a mixed dark and white chunks. Awesome refried beans. Guacamole had great cilantro flavor - creamy texture possibly cut with sour cream? Super burrito with crispy carnitas had excellent taste and texture. Each serving enough for three meals.Location in an industrial neighborhood with little parking. Interior was friendly and able to find seating. Family friendly atmosphere.
TSB is delicious, its too bad parking isnt great. The carnitas are out of this world good. The food doesnt come out super quick because they are making it fresh in the back and putting time and care unlike a lot of their competition. Parking is awful, the only downside. Staff is super friendly and prices are reasonable
Nothing to write home about. Whoever gave this place a Michelin star must have had a bunch of corona’s while they were there... I had the chicken enchiladas, they were clunky not seasoned at all, the cheese was Monterey Jack and that’s it (no cheddar); the beans were okay (plain bean flavor); the rice was good. When I heard Michelin star I thought these will be the best enchiladas ever... not impressed

Solid food. Not salty at all. Good service. Wish more meat was inside the breakfast burritos. Felt like it was more of an egg burrito versus the steak and shrimp, as it was ordered and repeated to confirm.

My wife and I just discovered this gem. Like Judge Judy, the reviews are real, the people are real and most importantly the food is REAL GOOD! The owner came out and we all got to chatting just about life, he has a real passion for his food and family. I had the chicken fajitas and the portions are generous. I thought no way I could finish this plate and omg next thing I know Im done with the plate...sinful. Oh the flour tortillas are handmade thin and taste like butter was melted on them, just sinfully good. This place place to me is better than La Taqueria and we all know that place is a benchmark.
Best tacos I’ve tasted outside of Mexico. Delicious pollo and al pastor. Took 20 minutes for our food to arrive during busy time but staff provided chips and salsa to keep us occupied. 110% recommend and will definitely return!
Best Carne asada meat in the city! You can smell it being made in this small restaurant in San Bruno. The is meat isnt dry like most places, however I noticed the portions have decreased even if purchasing a super Burrito. Overall, still my go to place for Carne asada burrito.
Best al pastor Ive ever had - no joke. Service super friendly. Parkings a pain but you can park in the FedEx lot across the street, no problem. Will definitely come back for that al pastor!
Where can you really find amazing Mexican food nowadays? TSB is good. Ive reviewed them before and what I like most is their bean and cheese burritos, and their larger size steak and eggs w/cheese breakfast burrito. Both, are hard to beat. I think their breakfast burrito is best without sour cream, the guacamole they feature, and their salsas. Its interesting, pre-COVID, their pico de gallo was exceptional. Gotta have those items? Get em on the side and have them cut your burrito in half. Eat some now, save some for later. Try it that way and use your own additions at home.
Burrito was huge however the filling( rice, beans, grilled chicken) was dry. I really wanted to like this place but from my experience the regular burrito wasnt that good. Maybe the tacos are better.
Delicious food! Came here for a vacation looking for a relatively cheap and easy Mexican food place, this fits the bill perfectly! Small and busy during weekend peak hours. Other than that absolutely perfect for cheaper authentic Mexican food!
This is the best taqueria out here no doubt! My husband got the the steak nachos and my kids got the super steak burritos and they left no crumbs behind lol but foreal Im from Hayward where there is a taqueria almost at every corner and this place reminded me of home lol and customer service pretty friendly and cool!

The burritos at Taqueria San Bruno are usually good, but whats more noticeable about them is their size. They are enormous. However, despite having good food, this taqueria is essentially inaccessible due to the extreme lack of parking nearby. Its not uncommon to find that there are no parking spots whatsoever within 1/4 mile of the taqueria. Ive given up trying to visit this place because I can never find a place to park.

Incredible burritos! I had an asada burrito, and every single part of it was great. The tortilla, the meat, the beans, the rice--all cooked and seasoned perfectly. Its definitely a hole in the wall, and the whole neighborhood its in is not exactly an ideal date spot, but if you want to grab a burrito for lunch, this is your place.
The best tacos Ive had in the Bay - better than the famous El Taq or Farolito in the city. The chicken taco especial is to die for, I have no clue how they make the chicken so tender on the inside yet charred on the outside. A friend described this place as a spiritual experience. Spot on. No wonder its Michelin recommended!

2023-10-15 05:48:44Great little hole in the wall authentic Mexican food. Don’t be scared to try the lengua or cabeza if you haven’t had it before; they’re both delicious. Parking is a pain so come at odd hours. My only complaint and why I deducted a star is the extremely long waits we’ve experienced multiple times for our food to come out. The last time we were there, we waited about 30-40 minutes for 3 people, 1 entree each.

Generous sizes with fresh ingredients. I had fish taco, but they also do a veggie taco.Order and pay at the counter, they will bring it out to you. Saved to come back next time we’re in the US.

2023-09-22 21:03:12This place is a hidden gem next to auto body shops and not likely to be found unless youre working in the area or look it up online. They were Michelin recommended before and their food deliver consistent quality. I always go on the tripas where theyre crispy and flavorful so they dont smell or taste like funky intestine when not cooked properly. Their canitas is also great where the meat is fried to almost like a jerky texture outside but still remind juicy inside. Their other meat choices are tasty as well and this taqueria never disappoint if you dine in.I tried take out a couple of times and not having to eat it fresh really affected the quality of their food. So try to dine in for your first time to see what this place is about because take out doesnt do its justice. This place is always my go to spot but parking is usually tough in the area since most of the body shops have their cars parked on the street.

2023-05-22 13:46:18We wanted an authentic Mexican restaurant but did in a neighborhood where we felt comfortable. The long walk to get here (parking is bad) is well worth it. The food was delicious. With children, we were a little slow on ordering but the young lady behind the counter was friendly and patient (there was a rush of people who came well after us so I am glad we got there before they did). This was definitely a quaint location where the locals eat which was a good sign. Tip: Food is only ordered at the register but they bring it to you. The el pastor was my favorite!

2023-03-10 21:54:11Absolutely the best tacos Ive had outside of San Diego!This taqueria does not disappoint and is absolutely worth the weight. I personally love the Al Pastor tacos, but my friends are huge fans of the lengua. The shrimp tacos are also quite good. They absolutely pack these tacos with meat and they are well worth it!

Everything about this place screams authentic and quality food.We got the fish, shrimp, carnitas, and Al pastor which all were super flavorful and my favorite was how crispy the meats were. Their salsa bar was a great addition too.Some people mentioned its hard to park, but its so worth it to park a little farther (at train station) and do the short walk. Youre going to eat any way and itll be a nice way to burn a few calories.Also shout out to the Rodriguez family for owning a great establishment and providing great service.

2023-10-25 20:08:42I am from Los Angeles where Mexican Food is pretty authentic and fantastic. Just tried the Super Shrimp Burrito and must say, finally the taste of home I was missing! In my experience most shrimp burrito have a creamy sauce which I was unable to find until now. It’s frankly DELICIOUS! I tried three different salsas and not disappointed at all! I’m really sooo happy I work nearby. Thanks forthe wonderful lunch/dinner.
