Great veggie pakora, gluten free and vegan. Super close by and nice staff. Definitely my fascination food for a few weeks. Trying to cut this pakora habit but they just keep calling to me. Might have to try some for yourself.

I tried the Himalayan briyani for the first time here and it was really delicious. It didnt have the strong spice like Indian bryani but had a unique mild flavor that I love. The fried okra was my new favorite dish now. The service was excellent too. Stopping for lunch here was a good start for my vacation up north.

The food is all fantastic and the staff is equally good. The atmosphere is nothing special but certainly comfortable. Be prepared to spend 20+ per person, but also expect to have tasty food. You can get most dishes at spice levels 1-5. If you cannot handle spice, opt for 1. If you like a little spice, 2. If you usually like pretty spicy food but nothing crazy, 3. At 4 you will likely end up with an upset stomach, but its worth it. The burn is pretty intense but not gonna kill ya. I have ordered the tandoori at 5 before. The entire restaurant INCLUDING the staff were all having a collective coughing fit as a result of the devilish level of spice coming off of that steaming chicken. It is absolutely incredible, and feels much akin to someone lighting gasoline on your tongue. Nonetheless it is delicious, and through the tears I genuinely adored the meal. I only recommend this for those who seek out spice challenges or have little to no reaction to spice. You WILL have an upset stomach for potentially a couple hours. However it is worth it and Ill absolutely be doing it again.

Honestly I think it might be the best restaurant in Ukiah. The food is always amazing. I have never had anything from there that I didnt absolutely love. Taste of Nepal is definitely my favorite.

I went early on a Sunday evening and it was very busy. Lots if families with children. As a consequence, my service was slower than I expected, though not terrible.The menu had a good selection of both veg and non-veg items.One way to tell if a place is authentic is to see if they have salt lassi. I was pleased that they did and theirs seemed to also have black salt in it, so if you know what that is, it was extra authentic / flavorful!They had an interesting selection of breads and I was pleased with my cheese-stuffed roti.Because they were so busy, parking was a bit tight and you might consider parking on the other side of State Street.

Nepalese food comes very close to Indian food.Travelled 90mins to eat here as we were craving for Indian type of food.We were served complementary Lentil soup and it was amazing.We ordered Samosa, Salmon Tandoori and Veg Chowmien.Samosa was awesome, as it was freshly made, infact everything was very fresh.Salmon Tandoori also had a good mix of spices as we expect in Indian food.Veg Chowmien I felt was bit on the sweeter side, but it was not bad. I would take one a star for that.The staff is soft spoken and humble.Overall, place is good and I would come back here, but may not travel 90mins.

Tired of downtown Ukiah? Head here for an absolutely delicious, authentic Nepalese meal. I had the butter chicken with brown rice and my goodness, delish, delish, delish. Outdoor seating, clean bathroom, excellent customer service.Ordered garlic naan to scoop up my sauces, and yay~ yum :D

Enjoyed their outdoor seating was perfect. If you have not tried this little place.. do. Your going to be very surprisedwith the quality! The flavors here are impeccable and really really delicious. I feel like there is no competition as far as Indian/Nepalese food goes in Ukiah CA. Much less in 50 miles around this area. Highly suggest anybody who really wants to enjoy some good authenic Indian cuisine to give Taste of Nepal a try. Our favorites Samosa, tiki marsala, thalia special with rice soup veg dessert, and garlic naan.

The owner Mahash at Taste of Nepal is so awesome. They uprooted from Berkley California to bring high quality Nepalese & Traditional Indian for to Mendocino County! We always order the thali special which comes with rice, spicy veg, lentil soup,chicken curry,salad with Apples and dessert for $16 bucks!We bring all sorts of guest and business partners here from out of town. Their is no competition here in Ukiah for quality Indian food. The spices and flavors are 100% on point. They do postmates & uber eat. They have outdoor seating. This was my first time visiting this restaurant and can I say I was greatly appreciative of the excellent service and commitment to customer satisfaction. I had ordered some chicken that I thought would be a good fit only to later realize it was to spicy. The waitress was kind in providing me with an alternative at no charge to ensure my happiness. They have outdoor seating with misters to ensure comfort for their customers. I cant say enough good things about my experience and I loved the buttered chicken that she provided as alternative. I have to say this place is a hidden gem 💎 and a must have for anyone seeking good cuisine at an affordable price with the utmost importance on service and satisfaction. Try the mango drink to top off your meal and their tea was surprisingly refreshing.

Order Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Biryani both were horrible. I got sick from the Biryani. Called management to complain. Owner is cheap and refuses to take responsibility for his business. Accused me of trying to get a free meal in a pandemic. Sorry dude but I have plenty of receipts of other restaurants where I didnt have trouble. Over $500.00 in the last month. glad to spend and support local and professionally run restaurants. Oh and to be accused of being in some kind of alliance with the previous owners (there must have been some bad blood there) IS CRAZYTOWN! A Taste of Nepal in Ukiah is a Keeper!This gem in Ukiah was a very welcome respite from hunger on a Sunday afternoon. The Samosa Chaat was a great way to start our meal. It was washed down with a Kingfisher and a Taj Mahal beer, both of which were tasty.We also shared a lamb tandoori (lamb was juuuust on the other side of done) and a vegetable korma (very yummy, although the potatoes needed to be cooked longer). We ordered a potato roti (yum!) and a garlic naan (yum!) to accompany the meals.We ended the lunch withKheer made in the traditional way (yum!)If you’re in Ukiah or simply passing through, stop in and enjoy A Taste of Nepal!

This restaurant is an absolute oasis. Eating in Ukiah is usually a painful experience; most places are overpriced and generally unflavorful. Taste of Nepal consistently rich, flavorful, spicy, and an overall dream. Ive ordered multiple dishes over the months and each one has been a super delightful experience. I love sharing a piping hot dish with great company over a large bottle of Taj Majal beer.

The past reviews here are misleading. I would have given it 0 stars but there was no option to give 0 star, the food is horrible here. We ordered momos, noodles and lemon rice, they all tasted so bad. Noodles was oily and hard, Lemon rice was tasteless, it was missing the lemon taste entirely and very high on turmeric.

Very bland food, I dont know how they can call it authentic. Didnt feel very fresh as well. Could tell that not much care was put into the cooking. Understandbly so, given they are short staffed, but even so.Server was nice (which is the only reason I tipped) but inexperienced. Visually the restaurant isnt the most beautiful. But the food is delicious. We usually get the Himalayan style dinner ($14-$18) and that is enough for us to share. Only thing we dont like from it is the chutney, which as best we can understand is like pickled jalapenos. Otherwise great food and value for your $$$.

We ordered the veggie samosas, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassis. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The mango lassis were so rich and delicious. The chicken tikka masala didn’t have the usual tandoori chicken, but the tender chicken it did have was delightful, I enjoyed it more than the usual style. The owner was very kind, and I’m so glad we chose this to eat picnic style further up the road. We felt so nourished and delighted by this good. We will come back!!!

When I tasted the dal at the beginning of the meal, I wanted to give five stars right there. I dont think Ive ever had dal with such complex and nicely-balanced spicing before. The two curries we had were also excellent. The garlic naan was pretty good, but didnt really live up to the rest--it was a little doughy. Still, if I lived in Ukiah Id eat here a lot. Good service, fair prices, excellent food.

Love Indian food. Found this place on my GPS while passing through. Lentil soup is fantastic. Had the Garlic Naan, Mix Veggie Masala, and Butter chicken. Food was flavorful without being over spiced. Nepalese food is amazing. This will be my regular stopping point from now on when traveling.

We are vegetarians. We were returning from fort Bragg to Napa, we looked up indian place on yelp and found good ratings for the place. So we decided to check it out for lunch.The waitress was very courteous, took our order over phone. The food took around 20 mins to arrive.We ordered veggie momos, chili tofu for appetizers. Veg korma and garlic Naan for main course. Each dish was delicious. Veg korma comes with a serving of rice. Our 6 year old likes the veggie noodles, but I found it slightly greasy.We had Masala chai. It was authentic. We like it stronger, so we requested the staff to add more tea to it, and they remade our chai.The folks around my table were ordering another round of butter chicken, must have been good I guess 😀I would definitely recommend for vegetarians.

Food was fantastic! We ate here for lunch today and ordered the Chicken Saag and the Tandoori Chicken, with Garlic Naan (amazing). The Saag is delicious, made with fresh spinach in the creamy sauce. Very flavorful. The Tandoori Chicken was wonderful! Its sort of like their version of fajitas, only better. I ordered the drumsticks and thigh meat with the vegetables. They bbq it in a 500 degree oven and it comes out sizzling just like a fajita plate. The server offered a couple of sauces to go with the dish, and I chose to try both. I loved them both! One was a chimichurri sauce (mint, cilantro, green sauce) and the other was a dark tamarind based sauce (sort of like a luxury version of a steak sauce). Our waiter was very helpful, conversational, and helped us make our choices. He was very accommodating to allow me to mix and match my meal so that I could try two things. Overall a great experience!

We ordered food for 6 adult Indians -- born and brought up in different parts of India. We grew up eating quite spicy food. We live in the bay area and eat at Indian restaurants on a weekly basis. Now that you have this context -- we ordered spicy level 2 out of 5 because we had two toddlers in the party. We usually order 4 out of 5 if only for adults. The food was INSANELY spicy. We had throw away the palak paneer. The poor toddler cried for 10 mins because she tasted a bit of it. Even the adults couldnt eat it. The kitchen screwed up. When I called to give feedback, the owner was non apologetic. Ruined the evening for us.

The vegetarian menu at Taste of Nepal is absolutely divine. The dal is simple and delicious. The Channa saag is creamy, made with coconut milk. Brown rice is available instead of white, with no extra charge. My husband and I enjoyed lunch here for the first time. We both ate until full and satisfied, and only spent $20! We will definitely be coming back!

It is a lovely small place. We stopped here on the way from Mendocino to South Bay. Really nice people, we had a good conversation with them. And not to mention the delicious food, that they happily customised for our taste. We had the lentil soup (with tarka), paneer saag, aloo paratha, and veggie momos. Our host suggested a special entree not on the menu which consisted of a platter of grilled meats, poultry, fish, onions, and peppers with delicious sauces. During a world health pandemic I was going to overlook the fact that none of the employees are practicing social distancing, wearing any face masks, or any gloves. They messed my order up that I drove 40 miles round trip to pick up, I then had to drive another 40 miles round trip to get a refund of cash. All the while the employees are unapologetic, rude, and seemingly believe it’s some how my fault. I clarified how far I was driving, during stay at home orders I might add, my name for the order, and the order itself (twice). This is the second time they have done this and I have had to drive back, first time shame on them, second shame on me, their will not be a third.

Came here on our way to redwood forests. Really good Indian/Nepali food. We had lamb aloo and paneer tikka masala. They were different and tasted really good. Mango lassi and chai were average. The chef spoke to us and sounded very sweet.

As remote as the idea seems for a town known to travelers for having affordable hotels and the only redwood-housed (as in whittled from a single massive tree trunk kind of tourist attraction) gas station in California — the Taste of Nepal is absolutely a game changer offering authentic fares laden with rare spices from the Himalayan hinterlands. The Nepalese Indian YouTube dance moves add a more immersive experience to the atmosphere which include iced mango lhasi drinks and cooling mist sprays to slake off the wilting heat of the summer.
