We’ve tried different Chinese food places in Chula Vista and Otay Ranch and Tasty Mandarin is our favorite thus far. Some people might consider them pricey, but for the amount of food you get, I think their prices are reasonable. Typically we order 3 dishes and it will last through 3-4 meals. We pay anywhere from $65-75. We normally order take out and the staff has always been quick to preparethe food. We’ve tried the following dishes:Shrimp curryBeef broccoli - favoriteBBQ pork soft noodle - favoriteMongolian beef - favoriteChow fun with beefKung pao chickenThai teaThe protein in the dishes are tender and every dish are perfectly seasoned. I’ve noted which dishes have been our favorite.

Wow! This place really is the BEST in SouthBay! Everything was on point: 1. The service was warm and attentive (big thanks to Andy, Jay & Lisa) 2. Salt & pepper chicken wings were heaven sent 3. white rice was perfect 4. wonton chips & sweet and sour sauce were my favorite (complimentary btw) 5. Egg drop soup was yummy and comforting 5. Thai tea with boba was delish (boba was freshly cooked) 6. Jasmine hot tea was full of flavor and 7. even their complimentary ice Water tasted like filtered water! Im not even joking!This place is currently the highest in ratings due to their quality of food, clean ambiance and level of service. Well done! We will be back soon to try more items on the menu! My coworkers recommended this restaurant for their salt n pepper wings so I went today. I had the wings, Mongolian beef and my Mom had the Szechwan beef. Everything was TASTY! The host was very polite and his service was great! If you want Chinese food that isnt fast food try this place!

OMG this place is sooooo good! I have eaten here twice already and each time it leaves me wanting more. I do not eat meat so I stick to the shrimp dishes but they are too die for! The Salt and Pepper shrimp, no shell, has the best flavor. They are lightly breaded and not too salty. The flavor is out of this world! The Honey Walnut Shrimp is awesome too. Do yourself a favor and try this place! You will return!

We visited less than two weeks after its opening and had a surprisingly good meal. The food was flavorful and delicious and the service exceptionally friendly and helpful without being obtrusive.We had generous portions of their wonton soup and shrimp soft noodles, which we really enjoyed. They make their own crispy wontons, about the best Ive encountered.Were not often in the area but will definitely return the next time were in the area seeking Chinese food.

Were from out of town and found this place on Google and it was rated pretty highly, so we decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad we did. Not only was the staff friendly, the food came really quick and everything was hot and fresh. We got the Mongolian Beef, always a favorite, and we tried the House Special Beef. You guys... you guys, seriously, I think the House Special Beef was the best dish Ive ever eaten. Im having an emotional response to it right now. We got these dishes with fried rice, and we started with cream cheese wontons and some wonton soup. Every. Thing. Was. Delicious. Do yourself a favor; get your butt in there, give them all your money, and get ready to have the best Chinese food going!

We are a bit picky with certain foods. Im pregnant so Im having weird feelings about seafood and chicken lol. This place blew us away. Husband is Navy and has had this kind of stuff overseas and he was absolutely delighted with the flavors here! I got some orange beef and oh boy was I happy. Husband got beef and veggies and ate almost the entire plate they brought. Will be back for sure and will bring the older kids!Super friendly, fast service, attentive and clean place. 🥇⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ordered food to go last week and was told it would take 15 minutes, I told them I’ll pick it up in 30 mins. Got there 30 minutes later and it still wasn’t ready and took ANOTHER 30 minutes. So it basically took an hour for like 4 plates.

My daughter wanted salt & pepper chicken wings for her birthday and I didnt feel like driving all the way to National City to pick up a party tray. By the reviews I had read about this place concerning their chicken wings I thought Id give them a try. I was not disappointed and neither will you be! The presentation, the flavor, the fast friendly service, everything was great about these wings! Holy smokes! I look forward to dining in at this place in the future. If u ever wanted to taste NYC Chinese food. This place is it!!! The BBQ spare ribs and BBQ pork fried rice taste exactly like east coast food. Boba drinks🔥.Cant tell u about anything else I only go there for two things. They are always packed for dinner on the weekends. It bit pricy but u get a lot of food so it equals out.

The place had great reviews on Yelp. We went there with our friends, and all 4 of us were amazed at how fresh and delicious each and every dish was. I love their Green Beans, Curry Shrimp and Chicken Wings!!!! The staff was super nice and it was a pleasure. If you go, leave them a big tip. They work hard and deserve it. I cannot wait to go back.

Thee best salt and pepper chicken in the world. From the moment you get it you will smell the freshness and steam coming from these delicious chicken wangs. With one bite the crunch is heard around the world and the flavor just bursts with excitement. Did I mention the crunch? Id give it a 4.5 if I could, because the food is a tad better than our usual place. We had a family dinner for the four of us and it was way too much food, but plenty of leftovers. The orange chicken was especially delicious. I assume the service was slower because the food was cooked fresh. However, appetizers should arrive at the beginning; ours arrived well into the meal, though before the last entree was brought.

This Chinese food is the best that Ive found in San Diego, and its all about the salt-and-pepper chicken wings, magnolia beef and shrimp fried rice. This restaurant is located in Chula Vista In the same business center as planned parenthood and wing stop. All food is prepared fresh to order. The salt n pepper wings are packed with flavor, lots of the garlic salt n pepper, and green onion to sprinkle on top of ur bites and VERY very crispy! Perfect.. Some people say that Royal Mandarin is still better but I have nothing to complain about with this food! Inside and outside dining available. Plenty of parking.

This place is delicious and worth every penny. It was late at night, my wife and four kids were hungry, we were staying at a campground not too far away, looked up Chinese Food and this popped up. From the outside we were a little sketched out at first. No customers were parked out front and the line from Yoshinoya made it difficult to get to, we were close to following the crowd there, but were so hungry waiting in that line would not have helped. Once we got our food we realized we made the correct decision. This place is AMAZING and FRESH and DELICIOUS. Staff was super helpful in helping us decide what some of their best dishes are and what appealed most to our kids. EVERYTHING was cooked PERFECTLY and even our young kids ate up their plates. Go here, don’t go anywhere else, you’ll be missing out.

I’ve been going to another Chinese food restaurant down here in the South Bay for the past few years and decided to give a new place a shot (new to me). My regular place was good but THIS PLACE.....THE BEST, hands down! The establishment was very clean. The lady who took my order over phone was friendly. The food was only 5 mins over her quote time, but I’m okay with that because that meant my food was FRESH! Getting home the food was piping hot. The food was fantastic and of good quality. The salt n pepper chicken wings are the best I’ve had in the South Bay Area. Mongolian beef was nice and savory and the lo mein was just as tasty. This will now be my family’s new Chinese food spot!

I was really hoping the reviews were accurate but my experience was not at all great. The sweet and sour chicken was inedible and I had to throw away, it was Refried, and very hard to bite into. The chop suey didn’t have flavor and the egg rolls were not good at all. Overly greasy with no flavor was my experience.
