Tasty Noodle House is our go to place for comfort food. We usually eat late lunch there because finding parking is a challenge during peak time. We ordered our usual dishes: Shanghai pan fried pork bun, pan fried cilantro fish dumplings, fish noodle soup and spicy fish with tofu noodle soup. Three minutes after our order was taken, waitstaff brought out the Shanghai pan fried pork bun, food was hot and tasty. All other food came out fast and piping hot as well. Prices went up slightly but still reasonable. This is still one of our favorite restaurants for comfort food.

I had lunch with a friend at Tasty Noodle House on a Friday around 11:30 AM. There was plenty of parking and tables available. It stared to get busy a bit after 12 PM. We got the Shanghai Grilled Pork Buns, Green Onion Pancake, Shanghai Sticky Rice Shiu-Mai With Pork, and Shanghai Xiao Long Bao w/ Pork. The portions are quite large so for 2 people this was a lot of food and we went home with left overs. The grilled pork buns were delicious and my favorite item! The filling was really well seasoned and the grilled bun added a nice crisp. I thought the sticky rice shiu-mai was fun but dont order this expecting it to be like traditional shiu-mai. This was primarily filled with sticky rice - not a ton of pork and shrimp. The xiao long bao was good but nothing special. I thought the green onion pancake was not good - it was very thin and oily. I wouldnt recommend that. We obviously didnt try any noodles but enjoyed the items off the dim sum menu.

Sooooooo tasty. (see what I did there?) The food here is really good. Like others have said, the House Noodles with Pork are amazing. The portions are big, so be careful how much you order. Also, like others have said, the parking lot is interesting and not in a good way. Best to get there early, and even then you might not get a spot. Parking aside, if you like noodles, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Some dishes were good, some were just ok. The place is super busy. The walls are bare so it can get very noisy. The seatings are very tight bc it’s busy. Overall is good for quick bite. Parking is extremely limited due to many eateries at the same plaza. We had to park two blocks down the street.

Very quick kitchen despite a busy crowd. The pan friend buns are on point, very juicy; the sesame makes it stand out from other places.Braised beef noodle soup was delicious. Thin noodles really soaks up the flavour of the soup.Ask for chrysanthemum tea; you won’t be disappointed.

That was my second time here. The first time everything was great but the second time was disappointing. I ordered the brisket beef noodle soup and it tasted awful. It has a weird smell and didn’t look appetizing. Waiter took it to the chef and said there was nothing wrong with it, oddly. But he was able to change it to a different thing. Ordered the Taiwanese chicken and veggie fish dumplings which were ok. Not sure if I wanna come back again honestly

Good Chinese restaurant in Convoy. There are variety of food in the menu apart from noodle. I ordered house noodle, which I think the taste is okay but too little sauce compare to the amount of noodles. The cucumber salad was very good and I order every time when I come here. Also the 3 cups chicken also very tasty. However the snake guards are too bitter, the one fail cos I make it better 😁. Overall, I give 9 out of 10. so 5 stars for Tasty noodle ☺️

The service was ok. I felt like the server was rushing my order so I was not too happy. The noodles were good. I wish the steam chicken was not served cold in the sesame chili oil. The dumpling was very disappointing as well. It tasted like old freezer dumpling. It did not taste fresh.

The line to get into this new hip joint can be painfully long, but the food is pretty good.Their soups are flavored heavily with white pepper I personally like that. They are priced well and affordable for the quantity and quality. They also have interesting takes on traditional dishes like some dumplings.I recommend their pan fried buns and xlb(though not the best still quite good).

We thoroughly enjoyed this little gem. They had excellent and timely service. The food was some of the best Chinese we have ever had. During peak times there is a long wait, which, depending on your out look tells you about the quality of the experience. Things are a little crammed, but it just adds to the experience. You can share in your joy with the tables around you. This place has flare and flavor in abundance without any gimmicks.

A good spot for a quick tasty meal on Convoy. There is often a wait between 5:30pm and 7:00pm but it moves fairly quickly. The food is good — I especially recommend the soup buns and the hot & sour soup. Both are very good here.The service is quick, but if you’re waiting to be seated you can figure out your order ahead of time via the menu posted outside the restaurant. The atmosphere is pretty simple and chill. Not a whole lot of complaints on that front.Come by and try it out for a good meal. O’Brien’s is a few doors down so you can get a quick beer before or after as well!

Late review from Dec 2022 :PWe ordered the Shanghai Grilled Pork Bun, Crispy Spicy Stinky Tofu w/pork, Beef Brisket Noodle soup, Xiao Long Bao, and some other noodle dish I cant remember the name of and they dont seem to have on their menu anymore.Not sad about the noodle dish that was changed out because that was our least favorite dish. Xiao Long Bao was decent but I think the wrapping was a little too thick for my taste, I also cant find this on the online menu anymore. I liked the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup although my wife thought the meat was a little tough and lean. The Crispy Spicy Stinky Tofu w/pork was exactly what I pictured in my head. The server even warned me when I ordered and asked if I knew what I was doing. :P I would have to say though that it is a dish to eat sparingly, and would go better if it had pickled vegetables with it. Eating that dish solo was a bit rough at the end. The Shanghai Grilled Pork Bun was likely my favorite dish of this meal.Portions are very reasonable. I will have to try the Garlic Sauce Eggplant w/ Shredded Pork next time as it seems like Eggplant Szechuan Style (魚香茄子) which is one of my favorite dishes. Popular place as it is always busy. I hate the parking in this area. So many good places to eat and half the time we end up parking on the street and walking over.

Love this place! When we first stepped in we were seated right away by friendly staff. The menu was easy to read and provided many helpful photos of the food. They have a nice selection of dumplings a great amount of soups, and many other foods. My personal favorite was the soup dumplings (be careful when you bite into it, it will squirt out far if youre not careful!)We also got the shrimp noodle soup, chicken chow mein, and another type dumpling. They all tasted great! I also love the aesthetic, which was simple and clean. The price was surprisingly Iow for everything we got too. Overall, great restaurant. We will definitely be returning!

Honestly, the food is good. Not exceptional but it is tasty. The service is ok, it just took a long time to get one dish. The atmosphere, however, is terrible. Like truly stressful and awful. The acoustics mean it is extremely noisy, and everyones voices just converge right in your ears. The tables are way too small for a cuisine with multiple dishes, implements and condiments. I had a good meal but was desperate to leave by the end.

Food is moderately priced, the volume of food is plentiful.Parking lot is relatively small for the number of establishments in the area so you might need to park on the street or around the corner and walk, still worth it.Shanghai pot stickers were good for my kids, wanted to try out some of the soy noodle appetizers but they were sold out when we got there. Ate here around 1pm on a weekday. It was busy, but the service was exceptionally quick, as we were seated and given menus immediately.Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering, which was nice.As for the food, we ordered three items:Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice: Bland. Didnt seem to be any seasoning in the dish whatsoever. Shrimp was overcooked and the vegetables/pineapple had the texture and taste (or lack thereof) of canned or microwaved produce.Pickled Seaweed Salad: Decent. Nice flavor, but nothing to write home about.Vegetable Steam Bun: The saving grace of this meal. The buns themselves are nice and fluffy, and the filling complements the bun nicely.The presentation on all three dishes was very nice.Overall, this would not be my first pick to go back to, with the number of fantastic food places nearby.

My mom and I wanted to try something new. Weve been scoping out a place to try Ma Pu Tofu and they didnt disappoint. I personally dont like sezchuan but this dish overall was still tasty. We also ordered the combo fried rice, orange beef and shanghai grilled beef buns (I was expecting more of a bao but they were still good). The fried rice is on the lighter side of flavor but still very tasty, orange beef very flavorful and the staff was very kind, quick and often came back around to check on us. They did not disappoint

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I sat with a group at a small table in the corner. It was a crowded table and a crowded restaurant. Food arrived quickly and the service was polite and friendly. The tastes were average, for an Asian restaurant -- flat and more Americanized than authentic. The bathroom was not terrible, not great.

There was a long line before the restaurant even opened, and about 1/3 of the people at the end of the line had to wait for the first round of customers to finish eating to be seated. Heard this was a great spot, came in for some pork dumplings, beef stew, and kung pao noodles with the family. Everything was delicious, would definitely come back. Portions were reasonably large. Theres usually a wait here. The parking is terrible but thats just the way it is for places within this mall area. The food is quite delicious. Their menu is massive! The best dish is the Beef Scallion with noodles. Their dumplings arent as good as Shanghai Saloon across the street. Got an order to go. Two items, got home to find theyd gotten one order wrong. The other - beef and green onions with noodles was quite weak. It was sweet and characterless, not savory. Much more like a buffet item. The noodles were mushy, way overcooked. All in all, a disappointment, wont be returning. And it was on the expensive side. And parking is really hard.

In the busy Seoul plaza, its always hard to find parking, but this is worth it. The shared dishes are great and the xiaolongbao and jianbao (grilled pork buns) are definitely a must order. Theres usually a wait, but the turnover is fast so the wait isnt too bad. The portions are big enough to satisfy so everyone should feel full afterwards.

Came in around 8pm on Friday, it wasnt too crowded. Not a long wait. We got our food pretty fast too. The only thing that didnt sit right with me was that our server was so sure that they dont serve Vegetarian Bun, even when it is on the menu, because shes been working there for so long. She couldve still asked the chef if they have it just to make sure, but she was just so adamant that the menu is wrong. Then, they should fix the menu if its wrong. But the one who was refilling us water, girl with blue streaks I think, had a really good customer service, she was quick in whatever we needed. Not sure if shes also a server or was just a busgirl, but if shes not server she should be.Other than that, the food was really good! Had enough to take home to eat for lunch the next day. Gotta say the Xiao Long Bao from Tastys is so much better than Din Tai Fungs. Just saying. Their House Noodles are a house favorite for a reason! I love the lightness in the flavors. It was perfect, especially when the pork buns and the braised pork had so much flavor already. The Braised Pork however was okay, wouldnt order it again though. Not in the picture, my sister ordered the eggplant & mushroom w/ basil is sooo good! Love the sauce! Their pork buns are great too! Overall, happy with the food. Would definitely go back.

Amazing food, my husband is Chinese born and raised and was in absolute awe at the authenticity and flavor in these dishes. As for me, I was treated to the absolute best xiao long bao and pork belly Ive ever had in my life. I was so happy with how delicious the food is, and my husband was so happy to get a taste of what he used to love as a kid.I was really excited to try the stinky tofu, and it was really good!

Five stars for excellent food and service although I do have to say the XLB has room for improvement. They are tasty but barely have any soup to slurp. Bustling business in a very over crowded plaza. Youre very likely to need to find parking around on the street or across the street at the Jasmine parking complex.Tables were full when we got there at 1:30pm Sunday, took about 25 minutes to clear 9 tables which is pretty good in my opinion.Interior was very clean and as soon as you sit down theres already water and peanuts waiting for you with your menus.Extremely large 150+ entry menu. We ordered the fried pork buns, the stir fried sticky rice cake, the fried yellow croaker, the stir fried snails with chives, and the seafood soup noodles. This is an actual authentic Shanghai restaurant: the flavors are light, not very salty, and tending towards a sweeter palate. Everything was well cooked and the flavors excellent. There werent a lot of snails on the plate, however they were very high quality and without any hint of the usual fishiness of what you mostly find in the states. Im pretty sure they are using an escargot supplier. I particularly enjoyed the sticky rice cake, the ji cai vegetable they were cooked with were, amazingly, fresh (!!!), when usually you can only get it frozen in the US. The flavor blew me out of the water- I wasnt expecting such a heart warning taste of home so far away.The staff was courteous, attentive, and high energy. I say this almost disbelievingly about such an authentic Chinese restaurant, but today it is my very great pleasure and pride to do so. The management seems to be doing their job quite well.One of the easiest five stars Ive ever given, in terms of flavor, ingredients, cleanliness, and service, I wouldnt give a single star less in any category.

BUT, the 3 star review is because every time we try calling to place a to-go order they let it ring, pick up the phone, and then hang up. My partner decided to go in and place the to-go order and came back in LITERALLY 2 minutes after he placed it. Not really good business to let the phone ring, pick it up, and then hang up immediately. To start off, this place has one of the fastest service I have ever experienced. I ordered the pork dumblings, Shanghai grilled pork buns and green onion pancakes, they only took about 5 minutes to have my appetizers on the table. The texture of the food was perfect, and what was nice is that as I ate my water was refilled constantly. My one complaint was the main entrée which was the ginger scallion beef with noodles. It tasted alright but the after taste was foul. It tasted like the meat that was used was prepared and sitting in the fridge for over a week. The quality of the meat was not up to par with what I expected, considering this was one of their most popular dishes. I was very disappointed to say the least, and it ruined my apatite and made me extremely nauseous. I didnt even finish my meal. I would seriously consider a change in the handling of the meat before I go back to that restaurant again.

Because of the large number of dishes, it was easy to find several vegetarian plates (which are helpfully marked on the menu) but they are definitely not a priority at this place. Friendly staff and food is acceptable. The soup dumplings are a bit poorly made here. Skin was broken on about 3 of the ones we ate so basically no soup in these. Skin was also very sticky. Maybe its the way they make it here but I am used to the way they make it on the east coast where it is a bit thinner and very soft. Fried rice here is pretty good but extremely oily. You can literally pour out the excess.

Good food, clean place.How ever if you are going to implement a mandatory tip, it must be because your customer service is pristine, i went with a party of 4 and 3 of their friendly staff surrounded me before leaving using loud Chinese language i could not understand, forcing me to leave a 25% tip, not i left the tip, it was embarrassing for me, tip is not a mandatory law.

This place is fantastic. Wonderful wonderful service. I love the simple decor of the place. All the food was amazing. Pork belly so tender. The Shanghai grilled pork buns had a nice crunch on the bottom. I will definitely be making a return trip.

Our absolute favorite place for Chinese in SD. Cannot go without an order of Shanghai buns. They are unmatched in flavor and with some black vinegar they’re divine.Usually get XLB too but so often they over steam and they burst and lose their soup. When they don’t they’re the best XLB in SD in my opinion. Wish they’d be more consistent. Also love the chili peppers with pork and black bean sauce and the spicy fish with tofu. The scallion beef noodles are also great. Not many thing here you can go wrong with honestly.

Surprisingly good. We headed to Convoy to go to another restaurant but as anyone will tell you around this area. Parking is a nightmare at all hours of the day. We found a spot and gave this place a blind try. Portions are big and the food is incredible. We got Spicy Beef Lo Mein, Thai Chicken Fried Rice and Pork Dumplings. It was enough for lunch and dinner for 2 dudes. The Spicy Beef Lo Mein was the standout winner. Great spice (not uncomfortable) and huge flavor.

Very bad service here. When they heard that we have 5 kids and 4 adults and they just prepared a table with 7 seats for us. How can we put fit the 5 kids ( 4-10 years old) into 3 seats? And I also felt rude to hear that “ we ask for 18% tips for over 7 people “. Of course I know we need to give tips and actually every time we tipped over 20%. We do not need you to remind before you even serve us anything! We leave the restaurant immediately and will not recommend you to go there!

The environment and decoration are casual- not fancy at all, but as far as the service and the food are concerned, I only have good things to say about this place. The xiao long bao is delicious. Everything else tastes great. I recommend the Hunan lamb and the green peppers with minced pork. Parking can be complicated at times. The wait time really depends on how busy that night is. Though the last time I went here, the service and the food were not as good as other times, I will certainly go back for the sake of all previous times, and with high expectations.

This place have an amazing spicy noodle. We order that and eggplant, mushroom and bassils everytime visit this place. This place could be very busy during dinner and weekend so you may not want to come in for early dinner or late supper. They give you a free herbal drink when pay cash. This area has so many restaurants around so parking always had issue with parking. I have to park on the street few blocks away most of the time. Its my go to place for a reliable, quality quick meal. They have a standardized recipe so you know what you are getting here every time. Staff are friendly and efficient. Its probably one of the best places for Xiang Lao Bao dumplings - when they have a good day. Other days the chef seems to be too busy to be bothered about our orders. Or like today, they were very doughy and not warm enough. Hard to complain about that since the window of opportunity is only 2-3min.We usually have the spicy fish fillet dish, veggies and white fish in a spicy red sauce with Szechuan pepper, a bit oily, but very tasty.I keep coming back, because its good! Every time we visit San Diego, we have to eat here at least twice. Among the authentic dishes available, we have discovered some amazing soups! Spicy Prawn and Kung Pao Chicken noodle soups are so delicious! Weve also tried a few fried rice dishes, rice cake, dumplings, and steamed buns (crab ones are delicious)! I was notified that they were out of chicken, so I ordered a chicken dish with beef substituted in at the recommendation of my waiter. Took over an hour to be served, with other customers, who ordered after I did, getting served prior to myself. I am not sure what the holdup was, but considering how simple of a dish I ordered (kung pao chicken with beef instead), I find the hour wait time inexcusable. The food was good, I will admit, but the blame for this poor rating is entirely on the service (or very near lack thereof) I received.

This place is so good! We had xiao long bao and some pork dish and both were really tasty. I feel like I could finish two or three containers of the xiao long bao myself. I also tried the Thai iced tea but it wasnt very good. Not strong enough and kind of watery. There was a wait on Saturday night but it was only about 15 minutes. Its in a really bad parking lot.
