2023-09-24 03:04:15Delicious! We enjoyed spring rolls with pork sausage, the broken rice with pork chop, and the green mango salad. The porch chop was especially good, but watch out for that fish sauce if you’re not used to it 🐠. We also had two cocktails: the soaring goddess and a margarita, which came out purple. Note, it’s a little pricey but the food is good as are the drinks. It also had nice ambiance, but note - it will fill up around 7 on Saturday night.

2023-10-26 03:42:17We love this place! Vietnamese with more than a pinch personal expression. Inspired by the meal shared by Anthony Bourdain & President Obama in Hanoi. My kids love to try everything on the menu, but they swear by the rare beef pho. Im a fan of the Bun: oscillating between The Bourdain and The Obama (Bun Cha) They make cocktails and feature a few house drinks. They also feature a lot of local beer and even will serve you a 3 beer flight. Im not aware if they take reservations but Ive never needed one. We sat three on a Friday night and waited about 30 seconds. Nonetheless the restaurant was nearly full. Reasonably priced any night if the week.

2023-07-12 21:40:31We tried a variety of dishes, including the House Special - Bánh Cuốn Đặc Biệt, the Hanoi Banh Cuon Rolls - Bánh Cuốn Thịt Nướng Xả, and the Classic Spring Rolls. The Classic Spring Rolls were a refreshing and light appetizer, perfect for a hot summer day.The Hanoi Banh Cuon Rolls, particularly the version with grilled lemongrass pork were amazing. The pork has a wonderful balance between sweetness and saltiness. The combination of bean sprouts, basil, and soft steamed rice rolls complemented the pork beautifully, and the addition of fried shallots added a delightful crunch. The House Special offered a combination of three different hand-made steamed soft rice rolls filled with ground pork and mushroom, ground shrimp, and plain rice. It was topped with house-cured beef, sweet potato fritters, crispy roll, and green bean & shrimp fried bread. The variety of flavors and textures provided a unique dining experience. The only downside was that the sweet potato fritters were not as crispy as we had hoped.

2023-07-28 21:33:28This is a vegetarian review!!! I am a big pho fan but was a bit disappointed that they had no vegetarian pho (no veggie broth). All good since it definitely is catering to the popular dishes and perhaps where vegetarian pho does not make sense.Still, there are plenty of options that they can customize and make vegetarian. The fried spring roll and tofu spring rolls were really good! In addition the tofu sate was super delicious!

2023-05-22 20:52:58Ive never been to Vietnam. But, I feel like if I ever go, and the food is better than what we have here in the Bay, my stomach will be in big trouble from getting stuffed!Tay Ho is an exceptional Vietnamese restaurant in Oakland run by a mother-and-daughter team. They have many of the traditional offerings you can get at most restaurants. But, they also make Northern Vietnamese style, fresh hand-rolled, steamed rice noodle rolls called - Bánh Cuốn. Two other items of tastiness:Bún Riêu- a bowl of sweet spicy tomato flavor w/shrimp and crab cakes pork and blood pudding!Bánh Khọt- tasty and savory mini crispy pancakes w/ creamy center topped with shrimp, coconut, and scallion sauceService is fast and quick. Parking is a little bit difficult and its street parking.Cant wait to go back and try other delicious items off the menu!

2023-04-06 21:42:44So delicious! It has been a while since I had come back to Tay Ho and it did not disappoint. Their nước mắm is on point and went with every meal. My favorite Vietnamese dish is bánh cuốn and they have a house special with different types of banh cuon and toppings. We also got a banh khot to share- super fresh and crispy. Their Obama bún chả Hà Nội is quite delicious as well! Highly recommend ☺️

2022-12-16 14:42:44Cute little place. It’s small family owned and run business . I loved everything we ordered! We ordered the Hanoi Hipster cocktail and blown away by the presentation. The Fresh rolls, mango salad and braised eggplant, mushrooms and tofu were excellent.

2022-06-28 01:39:04The garlic noodles here are BOMB! The chew on the noodles is heavenly. Its pan-fried wheat noodles topped with fresh basil, roasted garlic, minced garlic, fish sauce butter, and parmesan cheese!Beef spring rolls were also very fresh and their peanut sauce was so good I wished I had ordered extra. They put something fried and crunchy in the roll which I never had before. It added a nice texture variation that I really enjoyed.Be patient as my take out order took around 30 min but I would say it was well worth it and I would go back to try other menu items.

2023-10-04 05:27:02One of our favorite restaurants in the entire Bay area. We are locals and Everytime we go (usually with out of town guests- to show off) we always say we should go more.often by ourselves... because its just SO GOOD!Authentic flavors. Creative plates. Spice and salt. Incredible.Impulsive order of the garlic noodles was legit. They were a highlight for the table!Also... the cocktail game has GREATLY increased since before Covid. We always thought it was somewhat lacking, but now!? Wow good job yall!

2022-01-16 04:31:58We had such a great experience at this restaurant! Felt like we traveled to Vietnam in the East Bay. The tapioca dumplings were amazing, and the pork belly was so great, we were glad that we worked up an appetite before arriving! We will definitely return to try the drinks, try more food, and enjoy the ambience. Also shout outs for the mural of Anthony Bourdain on the outside! Cheers.
