This place is absolutely delicious and has some of my favorite dessert in LA!! The famous matcha soft serve has been my favorite ice cream in LA for over 4 years now because it has such a creamy texture and strong matcha flavor. This soft serve is so decadent without being too heavy and it has a delicate balance of flavors.Their tofu donuts are also my newest obsession because of how fluffy and moist the donuts are!! My favorite is the honey flavor because it’s not too sweet and has a light fragrance :)) I also love the matcha drinks here because they’re so refreshing and light!💰Price:$5.50 for soft serve$3 for tofu donut

Heads up, the parking might be hectic and crowded as it is little Tokyo so even the parking is little. (Its even worse when Anime Expo is around and the anime fanatics/weebs are out absorbing all that is of Japan.)Everything is served as described, great matcha. The soft serve was definitely delicious on its matcha taste, presented in its deep green and cool for the hot day. The lattes were also refreshing when sipping it up. The staff was helpful and will assist on your questions when asked.

Drove 42 miles to come here and glad we did. While parking is incredibly hard to find we lucked out. There’s no seats inside; just order and wait outside. The decor is very appealing. Staff and service is very friendly and welcoming. The menu is limited but they are great at what they do. The only thing we got was the matcha soft serve but it was delicious.

Beautiful texture on the matcha ice cream. Oat milk matcha latte was really great as well. Staff was super friendly and helpful in helping me get the ice cream packed safely on my bicycle basket. Highly recommended and Ill return for sure!

Cafe specializing in matcha. Simple menu for decent price. They sell tea and other knickknacks.Had their Matcha Oat Latte which tasted fresh and good. It was different from the typical matcha latte. It tasted lighter and more tea like. Staff is nice but no indoor seating. Only limited outdoor seating which is fine or you’d just have to do takeout. Would return to try the other things in the menu. Would recommend if you’re in little Tokyo!

Yes. Matcha ice cream is amazing. This tea shop served the best matcha soft serve ice cream. The matcha flavor is infused throughout the vanilla based ice cream, and they even generously sprinkle matcha powder on the ice cream itself. The quality is excellent, and it’s incredibly creamy and decadent.The staff were also so friendly here as we also grabbed some iced matcha teas which were refreshing and delicious during the heat wave here in California.

BEST matcha I’ve ever had in my entire life — I had the iced matcha oat milk latte and wow - first sip was magical. I don’t know how to describe how good it was - the texture, the sugar levels, the ice levels, the flavor was just right. It wasn’t powdery, and it wasn’t too bland. It was a delectable and delightful experience and this cafe deserves all the attention! It’s a small cafe in Honda plaza down in little Tokyo - free parking in the plaza on Sundays - and the seating is limited outside. The service was great, the employees were kind and friendly. Definitely recommend coming here if you’re a matcha fan!

Ordered the matcha soft serve ($5) and the matcha latte ($5.50). There was no line when I went but soon after there was a large crowd waiting. The employee was very friendly and the ordering went smoothly. You order and they have you wait outside with a number and they will bring your order out for you. I found that this was very efficient and convenient. The soft serve had a nice generous portion and tasted very delicious and authentic! I had no trouble finishing it and it did not get sickening. The matcha latte was also very good, not too sweet or bitter. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I am back in Little Tokyo or LA.

The matcha they offer is top notch and absolutely delicious. The kindest and earnest attitude they all have for serving you simple drinks is just infectious. I really loved this place and wish it was much bigger to lounge in (it needs it!). Im definitely saving this as a favorite spot in downtown Los Angeles.Id recommend the matcha latte + oat milk. If youre in for a more traditional drink, try the ceremonial grade matcha—which is served in a ceramic mug and a side of small tofu donut.

I am a bit disappointed about this place that sounds, looks and feels so incredibly authentic and matcha specialized.I personally found Maiko premium matcha way better. The soft serve is too thick and creamy and overall both the matcha latte and soft serve lack matcha. They definitely were a bit stingy on that end. It’s a heavier milk taste. Which is unfortunate. I wouldn’t come back next time. It’s not worth driving here for the matcha in my opinion

Went on a Thursday afternoon around 2pm and only two other customers were there, but while I was sitting outside waiting for my matcha soft serve some more people came. Their matcha soft serve is creamy, not that sweet, with a subtle matcha flavor and has matcha powder sprinkled on top...yummy! They also sell high quality assorted Japanese teas and tea ceremony tools. Service was fairly quick and nice. Limited seating outside their front door.

Parking was easy, Grab a ticket, I didnt get charged for being there 20 minutes in and out with the ice cream. Recommendation for the business owners reading this. One large boba is like $8-10 with tip. the soft served matcha comes in one size and starts at $5.50 Please Make a regular, and large option for the soft serve like dairy queen and other ice cream locations. I will legit pay over $10 for a nice big cup of matcha. Add boba options too like honey and regular boba for your matcha soft served and its a done deal. Im going every week😂🙌🏻

This quaint and cozy shop literally reminds me of the little traditional village shops in Japan! I’ve been to Japan 2 times and explored almost the entire country so when it comes to Japanese food and desserts I have really high expectations as I always compare it to the quality of the food there. I was definitely blown away by the quality if their matcha soft serve here. Right from the first bite you taste the perfect balance of the light sweet taste of the ice cream and the rich matcha flavor. I believe that they use quality matcha all the way from Fukuoka Japan and its absolutely incredible. A lot of ice cream places that have matcha flavors either use very cheap powder and you either barely taste the flavor or you just taste pure bitterness. However, Tea Master’s matcha have an astringent note that perfectly compliments the ice cream and pretty sure it is the type of matcha powder than you can drink by itself unlike the cheap bitter ones from other stores. Typically, high quality matcha does have a sweet aftertaste already without any added sweeteners.I also watched this guy whisking a bowl of hot matcha tea for other customers and you can tell by his finesse that he has down this for so long and is highly skilled. I would definitely come back here to try their drinks as I do love tea.I also love how their soft -serve matcha is fairly cheaper than most place despite the incredible quality.

Must try for any connoisseur of green tea. The star of the show is the green tea but the hidden gem is the Matcha Soft Serve. Well balanced flavor of matcha+milk. Always made to order with sprinkling of matcha powder; served with an earth friendly cup and wooden spoon. Cold green tea with less ice is also great on a hot day.Pro-tip: owners are always willing to answer questions about the tea so ask away. Also, have someone grab a seat while you order if you want to sit and eat.

I’m so stoked to have found this place!! Their matcha latte was super nutty and smooth, rich flavor. They make it with oat milk!! It brings out the umami flavor and it definitely complements the matcha flavor.The gentle man (I suppose the owner) made my latte wholeheartedly and I truly appreciated it..!!They have all these goodies like matcha packages and tea making sets and locally sourced baked goods!They also source donuts from the Ring and the baked donuts are made of tofu and rice flour. And guess what.... it was so fluffy, moist and spongey!! My husband loves donuts but hasn’t been able to eat donuts due to stomach pains. Now he has a go-to place to satire his donut cravings!! And matcha latte for me!!I appreciate their apprenticeship for matcha as you can see they care about the quality of their products and they support local business. The Matcha is always on point of course, don’t forget to order your Matcha Latte Unsweetened because that’s the right way. Tried the matcha soft serve, it was creamy and had a soft texture. Enjoyed it, not a very strong flavour of matcha but a light and fluffy taste. The sifted matcha on top helps bring out a bit of matcha taste. Would recommend if you like matcha, drinks were also available but didnt have a chance to try.

Great dessert and friendly service! I ordered the soft serve matcha and the iced green tea. The soft serve matcha looked quite small when I received it, but it was very deceiving. I couldnt finish it! Super delicious, it was a great balance of creamy and sweet. It wasnt too sweet and not at all bitter. The green tea was also very good and refreshing. I recommend this place especially if you like matcha!

Hands down the best Matcha Green Tea ice cream in Little Tokyo. This small little cafe specializes in Matcha Green Tea, they serve all sorts of Matcha, from Latte to ice cream. My son and I will definitely stop by this place when we are in the area. He loves their Matcha ice cream. The only downside is during peak hours, the parking will be hard to find due to some other restaurants.

In some ways, this is better than what we had in Kyoto. The color isnt as vibrant as Kyoto style match soft serve, to me, it is more realistic color. What is superior is the consistency of the ice cream itself. Very rich and smooth. Best match soft serve Ive tasted outside of Japan.

This is THE SPOT for matcha lattes. They use oat milk so its great for us lactose intolerant people. The only downside is I only know this location and so when you crave a good matcha latte your going to have to drive to LA because none of the other spots even come close. I went there when they were not busy. I ordered the ice cream then I sat outside and waited. I saw guys who came after got their drinks and ice cream. So I went to the counter and checked if they forgot my ice cream. Then the cashier guy rudely and impatiently told me just to wait. Then I asked “did you just forget my order?” Then he said the receipt fell. It’s your fault and it made me wait long. Don’t you know how to say”Sorry”? So rude and impatient.

They offer a wide selection of authentic matcha products from high grade teas, to soft serve ice cream and various smoothies. A lovely small shop specializing in Japanese soft-serve with delicious matcha in the heart of Little Tokyo near downtown LA. Ordered a lovely matcha soft serve that was amazing with delicate creamy soft but not freezing cold soft-serve. Really tasty matcha soft serve. I could go with an even denser matcha flavor, but it is wholly present. The soft serve itself is very creamy, and strikes that balance between light and dense that makes for good mouth feel satisfaction.The cold matcha tea was decent. Quite enjoyable, but I think wife and I are just forever spoiled by our green tea experiences in Kyoto.Service was incredibly friendly and informative, and I was walked through their sencha and matcha selection in detail to help me decide what I would like to drink on a daily basis. The best, most affordable, highest quality matcha you will ever taste! I came here with a friend after eating lunch at Daikokuya, and was blown away by their green tea soft serve. Probably my favorite from any green tea shop I’ve been to. Perfectly creamy and delicious, and good for sharing! I also tried their iced matcha latte, made with oat milk. I had never tried oat milk with matcha lattes before (I generally use unsweetened almond milk), and honestly can’t imagine my life without it, as it’s the best alternative to cow’s milk on the market. I usually like my drinks on the sweeter side, however theirs was perfect. No matcha latte from any other tea shop will compare...ever.

I love coming here:) There’s always great, friendly customer service and I like that they use oat milk for their teas. It works really well with the earthy flavor of the teas. The sweetness is always perfect and not overpowering. The tea is fresh and does not taste artificial like many other tea places. The menu is small so there aren’t many items on it, but I like to view it as quality over quantity. Definitely one of my favorite tea spots!

My favorite drink here is the matcha latte made with oat milk. The oat milk gives it a nutty base, enhancing the matcha flavor. The owners source their tea directly from Japan so its really high quality. Their soft serve is delicious and the smoothie is a great way to perk up on a hot day. None of their stuff is too sweet either, just the perfect subtle flavor!

This place is quite small and not a place to really hang out with a big group.However, with about 5 full stars and over 600 reviews on Yelp, definitely a place to visit again and again.I tried the matcha smoothie, which was very delicious and not too sweet. They are also known for their ice cream, which I didnt get to try.The reason I am not giving 5 full stars is because I think its a bit overpriced, especially for the size of the ice cream that you are paying for.Other than that, its a delicious place for a day trip.

This is probably the best matcha Ive ever tried. I love the hole-in-the-wall feel and personal touches the owners have added throughout the very small storefront. The hot matcha latte was the best Ive ever had in both the states and Japan! Although the iced latte is good for summer, I like it better hot. Unlike the green tea lattes in corporate cafe chains (*cough*) that are pumped with syrup, they were lightly sweetened and made with oat milk. Always a favorite esp. among the college crowd. Its a small mom and pop shop so the wait times may be longer than lets say, McDonalds. However, its worth the experience. I discovered Tea Master with the help of a friend who visited it frequently and introduced it to me. Now, with the help of Yelp and social media, this place is jam packed during the nights and I see a lot more diversity in regards to the patrons who visit it. Im happy for the owners because theres a lot more foot traffic in their store that helped them hire more people. It started off with the lovely Japanese couple and I believe one of the workers is their son; cant be certain since Ive never asked but he just looked like the owner. Matcha soft serve will never let you down and its perfect for any occasion, especially when youre sick; thats when I crave ice cream. I tried the soft serve green tea ice cream to go and loved it so much I went back for a second one. The second one was a noticeably smaller serving. When I asked for the same size serving as I had received the first time I received dumb looks and stupid stares. At first they were going to try and not serve me but finally did without increasing the serving to match what I was served the first time earlier that same day. This happened about a month and a half ago. This is located in Little Tokyo and almost all of their clientele seem to be Japanese. I need to see if Pinkberry still serves almost the same soft se be with matcha powder.Update:Today I was going to order two of the soft serve to go and I asked for some water with ice (as the person is putting ice into a glass). I was refused the water with ice. I was told I could have room temperature water or purchase cold water for $2.00I said “so you are telling me that you will not serve me a courtesy water with ice?” as Im looking right at the ice she had been putting into a glass. When I said that I will be sure to share my experience that I have experienced here today, the man behind counter told me they would not serve me and he asked me to leave. A (Japanese) man in his early twenties (a customer it turns out) started telling me, in a very hostile tone, to leave and that I was bothering him because Im asking the proprietor why they could not give me a courtesy cup of water with ice. I was there to purchase two servings of soft serve to go. What an impression they have left me with. I was also told that I could go to Starbucks and they would give me ice water. I wonder if my being a Caucasian man had anything to do with why I was treated so poorly.Recent update:On my recent visit I received excellent service and the matcha soft serve was good as ever. Based on this visit I am restoring this to a full five stars.

This place is the best for matcha in LA- perhaps the planet! The owner, Diagoro and his wife, are some of the sweetest people. They are true craftsmen. They practice the art of creating matcha everyday and it shows in their products. The soft serve matcha is addicting (in the best way possible). They even change up their products regularly if they dont feel the integrity of the drinks are holding up i.e. they originally served the matcha latte with coconut milk and realized that serving it with oat milk was better. We visited Tea Master on the hot day where the temperature was in the high 90s. As we walked into the shop, it felt like you were walking into an oven. I dont know if the shop has A/C or it was broken that day but it was not very pleasant.The shop is small and has limited seating. They serve their tea latte with oatmilk, which was new for me although it tasted great with the matcha. I truly enjoyed the drink and service here. I even got to try the soft serve, which is definitely worth a try.The downside to this place would have to be their parking. It is incredibly difficult to find free parking here. The lot where the shop is located offers 20 minutes of free parking if you tell the guard that you are there to pick up. Another downside is that it was really stuffy inside the shop, which made it a little uncomfortable to be inside while drinking my tea. Other than that the shop is worth making a trip to.

Ok matcha ice cream I guess, though found it watery, chalky and mildly sweet - if the service wasnt so bad, I would have been a lot more open to this very different type of ice cream. But after waiting for quite some time for what was fundamentally soft serve, it was a bit insulting to be told as you handed us our order that you were closing soon and should leave. If anything, it would have been nice to be told that when we got there, or that pulling the dispenser handle would take over 20 minutes. One of the best places for green tea related products. He is the tea master, plus, the green tea does not have that grittiness that lower quality green tea has. They take pride in their green tea, so dont expect the fastest service.

I tried ceremonial grade matcha and matcha soft serve. I think the soft serve here is so over-rated. The matcha tea is just ok
