First food and drinks were great! Ambiance for a Friday night: loud music, dark, with fluorescent lightings. Our server was nice. Food came out fresh,(I had the mariscos torra)hot, my partner ordered the cheesy green enchiladas,sorry no pic. Those came out hot and cheesy and my margarita flight was on point! Next time we come back Id rather sit outside, less traffic and noise.

The Atmosphere was pretty neat, someone put a lot of money into the decor, I would have preferred a paper menu, having to scroll through so many pages made me not even want to order, I had a quesodilla that was full of flavor. My boyfriend had some tacos and thought they were pretty good

Came here for brunch after Mass. it was super convenient to make a reservation using Open Table.It was not busy yet at noon and we were shown to our table right away. The greeter and waitress were very attentive.The brunch menu is different than the regular menu. We had mistakenly been perusing the regular menu and after making our selections we learned that we were not looking at the correct menu. The items we had chosen were not available on the brunch menu so we started over.My husband ordered the birria tacos. He said they were delicious. I had the Mr Tempo Special that had a variety of items. It’s a good way to taste more than one menu item at a time.We also had the margarita flight. The server brought it with a torch! She lit a sparkler and it was a lot of fun. The mango was our favorite.Come for the margaritas and stay for the great food!Provecho!

Bad experience, went on a Monday evening around 7p.m. place had a few tables occupied. We literally had sat down for 5 min and our waiter came and asked us if we were ready to order, we said no, she came back in 3 min and asked us again. We ordered drinks and the tomahawk steak.First off, great presentation, the burning of the edges on steak by waiter was a good show. steak look wonderful. Although after first bite, the steak tasted and smelled like propane. It lost the genuine great taste of a great piece of meat. Literally took one bite and couldnt do it. We ordered a side of rice, and instantly it smelled like it had gone bad. It was brought up to the waitress and she said it was fine. But the smell and gewy taste of the rice made me sick to my stomach. Will not return thanks

This place has a great atmosphere to chill and have a few drinks. They have plenty to choose from you and will want to try them all. There food is so good, full of flavor. They are a bit on the expensive side but In my opinion well worth it. I highly recommend you try it out for yourself.

Second time here, and this time, it was a rip-off. They tried to charge me $24 for some pancakes. This is crazy. This place is over price and will rob you. Do go here. I asked for over medium, my eggs was hard. Ask for med Rare my steak was medium well. Then I asked can we sit inside they said No. However there was others sitting inside. Im so disappointed.BBB will be hearing about this next.

Started with “La Tusa” cocktail I would absolutely recommend it if you don’t like the taste of alcohol! The cotton candy made the drink sweet hiding the taste of any alcohol and wasn’t overly sweet in my opinion. The carne asada plate was very filling. The churros were amazing and came with lots of dipping options but I stuck with caramel 🤤. (Strawberry & chocolate syrup, condensed milk were also available)

This place is full of good vibes. I’d recommend going on a Friday or closer to the weekend. They play a lot of reggeaton🔥. Our food was ready within 5-10 of being ordered. I highly recommend the birria Torta and the margarita flight. I would definitely go back!

This place is over priced and pretenses. They don’t even offer grass of tap water. The food is average and the drink selection is poor. Only one menu per table and it’s paper with limited items. Their QR menu is awful. Not impressed at all, another disappointed place thanks to social media. If your willing to pay their prices then you have many better choices to eat with out furniture thats rusted or sticky from removed stickers

Wonderful experience coming here. The sparklers to the tomahawk steaks, wonderful. Drinks were different and the variety of alcohol were plentiful. Make reservations before arriving here.They have 5 different kinds of margarita, you can order the flight if you dont know which one is your favorite yet .All the tacos are delicious. Many items are shareable. Can come for evening out or family too.Loud music with plenty of new experiences.Parking is difficult especially at night, there is valet for $8, but parking nearby neighborhood is easy too.Its near neighborhoods and other bars and restaurants.Feels like a club but with no dance floor. Very fun and interactive. They also sell long stem roses too.

Way overpriced, but its still good food. They even charge for bottled water. The margarita flight came fancy with sprinklers but really its pretty mediocre. The fries and burgers were pretty good and the sauces were nice.If youre just looking for good food, go somewhere else, but if youre wanting to celebrate something with a bit of flare and dont mind the prices, then come.

Weve been to the restaurant a few times and love the food. Everything taste fresh and unique. Presentation is always on point. However, the food is only a small part of why this place is so great. Their service is amazing!We stopped by most recently on Mothers Day. The restaurant was full but we were attended to as if we were the only customers in the restaurant.When I asked for extra salsa our server asked for it over her walkie-talkie. When it didnt arrive in a few minutes she went over and got it herself and apologized. The salsa wasnt life of death but (I was fine without it) but the effort was greatly appreciated.I was also impressed by their speed of service. While still ordering our food another server came over with the drinks we had just orders minutes before...while our server was still finishing our order!!The food is great. Everything was delicious. What made the experience memorable was the service.

Yesterday I went. The male server with the tight jeans and braces immediately had an attitude with us and kept walking away before we were able to finish ordering. Didn’t speak didn’t greet us didn’t make eye contact.Then when we got our drinks there was a bug in it so we refused to eat (food was untouched) they wanted us to pay ???? Why would we want to eat and there bugs in the drinks????The tiny short lady manager with red lipstick on threatened to call the police on 3 black women? I felt like that was a threat. Then lied in front of the other managers saying she never said that. Then tried to slip at 15 dollar charge on the receipt.One male manager threw a receipt at us ?The security guard treated to put his hands on us and then told valet in Spanish to not give us our car keys. I guess he thought blank women don’t understand Spanish and tried to use a language barrier to withhold the car keys. Luckily I knew Spanish. THATS RACIST !

I had lunch at Tempo Cantina. A definite MUST try. The decor was vibrant. There was good music playing with the music videos on the TV screens throughout the restaurant. Their staff was friendly and shared great food recommendations. They knew we were on lunch break and provided quick service so that we were able to make it back to work on time. We tried the bone marrow tacos, quesa birria tacos, shishito peppers, taquitos, butter cake, Tempo pudding, and chocolate brownie. Everything was delicious. The serving portions are great! I had leftovers, which I always love. I would definitely order all of these items again. All of the desserts were delicious, but my fave was the bread pudding. To drink I had the Tamarindo Aguas frescos. Theres lots of menu options. Im excited to come back and try more.

We reserved our table online a couple of hours before, the price of valet parking was reasonable. We were immediately seated at our table. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. I liked the design of the menu, the waiting time for our food was very fast, we ordered the tomahawk, they specified the waiting time, when ordering. I love the flavor and the drinks. The music and the atmosphere is excellent. The bathrooms need a little more cleaning attention, but they were still not bad. Solo nos falto conocer a Mr. Tempo, un buen lugar!!

Great restaurant with good vibes and atmosphere. They do have a valet parking which makes it easy to get in when they aren’t busy. Hard to find parking on street. The food has really good flavor. Price point for what you get I would say it is a little higher than I would expect. The drinks were extremely good.I would definitely recommend this for a girls night out, and/or date night.

Great food and vibe. The happy hour special are excellent and the service is also very good. I had an issue one time with a table in the past, when they were very busy and Brian one of the main hosts was very professional and resolved the situation in no time.Chips, Fish tacos and Birria are great choices, but, the flaming Tomahawk steak, VIP sushi and Churro waffles take the prize. This is about the parking situation. They have only valet parking. Its $8 at the time of this review. Waited 10 mins, nobody came to speak to me. I have handicap parking, informed them of that when they finally came, they told me theyre all occupied. Guy ran off across the street so I went & parked my truck myself, there were 2 open handicap spots, I get out of my truck & the guy is trying to give me a parking ticket & I said what for? I parked it myself while you ran off food & service is good at the restaurant. Parking is garbage

I been coming to this location for 5 years now. Everytime I come the service gets worse and worse!!! The food is good, but they take forever to take your order. They dont even bring you water, they charge $4 for a bottle of water. They refuse to bring water on a cup. If you want more salsa or anything else they charge extra. They will charge you for everything. I came yesterday for the last time we had reservations and they took 20 mins to take our order. We had to ask someone to come take our order. I would understand if it was packed. But it was pretty empty. People that came after us got their food before us. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!

Great atmosphere, its a large space & cool decor. Drinks & food were just ok. Parking is not great, you can valet or park on the street, which is not ideal for late night food/drinks. The service was not great at all. The waiters seemed annoyed to serve us or that simple requests for water were an inconvenience. They also have odd policies for larger parties, including not honoring happy hour & automatic gratuity even if the large party/check has been paid, you arrive late & order 1 thing on your own? Yup, you will still be charged the same automatic gratuity. Overall the experience was ok, but I wont be back based on the service & parking alone

So first of all the parking sucks. Theres either street parking (2 hour limit) which is hard to find or valet parking which sounds to me like theyre taking advantage of customers for their lack of parking space. Second of all DO NOT MENTION ITS SOMEBODYS BIRTHDAY OR THEY WILL COME OUT WITH A LAMBORGHINI TREAT WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT AND CHARGE YOU FOR IT. It was my birthday and when making reservations, it asked for the occasion so we put bday. The waitress never mentioned anything about a bday treat. To our surprise they brought out the Lamborghini which consisted of ice cream and 6 little pieces of churro. They sang happy bday. To our surprise, when the bill came, they charged us $20 for that bs. Definitely not worth it! Most restaurants give free little bday treats, but nope not this one! Just beware!We went for brunch and the brunch menu was very limited. The food was okay, the chilaquiles were okay but the pancakes were pretty good. They dont even provide free water, you have to pay for bottled water.Cant say I would go again or recommend because of the way they tricked us into paying $20 for something we never ordered. They need to be upfront with their customers because this is not the way to conduct business.The atmosphere was nice but their prices are very expensive. It was $26 for the Ferrero pancakes alone (short stack). The entire bill came out way higher than expected

We went around 9:30 wait time was not bad but once seated the table was dirty and had to interrupt the host to wipe it down first before she tried to rush an order. We had to ask a different host for napkins and ask Maria for silverware after she brought out the food. She paid little to no attention. The night was not packed She could have done better. The food was terrible my girl and I got food poisoning. The buss boys were the ones that actually cared about us. Overall experience was terrible and would not recommend.

We went on a Sunday and they told us wait time will be 1 hour. We parked in their valet parking, checked in and ended up going in before the hour. We were a big group of 12 people and they made our food pretty fast. All of their food was delicious specially the surf and turf tacos and the hot cheetos sushi was one of my favorite. I can say it a little pricey but if you go during happy hour and pay happy hour price. You wont hurt your pocket, lol. Everything we ordered tasted pretty good, Especially the octopus with the salad. It was so delicious !If you’ve never tried octopus give it a try. The place is pretty good to be honest. The servers are very nice and attentive with a good sence of humor which is very important. This was actually my first time going with friends that love going there. Im not going to lie, their drinks are actually pretty good. So if you ever have a chance, stop by and try it out.

There are better quality restaurants that do not limit your time to eat and drink, the food was ok but couldn’t really enjoy it do to the pressure of the time limit. Drinks were typical. Tables were too small . Valet is rushing you off when you’ve just been asked to clear the table as soon as your time is up. Would not recommend this place if you like to enjoy your dinner especially if it’s for a special event or occasion. Mr. Tempo you need to do a better job especially catering to customers. Let me start off by saying 10+ pages for a menu which you scan via QR code on the table is not a good way to start off the ordering process because there is so much to choose from which can be overwhelming. the whole restaurant was extremely loud with the music blaring over the waiters voice when taking our order, inside the bathrooms and even out in the lobby area when we were trying to tell the hostess how many people were in our party and she could barely hear us. i wont go into detailed specifics as i no longer have the receipt but it seemed as though the prices on some items were a bit too much for the amount of food portion size received or the quality of the ingredients was lacking and tasted bland.

First time coming to Tempo cantina, can here for lunch valet parking was $8.00 dollars but free in you park on Paramount Blvd. Place was full of paintings and decor and looked really clean . I order from the lunch Menu some chicken enchiladas and a watermelon agua fresca. Enchiladas were tasty and were a good sized. Did not come with beans or rice so I spend an additional $20 for the side orders. My wife had a grill chicken and veggies. I rate this place a 4 for their food. 4 1/2 for location and 4 stars for service. For a lunch for two I ended up paying $68 plus $8 tip so quite pricey for a lunch for two

I came here during lunch time and was a bit disappointed. The menu was sticky to start and there were quite a few flies in the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and recommended the tempo burger. The meat itself lacked and flavor and the fried egg was more like sunny side up. It still had a lot of goo on it. Definitely not worth the $19 price tag. My wife had the fish ceviche which she really enjoyed.

I reserved a table online on a Saturday night, upon arrival at the reserved time the table wasnt ready. Okay, no biggie. There was two other parties ahead of us and were seated before us. The possibility is they also had reservation. Moving along... I have a thing about my entree coming out first prior to my appetizer. We ordered drinks and for my martini I didnt really get to taste the alcohol. Our food tasted delicious and came out very quickly, no complaints there. Lastly, after all the food came out and we ate everything... I was craving dessert, the menu show cased 5 only 3 were available and the cheesecake was one of them.We liked the food and portion sizes, the location is okay, the atmosphere was a little loud and the spacing was tight specifically for those who were a little more heavier or in the isle. Id go back maybe a little earlier so I dont catch the crowd and with hopes the dessert I want is available.

I had never been to Tempo Cantina and stopped by with some colleagues after a work function. All I have to say is this place is awesome! Once you dig through all 50 pages of their menu (joking… kinda) you will find that their food is amazing. I had a Cali burrito to play it safe and it was delicious. Our table also ordered the sushi boat and the sushi was good too! Literally everything I tried at Mr. Tempo was amazing. I’ll have to look and see where other locations are but this is a must if you want a fun experience with good food.Only word of advice, it’s street parking only here. Or you can fork over $$ for valet parking…

Where do I begin?Well, I will start with parking. You can park on the street or pay $8 for valet. I did valet because I didnt feel like searching for parking. It was quick and easy.Walking up to the restaurant I instantly felt like I was in Miami or Vegas. The music was LOUD and there were bottle girls almost naked walking around and a ton of stuff going on. I was overwhelmed. EVERYTHING WAS LOUD and I had no clue what the hostess was even saying. That was really badMy friend and I were sitting inside and I dont think they had air conditioning. The restaurant was cute and hip and I loved the decor. However, It was HOT and the music was loud. So loud I couldnt think straight or converse with my friend. That was pretty bad again, I couldnt even hear the waitress. Im serious it was loud! We asked if we could sit outside and the waitress was nice enough to move us. It was better. Maybe we were sitting under a speaker inside but it was bad. Outside we also had a breeze. The music was still loud as heck, but I could hear my friend a bit more.I tried the Burria Tacos and they were really good. It was my first time having them so I was happy! I think my friend had the Aguachiles and it was delicious and fresh and seasoned well.I ordered 3 Whiskey Smash and they were excellent and strong. I wish I could have ordered it by the bucket lol. So good.My friend had 2 Whiskey smash and one Sangria and she enjoyed them as well.The customer service was okay all around. Our waitress Evelyn was nice and informative. I enjoyed her.I probably wont be back ONLY because the vibe and loud music isnt what I want if Im trying to converse with friends. Again it gave a Miami Beach, beach club, Vegas poolside vibe and I dont think thats my vibe.The food is yummy though so I would order to go!The music was way too loud and this is a club that offers good food. if you dont like clubs, dont come here.

Very oily and no flavor! We had to ask for a new batch and once they brought it out I had to throw up. I couldn’t believe how sick I was! I didn’t even eat the dessert afterwards. Like a lot of other people said, it’s very pretentious, they charge for valet $8 for a restaurant and small bar location which in Downey with an almost empty parking lot is RIDICULOUS LOL. It’s very Rip off club vibes, not the spot to go to in all honesty, because the food is great. But the business practices are horrible, and can completely turn people completely off to ever eating here again, like it did myself. I’m not going to waste my time explaining to anyone from here or the establishment on proving anything. I know what went on that one day I came in, and the experience was horrible. Make better choices on your business practices please and then MAYBE, I’ll consider coming back. Because the food is great but I don’t need to feel like I’m gonna get slapped with a random $200 bill for 3 people, with a by the way seating time limit at the restaurant LOL.

Was in between 4-5 stars but gotta give it to them. It stands out from the new Hipster Mexican restaurants. What I think put them at 5 for me was how good that wet burrito sauce was on the pork belly burrito. The ingredients all had good flavor but thag stood out. The michelada was good nothing special other than them bringing their house beer and clamato to the table and mixing it in front of you. The margarita flight was a nice unique option and 2/5 of them stood out to us. The service was friendly and they were attentive. Prices are above average.

First time going to this place. Went late on a Saturday, last minute but been wanting to try this place for a while. Seating was quick, sat us inside. What I didnt like, theres a time frame to sitting Inside, didnt like that although the waitress didnt rush us, she was so nice. We got several plates and let me say, each one was pretty good. Parking is Valet only, kind of sucks and also we asked about parking our own car, lady said no which was a bummer, they have to be understanding looking at the type of car atleast let us do so, so we ended up parking outside! First upon arrival they charge $8 for Valley parking. There was plenty of parking cuz the other businesses were closed because it was Sunday and Fathers Day. I went here by way of recommendation from someone else who tries this place.The wait time to be seated wasn’t that bad for a Saturday night…we waited approximately 15 min…if that. If you’re hungry, this is not the place to go if you’re looking for a hardly meal.PARKING is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! There was a line to get into valet parking and street parking wasn’t available, so we parked at a neighboring shopping center (in the Shakey’s parking lot) and had our vehicle towed! Upon arrival, we noticed a guard waiting around aimlessly and also noticed a girl (pictured) sitting on a handrail who appeared to be a little suspicious, but we paid no mind to it. Sadly, we should’ve paid attention to her…as she was working with the guard to tow vehicles as patrons of Tempo Cantina parked their vehicles there. Needless to say, DON’T PARKING IN THE SHAKEY’S LOT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY $420 to get your car from the tow yard. I know this has nothing to do with Tempo Cantina, but it’s very unfortunate that the majority of the people getting their cars towed were patrons of Tempo Cantina.

During happy hour. 🤨 I had been seated for 13mins when I had to finally flag down someone, but since she wasnt my waitress, she couldnt help me. When she finally called him over, he stated to her that I had just gotten seated. He brought me napkins and a fork and left again. 18mins after being seated I finally got my order taken. I had 3 other friends meet me there and they got the same type of service from him. We had to keep calling other waiters/waitresses to get him to come over. Okay so i’m the type to look at reviews before going to places and look at their menu before to see if it’s worth my buck. For one the food was honestly excellent, the drinks were a 7. Also the prices on the menu arent the price they charge at the restaurant. So double check with them what the actual price is. My mistake was that i didn’t tell them. Maybe they need to update their menu on the website. Second, the only thing i feel like ididnt agree with was that since we were a party of six they were already charging me 18% extra for their tip as a “Thank you”. So basically everyone that served us since we were a bigger party got a piece of that tip. But i don’t believe it’s fair that i have to tip every single one because literally the only person or two people i felt like they deserved it was the guy that brought the tomahawk steak and the gentlemen that kept coming back to clear out our table. There was a lady that brought me my plates and legit just tossed them on my table. She deadass stacked a plate of rice and beans on a platter that had food already on it, and put another plate of food on a chair next to me and just walked away. i was trying to clear our table like to make room so she can place them down but no, she didn’t give me the chance to do that and stacked our plates of food onto one another lol. Sorry this is a long review. This is just my experience. Another thing the waiter we got still took another 40-50min to bring us our check. He only showed up at the beginning, and the end to get the payment. He still said if we’d like to an extra tip for him…idk this was a 50/50 type of thing. Maybe just don’t go with a big party.

The place is big, so you are usually seated promptly. Service is attentive, and the food is good. Drinks are awesome! Margarita flights shouldnt be missed. Birria tacos are really good. The only part that sucks is the parking. They charge you $8 for valet parking. If you choose to park yourself, you need to find street parking and its difficult to find some, especially in the evening and weekends. I had my car towed for parking nearby and didnt pay attention to the signs. It was not cheap. Might be the reason why they charge for parking 🤔. I will not visit this location, Ill stick to the Brea location.

Excellent food and Drinks. BEWARE of the 30% Tip. Everything was excellent but when it came time to paying I handed my card to the waitress, and she handed back the tablet and said sign here please. I signed but immediately remembered I had not entered a tip amount. I asked the waitress and it turns out the tip had been set at 30%, now call me stingy if you want but 30% IS WAY TOO HIGH. So if you are going to dine here be mindful of their default tip amount.

I have been here before, and honestly this time around it wasnt the best experience. I understand that at times services get busy and they have to meet and greet others. You want you enjoy your experiance and come out once in a while since. We where sitting outside in the patio, it was cold and it started to sprinkle, we asked the server if we could move since we didnt have enough of the tarp outside to cover us from the rain. It was not a big deal so he let us move to one of his other tables. Food was okay, kind of cold and drinks where not quality . At the end we felt rushed to leave, I was enjoying myself but I guess we over stayed our welcome. Then we asked the waiter for our check . I dont know if its a common practice to charge for the gratuity of 6 people when we where only 5 guest. We paid it and we also left extra tip. I would just appreciate the honesty of the waiter and not putting the guest that where not there so they could charge what they wanted. We honestly are kind of disappointed with the whole experience and everyone should double check there receipt hopefully this wont happen again.

This place is a joke. It’s mediocre food at best, just presented very well. The cook or owner thinks he’s a Michelin chef or something special. They won’t let you make even the smallest changes to you meal, they take forever to take your order and also to bring it out. The service was horrible, just a bunch of young entitled kids expecting tips without a single standard of service being implemented. When they ask if you want water, they mean, do you want a $4 water bottle? If you request tap water, they bring you a small plastic cup. When you order a meal, if they ask do you want beans and rice? The beans and rice are $5 each. When they ask if you want chips and guac when you sit, they mean $16 chips and guac. They need to be more clear about what they are charging! Food was fine but Im never going here again.
