I have been to this restaurant many times. I love the lunch specials. Teriyaki is one of my favorite chicken recipes and I enjoy this item on the menu. If you are looking for a nice meal once you have ordered and paid on your way in your food is delivered to your table very quickly. If you are looking for a delicious lunch and you have limited time, you should stop at this restaurant. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the building interior, while clean, could use a basic renovation.

The gals at the front are so sweet and accommodating! Food is fantastic portions, I tweaked my order a bit and they didnt flinch! All smiles! I hadnt been here in years...maybe 9-10 years. First, the fact that it still packs em in and still serves good, great-value Japanese-American food after 10 years is a testament to quality, service, and value. And thats really the headline for my review - quality, service, and value! Not the best youll eat, but the best, high quality, at a great value price. My lunch of a half (4 piece), and also a full 8 piece sushi roll and a small chicken teriyaki bowl, with soft drink (including refills) and tip...under $20. You order at the register, so it seemed like a self-service kind of place. But the server brought everything to the table and was attentive with water and drink refills. Im really happy I went back after 10 years!

Disappointed. I come here often. Stopped coming because the service slacks. My son bought me a gift certificate for my birthday, so I stopped in to get a to go order; nearly $100. An issue with order, so I call in and just get a bunch of flack. Not cool. You need better management. A GREAT manager deals, they dont fold. Now I dont want to even eat my food. What a waste.8/5 ~ 2 days later, no comments.

The food was awesome!! Everything was great with the exception of the young lady Jayden, she was extremely rude to my wife when taking our order at the front. It was our first time and we were on vacation from out of state. She made obnoxious faces as if we needed to order immediately. She made rude comments as if we needed to hurry up and order. We felt rushed and not welcomed. If we werent with friends, we would have left. EVERYONE else was great, otherwise the place would have received a 5 star.

Very bad experience with the assistant manager. Literally looked me in my eyes twice and ignored me. Didn’t even ask me for over 30 minutes if I needed anything let alone a refill on my drink. Food was disgusting attitude from the manager was disgusting. I come here probably 3 times a week and to get this level of service is atrocious. Manager looked high as a kite can’t even hear a word. This used to be a great place to eat back in the day.

Ive been her multiple times and never had a bad experience. Its one of those pay first, pick your seat, and then receive your food type of place. You dont get a specific server but they are always roaming around looking to refill sodas,etc.A pretty good view of Oceanside and the 78. There is a bar at the front if you dont want to table. I can vouch for the dinner specials. Its a whole lot of food

I have been coming to Teri cafe since around 2007ish, and it never disappoints. Whether youre craving some teriyaki chicken or some sushi, Teri Cafe always seems to hit the spot. This most recent visit was dine-in with great sanitary precautions. They assign you a clean table to sit at after you order, and everything is brought to you with people wearing masks. Service was great, they are always checking up on you to make sure everything is good. And the food is delicious as always. Highly recommend eating here for lunch or dinner.

Been here a handful of times.I really wanted to like this place as I used to love the one in Clairmont before closing down.Order at the counter then have a seat. This place can get busy so if there are no seats, sit at the bar.Ive had a couple of different ramens; Tonkatsu and Soy Sauce. Meh, its alright. The shrimp tempura was good and the highlight of all my meals.Overall, not a place Id choose to eat at but will follow family and friends who wants to dine here.

We were shocked about the style of this restaurant, feels like it would fit well near a college area because of the concept. You walk in and order upfront, then they give you a number and your food is delivered to your table. The servers or food runners are not attentive, we need condiments and we were not sure who to ask. The ramen was okay, sushi was good, definitely ok for a quick lunch.

Japanese restaurant and bar with a nice Hawaiian vibe and very friendly service. While there are dedicated ramen shops throughout San Diego county that do ramen arguably better, the ramen at Teri Cafe is actually pretty good, and their sushi rolls have thick slices of fish in them. My only criticism of the ramen, and it is a very minor one, was that the egg was completely hard coiled versus medium or soft boiled as is traditionally found in ramen, but again, it is a very minor criticism. I had both the Tonkotsu ramen and the Aloha Roll, and the slice of tuna on top of the roll was thick and tasty, moreso than what you normally get at most sushi places. As mentioned before, the service is friendly, and on my first visit here the hostess walked me patiently through the menu and ordering method (orders are placed prior to seating at the front register). Very kid-friendly as I noticed a few families with young children during lunch. Will definitely be back with my family on a future visit.

We come here for takeout at least twice a month, my partner is vegetarian and loves their avocado rolls, usually gets 3 orders. The salmon skin roll is my favorite, highly recommend. The portions are a very nice size, especially if you get ramen, for the price. I had the ramen one week and ended up saving the rest of my food for the next day. The staff are very nice when picking up, our only qualm would be wait time. It usually takes a little longer than the estimated time, still you should totally give them a try!

I made a mistake on my order. I am deadly allergic to avocado and I remembered my order had it on there right before it was coming out. I immediately let the server know, and she had MY mistake recorrected so I could enjoy my meal. I was extremely embarrassed, but the server made me feel like it was a simple mistake. The entire staff behind the bar were super friendly and funny.My go to is definetly the Chicken Curry Fried Rice and I add an extra egg and extra chicken with no Peas....cause anything green is too healthy for me Lol!! IDK if this place has a new manager or cook. I order from here at minimum once a month for the past 12 years.The portions have been shrinking and now I must tell the world.We pay way to much to be bowl portioned.$12 plate came out looking like this. (See picture below)Wife got the bowl with shrimp and it had a non divided plate, completely full.Mind you when you eat in, your plate is double sized for presentation.Make sure you open your order before you leave. This way, the person who handed it to you can look at the cook, the same way I looked at this plate when I opened it at home.Hopefully the manager of this location actually reads their reviews, or has Teri Cafe gotten so big they dont care about what got them to opening multiple locations? Very good food, freshly prepared and delicious. This is one of two locations, the other one is off plaza drive from the 78 in Oceanside. Of the two locations, we prefer the plaza drive location because it seems lighter inside and because there they also have outdoor seating. At this location, due to the architecture of the building, which used to be a steak house type of restaurant, its dark inside and they dont have outdoor seating.

I love Japanese food! I placed an order with Leia the cashier who works at the front counter. I ordered (1)Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, (1) serving of the Beef Yakisoba, and (1) order of the (Chocolate and Strawberry) Mochi Ice Cream. The Teriyaki Chicken was really tender and delicious, the carrots and broccoli was crispy vegetables, the white rice was flavorful and the teriyaki sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to it. The Beef Yakisoba wasa satisfying combination, and the Mochi Ice Cream with the strawberry and chocolate flavors was refreshing and delicious. The bean paste on the outside was chewy goodness. The customer service was excellent. Leia the cashier was really friendly and helpful. This was a take out order. I highly recommend Teri Cafe.

Had the Thursday special aka chicken, rice and California roll, banzai Ramen aka my favorite and the tempura which came with 2 shrimps, 2 green beans, 1 sweet potato and 1 zucchini and dipping sauce. Safety and social distancing was working at this favourite restaurant of mine. Had a meal that was more than a pleasure, after being holded up for months. The meal was excellent and service was outstanding. They never rushed us and our satisfaction was their first concern. The food goes without question as the best in Southern California. I dont know why this restaurant has so many good reviews, the food was actually really bad. I get that its like a Hawaiians Japanese style but they mix ingredients that dont go well with each other. (Like the tonkoutsu Ramen) the ramen had a very strong citric flavor like it doesnt go well with the ramen.Service was fast which means the food was already made. (Chicken beef) and they just put it in your plate. I did not have enough time to enjoy my beer and appetizers before my plate.

Good food, good pricing. (Covid setup) they have a nice big tent out with tables big enough for 4 people. Super simple—pay at the check-in and then sit down. Food is brought out, but waiters are not really assigned tables, so don’t expect a lot of personal service, which is good if you don’t like being bothered while eating/talking.

GREAT FOOD! We arrived with a group of 6 people. The food was ready pretty fast. We came right during lunch on a Wednesday. The food was made to order and was in a nice large bowl. I got the steak/chicken bowl. Came with a few veggies and some rice for 9$. Ask for chopsticks if you want. The sushi rolls are pretty large and from what others said it was on point. If you need a side of Ginger they can bring it for no charge. Definitely a place to visit again.

Been to Teri cafe twice first time was pleasant. Went during lunch on a Wednesday so I knew service was gonna be slow. Food was great. Second time getting food from here wasn’t so great. The wife and I order take out from here on the weekend. The person over the phone was nice and patient with my wife. The only problem is service is non existent, no one passes to see if you need more water, never get the chopsticks I order either. The other items on their menu are equally amazing and youll definitely leave feeling satisfied.That being said, it is a self seating establishment. Be aware that large groups will have a tough time sitting together. Furthermore, the seating area is somewhat condensed and awkwardly shaped. Love the food, not the staff. I have gone 3 different times and have never been offered a refill in my drink water, soda, coffee, or tea. I have had to get up and get it myself for my party ( on other dinners in the restaurant). Ordered the seaweed salad & it was just sesame seed oil & no sweetness to it at all or any other flavor like I’ve had in seaweed salad at many, many other restaurants. Paying 13 for just blah is crazy. If this is any inclination to what the other food might taste like then idk why they have as many stars as they do. Or maybe I just caught you guys on a bad night? Whatever it is, I did not like it & won’t be back.
