I was hungry and driving around looking for food. I was open to trying out a new place. This place exceeded my expectations, great servings, great price, and great flavorful food.Husband had the Ramen which he loved.I had the Teriyaki Chicken & Cali Roll plate. Started with the Miso, which was as good as it gets. Then came the Cali roll, it’s a simple roll and was executed correctly. Then came a generous portion of Chicken, Rice, and Potato Salad. Loved the chicken and rice. Salad was good. Potato doesn’t make sense for me but it was good. Lastly, I appreciated the small details they added to enhance their plate presentation like adding a pineapple & leaf. I would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

The Service was amazing. Cashier checked up on us multiple times. Really good quality. A hidden gem in National City. They have real ginger. They dont use that color dyed pink ginger it the real stuff. Presentation on the food was spot on. Keep it up cooks! The flavor was spot on! New Customer now turning into a regular!

I would consider this establishment a diamond in the rough so to speak. The food was very delicious. Beef bowl, excellent. The ramen, excellent. The California roll, excellent. The mochi ice cream, excellent. The menu is plentiful and they have excellent specials such as dinner specials and happy hour. Clean and nicely decorated interior. Lots of seating and plenty of parking space. Friendly customer service as well.

This is a great restaurant to have in the neighborhood. I love having teriyaki so close to the house, and their sushi is very good though a bit expensive. I can only give it one star though because there is no bike parking anywhere in the entire mall.

This location has seen high turn-over during the years Ive lived in the area. When I saw this new ownership change again, I wasnt sure what to expect, but my Dad showed me all the positive reviews across social media and I was curious to try it out. Finally went, and I was pleasantly surprised. The spicy tonkatsu ramen bowl was really good! The spicy tempura roll was also really good! Would definitely come back.

The tonkotsu ramen is amazing. Got the special where you add crab rolls or goyusa (sp?). Also got the miso ramen bowl, the dragon roll and the national city roll. All very good!! Only thing was we took it home and didnt know which broth went with which pork belly set up. Still.. Awesome! Well be back for sure!

Good food, decent prices. had ramen, gyoza, tempura veggies and a roll. the roll was heavy on mayo but not bad, ill have to try more to see if it was a one time thing. pork in the ramen is great. Ive tried 3 types so far, all good. tempura was nice and crisp and the gyoza was good.

Google recommend that I try out Teriyaki Sun as a new restaurant near me, and I decided to try it tonight. It wasnt very difficult to get here and parking wasnt bad at 6pm. The dining area is fairly plain and simple, but very clean. The decor is Island inspired, with an island / Asian fusion menu. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, with fried rice and a coke. It came with a salad that is tasty, and crisp, with a creamy ginger dressing. The potato salad was not what I was expecting, but I am very happy with what was served. The potatoes seem to be hand mashed with circular sliced carrots and macaroni. It was very mildly seasoned, which brought out more potato taste, which I think is a bit unique for an island inspired side, kudos for that. The chicken has a mild marinade if any at all, but is grilled perfectly. It is boneless thigh meat. It is served with a side of teriyaki sauce that is tasty. The fried rice is good with egg, corn, carrots, onion, and green pepper. All in all, the food is not over seasoned, which is a huge plus for me. The portions are more than adequate for all but the heaviest of eaters. Google referred me to Teriyaki Sun, and I am glad they did. I wish it was closer to my home so I could go more often. I certainly suggest giving it a try for when looking for good food but nothing fancy. As always, I rate stars as follows: 1- not good all around, 2- some good good value, but pretty common and nothing stood out, 3- a solid choice all around, 4- one of my favorites, 5- a great experience all around and very unique for the area.

The review mostly reflects on the service. The food would get a 4.5. Ive had the food for takeout and it was delicious so I wanted to try out dining in. They appeared to be super short staffed (one person as cashier). The food was good but service was non-existent. Had to ask utensils and napkins after we received the appetizer. Then had to ask for condiments when the rest of the meal showed up. Also had to ask for bowls and soy sauce dish. Im not sure if it was due to the lack of staff (though we were the only table dining in) or if its not that type of establishment. Overall the food was good but I somewhat regret leaving a tip on service that did not exist (you pay at counter when ordering). Ill probably stick to take out if I return.

Went here a couple days ago. I definitely wanted to check out a new Ramen spot. Staff was friendly. I went ahead and got the 4th Ramen on the menu and my friend got the California roll (was handed the wrong roll) The Ramen was good however if you’re really trying to get a bang for your buck definitely don’t get sushi here. Not to mention the 40 minute wait for 2 things… I had to ask 3x when my food would be ready… no communication on her part. Overall the food was all right. However the delivery could’ve been a lot better. 3/5 👍🏼

Decent ramen place. Got the miso ramen on a couple of occasions and was happy with it. The place is really large but every time there were only a few other customers there. My friend got the seafood ramen and was happy with it. Vegetable tempura was overbreaded and undercooked. Wouldnt get it again.Lunch special I got on a separate day was very underwhelming. Im used to bento lunch boxes coming with a great deal more than just the chicken, rice, and 4 Cali rolls. Especially considering you can go to Sushi & Galbi less than a couple miles away and get twice the stuff (+soup, tempura, and salad) at a lower cost. Definitely would not get their lunch special again but would still hit them up for ramen.Service has always been friendly here. Zero complaints. You pay up front before you eat so its a little weird because if you pay with a card you tip BEFORE the service but even so Ive never had cause for raising a concern.Food comes out hot and the place is clean. Just watch out for that front door because it is a couple pulls away from falling off its hinges.

This place is a neighborhood spot for Ramen. The ramen here is flavorful and in my opinion, delicious. Me and my family go regularly. Right now they seem to be going through a small renovation, so there are some changes as far as seating, etc. They serve sushi, bowls and various Japanese plates and tempura. When I dont feel like driving to north park, this is my spot.

The one plate of food is much more than I could ever eat in one sitting but Im not a big eater. I shared what I ordered with my friend. If you have a plate to yourself? You may end up with leftovers. The salmon hand roll and tonkatsu ramen were fine. The staff were friendly. A solid 3. Unfortunately the area and some guests ruined it for me. First there was a manly and fidgety woman in front of the restaurant; I waited a minute or two until she left. When I walked in there were a bunch of bags next to the entrance. I thought maybe there was some light construction or a homeless person owned it. I later find out it belonged to a woman that asked the staff for ride home. Who does that?!?! So maybe she was worried about the safety of her son, thats understandable. So how did she get there? I felt bad for their situation but she was laughing/joking too much, to truly be concerned. Then as I was eating, she burps and laughs some more. Pretty gross. An angry looking man comes in stands next to the counter perpendicular to the menu on the wall. Most normal people would stand directly in front and read the menu. Anyway, sorry for the rant. The food is fine.

Would not expect this restraunt to serve amazing food. Definitely hole in a wall not what you expect asain place. Yet, the employees were very friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. We had the ramen and chicken taiyaki, both were delicious. The ramens broth was smooth and not heavy on the sodium. The chicken taiyaki came with 4 other sides so it is filling. The place is very clean and tidy. The cashier was very friendly from the moment we walked in until the time we left. The menu is varied, simple and they have good prices. The taste of the food is delicious. The dish very well served. We will definitely go again to try more dishes. Of course I recommend it 100%. Besides, there is a lot of parking because it is in a shopping center.

Compa Luis went crazy with this Ramen he bought. Best ramen Ive ever tried. Its at a hundred. I recommend it. BEST RAMEN in National city no cap. Really good customer service too. Big shout out to Liliana for helping me out! Will definitely be back.
