Im a longtime customer from almost the beginning and up until today, paid cash. I would often leave a tip. Well, tonight, I didnt have enough cash with me so I used my debit card and found out later (after I had to ask for my receipt) that a generous gratuity had been added in without my knowledge. I dont think tipping for counter service is required but should be voluntary. I may or may not come back but if I do, Im paying cash.

First time ordering with new owners and very disappointed. Prices went up about 30-40% on most items, while the portion sizes decreased by about half. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone, neither will I ever come back. I ordered a chicken noodle “bowl” which normally was served in a bowl. And now served in a tiny rectangle container. Portion size is about 50% less then what it was before. Also $13 for this? What a shame and rip off!!!

Got the craving for something different. This hit the spot. Had sushi and teriyaki chicken bowl. Both delicious. One of the ladies working counter, who was very busy took the time to give us some sushi guidance. Great overall experience.

Who eats here? It was disgusting and went straight into the bin!To be fair, The wonton were decent. I got that and the teriyaki bowl. I had a couple of wonton on the ride home and they were pretty good, though they are made with imitation crab, not real crab, which they failed to mention. That seems dishonest.But the teriyaki bowl - inedible. When I opened the sauce container it was thin and lighter in color than good teriyaki sauce so I smelled it before adding it to the chicken and rice. Nope! I took a bite of the chicken without the sauce but with some rice that had a little on it from the chicken, and I was barely able to get it down. There was no sweetness at all, and was more like straight soy sauce. Even my cat walked away when she tried to sneak a piece of chicken.

Unfortunately the food I received ended up being pretty bland, with little to no actual flavor on the chicken or in the sauce that had been added to the meal.Parts of the chicken were pretty charred and it was very dry. My rice was also a bit soggy, that might have been from the sauce that was added, but even the bits without the sauce seemed a tad mushy and were more of a rice patty at the bottom.The salad was fine enough and the added orange and big slice of tomato was appreciated.The portion size was generous, with me ending up with leftover food for later, but again it was just sadly unseasoned and tasted more like just dry chicken.I dont think that I will end up trying this location again.

I was a long time customer who loved this restaurant a lot…until new owners took in charge. Most sad part is that they have changed their signature teriyaki sauce to flavorless sauce. I think chiken and tofu quality has changed also. Nothing same as before…hope they will bring back what they served used to be.

This is THE WORST teriyaki I’ve EVER had. 🤢 They don’t season their meat. It was so bland. Even their sauce had no flavor. The meat wasn’t even cooked all the way! 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Way overpriced for bad food!

Been going here since I was a kid when it was run by a husband and wife. My husband and I hadnt gone in a long time. It made me very glad to see it still open.The menu has always been good. Its even expanded for other dishes like sushi.Staff was friendly and the food got ready fast for us to take home.When we got home, I actually ate all of my teriyaki beef rice bowl. I normally try to only eat half but it was as good as I remembered that I just couldnt!

Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviews that are posted here. I am a long time customer of teriyaki to go. The change of ownership has changed some of the things that made this place such a gem.The prices have increased, and the portions have gone down. The sauce… what happened???? It’s gross and watered way way down. I wouldn’t even mind their increase in price if the quality was the same as before…Hopefully they listen to these reviews. They have the same staff as before so the noodles and meat are cooked perfectly, but their changes in sauce, portion, and packaging are awful. Unfortunately I can’t see this place surviving very long unless they reverse course on these.You received an established business, with many many happy customers, why would you even consider changing so many things?Guess I’m gonna get panda tonight, ugh. So sad.

This is the first review I have ever done. But I feel the need to. I have been a customer here for 20+ years. The food was always great. The couple didnt speak alot, and where they lacked in communication. They made up for in flavor and consistency. While still remaining affordable. They never skimped on your food or took shortcuts of any kind. They took pride in what they served.Tonight was my first experience with the new owners. I do understand that things change with new owners. But the changes made were not in their favor. Everything tasted.. well.. there was no taste. There is no hint of teriyaki in the sauce. It tastes like they are trying to flavor water. The chicken has no flavor. Cant even tell its chicken. It leaves a film in your mouth that is not pleasant. MSG maybe. The whole family was disappointed. None of us will be returning to this establishment. What tipped it over the edge...I was not aware you gave yourself a $9.00 gratuity tip until I received the receipt. Nope.. not going back. Nope.. nope.. nope.

What has changed! Ordered 2 tofu bento boxes to go. It was already bagged up when I arrived 15 min later so not able to see the tofu wasnt nicely grilled as in past visits, and no offer of sesame sprinkles or warm terriyaki sauce poured on top. They did provide extra sauce, but had to cook/grill tofu at home as it was barely done and hardly any veggies. Price has gone way up too. Disappointed in quality.

Not a fan of the changes new ownership has made. Cutting quantity and quality at every corner:- Smaller bowls. Now 15 oz, down from 24 oz. Same size as a panda bowl from Panda Express. Way less rice and meat. The new black plastic bowls also do not retain heat as well as the old styrofoam ones so now when you pop it open it’s just regular warm instead of piping hot.- Way less sauce. They limit you at 2-2.5 scoops. Used to get 4-5 every time with the old couple no problem. Sauce is also now served on the side, in a cup that’s about 1-1.5 scoops tops. They no longer ask how many scoops you want. All good though, because…- Sauce has been watered down significantly. So you’re not going to want more than 2 scoops anyway lol.- Default tip is now set to 15% on the new payment system, which is pretty aggressive considering the above changes. Old owners didn’t even have a tip prompt lol. I’d happily tip if none of the above changes were made.- Grillmaster is still the same lady so at least the bbq quality is still the same 👍🏻All in all, I get it, the prices of ingredients and goods have skyrocketed everywhere, but the old owners had already increased their prices multiple times over the past two years. And downsized from 32 oz bowls to 24 oz. Always had customers. I highly doubt they were doing that poorly. These changes just seem like the new owners attempt to squeeze every ounce of profit out of the place, rather than a survival move. Unfortunately it is at the expense of maintaining repeat customers. Im so sad that the owners sold this place. Its not the same. The quality of the food has gone down. The way they run the restaurant and how they plate food has changed. The sauce taste wrong. They dont ask you for scoops anymore. They just give you a side of thin awful tasting sauce. I wish I had a chance to say goodbye to the previous owners. Ive been going here since I was 12 and past on the tradition to my husband and daughter. I regret today will be my last day coming here because its not the same.

They have the worst teriyaki sauce, dry chicken and overpriced for the amount of food you get. The teriyaki sauce was sour, vinegar tasting, not sweet and thick like its supposed to be. The chicken breast was the driest chicken Ive ever had in my life with burnt edges. The restaurant is outdated, dirty and sticky. Yuck.

To start off, in the nearly three decades this establishment has been open, the owners and operators have NEVER been friendly or sociable. At that their communication has always been a struggle, which seems to have only worsened with time. I have to repeat items, quantities and preferences many, many times before an order can be completed. They are also argumentative about additions, which are listed and priced on the menu, especially if you want more of an existing ingredient in a dish, as in ADDITIONAL portions of that ingredient.With that said, the SOLE thing that kept me putting up with everything was the food quality, which has now gravely declined. Items are either over cooked or are questionably under cooked, and there seems to be a decline in the quality of used ingredients, which makes the increasing prices all the more insulting. If the one thing keeping me coming back isnt good anymore, what is the point?

Eww. I was craving a good teriyaki bowl today (and paid a little extra to doordash it while I worked) BUT this was definitely not it!! The chicken was bland & charred. The rice was soggy. Luckily the new owners seem to be listening to its loyal customers and have made effort in keeping its reputation. Prices have increased some, but it’s due to inflation. The reviews are accurate.. food was extremely bland and had no flavor, rice was mushy as if it was cooked with to much water or maybe not rinsed before cooking, salad was bland and the teriyaki sauce did not taste right. New owners should really listen to the cliental they USED to have......I predict an empty building here in the future . For 30 years this place HAD delicious food but they CHANGED that and now the food is TERRIBLE. I would rather eat teriyaki at Jack in The box.New owners have taken over and they changed the teriyaki sauce and I will not be going back after being a patron since 1995. I have seen other customers say the same thing it just lacks the flavor that was a staple of the establishment since they opened. Been going here for years, food was always really good, but wont be back. The noodle bowl had very little noodle, as it consisted of mostly cabbage & sprouts, and the sauce used lacked flavor because it was so watered down. Also purchased the sesame chicken bento box. Chicken was fine, but again, the Teriyaki sauce was very watered down & was tasteless. Was like dipping my chicken in light brown water.

If I could give a zero I would. The lady at the register was SO rude when I asked her if my food was ready because I called ahead of time to make sure my food would be ready when I got there because I was Ubering to pick it up. Not only was she rude to me but the food was NOT ready and I watched as she proceeded to harass and yell at the cook in front of me and another customer. Somehow my shrimp noodles and drink went from a 12 $ meal to a 19$ meal. Needless toSay, I don’t recommend.

Pretty terrible first experience. Ordered online, prepaid. That took two attempts for some reason, was mildly concerned Id paid twice.Went to pick it up when it would be ready. Waited 10 minutes to be helped. Without wanting to, I had to argue with people who barely speak English to convince them to actually make said meal.Then it was rushed, and they even forgot the drink. Food was tasty, but ultimately unsatisfying since it was the wrong order with nothing to wash it down with.If youre going to accept online orders, and take peoples money then you should strive to make it right. I should have gotten something extra for the 20 minutes my family and I waited, and for all the relative work I had to put in. Instead, I overpaid for something I didnt want.Sucked too, because I really wanted to like the place. Atomsphere was great and all the other guests seemed pleased. Im usually very easy to please too, but these guys really messed up.

Beware! This place crossed contamination of all their food. We sat there and watch them and politely shared with the owner our concern of their cross contamination when cooking food. They did nothing but argue with us and trying to tell us we were wrong. They do not deserve any business. If you end up going there... watch them cook your food. Youll see first hand. Horrible food! Does not taste authentic at all! I ordered the simplest item on the menu which is teriyaki chicken over rice and I was disappointed big time! The sauce had no flavor whatsoever, the chicken was weird looking and didnt taste like chicken which is scary. The rice had a funny strong smell to it which was a deal breaker! If you are looking for great teriyaki food i suggest go elsewhere. I definitely will not be returning.

I enjoy the sesame chicken Bento box. The chicken is deep fried with a sesame coating. Tender. It comes with a good sticky rice, and green salad with a soy dressing. They provide a teriyaki sauce that is not too sweet or thick. A lot of people come in for take out.

Prices are high for what you get and no service with a smile here. A teriyaki bowl is some white rice with some meat on top; no veggies. You want some broccoli? Thatll be 70 cents more. Brown rice? Another 70 cents. The bento box is similar (but in a box with a side of flavorless lettuce covered in a bland Asian dressing). Sadly, Jack in the box makes a better teriyaki bowl than this place and for less money.
