Seems like a favorite amongst the locals. Complimentary table bread was soft but otherwise flavorless. Highly recommend to skip it. Trust me.The salmon with penne were small bite size pieces of very soft salmon and al dente penne and a creamy tart marinara sauce. (4/5*). Spaghetti tutto mare had lots of clams, shrimp, squid, mussels and small chunks of a white fish in a tart marinara sauce (4.5/5*). Calamari fritti was lightly fried and seasoned but a bit rubbery and a smaller portion than expected (2/5*). Wouldnt order again. Service was ok. For some reason it was also very hot inside.PS. Corkage is $12 for Livermore wines but $20 outside of the area.

Waitress made a rude comment when I asked about if they could add pineapple on pizza stating ‘this is a fine dining establishment, we don’t do that here’. Water took ages to get refilled. Overall atmosphere wasn’t great. Extra star only because the pizza was good but my partners meal (lasagna) had no meat and was insanely overcooked. However they did take it off the bill.

Excellent food with nice ambiance. The wait was long on a Saturday night, but was worth the wait. Find a hightop near the bar and enjoy some drinks to make the wait fly by. The Pollo Parmigiano was delicious. We were so hungry... forgot to snap a pic.2nd visit during the week... food and service worth it. Thanks guys.

We had our 50th high school reunion and the food was amazing. We had chicken with ham and a touch of cheese on it. Im sure theres a fancy name for it. Cant remember it and salmon that was to die for very very good and the family style dining was really good for a large group of people like we were probably 50 or more

Search place has a very nice outdoor patio right in front of the main entryway. The food, service and outdoor ambiance all contribute to a very nice experience. And it doesnt hurt that the prices are reasonable. All in all this is an excellent value and a great experience for dining during the covert 19 restrictions.

Food was a solid 4, would say really 4.4. Their homemade pasta was good, just not quite to five stars. The server was kind and respectful. Atmosphere was a little bit loud for myself but still good. I prefer a quieter restaurant, but at 7PM what can you expect.

9-2021Absolutely get the gorganzola gnocchi no matter what else you get. We ordered a plate to share as an appetizer. The wife also enjoyed her salmon dish. My chicken parmesean was ok but a little tough and not especially flavorful.Everything about this place is fantastic. The food was great the service was phenomenal and the decor is pleasant and warm and comfortable. I am actually surprised I have never been here before.

Excellent food and service. The restaurant is decorated very well. There is an outdoor patio for outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. There is also a private room for larger events. They start off with a bread basket. There is balsamic vinegar and olive oil on the table to self-serve. The balsamic vinegar is very tasty. Their calamari was woofed down by everyone in 2 seconds flat. The lasagna is really done well.. not too acidic. The fettuccine with Bolognese was excellent. The portion of the tortellini with ham and tomato cream sauce was too small. The pizza was yummy. However, I have had better elsewhere. Our water was constantly filled. Our used dishes were seldom left long at the table. The servers exchanged our dirty dishes for new dishes numerous times. We would definitely come back again for the delicious food and service.

This review is a 5+++ star review for our server David G.This is our second year that we have had our company holiday dinner at Terra Mia. Each time we have had the Barolo room. It holds up to 50 people and is a private room behind the dining room.When booking your event, I have worked with Francesco both years and he is very easy to work with. He communicates well and helps with any questions that you may have. They have different packages that you can choose from. We have the dinner sit down dinner menu. They also offer a buffet. This comes with different pizzas for appetizers, salad and bread, your entree and then dessert. You will have 3 different entrees to offer your guests and if you have any allergies or special needs they will accommodate you.In our party, we have 2 plant based eaters (me included) and they did not disappoint. They gave us a pasta primavera in a vegan pesto sauce. I would highly recommend adding this to your regular menu as it was delicious and there are a lot more plant based / vegans who appreciate having a dish for them on the menu instead of having to ask for something special. Definitely a keeper!The other entrees (Salmon, Pollo Saltimbocca and Cannelloni) were all big hits. If asked how to make improvements, the comments I heard were that the black rice with the salmon was not liked by many (hard and crunchy) and the polenta that came with the Pollo had a strange texture. As I did not eat these I can not add any comments.The biggest star is of course the Tiramisu. I have nothing to say except that I hope licking a plate in public is acceptable because that is how good this dessert is.Now back to David. Wow, just wow! What a gentleman. Polite, professional, attentive, awesome memory and even a great sense of humor! David was one of the most positive experiences I have ever had. I can not thank you enough for taking such good care of us.If you are considering having a party here do not hesitate, you will have a great experience.

Just had a wonderful Saturday Luncheon meal in the small banquet room they have towards the back of the restaurant. We had 21 people in attendance, not at all crowded with 2 long tables. Food excellent-- Chicken with Prosciutto and cheese, and Cannelloni, mixed veggies and Polenta. Super yummy! The cooking staff is excellent. Service was very classy, efficient; experienced and well-trained fine dining wait staff. Beautiful ambiance with the fireplace in the sequestered banquet space. Clean, well-stocked restrooms.

Excellent spot for a birthday celebration! Half portions available for most pasta dishes - perfect for my younger ones and my older kids had full portions. Dishes were well made and we enjoyed the meal. Definitely will be back.

Delicious! Recommend the gnocchi gorgonzola ... I had no idea gnocchi could be so soft! You can taste the potato in them too, and the gorgonzola sauce is just amazing. The garlic bread is delicious too, and they have a very nice ginger beer for non-alcoholic lovers. Will need to come back to try something new!!Tried the tortellini ala crema - delicious!! Its not often I find somewhere that does meat-filled pasta, and this does not disappoint. The sauce is wonderfully flavorful too! Also recommend the prosciutto and melon - very tasty and refreshing! Excellent as an appetizer, would definitely get again.

HORRIBLE SERVICEI’ve been in this business for almost 40 years and have managed Michelin restaurants for the last 10 years and have worked with James Beard chefs for the last 7+ years. I have never been told to get out of a restaurant before tonight. I pointed that my “Caesar” salad was nothing more than oil and vinegar dressing with croutons after letting it sit on the table for 10++ minutes with no “check back” and when my papardelle dish was sub-par I was told to “Get out! We don’t want you!” Soooooo. Be well prepared to just accept whatever they wanna throw at you and you’d better be happy with it. THIS PLACE IS GARBAGE

This restaurant is located in a strip mall that needs a lot of improvement. Inside, it has the feel of upscale with two young hostesses dressed appropriately welcoming you by the entrance and servers with the standard white shirt covered with black aprons. House made pasta served with an Italian accent - what could be more authentic!? The open kitchen finishes the right touch but for sure, they need to update the table and chairs. The place was full! Food is decent but what stood out is the gnocchi that was perfectly chewy with a delightful creamy sauce. My sister was treated with a birthday song in Italian while one of the servers toyed with a monkey puppet singing all over her and around her head. Overall, it was a beautiful, lovely evening of celebration with family and friends at Terra Mia.

We came here for a private party. Food was served family style. We had Caesar Salad, Pollo Saltimbocca, Cannelloni di Carne, seasonal vegetables, polenta, with chocolate covered cream puffs and coffee for dessert. All of it was very good. I ate more than I should have. Terra Mia is now on our restaurant list.Since this was a private party Im not sure what service is like on a regular day, but everything was delicious so we are likely to come here again to find out.

On my opinion, its the most authentic Italian restaurant in the tri valley. Pastas are fresh, good cream and ragu based sauces and their specials are typically excellent. Service is from good to great (David is personal and attentive). Truly a family run restaurant.

Food quality is great, atmosphere is great, but be warned to not come here on a weekend night -- their kitchen cannot keep up with their dining room. Lasagana and margherita pizza. Both were very good. Crust on the pizza especially good, but a little over-done in some spots. Lasagana was good, but the pasta to cheese ratio was a little short. It tasted tomatie to my girlfriend. I liked the meatiness of it, though it could be gussied up a bit. I think its traditional with good ingredients and fresh parm to top youre entre. Lovely staff, good service. For the price the food was just mediocre. I had a pizza and it was ok for fast food. $8 for garlic bread? $40 for the lamb chop dinner that wasn’t cooked as requested? Come on now. The room was like an echo chamber with the tile floor. I’d come back on somebody else’s dime otherwise never again. Not sorry for the review, angry that the food was so overpriced for what we got.

No bread on our table but others had it.Had to buy 2 small pieces of garlic bread for $9.50 and it was horrible.The veal was overcooked and the vegetables were cold. $136 for three entrees, 2 sodas and 1 beer. Not worth the tip I left.

Went here for an early dinner and birthday celebration. Split a Caesar salad with my wife that did not taste like a Caesar. No taste of anchovy or anything similar. We asked the waiter for more anchovies. He brought us four small straps on a plate at the cost of $4. The entre of pasta was undercooked to somewhat crispy and chewy. Our waiter acted put out to even acknowledge our presence. Poor service,tasteless and under cooked pasta definitely not worth wasting your money.

Terra Mia has a nice ambiance including a cozy fireplace. It can be very noisy with its high industrial ceiling when they are busy. We came in early as we had someplace to go later. Service was ok but food underwhelmed. My pasta and seafood was not bad but my wife’s Hawaiian Ono picatta wasn’t at all good. Very very dry and overly salty sauce which ran into the side dish of wild rice making it salty as well. She couldn’t eat most of the fish or the rice. We didn’t have the time to wait for another entree but the server didn’t make any comment about there being so much food left on the plate. The reviews say other entrees are good so perhaps we will try again but not sure.

This is a review for two experiences. One visit was dining in and the security and was for take-out.Dining in we went to the restaurant in a group of 5. Our server was excellent and answered many menu related questions from our group. The food was delicious, fresh, and just the right serving size. We shared two different salads and each ordered a pasta entree. Everyone was pleased with the food. They also had a good tap list to choose from with some unique offerings.The take-out experience was during the countys shelter in place. The pizza we had was perfect to share for 2-3 people. I tried the veggie pizza and look forward to trying some of their other toppings soon.

Great food but noise level is just too high there. Acoustics are terrible. Fellow diners were not exceptionally loud but the terrible acoustics made it seem as if they were. Food however was very tasty, large portions, very good service. Even without a reservation we were seated immediately. If noise isnt an issue then I highly recommend.

Food was ok and service was good. In my opinion the soup which I ordered was too plain, the pasta we ordered had few olives and tomatoes only with olive oil. It was little plain and thank God for the olives and tomatoes. I found the chicken having a strong smell of chicken but ignored it. We definitely enjoyed the warm bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar we were served.We had a little celebration as our younger one passed her 2 years of medical school and getting prepared for her rotation. I don’t know how this place has above 4 stars. The ambience was good and the service was ok, but the food was absolutely not worth the money I paid for. Pasta dish with ham and eggplant just tasted like bland thick pasta noodle in tomato sauce. Barely any eggplant or ham in it. Pesto with vegetables was...literally ugly chopped carrots and zucchini with fettuccine - I could’ve made that for less than $5. Total disappointment. Would never go back.

You can always expect to get an amazing meal at Terra Mia. The food selection is very nice and the service is usually very good. On one or two occasions, the food took extremely long to arrive, but it is a rare case for that to happen. I dont drink wine, but I see lots of people bringing their favorite bottle with them. Im not sure if that means their wine selection is not so good or highly marked up, but it is nice that they offer the flexibility.

The service was exceptional! And considering it is such a nice and authentic Italian restaurant, it is very well priced, with most entrees being in the teens. Ive only gone the one time and there were 5 of us in our party and we each got different entrees and we were all very pleased. The ambiance of this restaurant is also quite nice. It would be a great place to go on a date too as its quite romantic feeling as well.

Ordered an expensive veal dish to go as we were too exhausted to eat there. The meal was ready on time and the meat and veggies were perfect. The potatoes were wet, mushy and really tasted like reheats from the day before. They actually had a refrigerator taste. I called and brought them back on principle given the cost of the meal. The owner agreed they were awful and he said he would send me home with a box of properly prepared ones in 5 to 10 minutes at the longest. 45 minutes I was still waiting. Finally my husband, who was waiting in the car, came in, and we were given a box of potatoes that were somewhat better than the first. I could have made them from scratch in the time we waited. The owner does not have any principles. Period.

We had a group of around 25 in a very nice private buffet room for up to 50 people. The room was quiet with the doors closed and was right next to the bar. Some folks arrived late, after we had moved on to other courses but the staff brought out more of the food for them. The servers Paco and Giaccomo, and the busser Maggie, were all fantastic. Jiovanie the bartender makes a great Manhattan and I understand does good with the other drinks also. The food was absolutely fantastic. The person who organized it for us this year also mentioned that they were much easier to arrange it with than places we have had previous events. This is where we will go again next year.

This hidden gem used to be the diamond in the rough. But after recent changes, it no longer shines bright. The food is still good, but the smaller menu, MUCH smaller portions and escalating prices, I find it harder to enjoy what was once our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. I feel like this place is one of the better places to go to for Italian food in Livermore. Their food is always good here and they make their own pasta here too! You can literally taste the difference! Everything else is also very fresh on the menu and I love their garden salad. Its super crisp and I love the beet on the top of the salad. The service is also very good and they are very attentive but also let you take your time. They never try to rush you when you are here and make you feel like you can stay as long as you want which is great. Definitely make this your place to go if you are in the area. They also carry a bunch local wines such as Wente and Concannon which is nice also!

The bolognese, the pizza, and the prima vera were good. What brings my rating to five stars was the impeccable service. The service perfectly walked that fine line between attentive and intrusive. The youngest in our party was being a bit petulant and was the recipient of a little extra attention and it was just right. We will be returning soon.

Oh, what changed??I have been disappointed the last three times that I have eaten there.I ordered veal piccata but chicken piccata arrived at my table. My waiter, David, was wonderful. He insisted on sending it back. Then came something that was much like a tasteless piece of leather and very tough. It was served next to polenta which was cold, absolutely tasteless, and with a muddy consistency. The broccoli and veggies were mush. I was thankful to have bread with olive oil and balsamic because that was my dinner.

Sadly, this place has decent reviews, but my wife and I had a horrible experience with the food. Started off with being told to sit anywhere we wanted on the patio, so we did. Two tables who were sat after us we greeted and given menus and a waiter, but 10 minutes later...we still hadnt been acknowledged so I went and told the host. 5 min after that, we were greeted. I asked the waiters recommendation on a bottle of Rose...he recommended the most expensive, but had no tasting notes to go with his rec. I asked if they had Linguini and clams. The waiter told me no....this is not italian authentic, so we dont have that. What a lie. My wife ordered the fetcuini al salmon and I ordered a pesto pasta with salmon on top. We also ordered a calamari fritti to start. Calamari came out and was soft and chewy.....no crisp at all. I sent it back telling them why. They brought it back 5 min later and they had dumped the calamari back in the oil and killed it. Now it was crispy, chewy grossness. We set it aside, not eating it. Then the pastas came.... Both were horrible. My wife pasta was under al dente, and mine was overcooked....but they were the same noodle. The Salmon was diced into small pieces and incorporated into the dish rather than a nice fillet on top. Salmon was horrible....overcooked beyond done! It tasted and smelled horrible.After telling the waiter, the manager came over and i very very kindly explained how bad our meal was, pointing out exactly why wit the salmon and the calamari. Then our bill came. They removed my entree, but still charged me for my wifes horrible entree and the sad calamari. The only thing worth paying for was the wine. So in the end, I paid out $90.00 ($40.00 for the wine & $15.00 tip) and left hungry and annoyed. Stopped at in-n-out on the way home, which was 100 times better that Terra Mia. If you like real Italian food, stay far away from this place...NEVER AGAIN!!

We held our wedding reception at Terra Mia and are really glad we did! From early on, the co-owners were extremely helpful and accommodating, particularly Daniele. On the day of, we were swamped with wedding related activities, and the owners and wait staff made sure things ran smoothly with table arrangements, decorations, etc while we were absent. During service, wait staff were fantastically smooth and efficient, never in the way, but always available if we needed anything. The manager was able to quickly put together an alternative meal when it turned out one guest couldnt eat something (gorgonzola in the gnocchi). And the food was top-to-bottom great. We had the banquet options of caprese, garlic bread, osobucco, gnocchi, finished with tiramisu. All were delicious and and we heard only compliments from the guests (3/4 of whom were asian and wouldnt mind telling us if anything was wrong!). Wine and cocktail selection was excellent as well. All-in-all, Terra Mia, its owners, and its staff made our wedding reception as high quality as we could have asked, our guests happy, and us able to enjoy the evening with minimal stress. My only regret from the evening is that my brain was so fried with everything else that I think I forgot to tip as much as I wanted. Ill make it up though, next time Im in the area as Im sure well be coming back!

Making a reservation apparently does not mean anything to this restaurant, Other customers with no reservation who got there after my date and I, got seated before us. Maybe its because Im in my early 20s and Im not a priority in their eyes... who knows. Once I was seated I felt unwelcome by the waiter, every time we spoke he gave me a sarcastic sympathetic tone of voice. Worst part was when I wanted to order a beverage with alcohol, the waiter gave me such an sarcastic apologetic tone thinking that i was not of age and Instead he suggested I get a soda... Like seriously ? Once my date and I got our drinks and dinner, it was just disappointing and lacking flavor. when it was time to pay the waiter gave me a look as if I could not afford to be there. It was just such a unpleasant experience, and felt extremely unwelcome. This is the only place I have ever written a review for. They were so accommodating and calm throughout the whole prep time. No matter what I asked, they quickly and confidently responded. Had a very similar experience to GHOS7v, I too am in my young 20s and I too felt like my date and I were looked down upon. When we first arrived we got absolutely no greeting for at least 5 mins, while they were busy Ive never been too a place were I never been greeted. While their food was lacking in favor, their gnocchi is great. I have given this place a try 2 or 3 times after that experience, due to the fact this is the most decent Italian food in our area. Our experiences after our first was no where near as bad, but we have learned to stick with the gnocchi and go when its not their busiest times, like on a Monday night.
