Just got back from a fantastic time with a girlfriend. The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The service was excellent and the staff so helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and luxurious with an amazing ocean view. The restaurants were clean and the food was delicious. Im dreaming about when i can go back again!!! I would highly recommend it to couples or families. You cant go wrong spending a nice vacation at this wonderful resort.
I had an amazing experience at the Terranea Resort and Spa. After a long day of travel I was greeted by Izzy at the Catalina Kitchen restaurant on the resorts property. I was so exhausted, but her smile, and joy to be there and serve others immediately changed my mood. She continued to bring a smile to not only my face, but many other customers who walked through the doors of Catalina kitchen. She was very personable, attentive and caring. She made sure we were comfortably seated outdoors, that the temperature was to our liking and when passing by, after being seated, made sure she stopped by and checked in that we had everything we needed. She clearly demonstrated the kind of experience one would expect from your fine resort. Could not recommend this resort more, and it all really goes back to Izzy and her kindness.
This place is a beautiful resort . So peaceful and calm. The villa I stayed in had a balcony with a tremendous view of the landscape and the ocean. There are many amenities and functions to do. Such as hiking,kayaking,theres acouple of spas and 3 amazing restaurants. Love this place cant wait to return. 🙌
We took the family which included our 2 grandsons 9 & 7. They had the greatest time on the water slide, at Kid’s Camp, when we went kayaking and the falconry. The food was great and the service was amazing. Always helpful, friendly and fun. Us adults had a great time also. The massages were relaxing and the cocktails tasty. We are definitely going back.
This property is amazing! From the gorgeous rooms, to the views, to the trails, amenities and the delicious meals. We have come a few times now and will be back. The staff greeted my son with a welcome gift of a stuffed whale and every where we went the staff went out of their way to welcome us. This is one of our favorite places to come as a family. Love this place!
What a beautiful place. Along side the ocean. Beautiful trails close by. The guided kayak tour was amazing. We saw 20 to 30 dolphins jumping and feeding not far from our vessel. We saw a seal. We got up up close and touched a sea anemone, sea star, and so much more. What an experience.
Terranea is such a gem! We were thoroughly impressed with the level of service and thoughtful hospitality throughout our stay. Immediately, the gingerbread pop-up in the lobby blew us away. Rebecca in the Lobby Bar provided excellent service, as did Abraham at Bashi and Alma from Housekeeping made sure we had extra of all of the toiletries we enjoyed. Perfect place to enjoy quality food, drinks and amenities while feeling connected to nature. Highly recommended for a staycation.
My boyfriend and I chose to spend the night here and our experience was wonderful all because of the concierge Gigi! Gigi booked our dinner reservations at Nelsons and gave us great recommendations in advance. Once we got to the hotel, our room’s view was not what we were expecting; however, Gigi immediately moved us to a gorgeous room overlooking the ocean and we had champagne waiting. Could not be happier with our stay. Thank you Gigi!
Stayed here for baby moon and couldn’t have asked for a better time away before baby is here! So relaxing and enjoyable with the most beautiful views and sounds of waves crashing. The food is incredible, the room is so comfy, and the staff is very accommodating and helpful in every way!
This a 5 star resort due to the location and views. I chose this spot because everything you need is there and if planned right you don’t have to leave to enjoy yourself. I try to stay professional and honest with my goal to inform others not to damage the business. There is no way to rate food. Food is 3 stars because of flavors, all food lacked seasoning and passion. After being a chef for years I was expecting chef quality foods. Room views are extraordinary and beds are so comfortable but I am one who expected more updated rooms. So I took one star for that. I would go back and hope that the resort continues strong.
We returned recently for my partners b-day weekend, because we had also gone back in January with our 12lbs dog and had the best time, with great service. Clearly theres been a change in management for the worse, and we will no longer return. The staff was overall fine at best, and there was no place even outside for us to bring our little service dog to eat at most of the dining options on the property - even OUTSIDE ON THE PATIOS!!! Lets be real, nobody wants to eat at Nelsons for 3 days straight... Even the lobby bar was asking every morning if my dog was a service dog? Are you serious? For a supposedly pet-friendly resort, we were prohibited from enjoying the vast majority of the resort accommodations. At these prices..the experience was VERY disappointing.
Rooms: We stayed at a Villa for a cousins 1 year celebration. The location had two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a private jacuzzi, shared back yard with view facing the ocean. JUST wonderful of wonderful. it is a five star hotel and my cousiin loves coming here. Totally opened my eyes to higher living for sure.Service: the front desk was top tier. Kind and helpful. Encouraging and attentive. Even when things are not on time they make it up pretty with no problem.Location: The hardest part is how far it is away from the main freeways. Theres pretty much two ways to get here and its not easy. Theres paid parking and free parking.This place reminds me for like a honey moon get away for sure.
Great resort with so many amenities. Activities every day, and music and comedians in the evening. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from. The resort is massive, and it didnt feel crowded at all while we were here. We tried all the pools, and the fitness center even had classes. We stayed 6 days and never left the resort. The service was excellent, and our room was cleaned twice a day. Definitely will be back.
Understand, we stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and not the main hotel building. we were attending a wedding and all three events for the wedding (arrival cocktails, wedding and post wedding brunch) were lovely and staff were outstanding.However, our villa stay was a bit of a nightmare and issues seemed to fall on deaf ears. Issues included non working AC in one room, broken door, rusty & leaking fridge, greasy stove and dusty rooms & bathroom. We ran out of hot water getting ready for our welcome cocktail party and arrived to it an hour late. But the worst was when we used the washing machine. The dryer above it fell off the wall while we were out and caused a gas leak. We could not get into the laundry room to get our clothes since the dryer fell against the door. Maintenance had to cut a hole in the wall to shut off the gas. We did smell something funky when we came back to the villa, but did not associate it with a gas leak, more like a dead animal smell. When security arrived to try to open the door, they did not think it was gas either. It was not until maintenance showed up did they figure out the issue and about the gas leak. But no one told us about leaking gas nor told us to perhaps move away from the building until they aired it out? Interesting enough, when we had gotten home, my brother asked why the back french doors were wide open. We had not used them, so we surmised after the fact that perhaps their was a gas build up to blow them open? who know.Since the gas was shut off we could not take showers. When we called to get help, their customer service folks could only say that their manager was unavailable and the other one was in a meeting. Ultimately they moved us because my 82 year old mother did not feel safe in a gas leaking room, regardless of them fixing it. But they did not do this until about an hour before we needed to get to the wedding. So we had to run to a new villa to get ready. The manager committed to having a golf cart ready for us to take us down to the wedding venue...well, no one ever showed. Nor did a manager ever contact us the following day to see if things were better.Trust me, there were other issues, but no need to pile on.
I absolutely love Terranea Resort! As an LA resident, my family and I frequently visit this serene haven for leisurely walks with our two dogs and indulgent brunches at the resorts charming restaurant. The breathtaking ocean view never ceases to amaze me, and I cant help but recommend it to all my friends. Even though Ive never stayed a night there, I would love to enjoy their beautiful area with my family to create the greatest memories.

Beautiful day for a spa day with friends. This isnt my first time at this spa and its certainly not my last! This time I had the scrub and I felt like a queen, Angel did a great job. I normally dont love the spa food but today I had the salmon salad and the salmon was delicious. Also the mojito cocktail was refreshing (i had one pre and post treatment :) Wish I could have stayed all night but had to get home to my family!
Yesterday, my husband and I had a wonderful experience visiting the spa at Terranea. Obtaining the day passes was really easy and communicating with Kevin Lee was a delight. He really took an interest that my husband and I were celebrating our three year anniversary and our new pregnancy. I appreciate his genuine character. Entering into the spa it was a very peaceful and had a delightful smell. I was immediately greeted by the front desk workers, (a man and a woman), both were very kind and professional. The amenities the facility offered was nothing short from supberb. The women’s lounge employees were very kind and competent. Anna took time out of her day to help me with a specific request while getting ready. Overall, we will return and I appreciate the lovely service and atmosphere the Spa at Terranea provided. Thank you all for making our day special.
Friendly staff. Great views and kids had a nice time at the pool. Unfortunately, they were under staffed. Called for room service and took 3 calls to get an answer and then told hour and 20 minute wait. Served cold coffee and asked for a warm cup and served entirely different drink. Half the beers on menu at adult pool were out of stock. No one called to get inventory refilled. Had to get up at dinner and ask for napkins and get up a separate time and ask for silverware. Could have been due to the holiday weekend. I wont say Id never go back but overall was dissapointed with the service.
Great place to spend a weekend. The rooms are good to have meetings or meet ups. They have different venues to look at. From restaurants to activities to the outdoors, it’s a great place to visit. Terrance’s is also a great place to host events such as conference, speaking events wedding etc. it has a great golf course for anyone that likes golfing.

A beautiful venue! We attended a concert, ASTRO Yachts near Nelsons. It was a breezy night. Wonderful ocean views at sunset. Would love to spend a weekend there. Great venue for an event.
Loved my stay here at Terranea. Great views and all the restaurants had excellent food with lots of veggie options. The golf course is in great shape, enjoyed getting to use the practice facility every morning. Cant wait to come back
Played a round of golf here with my son, was one of the best experiences of our latest trip to the LA Area. Country Club level course that was short but challenging, maintained to perfection. Service level was 5 star, rental clubs were brand new matched set of Titleist Woods and Irons. Unbelievable views (saw Catalina Island), and a birdie on the last hole, perfect place!
Sometimes you absolutely DO get what you pay for. Terranea is expensive! But what you get is worth the money, IMO. We got a casita, Building 31, Room 202. Truth be told, this one was no different than any other hotel room at the resort. One benefit over the hotel area is a dedicated parking spot in front of the room. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a separated shower and tub. The toilet was closed off from the rest of the bathroom which is nice. This particular room had a view of the ocean, but was set back from other rooms. We still had a beautiful ocean view, but were too far to hear the waves.We ordered room service for a couple meals. The surf and turf was okay. The tenderloin was excellent, but the shrimp were average. For lunch, the turkey BLTA was very good. Not a huge sandwich, but sufficient for a normal appetite. The way the toasted the bread, with butter, was crazy rich, but so tasty. The brownie was dense and VERY chocolatey. Excellent. The crème brûlée cheesecake was very good.We spent a day at the spa, each getting the standard relaxation massage. It was worth the price. I was def relaxed after the massage. We went early to spend the afternoon at the pool and using the spa facilities prior to our massage appointment. The spa is so very posh. I ordered a jalapeño margarita to drink by the pool. It was excellent. Not too spicy. Although I feel like there definitely could have been more liquor in it, especially for the price paid for the drink. Afterward, I sat in the steam room for a while then used the showers to clean up before leaving for dinner. The spa area is very clean and had all the necessities to make one feel comfortable, including an assortment of toiletries: toothbrushes/paste, combs, shaving items, etc.We did not eat at any of the restaurants at the resort. We wanted to, but there just weren’t any open reservations. So if you want to eat there, make reservations VERY early.The service was excellent. From the service at the spa, to room service, the employees are always prompt, attentive and courteous. You never wait long for being asked for anything but at the same time, you do not feel overwhelmed by it. The response was always succinct. The service is the main reason we keep coming back. You can get a room by the beach pretty much anywhere in SoCal, but you cannot beat Terranea’s service. Hands down the BEST!
Visit this place don’t stay here. Great location and spa. Everything else is meh at best and poor at worst.This is a $250-$300 hotel don’t pay anymore. It would feel like holiday inn if it weren’t for the views and spa.INSIST for self parking & they’d let you, Valet is awful, over worked and poorly managed, they left my car unlock one of the two nights, interestingly it was the second night. And saw an Aston Martin One77 get pinstriped while parking. EV chargers are broken.Your luggage would likely not get picked up or be sent to the wrong room because it’s managed by a bellend I presume.Your food would be late no matter where you order from is gonna be late and would feel like it’s been sitting under a hot lamp.The view is great when you are not in the hotel.Also when you are leaving they try every trick in the book to make you pay extra. You need to call for luggage pickup over a hour ahead, mine didn’t arrive at all even after 1:40 minute wait.If you valet check for damages since the manager there acts more like a guest and would not help even if you car is taking 40 mins plus to get pulled up. Why does this guys when work here? Stands around looking cheeky.This resort is very noisy I won’t go here unless you want to deal with Karen and Kens letting their kids scream their lungs out. You get to hear it in your room all day.More updates when I get the time.
Great place to gather with family for a holiday weekend. So much to do or do nothing. Many food venues to choose from. All the guests seemed happy to be there.
Amazing place with amazing service. We spent most of our time enjoying the beautiful scenic pools and everything from the service to the atmosphere was excellent. Max O’regan was truly a delight, he made sure we were taken care of and his infectious positivity reflected on all of the staff and guests. Bartenders Miguel and Dylan made excellent drinks and had such made our experience much more enjoyable. Overall amazing time spent at Terranea, we will definitely be back.
Excellent location and superb service in connection with a Company Offsite with overnight stay. The food was very tasty, bars very well managed and drinks were world Class. The rooms are nice with balcony facing the Pacific. They however shows some age. Bed was fantastic comfortable.
Could t afford to stay here, but attended a conference. Facility was fantastic, beautiful ocean views, and friendly attentive staff.Gave the rooms only three stars because I never saw a guest room, but I’m sure they would be above average.
I have found paradise and it’s called the Terranea Resort!The staff was just lovely, the rooms immaculate and comfy.The location was unbelievable!I will make this my home away from home from now on.
Three stars for location is harsh on my part. The property is stunning and extremely well maintained, and for an all-inclusive resort feel….it’s fantastic. But after five or six separate stays over the years, it feels isolating and remote. The rooms are aging, too. My remote control was missing and the replacement was glitchy. The shower door stuck and took a mighty tug to open. There’s wear and tear beyond what one would expect at this level of resort. But the views are truly breathtaking, which almost makes it worth it….but not quite.
AMAZING hotel and resort!This place deserves nothing less than a 5 starsThe customer service here is extraordinary and the rooms are so spacious its hard to believe theres a suite.We had a little balcony overlooking the garden along with a king bed and a huge bathroom with a tub + shower in it.But honestly who stays in a nice room when youve got the ultra groomed gardens and 3 pools (1 adult, 1 kid, & 1 14+) am I right?My only qualm was the weddings. If you need to grab your car from valet do so in advance bc with all the cars going in and out, its impossible to keep up.The valet guy Isaac went above and beyondWe stayed Thursday & Friday and tbh, it gets very busy on the weekends so if youre looking for a more relaxing stay, then the weekdays are better.

Terranea Resort is an amazing destination with beautiful beach views all around, suitable for both kids and adults. Keep in mind that parking is not free, and theres a resort fee, making it a bit on the pricier side. The rooms are not modern but still comfortable, and the beachfront location adds to its charm. Its a perfect place for a relaxing staycation surrounded by natures beauty.
This resort was beautiful and family friendly! The customer service all around was great. The manager A. Gurbanov made our stay wonderful! We stayed in the casitas which were very clean, spacious, and overall gorgeous. I enjoyed that there was games such as jenga and corn toss all throughout the lawns. The variety in the restaurants to chose from was lovely as we didn’t have to leave the resort during our stay to find great food. Overall we loved our stay and can’t wait to come back soon!
Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, is a total five-star gem! Seriously, this place blew my mind. The location is straight-up breathtaking, and the service? Top-notch, my friend. The rooms are pure luxury and comfort, and the resort has it all - golf course, spa, and pools with ocean views that will leave you speechless. And lets talk about the food! Mouthwatering options galore. Oh, and props to their commitment to the environment too. Terranea Resort is the ultimate getaway for an unforgettable and rejuvenating experience. While the rooms and the hotel itself are impressive, service can be best described as mediocre. The staff just doesn’t seem to be trained to provide service. One gets the constant feeling that one staff member is trying to pass the buck to another staff member. I tried to book a spa appointment for my partner 8 times! 8 different interactions with staff (calls, in person, with a manager, with the concierge) and was not able to book a straightforward spa appointment. Rarely am I eager to leave a hotel for which I’m paying good money, yet I was eager to leave Terranea. It was almost a humiliating experience.
I was just at Terranea for a work trip last week. Upon leaving I remembered I accidentally left my jewelry in the room and called guest services. They confirmed my room had not been cleaned yet but they will make a note for housekeeping to grab the jewelry so they can mail it to me.I never heard back so I called again that afternoon in which they said no jewelry was found. I can confirm it was in the room and therefore someone stole it after I had departed the resort.I have been calling the resort and sending emails — asking for Hugo Navarro or the resort manager to call me back and no one has. I’ve left countless voicemails as well. I have filed a police report and working on next steps.From a 5 star property it’s appalling that this is happening and the lack of communication from the resorts leadership.
We stayed here for the wedding and unfortunately our car parked with their valet had the rear windshield completely shattered. We’ve called the resort 5 times to help rectify the situation and each time they’ve promised to call us back but haven’t. Unfortunately it has cost us over 5 hours so far to deal with this and they only offered a $50 discount on parking…
It was our first time at this luxury resort and it wont be our last for sure. We were amazed by the beauty of the resort and its location. I give 5-stars to everything including accommodation options, amenities, food, service, and staff. Especially Jullia Bakhom who made our stay unforgettable! It is a perfect getaway resort destination for families or couples.
A somewhat disappointing return to Terranea. Staff was as pleasant and helpful as before but seriously lacking in numbers. When you spend for a high level Resort such as this you expect service to be impeccable and always ready..
We really enjoyed our stay, just didnt feel like a 5 star hotel ( not sure what they are rated but 4 seems appropriate)They were really accommodating and extremely friendly. It was very relaxing. Nice rooms for under 500.
On the water.... need I say more? Well Im gonna! Went to check in, got out my car, never talked to the valet but my wife did. We were in two cars. Went to my car and told the valet I need something out of my car. He said sure Mr. Adams, your car is right here. Even if he was ear hustling to get a name, I was impressed with the effort to have beyond expectation personalized service. That service carried through the whole stay.
A very nice beach resort. Many events and facilities can be enjoyed together with your family. Complementary weekend concerts are available on Friday and Saturday.
4.5 stars! Lovely getaway where you feel like you are on an island. Excellent customer service in every area. Samonie at the front desk issued me a complimentary upgrade with a view of the Vista pool and the ocean. The ocean view double bed room is big with the most spacious bathroom Ive seen at a resort. Went on Fathers Day weekend so the restaurants were quite busy but all the food and drinks were delicious. Ayu at the Vista pool was very friendly and helped me get some fab photos! Loved seeing bunnies all around and the carryout service of valet. I definitely will be back and I highly recommend!
Stay here for the Outlook Conference. There were rooms set aside for attendees. I requested an ocean view and told Reservations I would pay the difference. They really messed up my reservations by only booking for one night and no ocean view. When I tried to complain to front desk they said no rooms available and a manager would call me. The manager never called. They is not the first time I have stayed here. I know what a parcel ocean view room is. Also, this year the food was horrible. It was mix match of food that did not go together. The room had stains on the carpet too. The location and some of the staff are what makes this hotel. Reservations and the food get two stars.
Beautiful resort, service was great for lunch, and grounds were well kept. Pools are small considering. It is nice though to walk down to the beach from the resort. Still prefer Pelican Hills Resort in OC with more grandeur and opulence.
Our experience at Terranea is always great, but this last visit was particularly spectacular. The resort itself is excellent; the spa services were top-notch as always, and the food at both the poolside spa cafe and their Asian fusion restaurant Boshi were impressively delicious. Jonathan at the poolside cafe made our experience even more pleasant with his friendly demeanor and great cocktail suggestions, and Dalia made sure the special occasion we were celebrating felt exactly as it should: forever memorable. We look forward to our next visit!

I had a customized facial and spent time in the spa afterward. The facility is always clean and tidy. Both steam and dry saunas work well and are also clean. Ample drinking water is available while in the spa, with light snacks in the waiting room as well. The facial was good, not fantastic. For almost 300$, I did expect fantastic. I had a series of products applied to my face, then wiped off, followed by another, wiped off, and so on. The application of products always feels nice going on, but that was the extent of the enjoyment. There should have been some facial massaging with light head and neck rubbing. Want to try a facial again as I love the spa. Naturally, Im apprehensive.
I will never stop posting my review about this place! My wedding was December 11, 2021. I had booked this place months in advance. I kept calling to confirm details until the day of. I show up with my bridesmaids the night before my wedding after check-in hours(I understand), exhausted from a very long day. I get into a back and forth issue with the front desk, which I dont understand because my stay had already been booked/ reserved, which means a deposit must have been placed. I am told I need to pay the full balance if I want to stay the night. I was so frustrated and angry that I asked for a manager. At this point, it was like 1am, my bridesmaids waiting in the lobby. The manager clarifies the same thing to me. I was too tired to even ask for pulled up receipts detailing my stay. Again, I shouldnt have had to ask for details when I already called several times before the month of! I went ahead and paid my balance of about 3-4,000$ so my girl friend and I could finally rest. The next day, the coffee shop employees were terribly rude, they supposedly didnt know what cold foam was. You would think at a Palos Verdes resort, theyd have a lot more than your local Starbucks. A Caucasian lady in line behind us was also disrespectful impatient while my friend, MUA, and I ordered. I dont care how not wealthy I look, Im paying the same as everyone in here!! I noticed that as other Caucasians came in the coffee shop, they were treated kindly, even were told about the night Christmas tree event they were having that night, no one nor the hotel mentioned that to me. My friends and I left the coffee shop with our unloved made coffee back to my hotel room to start my makeup for my wedding. Since I got there, my experience was frustrating and stressful but I didnt let that ruin my big day. I finally leave the resort to get married, I come back around 6-7 pm with my now husband to the Christmas tree event and it was so wonderful as everyone watched us walk up in our dress and suite with the tree scenery. We were greeted by a woman/ man of color which seemed to be the parking vale, my husband is black so I personally appreciate the respectful greeting as it was the only proper greeting we recieved since arriving. I honestly felt devalued for not appearing as the other guests in nice cars and clothing. Thank you, parking vale person God bless you. My husband and I get to our room and luckily our was room serviced and I felt absolutely terrible and embarrassed to even call for room service before I left the room for my husband to come to a clean room that I asked a kind Hispanic lady in the hallway if she can please come by my room as I was leaving, I even tipped her$5. I honestly felt like she took more initiative than the resort itself if I would of requested room service and I didnt trust staff in my room anymore just from how we were treated until this point. I dont have many things of value but it would of between the principle of snooping around my things. The afternoon came and I thought of ordering food room service, I called and was told I had nothing included in my stay with room service which is very aggravating to me because those are details I definitively confirmed over each time I called before my stay. You would think for a 5,000$ stay, youd get typical room service. Ive stayed at many hotels in my life that treated me way better than here for thousands $ LESS. I was so sad and disappointed to drive out the resort miles just to bring my husband and I back some crab before 10pm closing hours. This place was just seriously a disappointment but I definitely felt racism or judgment of appearance. For anyone of color, be aware pls unless youre a celebrity or NBA player. I post this review all the time because it seems to disappear. My wedding was definitely ruined due to this place.
LAs only beachfront resort and it is worth being alone in that category, no others needed. This place has it all.My recommendation is to stay in one of the Casitas, super romantic, gorgeous views, great property.They have 6 restaurants on site, 1 of them is so hot its almost impossible to get a table. The Catalina kitchen has a great seafood buffet.Entertainment in the evening with live music at two different locations on site to choose from.Golf course on site if you like to chase around the little white ball.4 pools on site, one of which is adults only and the views of the pacific are breathtaking.Trails to walk around, a gym that overlooks the ocean, impeccable grounds and staff to take care of your every need and desire.Went here for our 15th anniversary and didnt want to leave the place.
We have had an awful experience on this stay. The food we had at the pool was an uncooked hamburger and a grilled cheese where the cheese was not grilled. Then we went to the bar and ordered house fried chips that were right out of a bag and now this morning we ordered a breakfast burrito with no egg to the room and of course it came with eggs. It was not possible to get pool service after an hour so I went up to the bar. I needed to get my car back and it took 30 minutes with nobody waiting. It’s really not supposed to be like this at a place like this. The room is okay. I would compare it to a mid level Hilton. The water pressure is non existent and the rooms have not been remodeled in a while.

Piano Bar is great way to spend the evening. Old songs bring back old memories. A bit on the expensive side which keeps the locals away.

This resort is truly special and a local gem. Quite far from the freeway, tucked away in the picturesque area of the Palos Verdes peninsula. Terranea Resort is a spectacular site to visit for both locals and tourists who wants to relax and rejuvinate.
Terranea is just a magical place. Every time I go, I cant wait to go again. The grounds are beautifully manicured. Our room was absolutely stunning. I love a hotel room that has a full kitchen. I was also surprised by the number of activities the hotel had planned. Every day was something different. They even had karaoke on one of our days. I was having such a good time that I extended our stay another night. Thank you for making our anniversary such a memorable time. We will certainly be back again, and I will continue to recommend your hotel.
I came for the 4th of July. We had a great time. The dinner at the Carolina room was great, our room had an amazing view and we had a great time relaxing by the pool.

Especially like taking the Harley for a ride to there to enjoy the restaurants. They need motorcycle parking for guests. We park in the only lot for bikes and are sometimes asked by staff if we have permission (we do) to park there. They need places to part bikes where permission isnt needed...
Had a three day stay for a class reunion. Other than what I gave five stars for, Nelsons rocked especially thelive music.
Simply an amazing experience from beginning to end. From the moment we arrived at Terranea, all of lifes stresses disappeared. The hotel staff was so courteous and attentive. The view from anywhere on property is simply amazing. We had two amazing meals at Marsel and Bashi. The three pools are all so enjoyable, we spent most of the time lounging at the Vista pool. All in all this is a tremendous resort that we cant wait to enjoy again soon.

Seems like a beautiful resort. Cheerful and happy. One problem is just easter hunt. There were about 30 kids lined up but seemed like they had only spreaded 50 eggs at the field. The sign said: pick up 10 eggs each. Of course, only the first people who shoved or was first in line greedily got the eggs. Most people did not get any eggs. Terranea, please change to 1 egg per person if there are many people.

Awesome experience from start to finish! Amazing amenities and service, with ambience that is hard to beat. Weve stayed in resorts all over the country, and this place ranks up there with the best of them. Especially happy with the kid friendly nature of the entire resort and the restaurants we frequented, and a lot of folks were also here with their happy pets in tow. Good to know for future reference! All in all a memorable experience and likely a new annual tradition for our sons birthday :)
I took the opportunity to spend a few days around Terrenea after a busy LA trip. Getting to the resort is such a calming break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I thoroughly enjoyed the activities offered by the resort, especially the kayaking. Our guides were wonderful and taught us so much about the history of the land! I would highly recommend spending time in and around this resort.
We didnt stay but the resort is amazing with plenty to do and see. Amazing views.
We love coming here for a nice dinner and the views! One of our favorite places! It is on the pricey side, but for us, its totally worth it! Parking can be really difficult here, I def recommend paying for valet.
There is no better 5star resort to visit. The resort is unmatched both in location, class, and service.From the moment you arrive, you notice this property is different from most. From the manicured property grounds, to the scenic views, to the staff going the extra mile to keep guests happy, Terranea exceeds expectations.The restaurants are incredible, and the service was 5star. There are lots of kid friendly activities on site, as well as activities/areas only for adults. This place has it all and I will bring my family back often.
We just spent two nights at Terranea. It is a great location for a SoCal Staycation.The grounds and views are stunning and it gives off a similar vibe to the Montage in Laguna Beach.It is a large property with 500 rooms and residences. There are four pools of which one is for families with young children (has a slide and splash area). The cocktail at the pool was delicious and they provided sunscreen, towels and cucumber water. The remaining 3 pools have minimum age requirements.They have a restaurant overlooking the cliff called Nelsons, which is supposed to be great. We didnt eat there, but it is supposed to be lovely and they have live music throughout the summer.Our standard room was small yet nice. The property is so large, that we got in quite a bit of walking. If you have a couple celebrating a romantic vacation, it might be advantageous to seek out a smaller more intmate property or splurge and book one of the residences. There was a lot of hustle and bustle with the conference and the weddings.The spa, fitness center and the pool associated with this area feels more secluded and is lovely. They unfortunately had to remove the Pelotons due to the recent recall.There were multiple weddings on property while we were there and various live music venues with a large variety of restaurants and bars to choose from.Why 4 starts and not 5? The event catering (food quality and staff) were very disappointing and we were not the only ones who thought so. Other members of our conference had the same feedback. Everyone was discussing it at every meal. So perhaps keep this in mind if someone is looking to host an event at this location.Otherwise, it is lovely and they offer a bunch of excursions for an additional fee. The coastal walk is beautiful and free of charge and they also offer fitness classes without an extra charge.
The Hotel was fabulous, our room was in the hotel itself (ocean view, was the name of room). We were practically in the ocean. With the little manicure grounds view we had, it was of the perfect wedding ceremony. On top of that, every morning there was a trained hawk and his handler. The hawk I imagine was hired to keep bird from dumping on the place and guest. The handler had the bird fly from his hand to our balcony about 10 times . He was incredible to photograph. Beautiful trails, you can also choose to stay at a bungalow or villa. This all depends on #of guest, budget, and whether you want to cook for yourself. Guest have the option of 5 restaurants all fabulous. The chiefs there are 5 star ⭐ for sure.I will stay longer next time, and most likely in a bungalow, it will be easier with my dog,I will also save about 300 a night. whom was equally welcome. Lets not forget the spa treatment 5 star also. They did not try and upsale me on treatments or products. My son did archery with his father, they had a lot of fun. Renting electric bikes was a big hit also. My favorite part was the Sunday brunch, it was Easter mind you but, I hear they kill it every Sunday.

I didnt stay. I just visited, walked the beautiful grounds, had lunch and saw a very expensive wedding.This place is expensive from the parking to the everything else. But for a once in a while adventure at a very fancy foofoo location, definitely go visit.We ate at the Catalina Cafe. The burger ($27) was very good, but not the best. The veggie sandwich was super good (20$) the fries that came with it were good, the colliflower Buffalo bites ($12) were the best Ive ever had, the tuna wrap was good. Poke style raw tuna, shitake mushrooms, and some other stuff($20) was just ok. The tune was excellent but bland.It was overcast and coldish when we went, and it was the Saturday before mothers Day, so it was packed. Even though the staff was busy, they were polite and helpful. On a sunny day, this place is probably a great place to spend several hours walking around, hiking (there are trails the extend from this place) and just rubbing elbows with the other have.If youve never been there, its worth the trip.

It took a long time to get our car and my husband had a corvette key on the key for our car and they took it off without us knowing and we found it in the car people shouldn’t be doing that but the food was horrible and i don’t recommend but we did take some pictures for a family photo shoot
They advertised rooms (casitas) with kitchens, but upon check-in we find out only some casitas have kitchens, ours didnt even have a microwave. Everything is extra. Not near anything except the ocean. Which is beautiful & why I didnt give it just 1 star. Not great for kids after checking out the 1 pool they were allowed into, they got bored and wanted to stay in the room and watch TV. Everything about this place is manicured nothing is natural except what you see in the distance. The water used to maintain the lawns and gardens must be huge. There were watering pipes and systems everywhere. But thats not going to diminish anyones experience just a personal pet peeve

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, CA, and it was an absolute delight. Despite not knowing about the resort beforehand, we received a warm invitation for a site tour from Julia Bakhoum, one of the leisure sales managers. Julia helped us choose a date, took note of our preferences, and prepared a wonderful itinerary for our visit.Accompanied by my wife, two daughters, and familiar with Palos Verdes, we couldnt help but appreciate the breathtaking scenery on our way to the resort. We arrived a few minutes early, and to our surprise, Julia was waiting outside with her colleague to warmly greet us. From the valet staff to Ms. Bakhoum and her team, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome.The tour started with an overview of the hotels history and location. We explored various room options, from the King rooms to the luxurious suites and the stunning Shearwater Suite, all of which were immaculately clean, cozy, and boasted soothing ocean views or pool views. Along the way, we had the pleasure of meeting other managers and supervisors, engaging in pleasant conversations that added a personal touch to our experience.Following the hotel tour, we headed to The Beach Cove, the resorts charming beach. Although it was a small opening with a rocky beach, it was exceptionally clean. The resort compensates for its size by offering a range of activities, including guided kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and archery with real bows. We were greeted by a manager who took the time to explain all the available activities.We also had the opportunity to visit the spa, where we met David, the spa manager. He provided a detailed explanation of the spas offerings for both guests and day pass users. The spa facilities, including the lockers, sauna, segregated areas, and common spaces, were impeccable. The treatment rooms and waiting area boasted breathtaking ocean views, with the sound of waves breaking on the rocks creating a soothing ambiance.Next, we explored Nelsons, one of the resorts excellent restaurants. The atmosphere and setup were delightful, and we also had the chance to see the Villas, Bungalows, and Casitas. The spacious and cozy accommodations featured elegant decor and top-notch luxury furnishings, leaving us truly impressed.Although the golf course was a 9-hole, par-3 executive course, not my personal favorite, the well-maintained grounds and breathtaking views made it enticing. We had the opportunity to chat with Mike, the golf manager, who provided us with a tour. The addition of golf simulators for warm-up and lessons was a nice touch, enhancing the overall golfing experience.We also explored the lobby, Sea Beans (the resorts coffee shop), and Marea The Store before enjoying a delightful seafood buffet dinner at Catalina Kitchen. Despite my usual reservations about buffets, the quality of the food exceeded my expectations, deserving a rating of 9/10. The oysters and crab claws were of exceptional quality, and the service was outstanding. The attentive manager frequently checked on us, ensuring our satisfaction, and a sommelier expertly paired our meal with a lovely Chardonnay.After dinner, Mrs. Bakhoum had thoughtfully reserved a prime spot for us in the main lobby, where a comedy show featuring three talented comedians entertained us. It was a delightful experience to learn that Terranea offers different activities and shows daily, including live music, magicians, and comedy shows.Terranea Resort is truly a hidden gem that transports you to another world beyond California, offering a plethora of things to love and do. As someone who frequently travels overseas for business and leisure, I have noticed a decline in hospitality standards within the United States. However, Terranea shattered those perceptions with its old-school hospitality, surpassing expectations and creating lasting memories. I cant wait to return for a staycation or a small family gathering.

The most over rated brunch buffet in Southern California. And why is there no other option for Sunday lunch? Ridiculously expensive for very average food, that by 2pm was tired and dry under heat lamps.

Terranea, a 5-star stay with a completely stunning ocean-front room equipped with a balcony. Each morning, we enjoyed coffee and pastries outside while looking for whale spouts. We had drinks at Nelson’s, watched the sun go down over the lighthouse, enjoyed the pool, and walked the trails around the property.From start to finish, Henry Cox made our time at Terranea Resort a complete joy, reserving activities for our group and making sure we got the most out of our stay.Thank you for making our stay at Terranea so memorable. The decor, beachy 90s and needs an upgrade. The furnature in the rooms make this 5 Star Resort look dated. However, the service and hospitality of the staff is superb!
Absolutely enjoyed our stay here! The resort was beautiful with a breathtaking view. Upon arriving, we valeted and were able to check-in without a wait. We ordered room service the majority of our stay due to convenience and the food was good! Note, I’d avoid the pumpkin French toast, everything else that we ordered such as breakfast burrito, pancakes, steak, pizza, calamari, some chicken dish with pasta was all really good. We were only at the resort long enough to sleep and eat and didn’t get a chance to enjoy many of their amenities. The bed was comfortable, shower was at a temperature and pressure I liked, no complaints with this resort. It’s about 30ish min from airport without traffic and about 45m/1h from Beverly Hills/Hollywood area with minimal traffic. Good location, I’d stay again and recommend

This place is something special. Its right on the ocean. The buildings are well kept and the landscaping is gorgeous. The staff was more than helpful whenever needed. We had our wedding photos here and stayed here for 5 days. It was 5 days Ill never forget. We will definitely be back. Also, you have to go to bashi. The food at this restaurant is top notch.

The resort was gorgeous! Breakfast at Catalina was so so good - best buffet I’ve been to. Karaoke at Bashi was very entertaining - Erick was a great bartender. Took a yoga class on Saturday with Jose and it was amazing! Jose is such a great instructor and really made our experience at the resort so much better. We look forward to staying at the resort again.
Beautiful location and had a nice view of the ocean. The walls are paper thin though - we could hear the people talking in the next room. The phone didnt work and the glasses/ice bucket were dusty. The concierge accommodated a late check out request. They have shuttles all around the resort to take you where you want to go. There are activities and nice trails. The restaurants are OK - a bit expensive for the quality and flavor of food.

Spent a few days here with friends and felt like we were in Hawaii! The ocean and coastal views are unbeatable, especially at sunrise and sunset. Our favorite parts of the stay were the spa, Nelsons (best cucumber margarita ever), exploring all the walking paths around property, Marsel and enjoying the live music at the lobby. The staff members were also so nice and helpful! Every single person we met made our stay memorable - cant wait to be back.
Relaxing and charming stay despite the weather being still cold in May. Enjoyed the whole resort, the short hikes, heated pool, astounding view of the coast and restaurants.They validate your valet parking.
We went for the New Years Eve event. This was our first time and we would not go again for this particular event. You have to pay to enter the resort and pay for valet. There was a buffet with a variety of food and it was either undercooked, overcooked, or bland. I cant believe we paid this much for a terrible buffet. The best part was the Shu Mai and that was even store bought. The dessert table was the most disappointing as everything was stale. There was a small casino area, but was too crowded that the majority of people didnt have a chance to play. There was a photographer, but he took photos and then said to email for more info. We emailed without a reply and are unsure of how that is going to work as we didnt get a specific number for our photos. Probably one of the worse setups/services there. There was live entertainment which was probably the best part. The only positive was the open bar, but doesnt justify the price. We want to try to stay at the resort for a vacation, however, this event definitely left a sour taste in our mouth and we will most likely not based on what we experienced. Overall, would highly recommend NOT going to the NYE event.

We stayed here over Christmas weekend. It was beautiful. A lot going on for kids and music and ambience for adults in the lobby. Gorgeous views!! Employees were very polite, especially Ikusei at the front desk. He started our weekend off with a smile and great attitude, considering it was Christmas weekend and he was working.The only thing I would say is the $50 resort fee AND $50 valet fee is a little much. Just incorporate it into the rooms and/or restaurants if you have to. It just feels a little insulting after paying top dollar for excellent rooms and incredible food. One thing you need to know while staying here is Uber DOES NOT come out that far for pickups. We found that out the hard way trying to get to the airport.Unbelievable views and sunsets SUNRISES TOO!!. We will be back.

I live in the area and this is a place I love to come as often as possible. You can enjoy drinks and/or food while enjoying the sunset because the patio area is stunning. Ive never stayed there (again, cause I live 5 minutes away) but if I was from out of town, Id definitely stay here.The only drawback is it isnt in a walkable area so you would definitely need a car. The freeway (110N) is a good 20 minutes away and the 405 is about 30 minutes away.Ive eaten in the restaurants and everything is just delicious. You simply cant go wrong.It gets chilly at night, so make sure to have a sweater.
My fifth time here. It’s usually a four star experience and this stay was no different. Check in was excellent. Rooms are nice but small even for two fit adults. Food at the restaurants is really overpriced for quality. I knew what to expect so really, my expectations were met. Thankfully there’s a ton of excellent food options nearby if you’re driving.
What an amazing location! One of a kind views! We went to celebrate our grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and it was the best “stay-cation” you could ask for. Even though we were close to home it’s like a different world.Such a beautiful location I cannot wait to have my wedding there!!
There’s many different aspects to this review. And I think that the over arching four stars is for the general experience. Some of the service was amazing, some of the service was a little lackluster. The resort as a whole was a little underwhelming. The activities offered hotel gas such as horseback riding or kayaking could have been more adventurous; and an actual beach access would’ve been nice. The rooms were beautiful. The food was decent. A little over priced… But I would say if you enjoy sitting in your room and eating at restaurants and listening to live music this is the place to go. But if you’re looking for an all inclusive type of a resort this is probably not the place to go.
Before terranea resort it was marineland with a lot of sea creatures 🐳🐬🦭🐧🦈🦞🐡🐠🐟. From 1954 to 1987 it was sold by the owners of SeaWorld San Diego then it became terranea resort with an ocean view 🌊 of the Pacific.It was my first time there on mothers Day May 14th 2023 its a big luxury place seems like its for the rich 💵💰people my brother-in-law and his new wife invited my wife her sister and me to the resort bar in the lobby where they serve drinks 🍺🍷🍾🍸🍹 unlimited food my wife and I had a burger and french fries🍔🍟 her sister had a salad🥗 they even had a margarita Pizza🍕 that was pretty good the crust was nice and soft. For three people the bill came to $140 WOW When they bring you the menu it looks like a book one page with limited food and the rest was all alcohol. Before you enter you check in at the booth they have daily parking for $25 and overnight for $60.... Theres handicap parking ♿ and valet parking in front of the lobby they have a big water fountain. Its even pet friendly some people had their dogs there 🐶 🐕 🦮 🐕🦺.... Theres an outdoor patio with small fire 🔥 Pitts and they even have this guy playing a piano 🎹 with songs requests I requested John Lennon imagine of The Beatles and Neil Young old man So I guess if you want to take a vacation or even pamper yourself at the spa Im sure this would be the place to go.... Ocean view and relaxation terranea resort gets a 5-star review.....

We stayed in an excellent Ocean view top floor room. While walking on the path by the Ocean saw whales 😄and our 30th anniversary dinner was festive and delicious! Highly recommend this place for any special occasion. Don’t miss the Spa! Emily and Jim
I am not overly impressed. The location and views are really lovely, but Terranea Resort has a monopoly of the area and there is no real alternative but to stay here if an event is being held here. I didnt like having to work at figuring out what all the added charges were, including $40/day parking per vehicle (!?!). It felt like a bargain cruise that was going to extract every nickle possible. Staff was kind and helpful during our stay, except for the finance office people who definitely had an attitude when I asked why my credit card was charged hundreds of dollars above the room rates for each of the 3 rooms I booked (for a wedding) for possible incidentals. I am writing this review 9 days after checking out, and have still not received a refund for these incidental fees. Leaves a bad taste.
Terranea is beautiful. We had a family lunch at Nelsons. The food is good but expensive for what it is. You go for the view. Our server was good, Anthony I believe was his name. I expected more from the hotel however . They were short handed which can’t always be helped. I think Anthony was actually helping in the kitchen. Ok, we’re patient people and it was a nice day so waiting for drinks, food etc was not that big of a deal. We were celebrating a birthday which we did mention at lunch. I was expecting maybe a small scoop of ice cream or something at the end of the meal but we didn’t get anything. Ok fine not that big of a deal. We took a nice walk after around the hotel.When we went to get our car we waited 20 minutes. Parties that came after us we’re getting their cars and leaving. No valet checked to see why we were waiting or told us the car was coming. When my husband asked the woman who took his ticket if the car was coming she couldn’t find the ticket, then told him that he”walked away “ after he gave her the ticket. I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do after you hand the valet the ticket? She searched for his keys for another five minutes. When she located them she gave them to the valet and he DROVE to the other parking lot to get the car which took more time. No one said anything to us. Again we are patient people but a simple oops we forgot to get your car from someone would have been considerate. Other valets were checking on the other parties waiting for their cars and they all got their vehicles before us. When the valet finally brought us our car we got in quickly as we were tired of waiting he asked for the ticket that the head valet never gave us. I told him we waited for twenty minutes and he did apologize. It was not his fault but at this point we just wanted to go.Again Terranea is beautiful but I expected more form an upscale hotel that we spent hundreds of dollars at on a simple lunch.
Great for adults, really really bad for families. Hotel is okay, views are really great. Service horrendous.... beware. Also if you have kids, the room has tipping hazards and our dresser almost fell on my kids when drawers were opened (no one was climbing on it).Also, I would really avoid any of the restaurants. Our service at Nelsons was so terrible. 45min pretzel that was refrigerated cold. Burnt food on 3 occasions. We ended up not doing excursions and going off-site as everyone that works there seems to not enjoy their work.
We spent the day at the Spa overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This is a 5 Star pampering experience. I had the mani pedicure and its worth every dime. You have access to all the hotel has to offer. In the spa there is a pool hot tub sauna and steam room. Beautiful hiking trails 5 restaurants including one at the pool. It is worth every dime.
If your looking for a over the top wow experience that touchs about every category, quit searching and book your stay. Ask about the Lexus experience upon checking in.
Relaxing, hospitable stay at Terranea! Everything was great - smooth check in process, clean room, friendly staff. Henry Cox went above and beyond for us, providing reservations for resort activities, and made sure we had a memorable stay. He was great! Definitely recommend staying here to enjoy the resort, even if it’s just a staycation!
My girlfriend and I spend two nights in this property last week and was a great experience, guest rooms are nice, spacious and best of all, fantastic view.I visited three of the restaurants and food was delicious, and staff was very friendly.The only thing that I think Its excessive, parking fee $50 per night, everything else worth every penny.My girlfriend loved it, well definitely comeback again.
I stayed 4 nights, one in a villa and three in a single room. Both were immaculate, I even took a bath, which I never do in a hotel! The staff is also excellently trained and very professional. I was there for a business conference and the hotel provided the food, which was vastly superior to standard hotel fare.
For a wedding factory which this place is you would think they know how to do them. I was the bride you don’t feel special because they have 5 the same weekend and can’t keep track of any of them.Our gift bags were not given out to our guest and given out to other bridal parties guests! In front of my eyes. We lost so much money on these bags.I was given a key To a bridal suite and there was another groom in there waiting to get married and they had ordered food and changed valet on my name!!During the wedding guests leave stuff you leave stuff in rooms and guess what you will never get it back. Our special family cup a brand new pair of sneakers in the box a special folding chair all magically disappeared. I asked for surveillance footage no one got back to me or took it seriously. I want to be reimbursed for all of this. I would never accuse people of stealing but…Our person helping us with our wedding was Jessica she was amazing unfortunately she doesn’t have to do with the horrible way the hotel is run. Happy to take down this review if the hotel can rectify any of its wrong doings.
My wife and I wanted to go somewhere to relax and enjoy some quiet time together on a Baby Moon ahead of our second child being born. My wife said she really just wanted to hang out by a pool. We decided to stay at Terranea and we absolutely loved it!We stayed in a Casita. When I checked in at the front desk, I told the agent we were there on a Baby Moon. She left for a minute, came back, and gave me a stuffed animal for our future child - it was very sweet.The Casita was fantastic! We went on a couple of walks. The coffee shop had tremendous coffee and breakfast. We loved hanging out by the pool and ate multiple lunches there. Our entire experience at Terranea was perfect. We look forward to going back again and highly recommend going if you’re looking to relax and enjoy yourself.
This hotel is beautiful, the location is perfect and the views are stunning. Unfortunately, the service is terrible and the hotel rooms are very basic (could use a deep cleaning). Starting at the check in. We were told our room was at a separate building (it was not). We walked around looking for the unit when finally a nice cleaning lady guided us back to the right room in the same building we checked in at. We were told our bags would be brought to our room within a few minutes, yet after 2 hrs they did not arrive. After calling the front desk, they could not locate our bags and struggled to find them (they never gave us a ticket or number for reference). Finally after calling a second time, our bags were brought to our room. The restaurants have a amazing views but dont expect any service. From waiting over 30 min to sit down for breakfast and after having to stand up and ask multiple people for water, I do not recommend the Catalina Kitchen. Not a single waiter or staff stops by to ask if you need anything, in fact you are better off getting up and getting it yourself. Not to mention, the ravioli during breakfast/lunch mentioned it was squash/vegegies only to find lobster in the pasta. To our surprise, we advised the person at the buffet, they shrugged it off insuring no seafood was in the ravioli. After having to go back and get yet more to show them the lobster, they finally took it seriously. This is extremely dangerous considering my partner is deathly allergic to shellfish. The utter disregard and lack of investigation was concerning. Lastly, Nelsons. After having reserved a table outdoors with specific notes requestimg table with sunset view, we were advised that the tables in that section were reserved or VIP. Turns out they reserve tables for friends of the owner (no big deal) but when we requested to sit at an empty non reserved table we were told (party of 5) it was only to be used for a party of 6. After finally sitting at an uncomfortable location and finishing our meal, I can confirm the restaurant did NOT fill up and at least 2/3 of the section they would not sit us in, never had any guest. Overall, the golf attendants, the cleaning people and the views are the only good thing for this hotel. I would not consider this a 5-star, other than location. Honest feedback, I recommend training your staff to insure guest receive a 5-star experience not just a location/view.
Beautiful venue on the cliffs of the Pacific. Business dinner for six at Mar’sel. Wait staff was attentive. Extensive wine list, cheese plate was poorly presented, starters were bland. Entrees were well presented and enjoyed. Desserts were average. The unexpected issue was that the restaurant does not validate parking. This is ridiculous.
My 2nd visit and my husband’s first. He fell in love with it and neither of us wanted to leave. It’s just so beautiful there. We played golf (unbeatable views), worked out in a few of their great classes (yoga and full body are awesome), had massages in their fabulous spa …. Ate two delicious meals, Baschi was quite memorable, Nelson’s also good though. We were upgraded to a casita, which was really nice and spacious. Staff is lovely. We will be back!
A fantastic location. Beautiful Villa accommodations that allowed us to gather with friends and family while also enjoying all the services and amenities the resort has to offer. Dinner at Mar Sel is a must!
I dined at one of the restaurants for breakfast. Ambience is immaculate. Food was great. well made and high quality. I enjoyed walking around the facility. I would recommend this place. Day parking without staying at resort is $20. valet parking is $50. You can purchase day passes. parking is free with use of spa etc. You can park off facility for free, its a bit of a walk but not bad at la.. I would recommend going early. Staff is friendly. Brunch is also great.

Excellent place for a peaceful stay. Awesome views from room. Lovely morning and evening walk trails. Beautiful sunrise & sunset views on the horizon in ocean. Great food. Clean and large enough rooms.I enjoyed the stay when I went there for a CIO event recently. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Would have been more relaxing and lovely, if I had gone there on vacation with family as was busy with event during this stay. Staff are courteous; prompt service and have never seen them disturbing in your room or anytime during the stay.I had ocean view and pool view from my room which is very beautiful.
They are coasting on the scenery. The service is horrible. The food is not good. They nickel and dime you on everything including resort fees and parking and coffee. The rooms and facilities need updating. The first day we waited 15 minutes to be seated and no hostess arrived so we seated ourselves. This morning we waited 20min to get seated in an empty restaurant for breakfast. We waited 40 minutes for the bellhop and ended up carrying our luggage down ourselves, making us late for the airport. The activities are priced outrageously (eg 150 per person for Archery or Kayaking) Definitely not up to Amex fine hotels and resort standards except for the views.
We had the most spectacular time at Terranea! We stayed for Easter weekend and were absolutely blown away by the magnificent setting, perched up on the cliffs of Palos Verdes. The environment is as relaxing as it is astounding. The property is luxurious and quiet, yet tons of fun for families. The pools were well matched for age groups and dining service was top notch. If you enjoy fine dining, Marsel is a must! The fresh truffle pasta finished in a parmesan wheel served tableside and the perfectly prepared halibut were standouts. Service was exceptional everywhere, from the welcome at the Front Desk and daily housekeeping (hard to find these days) to Marsel the dedication to go above and beyond was front and center. Kids Club was a hit for the kids and parents to enjoy some age appropriate fun for all. To top it off, the Easter festivities were second to none! The holiday brunch was one of the best Ive ever seen, the seafood bar exquisite, all paired perfectly with a clean, organized and successful petting zoo, complete with Easter bunnies and flawless egg hunt. A really wonderful and memorable experience for all! We hope to visit again!

Absolutely gorgeous! I was here to beet a collector, and it was lovely all the way around. Perfect setting.
Great local getaway resort. You can usually find pretty good live music in the lounge & have a drink. The outdoor firepit seating is great for conversation and light bites. Nelsons is great for dining and their summer outdoor concerts are awesome.

As a humble UberEats delivery driver dropping off some late night snacks to some guests, I was awestruck by the posh elegance of the resort. To me it just feels more upscale than the resorts I have delivered to down in Orange County.But The real reason for my review is that they have one of the most professional, courteous, and respectful overnight concierge person in the front lobby. He treated even me... just a delivery person, with the utmost respect and discretion. He was an absolute gentlemans gentleman! In my line of work, thats a rarity to experience, and Im very thankful for that.If the concierge service is of that high caliber, I can only imagine how the rest of the resort and staff must be like. They say first impressions are everything, walk into the lobby and youll feel like a million dollars!
Came here for a wedding and stayed a couple of nights. Rooms are lovely, and the bathrooms are great. Loved the pool, it was warm and no shock to get in. Its also a salt water pool so no chlorine!Wedding venue was beautiful and the view overlooking the coast is spectacular.The wedding appetizers and meal were nice. The presentation was beautiful and wait staff were great and very helpful.If its your first time to LA, this place is quite the distance from most of the touristy things. Either plan for a long drive or plan to stay in this area and skip the other LA things.
I didnt stay at the hotel here, but I and my date spent some time at the lobby bar and the garden. The lobby bar is a beautiful place, amazing vibe, with live music on the day we were there (a Sunday evening). It really was nice. We almost didnt want to leave 😀. The food was good (we had the calamari something) and it was a lot. I was surprised at the amount of food. The drinks were pretty good too.Parking was also not bad. Just $12 for valet parking.That was for the lobby bar. The garden walk was amazing. So so beautiful and the area that overlooks the ocean is breathtaking. I highly recommend this place 💯.Next goal is to stay for a day or two in the beautiful hotel, and try the other restaurants at the location.
I was on the fence if I should treat myself to a treatment and I am so thankful I did! The spa was so beautiful quiet and had so many great spaces to relax and enjoy. I got an incredible facial with Jamaine. She listened made me feel comfortable, relaxed and has magical hands. She treated me to so many different products, great extraction and left my skin glowing. I have gotten many facials in my life and I am very picky and her facial was one of the best I have ever had. Treat yourself and enjoy!
Beautiful trails wrap around the resort and give you spectacular views of the Pacific ocean. Every single one of the large staff l encountered were friendly and eager to help.

Ive visited this place before, but this time I went with my mom to eat breakfast and enjoy the scenery.I enjoyed the food a lot! We ate at Nelsons. As we wait for the entrance, we have enough time to walk around the trail and take some nice pictures. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect! It was cloudy with a cold breeze that made for some good memories.Go here if you want to spend time with someone special. I plan on returning soon.
Just visited so I didnt experience rooms or service. Grounds and bar are beautiful. Incredible ocean views.I recommend sitting at the bar outdoors absorbing it all in.The drive to get there is a wonderful experience. It is a destination !People think Trump owns it affecting presence. Apparently he doesnt.
Sea Beans is very good but my latte was not hot. They fixed it quickly!
Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is extremely relaxing and the views are absolutely beautiful!! The rooms are slightly outdated and a little below what you would expect for $1200 per night, however the staff makes up for it. Overall a great place to spend a few days to get away. We live very close but can’t resist going here to spend the weekend. Lol. It’s that nice !!!

Terranea has been on my list of places I wanted to stay for a long time. I cant say I was totally disappointed, but I was also not blown away. For the price, I was pretty shocked at the poor level of service. When we arrived, our room wasnt ready - at 5:15PM! We had been told we could check in at 4 at the latest, so we were very frustrated to wait with our bags in the lobby after a long day of travel. Not to mention, at the hourly cost of this hotel for an ocean view room, that was almost $100 of time we shouldnt have had to pay for.Luckily, the location was spectacular and the ocean view made up for a lot. But we were also surprised that after a day by the pool, our room had not been cleaned. We didnt expect a full service even, just simply new towels and a made-up bed. This kind of service is what we expect these days from a lower level hotel, but the price they ask you to pay makes the small details matter much more.I would recommend saving your money and booking a vacation where you will get great service. I can only hope Terranea goes back to the quality I heard so much about before COVID - as it stands, I would not return.

Unfortunately it didn’t meet our expectationsThe patio door was not locking and we had a toddler with us and it was so hard to peacefully sleep at night because of that. We called them and they said they will send a technician to fix it in 10-15 min but that never happened. The shower drain was not working properly and all the water was accumulating while showering. 3 huge spiders in three different corners in the room. We were disappointed give the price we paid to stay there
If you have a chance, book the falconry experience. It is amazing.
California at its best. Pretty close to everything you would want to go see. And a great place to stay if you dont want to go anywhere. So much to do, so many attractions offered, its perfect place to come with family especially younger kids. There are pools, there are educational programs, there is horse riding and stargazing at night, they offer classes for children. Theres even a little trail down to the beach, and its magical. We saw dolphins swim nearby. The food at the restaurants was great and it offered really good variety of cuisines. Great place!
We have stayed at luxury hotels many times but this is a beautiful resort but the service is poor.We waited for more than 4hrs to check in. Granted, they were busy but we got the wrong room and one of our keys for the other room didn’t work even after waiting so long to check in.We are here for our Wedding Anniversary and if we could cancel our stay we would.No body wash in the bathrooms and no slippers.Restaurants and hotel is beautiful but we have eaten at 2 of their restaurants and both times the staff seems tired and unpleasant.This is the 1st poor comment I have written for any hotel and we travel quite a bit.

Didnt really match the hype at the Asian themed bistro. Food was only mediocre over the course of 5-6 small plates and service was meh. Notable- the appetizer ribs were served as a solid mass of 5-6 bones and two requests for a knife were ignored. Our server didnt seem to care. The ribs were not tender enough to pull apart.
Service, rooms, and common areas were amazing.However, there were a lot of dogs raised by bad owners that caused a lot of commotion while I was there.
Obviously most go for the golf, or for business, or for a special event, as its got a decent cliff-side view with a golf course, and ample meeting rooms. Its also a bit out of the way on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, so kind of a hassle to get to other areas of Los Angeles, especially in rush hour traffic.And the rooms, while pretty good, arent quite cutting edge-- but if you go at an off time and can get one of the casitas at a decent rate, you are definitely in for a very spacious treat.
I loved the overall experience but there were a few issues. I am not super high maintenance about small details but I wanted to note them bc anyone who’s paying resort prices should be aware.Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived and that is mainly because we arrived early. We were supposed to have a general double room in the main building and we got a free upgrade to a Casita. Which we liked more because we wanted the better parking spot close to the room. We loved the room. It’s spacious and had a nice deck and big bathroom.Though the room had a few hiccups we didn’t care. The phone never worked even though we called twice and had it looked at. Our fridge we had to have replaced bc it was broke. And the desk light never had a bulb so we had that brought up to the room. The casitas were mid remodel so they changed door locks in the middle of our stay. We had problems with the keys.We loved the grounds and the beautiful walk around to see the coast line. It was stunning. Also loved eating at Catalina Kitchen!We had a big complaint about the spa pool access and their service - and tried to have it addressed as tactfully as possible.Other than that we truly loved it there !
Valley parking $20+tips retrieval in 10 min. Not sure about night stay parking charges, I think its all same. Gorgeous territory and impeccable service. Everyone is helpful. There are 3 pools, garden, setups for wedding ceremonies, smaller rental stay houses besides a few large apartment hotels. Multiple restaurants. Ocean rocky view.
One of the most sought after gems of South Bay. If its impressive to the locals I cant imagine how it feels for visitors from afar. The service is here is just amazing and every staff is eager to help you with a smile.The location is absolutely breath taking. If you want to escape from the world and connect with nature without having be in the wilderness...this is the place. World class hotel with all the amenities you can wish for. Comes with its exclusive access to the beach and trails along the beautiful Pacific coast line.

Went for a conference, but what an amazing place. Beautiful views, food was great, staff was extremely pleasant, rooms super nice, you can walk for days and sunrise and sunsets are incredible!
Stayed three nights in August. LOVED the Staff, especially Candy McCormack and Stevie Yates who are total pros, so shout out to them for making us feel SO well taken care of at the resort! We enjoyed the gardens, Nelsons for lunch & music, the Lobby Bar and Marsel for dinner on our anniversary. The ocean view from our room was stunning. I felt like we were in Hawaii minus the 5 hour flight. We hope to return for a rehearsal dinner in the future. Cheers! - Carolyn

Its a heart on soul-less congress hall, cold and without any charm. Lets start at the entrance hall; cheapster flower bouquet small, then the freezing cold lobby with open doors and tons of staff running around in winter jacket. Hotel does not want to be more then what it makes money with, staff says, hotel manager only cares about big congress bucks and they know its not nice for guests not welcoming, not grand, not cosy.Facilities quite rotten: toilet seat of lobby looks so scratched like pooped on, the lobby furniture falls apart and there is nothing special at any corner of this dated place.Lobby bar is closed for renovation, no indoor spa at all, pay 50 resort fee for nothing - even pay tv like motels in the 70ies.Last not spectacular thing is the low water pressure and dust in the rooms.Summary: welcome to LA, pay a lot for nothing, as the rip off is perfectly fine being an underserved hotel community where you perfectly can live with congress tourists that dont care. The corporation beer at night is sufficient to keep them happy. A sad place and nothing to come to, next close great resorts l in palm springs or vegas.No money spent on flowers, maintenance, heating, outdoor cushions, toilet seats or anything..Welcome to the terreacheapster congress motel…
Breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean coupled with exceptional service and accommodations! Its hard NOT to relax in this setting. Had dinner at Marsel. One of the best filet mignons Ive ever had. Cant wait to go back!

Paid 430.00 for the thanksgiving banquet. It was very disappointing. I would have eaten better food had I paid $20 and sizzler buffet. The food choice and quality was sub standard and to make it worse everything was at best warm to cold. Terranea is a beautiful location, I have been a customer there for many years but this was nothing short of awful and the fact that I paid $420 😟
Given that we had an ocean view- Small issues with room - cabinet door in bathroom was broken, shower door didnt close all the way so floor got wet.Stains on carpet floor, bar items had mold inside carafes.The service and location were absolutely impeccable!!
My wife and I have stayed here many times and lately this resort has been extremely shady with their promotion offers. They offer a FREE third night but in reality they are charging you by adding extra fees to the night you are actually paying for. Very fraudulent and honestly surprising. I guess they are trying to make up for lost times during covid. Be very careful about these promotions.

2023-11-30 15:54:33Im from Hawaii but this is my favorite place to dine and walk around when Im visiting my friend here in RPV. Atmosphere is so uplifting... everyone seems so happy and staff is welcoming ( even though Im not staying the night!) Im always greeted so friendly. I absolutely love the Holiday decorations, gingerbread houses and the Chests music playing with kids all having fun in lobby exploring beautiful decorations. I was able to feel the wonderful Holiday spirit just after Thanksgiving....so glad I was able to visit on this trip before heading to Lake Tahoe!! It was a unique beautiful experience with an incredible view and ambiance. Also their kayak and archery activities are highly recommended.

2023-12-03 09:47:11I went three times on business trips and it is sooo beautiful. The staff is very friendly. The hotel food is delicious. It is always an activity for you to do. The resort is not far from grocery stores, gas stations, and other restaurants. I would definitely go back.

2023-11-04 15:45:33We stayed here for 4 nights and it was fantastic!!We have been meaning to check this place out and are so glad that we finally experienced it!Beautiful location and magical sunsets!!The scenery around Terranea is amazing!Music in the lounge each night was very good too!It has a really good gym with plenty of high end equipment.This is a gem property! The staff was super.The walk along the trails and cliffs are very nice to do.We saw dolphins too!Joe the “Falconer” gave an introduction into how he and his various birds, keep the property free of pesky birds.We enjoyed this place so much that we are already planning a return trip in a couple months.

2023-11-06 22:10:34Booked our stay through Costco as a package deal. Got here early hoping to check-in early. They were able to accommodate us and we decided to upgrade to an ocean side room.The room itself had two double beds, bathtub, stand alone shower and toilet. The door to the toilet was a frosted glass door which I thought was different and didnt really care for. Im not sure if it was the bar hand soap or sink drain, but whatever it was, it smelled bad. There was a Keurig coffee machine, room safe and small fridge.We did not eat at any of the resort restaurants nor did we order room service, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food but looking at the prices on the menu, hopefully the food is stellar. We did buy a few items from Sea Beans which were good.The property and our view were absolutely beautiful! The entire staff that we had interactions with were second to none! We did not take advantage of all the resort amenities. Terranea would definitely be the top of our list if we decide to go back to the area. I would consider upgrading to a room with a kitchen next time or a room with a microwave at the least.

2023-11-17 15:57:25Pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful resort. There is plenty to do and great food. I felt like we hit the Jack Pot for future vacations in Los Angeles. The ocean views and staff were professional and very accommodating. We booked for only one night prior to getting on a cruise the next morning. This will be our go-to resort in LA moving forward.

2023-09-20 03:56:58Great stay. The resort feels like very secluded from urban Los Angeles, even though its just a short drive away. At check-in, our host saw we had two young children with us and upgraded us to a room that was easy to get to, with two large beds. The Kids Club was great for our two girls. Serena and Olivia at the Kids Club were wonderful: our daughters are still talking about the fun time they had, several days after our stay. Very classy all around, without being too pretentious. Well definitely come again.

2023-10-26 18:07:31Came here for my husbands birthday and everything was absolutely amazing. The property is everything you expect at a luxury resort. The staff was cheerful and helpful, the views were stunning, the decor was well thought out, and the food was incredible. We’ll definitely return.

2023-10-31 06:52:32Place is incredible. The staff are a class act. The tranquility and relaxation one gets out of this experience is top notch. Definitely a place to visit. The fam and I stayed the weekend several months ago and we try to go for lunch/dinner every other month. A reward to ourselves. Plus, you are able to get out of the City and onto trails leading to the beach or restaurants. Do yourself a favor and visit the place. Dogs are allowed!
