Prices are about 50% higher than what youd pay in Thai Town, and the flavors arent nearly as good. Noodle dishes start at $16, and if you add meat or veggies, they go up from there. The ChowNow link wasnt functional (wouldnt allow orders until tomorrow), and the prices listed on the restaurants own webpage are incorrect (the real prices are higher).Food-wise, the noodles were lightly spiced and oily. Curry was starchy (like a thickener was added), which was quite odd. Neither dish would cut it in Thai Town.There may not be better options in Santa Monica north of Pico—I dont know. All I know is we have many great Thai restaurants in greater Los Angeles, and sadly this is not one of them.

This is your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant. It offers portions that are just enough to keep you sated. The pricing is very reasonable, especially compared to other Santa Monica and Wilshire spots. Now on to the food:I ordered the Pad See Ew, one of my (and many others) favorite Thai dish. The noodles had great consistency and soaked up the sweet and salty sauce. I do usually prefer when they use Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan), but the regular broccoli was still well cooked.I also ordered the Pad Thai. It was pretty good. My only complaint is that they used a very thin noodle instead of a more broad noodle, but this is more of a personal preference. Everything else was well executed.The fried rice was a bit disappointing. It would be decent as a small side but I wouldn’t recommend it as a main course. The rice was a bit mushy and the veggies didn’t combine that well. Overall it had good flavor, but just lacked balance.Due to how close and convenient this place is to me, I’ll likely come back here. Give this place a try if you want some solid Thai takeaway!

We stopped here just to try a new Thai spot in the neighborhood and I was so impressed. (I never give reviews btw) This place is SO CLEAN! Like brand new looking (apparently because they just moved to this location) and the food was amazing (and huge portions)We had pineapple curry, fried rice, cashew chicken, egg rolls, and the pork (can’t remember the name appetizer). Can’t wait to go back with friends. Also waitstaff was really attentive and again…SO CLEAN!!

So flavorful! Everything looked so great in the menu, but its even better in when it comes to your table! A short walk from the Ambrose. We arrived after 7pm on a weeknight. No problem with seating and the food comes out quickly. Go and enjoy!

It’s such a bad decision to dine here.Prices are okay BUT Food is not great.Service sucks, the waitress was rude, pushy and not patient.I like to order my soup eat it and then order food.She had such a bad bad bad attitude.The skinnier lady was extremely friendly and service oriented but she was not our waitress, she realized our group are uncomfortable with the attitude of the chubby waitress so she was trying to accommodate us!Do not wait your money there are plenty other Thai food restaurant with a great food and service.NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL!!!The one star is for the skinny lady who helped us.Watch your bill, they add the tip even if you are 4 people! Thai restaurant on Wilshire with generous portions for reasonable prices. There’s also happy hour from 3-6 with cheap beers and select apps. Came here on a Sunday at 6pm for dinner with a group of four and was seated immediately. There were a couple other tables and it’s indoor seating. The waiter was prompt in getting our drink orders and there’s also a free Thai iced tea if you check in on yelp. We got the sampler for the appetizer which came with veggie spring rolls, shrimp wrapped in fried noodles, and this fried curry thing that I liked the best. The sweet chili sauce that came on the side was good as well - sweet, not spicy at all, with an almost syrupy texture. The dishes we ordered were all sub-$20 but were very large. The pad Thai was yummy as was the pad see ew. You have the option of meat so this can certainly be made vegetarian. The fried rice has different levels of slickness that you can customize and was also plentiful. The honey ribs came in three and were large. Those were alright, but I’d get the pad thai and pad see ew again. The Thai tea was also deliciously creamy and sweet, and you could share it between two people. We left with doggie bags for all our food so I feel like we got a really good deal for the portion sizes. They do take card and bathrooms are available in the back. Overall a good spot for some Thai food in Santa Monica where you can get your money’s worth.

Cant wait to eat there again. We ordered 3 lunches for the 3 of us and we ended up stuffed and took 2/3rds of the food home for more meals. Great atmosphere and the 3 dishes we ordered were delicious. We had pad thai, pad see ew, and pad kee mao. All 3 were noodle dishes. Next time we will try the panang curry, basil chicken, and the tom kha gai coconut based soup. Lunch prices are excellent considering a single entre can feed 3 people!

Always a favorite!!! Been going here for 20 years. The menu has changed from time to time, but I can always order what I like. If the food is not hot enough, ask for Thai Hot. The facility has had some nice updates. I tend to compare most Thai food with what I have ordered here. Now its a must anytime I am back in town.

Sauces seemed watery and not very authentic. We had to flag the waitress down to order our entree after we finished our appetizers. My girlfriend and I have come here dozens of times and our experience has been nothing short of phenomenal. You cannot have better Thai food or staff. We live around the corner and come here weekly. We have never had one single experience that is less than fantastic. Thai Dishes is the best you will find in Santa Monica and LA. From the panang to the fried rice, it is truly incredible.

Terrible.I recently made an online order and when picking up my food I asked the employee for some change to give a cash tip...Before giving me change he decided to mention to me that I did not include a tip on my order...huh?When did tipping on take out orders become a thing? Its getting ridiculous.I just drove in the rain to pick up my food buddy ... Waiters / Waitresses and delivery folk get tips for service when delivering food or eating inside a restaurant.Tipping is discretionary and not automatic.There are many other great Thai Restaurant options in Santa Monica...This place is off my list.

The reason I’m giving Thai Dishes (Wilshire) five stars in not because I think it’s the best Thai food in the country or even the best in LA, but because the food is still so good that’s it one of my favorites. It’s so close to where I’ve lived all my life that it’s possibly the restaurant I’ve eaten at more than any other in the world, and I travel. My whole family used to meet here when they were all still getting along (lol). It’s just really great Thai food with a big menu, so it’s easy to order healthy and delicious things. This restaurant has been there for so long that I remember when it was one of the three first Thai food restaurants in all of Los Angeles. It was just as good then as it is now.

Been going here since the late 80s. Inside, its nicer now, but the food use to be better then. Pineapple rice, use to come in a hallowed out pineapple. It was amazingly good too. Now its just served on a flat plate. Boring, and not as tasty. Other Thai Dishes plates are good, but not great. I remember back then, wed always comment on how great it was. Its obvious theyve changed management, cooks a few times. Overall its good experience, so dont let me sway you from trying it. Just remembering how it was.

I have been coming to this rather humble looking little bistro for about eight years now. I only ever get Cashew chicken, but they seem to have a lot of very tasty food and I am sure it is all as well prepared and yummy as the cashew chicken. Minor drawbacks are; 1.Slightly small portions 2. Slightly high prices. It makes sense that the prices would be higher than in a Thai restaurant elsewhere, because the cost of living and rent are so high in Santa Monica. So, under the circumstances, I would say you are getting your moneys worth. I would recommend this place to anyone who even remotely likes Asian food. The service is always fast and friendly and the atmosphere is appropriate for the venue.

Thai Dishes has been a Westside staple for many many years. The great place for locals delivery term for travelers visiting from out of town and staying in the Santa Monica. Everything on the menu is delicious the staff is super friendly and nice the prices are decent for what you get most portions are rather generous. The meat quality is superb especially dishes like crying tiger steak is always prepared perfectly. When dining in parking can be a little bit tricky street parking is hard to come by. They have a great delivery service but if you call in the earlier hours on the weekend delivery can be rather fast and swift. However when ordering during peak dinner times especially during the week be patient because traffic can be a real challenge for delivery drivers. One of my favorite Thai places in Los Angeles and you wont be disappointed.

I have been here several times but today my food was cold and my egg roll taste like they were old.I dont know what happen today but it was not good. I told my server and she was sweet about the whole thing and wanted to have my dish made again nut I had to go back to work so she didnt charge.that was really nice. Excellent choice for Thai cuisine in Santa Monica. This is a beautifully decorated restaurant with strong customer service, so I highly recommend coming in for dinner. A cool perk? If you check-in via Yelp, youll receive a free Thai Iced Tea.My friend was running an hour late for dinner, but the staff was extremely considerate letting me wait so long at the booth. This is the only dining experience I can remember having in the last decade where I did not tip. They did literally everything possible wrong about a dining experience except spit in the food (and who knows... maybe they did that too). Dont go here. There are better places a few blocks away.Very long wait for the order to be taken even though it was a slow night. The order was incorrect (shrimp instead chicken shrimp Thom Ka). I would have eaten it anyway but I hate shrimp. The soup was barely lukewarm, and had four shrimp in a pot meant to share. Thats forgivable. They replaced it with what I ordered the first time. I love this dish and order it at almost every Thai place I go. It was not good. The bill came and I had been charged for both the incorrect and taken back shrimp order and chicken order.My friend received his Pad Kee Mao 20 minutes after I got my incorrect entree, right around when I got my replaced order. I have had this dish at a hundred Thai places. It was ok at best. 4.5/10. The first refill of water happened as they brought the aforementioned incorrect bill. And to top it all off, I have a strong stomach and can usually handle the spiciest of Thai food. This wasnt spicy, but I currently feel like a stomach volcano. Ugh.

Not the most authentic Thai cuisine. Lacked the savory flavors that Thai dishes are known for. Quite on the bland side. Had to ask for Thai chillies, which were not in their common condiments.Customer service was not exceptional for a place of this setting. Water glasses were filthy and there were black marks on the rim of my noodles bowl.Many other wonderful Thai places out there! Dont settle here. :)

The hostess was very rude, he never called us for our table, even after he told us it will be about a 10 minute wait and to wait outside. They never even called our name inside or outside to see if we was still there. They even seated 3 couples that came in after us. Muk Krak Tiem made at Thai Spicy level is a must try if you love heat & seafood. The green curry was nice with eggplants but huge chucks of chili (ordered thai spicy) got in the way of the curry. The chicken BBQ was average. Might have made a mistake ordering the pad thai at mild level as it was lacking in flavor... generally liked the take out and will keep on my rotation.
