2023-12-10 08:12:11Came here for quick late-night thai food and ended up staying for two hours singing karaoke and dancing. Fun vibes from some regulars and good food

2019-09-25 05:07:24Lets put it this way, you might be walking down the street thinking to yourself I need a drink and also I want karaoke, but every place is packed. Well fret not, friend. Thai power will not be packed. And it WILL have karaoke. And it will be amazing.

2022-03-27 09:50:33Very expensive and not very good customer service. There were no customers dining in and my wife and I still had to wait 30 min for our food. A tofu pad thai cost the same as a shrimp. One bottle of Corona cost 6.00. Save your money and go to a better Thai Dine in.

2022-06-28 20:04:30You have to understand what Thai Power is really all about and yes, I realize, it is a bit confusing. Thai Power is owned by a Thai lady. The exterior is Thai. It nominally serves Thai food (IMO the Tom Yum is the best Thai dish on the menu). Yes, the prices on the menu are outdated. Inside, however, it is a Thai owned establishment with a primarily Filipino clientele. They dont call Daly City Little Manila for nuthin. Counterintuitively some of the Filipino dishes they serve are very good. Adobong Kambing (Spanish style Goat Stew) is delicious IF you like goat. As with Lamb it isnt everybodys cup of tea. Lots of Black Pepper, Bay Leaf, and Dark Soy. Mixed Pancit (Bihon, Canton, Shrimp, Chicken, Fish Balls, Lemon Wedges etc.) can also be very tasty. Not for the faint of heart, but a dish I dearly love, is the Crispy Pata a deep fried whole pigs foot. Crispy, greasy, fatty DELICIOUS! It comes with a soy, vinegar, and chopped onion dipping sauce to cut through the fat. Do not order this dish to go. Deep Fried Pigs Foot does not travel well, it must be eaten fresh out of the fryer. Thai Power is, first and foremost, a Filipino FOB karaoke spot although all are certainly welcome to partake. You have to get it. It makes me feel like Im back in Asia. These types of joints are all over the place in Southeast Asia. In Thailand, in the Philippines, wherever. Asia loves karaoke bars, working class Filipinos in particular love to sing and dance. Remember the line from The Beatles song A Little Help From My Friends what would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me?. Remember those words and you just might appreciate Thai Power for the simple, humble, unpretentious cultural mashup that it is.

2016-03-10 18:28:06This restaurant is misrepresenting themselves and overcharging customers. To All the potential people wanting to eat at this restaurant: Beware:My husband and I came to this restaurant on 3/3/16 around 8 pm. We used Google search to find a Thai Restaurant close to where my husband works, and found the restaurant Thai Power. When we arrived, we noticed they had Karaoke and it was very loud. We noticed the restaurant was filled with patrons. When we sat down, we waited a long time to get serviced, but no one really came to our table. I had to go to the bar to ask for menus. The lady behind the bar gave us 2 menus and we went back to our table. As I looked at the menu, I noticed that it was Filipino food and some of the menu was in the language of Tagalog. I got up to give the menus back to the bartender, and explained that I thought this was a Thai Restaurant, and that I wanted Thai Menus. She took the menus back and gave us 2 different menus and this time, they were in English and it was Thai food. Here is where we have problems with this whole situation. After the female bartender gave me the menus, she immediately said, I want to let you know that these menus (Thai) are old. We dont have the ability to make some of the items on this menu and the prices are incorrect. We havent received the new menus yet, but we will have to charge you at least $1 or more more for any of the items that you order providing you order something that we makeI was surprised to actually hear this from her. I went back to the table with my husband, and we made a decision not to eat in the restaurant anymore. We gave the menus back and we walked out.I feel that we should have not been treated this way.Although we dont have a problem with Filipinos or their food, it is not why we came to the restaurant, to eat Filipino food. If you give a Thai menu, the restaurant should be cooking all of the Thai Food in addition to Filipino food. Finally, we should feel welcome in the restaurant and not be told that we have to pay $1 more per item because the menus are old. Please note***Other people have written poor reviews similar to ours in Yelp Revews
