Somewhere down a lonely road you will smell the tantalizing scent of green curry. Come late and hungry. Sit at the corner table and chat up the server. This restaurant makes me feel like someone is putting care into feeding a 11pm patron. Also get dessert.

New Review 2021: I got a takeout recently from Thai Stick and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and quantity of the Duck Red Curry order. The curry had quite a bit of roast duck in a base of coconut milk, spices and herbs like basil. I found the loads of chopped pineapple they added in the curry a bit strange. The spiciness can be customized from Mild to Spicy. Overall, its a good experience. However, I must mention that the inside of the restaurant smells strange and unpleasant and would recommend a takeout or outside seating.Old Review 2017 : The food is pretty ordinary, however this place is open late into night, thats the best thing about it.

Such a great restaurant! Paul, the owner, greeted us, gave us recommendations, and was a delight. He told us that he’s run this restaurant for 32 years!The food came out fast and was delicious. I’d definitely recommend!

We found this gem while picking up our son from SF Airport. I must say the food was delicious and service excellent. Best Thai I have enjoyed in the bay. I love eggplant snd it was so good.

This is a nice family Thai Food restaurant. The Grandpa who makes the food was so attentive. He came out to our table to warn us of the spice level and offered to give it to us on the side. He also gave the kids free ice cream and talked to them for a while. But the pad thai and combination fried rice was great. We also had basil rice, calamari, and egg rolls. Must try next time youre in San Francisco.

We werent sure about having an authentic Thai culinary experience at this place at first because it kind of resembles more of a laid back pub for clueless foreigners, but boy were we surprised.We were slightly disappointed that the sweet and sour rock cod that was on the specials menu that night was deep fried, but the Tom Yum soup really packed a punch and raised some temperature !The staff are also very friendly, great place for a late supper and hangout.

Ordered the chicken pad see ew ($12) and garlic shrimp ($15) for take out. Both tasted good but the shells were peeled off but still attached and they definitely werent edible so I dont understand why the shells were even there to begin with? Really strange and never seen that before anywhere. A bit off-putting but not a huge deal

Not great. The place smells pretty funky, the carpet is all stained. It looks gross, the table is sticky, and just overall isn’t that great of an experience… That said, the food was decent, but nothing spectacular.

I typically do not complain or write reviews about restaurants. But I felt its necessary to share my experience at this restaurant.I had a terrible experience at this place. Not only was the restaurant so dirty and smelly, but I also fel discriminated against. The waitress was so rude and unhelpful.The food was INEDIBLE and not worth the poor service and discriminatory treatment. I strongly advise against eating at this place. Do not waste your money on this place.I hope the manager takes steps to address these issues and provide a welcoming environment for all customers, regardless of their ethnicity or background.I would give a rating of zero stars if it was possible.

Friendly staff, great food, and fairly quick service. The waiter was courteous enough to recommend a milder sauce for one of their spicy eggplant dishes since we had our children with us--still tasted great. I also love that theyre open really late.

Its one of those Thai places with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The service is decent and the food is delicious, with some interesting variants of widely found Thai dishes. The Kee Paw noodles were delicious, if youre an Indian or a spice tolerant person, get a medium spice variant of the entrees.The staff is really nice and friendly. I accidentally forgot my wallet at home and they accommodated me to pay alternatively.

Love this place! Great for groups, but I do recommended calling in advance to give them the heads up. Curry is on point, Thai tea is the best ratio, and the staff is very friendly. If youre lucky, youll see the cook come out. My favorites to get here is the garlic and pepper prawns, panang curry, sticky rice and their roti with ice cream. Plus, theyre open late so its perfect for a late night sit down.

Initially I was a little put off by the smell of the old building when you come in but as soon as I smelled food being served I knew we made a good choice. We ordered My Aunts Egg Rolls, BBQ Beef w Fried Rice and Lite Noodles w Chicken. Everything was “make my eyes roll” delicious. Portions and flavors were perfect. We will definitely be back! Brightly lit, very comfortable space. Had the pumpkin curry with chicken for lunch. It was tasty and even at mild spiciness, there was a pleasant warming sensation. You can order the Rice Plate which is a single serving and comes with rice for one; or you can order dishes A la cart which means they will bring them out for family style serving, and I believe the portion size is larger. Good service, food came fast, great for work day lunch.

I ordered tom yum combination noodle soup and see ewe for delivery. This is one of the few Thai restaurants that was opened late. I’m very disappointed with the soup. For spiciness level I ordered hot and it tasted as if I asked for no spice. The soup was really bland.

Not sure what people are talking about...this was probably the worst Thai food Ive ever ate (but we did order delivery so maybe they just make it differently?). We ordered a seafood clay pot and two pad thais,l. All the dishes were so bland, everything looked almost white. I have never seen such unflavored food...especially Thai food.

They have a sign on the door letting people know they were voted the best restaurant or something like that in 1996...which was over 20 years ago. I should have taken that as a warning. Im giving 2 stars only because the Panang curry wasnt bad (even though it was overly sweet) but the Pad Pet was terrible, way too salty, with a TINY amount of beef.

I used to eat at TS monthly x years when living on the Peninsula, but haven’t been there x 7 years or so until tonight, now take-out as in Covid dining.Food was always a solid “B” there x years, tonight a “D” or “F.” No taste, meat quality was HORRIBLE, that’s Thai Beef ??? There are 50 Asian restaurants within a four-block area and I picked the king of mediocrity. It was just Bland. And it was a Thai restaurant. Usually I dont have my food spiced too the hot levels that I like the first time I eat in a place so I can actually taste the food and then season it to my own liking. If youre looking for Thai food adapted for the American taste buds this is it. The service was quick but I wouldnt recommend the food. Pad thai was flavorless, never had anything taste less like pad Thai. Staff then explained its because they prepared it different to best suit American / foreign customers taste.

I got chicken pad thai, and it was surprisingly bland. There was almost no sauce- just bland rice noodles, dry chicken and plain chunks of uncooked tofu. Also got chicken yellow curry. Super salty, no onions, kind of greasy (??!) and not a hint of coconut milk flavor to be had. My husband got his favorite stand-by, and ordered it hot, number 3 out of4 heat, and it was HOT, which he liked, so if you want to burn your taste buds off, so you wont notice the blandness, youre going to be happy ☺ My husband went to pick it up, and he said the women who helped him were very nice. Also, the food was piping hot, temperature wise, which is always good. It wasnt gross, but, yeah, just bland.

We had eaten here once before, late night. The food was mediocre (Greasy). However, the waiter wasnt very friendly AT ALL. He seemed very irritated. We came back into town and decided to eat here one more time (giving it a second chance). The restaurant was closed MIDAY although the open sign was on and people were inside. We knocked on the window to ask if they would be opening any time soon and the waiter/cook got very IRRATE, screwed up his face, and flung his arms in the air. Id suppose this motion was telling us to, Go away, but I cannot be sure since he did not have the decency to come to the door. I will NEVER spend another dime at this eatery....! TERRIBLE SERVICE. Additionally, if the waiter/cook had the nerve to come to the door he would have gotten a piece of my mind. Like really? What kind of customer service are we paying for in 2018? I never write reviews but this place was terrible. I just spent $60 on the worst Thai food Ive ever had. .Tarro appetizer was just bad, Shrimp Pad thai- terrible and greasy, Tom yum soup with shrimp was inedible, vegi fried rice tasted like grease and the garlic shrimp dish was literally dripping in oil. My wife and I had a couple bites and threw it all in the garbage.When I went to order, I asked for fresh spring rolls, got a nope, then asked if they had Vegi egg rolls, another nope, then asked to have the sauce on the side for the shrimp dish, nope. So that was fun.I actually like the Thai stick on Fillmore in SF, the food is good and the place is clean, but the quality of this place is a far cry from the one in the city. I should have left when I noticed the soles of my shoes were sticking to the floor.Avoid this place and just eat your money, it will taste better.

Its Friday night and we have a well-mannered and hungry group of 8. Its 11:55pm and the restaurant advertises online and in the window that they are open until 1am, but when we walk in they unapologetically say theyre closed and turn off the open sign. Guy in charge was very rude and called me back to threaten me that I can not order from them anymore.And it seems like other yelp reviews have had the same rude experience with a guy that works here.This will be the first negative review I’ve written on yelp. The award goes the the gentleman that called me about my canceled to go order.The story:I called in to make an order for pick up at 11 pm. The lady took my order with no problem and when I asked her what the total was I noticed it was higher then Eat24 price. I asked her if ordering from online was less. She said yes. So I mentioned to her “i will order it through eat24. Please cancel my order”. And she said ok and she hung up slightly disappointed. I get a call from her at 12 midnight telling me my order was ready. I told her “no I canceled it and I decided not to order it online”. She said ok. At 12:50am I get a call from a guy who seems like a manager or at least someone in charge. He asked me if I ordered food. I told him “I did, but I canceled it before we hung up the phone” and he goes off telling me I am band from the restaurant. As I tried to calm him down so I can explain to him what happen. then he was saying the person that took the order “is not from here” that she didn’t understand. And he continued with letting me know I am not allowed to order from them again. I accepted it and told him “I cant believe you would treat customers like this”I called in to order because i thought the local business can possible keep more of the profit.I’ve been in Millbrae for over 20 years and I am a regular to this location. I can’t believe the attitude he gave me for a miss understanding. I’m glad Thai Stick has lost a long term customer over $22.

I got the pad ka prow with chicken requesting medium spiciness and got something flavorless and devoid of spice in return. While there was plenty of chicken in the dish, there was very little basil -- I couldnt taste any chicken or basil but could taste the few mushrooms in the dish. After having perhaps half a serving, I couldnt make myself finish it despite being quite hungry.

Pros: Open till late at night (one of the very few such places in Millbrae) and food is pretty decent. Among the things we tried, I loved their clay pot (we got fish clay pot) - initially it looked very undercooked and underseasoned but it turned out to be very delicately flavored and enjoyable (esp with a slight touch of our own seasoning).Cons: The place has a pretty dull vibe (or maybe its just when its late at night). Service isnt much to speak about although although I must appreciate the elderly lady server. Its also high time that they changed their crockeries as even clean plates appear not so clean and can put you off right at the start.

Worst restaurant. This place took so long to serve us, it smells like manure as you walk in. Finally the guy lays down the plates on our table with bits and pieces of food on them, and then when brought to his attention he said thats all what we have and refused to replace the plates. Came here with a craving for Thai food and was left surprised at how delicious everything was! We ordered the egg roll, Pat Thai and cashew chicken and I was blown away at how delicious it was!The egg rolls were handmade, fresh, super crispy and the sauce to dip them in was phenomenal!The cashew chicken was delicious! The flavours of the tamarind and palm sugar shown through and complemented the dish so well. Even found out by the owner that all of their sauces are homemade and each order is made right then and there! Fresh!The Pat Thai was fantastic as well! Not like Pad Thai you get at other places. It was not overloaded with sugar, it was light and delicious!We met the owner who told us the place has been there for approx 33 years and the love for cooking and bringing authentic Thai food to everyone was their purpose. It made the dishes even better knowing it was made by someone passionate about cooking!If we were staying in San Francisco for longer I would go again and again! I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a non-fast food type Thai food and more traditional and made with so much love and passion!
