Thai Table in Berkeley

Vibrant place with great tasting food! I think they are a little understaffed but the waiters are friendly. Our first app came out cold on the inside and they fixed that for us quickly. Entrees can be on the spicy side but flavors are good.

I absolutely LOVED the ambiance both inside outside. They had bright red and yellow tables with paper lanterns above, flowers around, and a heater. Inside, they had pink floral wallpaper, pretty plates, Thai themed tablecloth and pretty neon lights. The food was just as good, amazing vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered the roti with curry and peanut sauce, vegetable pad Thai, pad see ew with tofu, and Thai iced tea. There’s so much more that I wanted to try, but will save it for next time. Service was also great.

Staff are very kind and attentive and its a very pretty restaurant.My gf and I shared the roti w yellow curry sauce and chicken tom kha that was labelled vegan, it wasn’t vegan. I think we were meant to ask for the vegan option but I wish it was more clear on the menu if thats the case, we had assumed it’d be fake chicken. We ate it anyway & it was pretty good. I liked the roti and yellow curry sauce better. The coconut thai tea was so very good.

The staff here was VERY rude. I reserved a table for 2 around 45 minutes before our arrival time. I could sense some amount of rudeness while reserving the table, but decided to give it a shot anyway.When we reached, we had asked for a different table than what we were offered, and the response we got was “Take it or leave it”. We were shocked. We had valid reasons for our request.a. There were insects on the table we were offered.b. It was right next to the restroomc. The “meat cutting” room was literally next to us (no doubt there were insects on our table!)It was not about the fact that we were not offered the table of our choice, it was how the server reacted to us. After looking at the shock on our face, she did offer us a different table, but even after that, it wasn’t a pleasant experience overall.Food was average overall, but given the experience we had, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

TLDR:Food was average, not really worth the price. The restaurant is cramped with too many tables in very little space. It almost feels like you will surely bump into the people sitting next to your table when getting up.Long story:The service:The waiter was extremely rude and was the least concerned about the problems. We called around 45 minutes to half an hour before we arrived there to check if they had empty tables for two and we were given an appointment.We were made to sit on a table for two near the aisle that leads to the freezer room and the washrooms. The door on the other end was left open and cold air was coming it. It was very uncomfortable to sit. There was a fly that we had to keep waving off and we told the waiter about our concern. She responded with a take it or leave it attitude without informing us of the seat or its position over the phone. In addition, when we said that we had to swat out the fly, she said “There are no insects here!!!!!”. As though she could count the number of insects in the room or prove that there were no insects.When we asked for spoons to have our yellow curry, she brought us soup spoons and then when we asked her to bring us regular spoons, she gave a weird look.We had to repeatedly ask to be switched to other tables that were empty and were told to wait for atleast 15 mins because the people had booked in advance like a day before.This tops the list of the worst service I’ve ever gotten in a restaurant in the US and ruined the experience for me.I would never come here again. There are so many options in this area and it is not worth the wait or reservations of any kind, going by the pathetic service. I would give negative stars if I could.Food:The yellow curry was totally bland and the gra pow was average at best. The pad thai has fish sauce and looked appetizing, however we could not have it.

Excellent Thai food, especially Nam Khao lettuce wrap and Crab cake.Perhaps the best Thai food outside of Thailand.Nice, colorful interiors is an extra point .

Quite literally the best Thai food I have had in the east bay. Very fresh ingredients, great flavors, great portions, affordable, super friendly-attentive staff and truly a fine presentation. Also love that they have tons of vegan options that are well labeled! And I have to mention that I feel like they use less oil and/or a higher quality oil than most places I go, so I just feel better after.I have eaten at over 10+ different Thai spots in the bay looking for the best all around and after finding it now will fill my Thai cravings here every time even though it’s a bit far from me. Thanks for the amazing grub and experience Thai Table.

We ate at Thai Table during a recent trip to see family and it was good. A little different from the way I have seen Thai food prepared in my experience, but the ingredients were fresh and the decor was colorful and decorative! There are lots of Thai restaurants in Berkeley to choose from, and I dont know enough about them to say which is the best. But Thai Table was tasty, suitable enough and we left full and satisfied.

Everyone here is in such a great mood and so nice! The food is DELICIOUS. So fresh! Great quality and authentic as well. My nephew and his family are from Thailand, so I know a thing or two about food being cooked by actual Thai people.Again, a vey happy place/restaurant.
