The food was absolutely phenomenal, every single bite was so delicious. We loved the fried mushrooms, the butter chicken flat bread and Korean style bbq brisket. The service was great, Chris took well care of us. The atmosphere and the views are just amazing. The Cocktails however are next level, the depth in flavors are crazy good and must try!

Amazing location, great food and great ambience. Went for a 12pm lunch date with family and it was perfect. Try getting a patio setting given it overlooks the golf course and the Monterey bay. Great veggie options . Do try the fire roasted beets, beet risotto, crispy Falafel bites and cauliflower shawarma. Can improve the service however. Had to wait to get the dessert menu and also wait for glasses of water to be refilled.

The food was excellent, the view was spectacular, but the wait time for food was ridiculous. We waited more than an hour from when our starters came out to when we received our main courses. The starters came out in reasonable time and then we waited and waited and waited. We waited so long, we finally asked to take our food to go. The food was great when we ate it, but we had to wait a long time. We didnt get an explanation for why the food took so long.

This is definitely a five star restaurant. A beautiful view of the ocean is just not comparable with anything else! Every time I want to sit indoor, I just cannot convince myself losing that outdoor view! It’s right in front of a golf course and if you’re lucky you might see some fun golfing (if there is such a thing 🤪). It could get a bit windy and chilly tho, but totally worth it.This is one my favorite places when I go to Monterey.The food is great. The mushroom fries is so good, make sure to try it. I like their salad and steak too. And the burger is just yum!The customer service is great, very friendly people.

My parents live nearby and have been coming here for years. Collectively we’ve probably spent tens of thousands of dollars here, because we enjoy the food so much.However something is up with the hostesses at the front. You have the option to sit inside, outside at communal fire pit, or outside at a private table. The wait times for each of these are different, however they do not accurately quote you nor do they respect your choice.I waited 40 minutes (as quoted) for a private table, just to be walked to the communal fire pit. When I asked if I could instead sit at the private table I had requested, they told me that would only be possible if I waited until 9:30 PM.. this was at like 6 pm???It really does not make you feel valued as a customer. I understand that wait times vary and maybe people are taking a while looking at the view but this has happened repeatedly. Baiting and switching me to shut me up is not the vibe! I had to sit at a fire pit for multiple courses while some couple is sitting there just having a coffee and dessert at the table… does not make senseWhile I adore the food and the view, it leaves me feeling frustrated when I come here!

My recent visit to Bench restaurant left much to be desired. From start to finish, the service was unwelcoming. Both the bar staff and servers lacked hospitality. Our server barely checked on us, never inquiring about our meal’s quality or if we needed anything else. To top it off, they failed to offer a dessert menu and, when requested, brought desserts without utensils.We constantly had to request water, with the server providing only two glasses for a group of five. Shockingly, a 20% tip was automatically charged despite the lackluster service.Moreover, the restaurant’s seating policy seemed inconsistent. Initially citing ‘safety’ reasons, they claimed our party of eight couldn’t sit together, yet later revealed a table for eight, labeling it as ‘reserved.’ This discrepancy in their messaging was perplexing.Overall, the experience at Bench was disappointing due to poor service, misleading policies, and an unsatisfactory level of attention to customers’ needs.

This place is amazing. I made a reservation online. When I got there, it was only a 10mim wait, but you are allowed to sit at the bar and order drinks while you wait. The restaurant is very nice. We parked our car nearby in one of the hotel spots. Valet is available. After sitting down at the window, you have an amazing view of the ocean. It was raining the day we went so the outdoor patio was closed. The server gave great service. The food is great. The duck fat potatoes were great along with their burgers. I also ordered the roasted strawberries for dessert. Also, try the house made soup. That alone is my signature. They serve a good selection of wine and beer.

Beautiful location with surprisingly amazing food at fair prices (which is pretty rare in SF). Dont sleep on the lava cake and I highly recommend their fish burger. You can just walk in without playing golf, no worries!

This restuarant has the most beautiful view. We were seating right in the front dining room and you can see the beach front and the waves hitting the cliffs. Absolutely breathtaking. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Our whole table got the bolognese. It was very yummy and filling! I also really enjoyed the sweet tea. They serve it with lavender simple syrup. I also highly reccomend the bread balloon as an appetizer, so tasty!

The Bench is a great place to stop by if youre in Pebble Beach. Its in a beautiful location. They have a beautiful bar and covered patio. Its especially nice in the evenings around sunset. If youre looking for a romantic dinner spot, this place is great. Calling in advance is recommended, I wouldnt try walking in without a reservation.The food is great quality. Everything is cooked well and beautifully presented. It isnt the best meal of your life but everything tastes very good. Some of the most popular dishes include the balloon bread and fire roasted shrimp. I also like the beet salad, bolognese, clams.

Very nice, once-in-a-lifetime experience eating here. The views are some of the best on the 17 mile drive. And, oh yes, its PEBBLE BEACH. You dont have to be golfing to eat there. Yes, its expensive $$$$, Saw I could afford the crab salid for lunch. Not a lot of crab in it. But the atmosphere made it worth the high prices.

As golfers, my husband and I were really looking forward to visiting to Pebble Beach and chose the Bench as our lunch spot. We made our decision based on the restaurants location overlooking the 18 hole of Pebble Beach.The restaurant itself has a gorgeous vibe, inside is bright and airy with a huge bar and outside is a cool patio with lounge chairs all centered around fire pits. The staff was so chill, not what we were expecting, but pleasantly surprised. Give them your entrance fee receipt and they will refund you the $10. It is super busy, even for lunch, so make the reservations. The food was impressive and very tasty! Recommend the personal pizza.The highlight of this restaurant is that you can walk on the cart path along the 18 hole after you eat (or before it doesn’t matter). This was a dream come true as a golfer. Definitely recommend The Bench when you visit Pebble Beach!

Breathtaking view of the 18th hole. Great service. Pizza flatbread was excellent.Scallops came on a spicy succotash and corn pudding. Wonderful way to enjoy watching people playing golf on 18th hole. My husband plays a bit, so for him it was quite interesting to watch quality golf players. We sat outside at the fire tables. It was chilly, so our waiter gave us warm blankets. Fire also was very warm. Menu was longer than displayed outside of the restaurant. At first we just wanted to get drinks with pizza, after looking at the menu, we settled there for a full dinner. My salmon was just amazing, with crispy edge, with very flavorful broth. Steak was also great. All dishes had good presentation. Dessert was a bit too sweet, I was counting calories and how many planks this sweet treat will cost me. Overall wonderful time at the special location.

Great food and great service. My family of 8 came for lunch and were seated almost immediately. The servers were extremely forthcoming and helpful with menu items. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting with a small or large group. The chicken sandwich was delicious as well. Be adventurous and grab a Delirium Tremens Belgian Strong Ale!

Had lunch at the Bench after having walked around pebble beach and had a great experience. Food and ambience were excellent. I had the Asian inspired smoked brisket sandwich and I was speechless most of my meal. It’s also not polite to eat and talk so that’s one of the reasons. Server was kind but seemed a bit distracted or busy. But the wine/beer/cocktail list were really fun. It’s pricey, but just like the Stillwater grill above, you are paying for some of the best views on earth. It is definitely worth trying out if you are on 17 mile drive!!!

Whether one golfs or not, a stop at this place, the 18th hole of the Pebble Beach Golf Course, is a must. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and the views of the course and overall Pebble Beach cant be beat. Likewise, the staff is friendly and attentive which makes for a perfect experience. We had the arugula salad and mushroom flatbread pizza. Both were delicious, especially after a long day of sightseeing.Reservations are recommended, but they do accommodate walk ins. We shared a communal table which, at first, seemed awkward, but the other couple whom we shared it with, left shortly thereafter. The tables/seating areas are quite large which allows for enough spacing where it still feels like youre having a private dining experience while in a communal setting.Feel free to walk out to the 18th hole for that perfect picture.

Awesome experience to cherish for lifetime. Such a serene place it is especially the sitting outside across bay. Being vegetarian we werent sure of finding good veg options so we were bit skeptical but we found plenty of good options and food is of top class. We ordered GreenMachine pizza which was one of the best pizza I have ever had. Desserts and drinks were also too good.

This is by far the most beautiful restaurant I have been in Bay Area. This place is located on the Pebble beach near 17 mile drive. It is a perfect combination of both delicious food and mesmerizing ambience. The view of the golf course followed by the beach and then the ocean is just exquisite. Regarding food, each variety was made meticulously and tasted heavenly. We had Spicy Fire Roasted Shrimps and Spicy Pepperoni Flatbread. The later was quite filling. To wash it down my wife ordered a cocktail called Smashed which was fruity and refreshing. I had a glass of Halter Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon. Finally the we had a lovely dessert - Marzipan-Raspberry Crème Brulle. Our server Paul was extremely courteous and friendly. He gave us some awesome suggestions. Do visit this place on special occasions with your loved one.

This is a fabulous location for a casual dinner. The views are spectacular and there’s a great ambiance. Try the flatbreads and the shrimp as sharing platters over a cocktail and you won’t go wrong. Just make sure you get a table outside with a fire pit if you can.

Phenomenal view and friendly staff. The US Open is being set up so the view was a little worse due to the bleachers. Prices were as expected, 15 and up for appetizers, entrees were 30-50, cocktails 15, beer 8.50. We had the Korean chicken lettuce wraps to start which were pretty good, Tap Room Ale, and the Aztec cocktail (smoky and sour, really good). For entrees we had the wood grilled chicken and spicy pepperoni flatbread. The chicken was ok, cooked perfectly, sauce ok, flavor just ok. The flatbread... Well its just a thin crust pizza. You cant just call something a flatbread to make it sound fancy. No cracker crunchy base, too much sauce. Its just a wood-fired pizza, call it that. The cocktails here are inspired and unique, the food was the opposite. Given the options in the clubhouse I thought it would be better

Good food. Great service! Great location. Sitting outside by a firepit is lovely. The bench is in the lodge hotel, go left of concierge and go down those stairs (not main stairs). We arrived about 3:30-ish, and waited 15 mins in the bar area to be seated outside. Note that between 4-5pm is changing lunch to dinner menu, and so only more bar bite limited was available. :( sadness but also the reason we didnt wait long on a saturday. They are known for their flat breads (pizza?) really great. Shout out to dessert, a soft delicious something with crispy rice and sorbet, see photo, i cant remember, except amazing! Just a note on expectations, cocktails are $12 and flatbread about $16. View amazing. We shared our lounge chair firepit with another group of 3 and that was friendly. There was a lovely wedding ceremony also happening on the grass with music that day. Perfect atmosphere to slow down and enjoy food and present company.

Beautiful views when you sit outside. We were seated next to the 18th hole. We saw some amazing shots from the golfers there. The portabello fries are really good. The salad is called Sweet Gem Lettuce and is very flavorful. It is also light and crisp with really fresh ingredients. The other dish is Korean style Brisket Sandwich and has amazing flavors. The meat is extreamly tender and comes with fries.

Been a few years since I’ve been here, but I was impressed. The smoky Bloody was probably my second favorite only to 15 Romolo‘s. The other cocktail we had, Bunker Hill, was also excellent. Appetizers, Portobello Mushroom fries and Gem Lettuce salad - really good dressing - were equally excellent. For mains, had the burger - only miss step of the afternoon as it was ordered medium rare but came well all the way through - and the falafel Burger which was really surprisingly good. Will definitely be back.

Good food and service with a great view. It is on 17 mile drive which cost money to enter however the restaurant takes that cost of the bill if you show your receipt. Recommend this place for a date night or even an afternoon drink if youre in the area

This restaurant enjoys an amazing location however the hostess forgot to call us and we had to wait for so long to be seated... many tables were available but impossible to get one !After multiple requests we finally got a table. Again the hostess was so unpleasant.. the food was okay, nothing extraordinary but fine for the price.Definitely not the best restaurant for the food in Pebble.

I think we ate nearly every meal here while at the Lodge and Pebble Beach. The service was absolutely wonderful. There was seating inside and outside (with firepits at each table). The view is absolutely top notch with views of the 18th approach and green at Pebble Beach. On top of that all of the food was delicious. The burger was stellar and cooked to perfection. The flatbread we split was also very good. Every food item we saw come out of the kitchen looked great. An absolute must stop if at the Lodge.

Beautiful restaurant. Great views of the water and the golf course. We went after sunset but it would have been lovely to watch the sunset from there. I get chilly easily but the mid-table fire pit kept us warm and cozy and we were very comfortable outside. Food was delicious! Everything was very tasty. We got scallops and gnocchi, and also had their bread balloon for an appetizer and roasted strawberries for dessert. This place is fantastic, especially for a special occasion or trip. The service was great. We especially appreciated the host/manager whose name was DJ. I think everyone would enjoy it here. I would say its a little pricey (example, yummy cocktails but I think the cocktail was $15-17) but most of that cost is going towards the setting and the ambiance. I would come back.

Great views, good selection of drinks, had one appetizer that was very good. The prices were reasonable given the amazing location (20 ounce draft $11). We noticed a range of servers - ours was just business, delivering what we ordered. A neighboring server was outstanding, interacting with his customers and giving them insights to the course and local area. You can get your 17 mile drive cost of $11.75 credited here if you spend $35 (easy to do). I would say that that Sticks is a slightly better bar/restaurant. But I would highly recommend The Bench for the location.

Really unfortunate experience. We had the option of sitting at the bar or outside on the patio with a fire for dinner. It was a bit windy, but we opted to sit on the patio. It was our choice and we were forewarned it might be cold, so no issue there. We ordered a cocktail and tea and they came promptly. The soup of the day was a butter nut squash--a bit salty, but nothing to complain over. The sun was setting and it continued to get cold. We looked around as large tables that ordered at the same time as us got their food. We asked the server and she noted that there was a backlog. By the time we received our food it was dark and we were the only table left on the patio. The black cod I ordered was quite good, but the pasta my wife ordered was very salty and she couldnt eat it. They did offer to prepare something else, but it was already past 8, dark, and extremely windy. We asked for the bill and gave the server our 17-mile entrance fee to get reimbursed. Unfortunately she forgot to remove it from the bill. At this point it was late and we needed to get to our hotel. We can see why this place was so highly rated, but were unlucky to not have had a good experience. It was a shame as the golf course is world class with spectacular views.

Great spot for lunch! Beautiful views with an awesome fresh menu. We sat outside on the patio and the breeze coming off the water made it the perfect temperature. We had the bread plate and duck fat potatoes to start and they were delicious. I had the crispy falafel panzanella and house-made soup (butternut squash with coconut milk and lime). Both were outstanding. The panzanella was more acid-vinegar based with a lot of cilantro and I loved it. Super bright flavors and the falafel bread smoothed it out. The soup was so delicious. 4 people at our table got it! They put cilantro in this too but if youre not a fan you can omit. Id love to come back when the view isnt blocked by the stands theyre erecting for the tournament next week. It was a great experience!

Servcie is excellent, food is good . Last time I was there with a few friends, one of the waiters dropped a slice of pizza on the his way to put it to go for us, he ordered a fresh new personal pizza for us to take to go! So sweet ! Beautiful ocean and golf view if you wait for the table outside, unbelievable dining experience !

Awesome food! We ordered 2 appetizers - Roasted Corn and Falafel Salad. Complete taste in each bite. The location and view is great too but Ill go back for food!

Love the placem the service and the food. You might feel a bit intimidated by the rich atmosphere and decoration but dont. Servers are very nice and friendly, nature is nice and friendly too. I went there with my Polish friend, we had a wonderful time. We didnt order much, we were already full. I ordered Falafel plate, and those who knows me, I am very picky about my Falafel, it was awesome, totally worth it. My friend ordered cauliflower burger I think, it came like a Pha dish, delicious broth with some wheat and a huge cut of cauliflower. I honestly was wishing my friend would order Spanish Paella (vegetarian version), but there will be next time for sure. Go there, but you need to reserve (if you do, the 17 Miles drive is free!).

Subpar customer service. Outdoor patio has been closed due to nonstop rain but the weather literally just cleared up. When asked to sit outside, I was told no. Only the patrons who had a reservation for inside could sit outside. Patio was wide open keep in mind. When asked if I could just sit at a table and order a drink at the bar, I was told I’d be kicked out. Seems pretty biased to not even allow a paying hotel guest sit outside on a patio that was 5% occupied.

Iconic view of 18 green at Pebble. Not cheap. Good food. Decent service. Wait for an outside fire pit seat if its a nice day, otherwise inside is fine. Enjoy!

For the love of all things food, please eat here. Particularly, eat the appetizers, splurge on the desserts and drink the drinks. As a local who seeks out the best places to eat in our county, the list of where to eat well is not as big as youd think, but The Bench is on that list. Anything worth eating comes with an above average price tag, but once your belly is full here, you wont be worried about the check... because youll know it was well worth it.

This is a great addition to the lodge. The food was delicious. We stared with a flatbread and the spicy shrimp. Then shared the gnocchis, pork chop and scallops. I am not a big scallop person and loved each bite. We finished off our meal with the s’mores skillet and it was a great ending to a delicious meal.

I’ve never seen of heard of anything as stupid as making customers with reservations wait for 15 minutes when they showed up for the reserved time. It’s like Jerry Seinfeld episode - “they (The Bench) can take reservations, they just can’t keep reservations”.We visit this restaurant three - four times per month, supported them during the covid time and continue being their loyal customers . I guess this is the end of it. They implemented this new post-covid policy to keep the table empty for 15 minutes to “let waiter go catch up on other tables orders” .So you would show up for your time and they would keep you in hallway waiting until the table “rests” for 15 minutes. Understaffed ? Perhaps.I literally had my 80 years old mother parked and sit on her walker in front of the hostess desk . No reaction . Zero emotions . Next people came with kids and couldn’t sit at the bar with kids and were confused and lost why they need to wait. Zero customer relations.SO, the least you can do - save your time and show up 15 minutes past your reservations time. They do NOT care about their customers as they have leading sales in the region (quote from employee) ….Food is ok, limited choices, overrated. View is beautiful .
