The Buzz Sushi in Santa Cruz

Great food and service!! Both rolls we got were really good! They were also nice about making some accommodations with ingredients. Can tell they take pride in their sushi and I respect it! Great experience would come again!

Fabulous vegan sushi! The employee at the counter welcomed us and took our order. And then the food started rolling! We enjoyed a veggie gyoza and cucumber salad to share, the had the Cuerno de Chivo and Rainbow Goblin rolls. Fabulous. I really didnt realize at first that everything was vegan. Delicious! Fun, funky vibe with an amazing amount of seating for such a compact restaurant. Fun stop!

Holy Moly! We absolutley love it! We search something for dinner. Found this place with good reviews. So we try... Traditional but also much new variations! (and tons of vegan options) You should try the buzzrito - very tasty (they made it mild for me) Thank you guys!

Although the location is a bit small, this place delivers! Mellow music is playing in the background, the seating layout is inviting and the menu has a unique selection of vegan, gluten-free and original sushi. I had the Yellowtail w/ green onion, The Twin Salmon Roll and the Missing Piece. Altogether, everything was fresh, on point and delicious! I cant wait to return, most likely with some friends. I appreciate the chef and the server too, they were very helpful.

I was in town and wanted to find a good spot that was rated good. After a short stroll I came across the Buzz. It was amazing!! Fish was great, fresh, and layer out very pleasingly. The owner was personally making everything. Very fun to speak to and had some great stories to tell. You can see why his employees are happy working around him. I will make this my only Sushi place from here on out when I am in Santa Cruz.

Rice texture was horrible, and seaweed was stringy. Though the menu is interesting, the food was prepared incorrectly. Tasted like they mix tools handling fish & vegan rolls

Wow, incredible vegan sushi selection. Well made, fresh and delicious. A great addition to the Santa Cruz vegan scene and also regular sushi so it’s good for everyone.

We discovered it by accident and trust me we did not expect the Vegetarian sushi options they had! My wife who is vegetarian has never tried sushi before and this place made it possible for her to enjoy what she missed for so many years. Also they accommodated special requests for her. Can’t wait to go back next time we visit Santa Cruz.

I ordered a sushi roll and each piece was inconsistent to the rest in terms of the amount of each type of food in each bite. The portions were also extremely small for the price, I spent a total of 30$ worth of only food and it was not fulfilling for a meal. The seating was also cramped and uncomfortable. Would not recommend.
