First time trying out this spot in Manteca and we didnt even know it existed! Our bill came out to about $120-130 but for the amount of food and the satisfaction it was well worth it! My husband ordered a bucket (forgot what #) but he enjoyed it and got the trifecta sauce with it which was amazing! He had crab, shrimp, mussels, potatoes, corn and mushrooms. We also ordered the garlic noodles, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and the chicken tenders with fries and let me tell you that none were disappointing. I love garlic and the noodles might seem simple but they are full of flavor! Wings were pretty amazing too which I wasnt expecting since its a seafood place but they were meaty and crispy. Mozzarella sticks (came with like 8) were bomb super cheesy and marinara sauce was good. Chicken tenders basket was a good size for our two little ones and was also really good. Everything came out at a reasonable time and everything was super hot and fresh. Definitely a place to try out and the girl that helped us was friendly and kept checking back on us so for sure we will be going back. Great food and service!!

My fiancé and I have been here twice now. The first time was after me getting an oil change we decided to try because we were hungry. We just returned for the second time and the waitress remembered my water with no ice order. I thought that was really sweet and show they pay attention to their customers. I got the gumbo fries. Their food comes out extremely fast and HOT!!!!! I think everyone should come try this place.

I was so disappointed in the service today. We waited like about 20 minutes of repeatedly being walked past when our table was right in front of the register no greet or drinks taken, then after about 25 min the server walks up to a table that came in 15 min after us to get their order after we had been waiting 25 minutes. I have enjoyed coming to the Cajun spot in the past and have had much better service, I really hope the next time me and my husband decide to go that the service will be much better than today.

Ive heard about it, I really wanted to like it. Very pricey for what you get. Garlic noodles had very little flavor. Wings were more than $2 a piece. Crab was average. Shrimp was overcooked and almost no flavor. Very disappointing.

Nowadays, it is very rare to receive great customer service along with amazing food, but that is exactly what Big Nene’s Cajun Spot provided.I had the pleasure of ordering from this establishment 6/18/23. The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered gumbo, deep-fried lobster, mac & cheese, yams, peach cobbler, and a strawberry lemonade. Everything was fresh and well presented! My family and I will definitely be back, and I recommend a visit to to this establishment. Kudos to the chef.

Id give 4 stars because the meats were amazing, however I dont think Nene knows how her menu looks online because she wanted to argue me down on how she serves her plates. Then she denied the lobster as 1 of the meats which online states its available as a choice. The corn was Cajun but I assume she meant the corn had some Cajun type sauce on it because it wasnt Cajun. But again the meat was delicious & as she so proudly stated, she hooked us up. Sadly I live too far to make her place a go to spot & my friend who lives there dont like nothing thats not mayonnaise & white bread, except me. But I do recommend it because it was tasty, just dont try to show Big Nene what her inaccurate online menu says because Big Nene will cuss you tf out 🤦🏽‍♀️

This place is dirty - You can tell when you walk in the place needs to be scrubbed down I fear what the kitchen was like.Place was empty during lunch rush. Prices are insanity but the food is good. If you want a 100+ dollar lunch this is the place for you.2.75 price for a soda. Staff seemed to care about looking at her phone then what was going on in the restaurant.She could have been cleaning all the dust / slime from the napkin dispensers. She took one look at me and kept asking me if I knew what the prices were, which is funny because I make more in a week then she makes in month but I dress like a bum just for this outcome.I know this place is going for that down home Cajun southern restaurant and the place serves food that makes a giant mess when you are eating it but this means to me that you should be even more on the job of cleaning the place.Took a few days to think about if I would ever go back? I would if they retooled the place, one thing as a new customer the menu is confusing they dont have a like a simple to order lunch menu. I think they should target a 15-20 dollar price point and re design the place so they can generate more interest, and clean the entire thing and keep it clean.They have buckets but the options were not that appealing and over priced.

The time before this one I ordered all the sauces combined miles and it was very flavorful but this time I decided to go with the lemon pepper seasoning only and it extra seasoning and I swear all I taste it was butter. No salt no pepper no lemon no garlic nothing. Quality of the seafood is very fresh and they still will receive my business, but I will just opt for all seasonings together from now on..

Forgot my mushrooms and mussels. This place has really gone downhill. For how much everything was, I was so disappointed. Should have just went to Stockton. Never waste my money there again.

I left very impressed! Not only is the food excellent, but the bathroom was clean in the middle of the day, which means the kitchen is probably also clean. What a find. I would normally go to Sacramento to get food like this but now I have found a good spot closer to my home town. I get the Gumbo all the time and it has gotten better coming out of the 2020 pandemic. Only thing I would change this last time around would be more juice and sauce with less rice. Decent for the Valley. Clams werent purged well so everyone in our bag-o-seafood (yes it comes in a bag) still had some sand in them. Flavors were good though and service was decent. Pretty pricey but seafood was decent quality so I expected that. Overall it was good but doesnt compare to non chain bay area fare. So if your in the valley and have a craving Cajun style seafood this is a good choice if you cant escape to the bay.

My first experience here was not pleasant. That being said, if you want to eat here you must arrive at the latest 2 hours before closing. If its busy they will stop taking customers in an hour before closing. There is limited seating, if its busy guaranteed there will be a wait time of 20 to 30 minutes. Other than that the seafood was good. The portions are smaller than average when you order fried food. The seating isnt the most comfortable. Unfortunately my boyfriend & I (both of us have social anxiety) were seated in the only 2 top table between 2 other tables in the middle of the whole restaurant. For a local spot its a good option. I suggest calling ahead to ask about wait time & reservations. 🦀🌶🦐

NOT THE SAME*Long time customer.*My fiancee and I have been going there for years and the Food Used to be WAY better and slightly bigger quantity. The quantity cut makes sense cause the economy and prices of materials are changing.BUT the food went downhill, especially the fried rice which was my favorite and i always got it with the garlic noodles. The flavor of the rice changed and almost a third of the container stays empty. Its not as flavorful as before and would say kinda dull. It was like this the past Eight-ish times I ordered it through out the past two years.We just recently ordered food from there and still the same issue with the rice, but now the Crawfish looked like it wasnt rinsed off before it was cooked and the seasoning was very low. I would say the only thing that is saving this with 3 Stars is the costumer service. There is a Lady that works there since my fiancee and I been going there and she is very friendly and helpful. The flavors were amazing. The potato was one of my favorites, corn was sweet, clams were good, sausage was really good. The crablegs however were the smallest crab legs that I have ever paid for or laid eyes on -tiny. At the prices we paid you would expect decent meat on the feature items that you are paying for. The garlic noodles also were delicious.? We will not be returning anytime soon.

The worst service I have ever received in any restaurant in Manteca. I had to wait 45 minutes to receive my food, After being told 20 minutes. I went with the family to eat some sea food. We all decided we would never come back to that place. The garlic bread is soggy, the shrimp is bland and it was overall disgusting. The only good flavors came into their ranch (10/10 reccomend) the service wasnt great either. The employees act like angsty teens who dont care about their jobs and want to make a bit of cash. There were a few exceptions though. The cost was almost 300 dollars which is ridiculous! We will never go to their place ever! Even if it was the only restaurant available for the day. Our home cooked food tastes alot better.

The restaurant was something to be desired. The decoration looked like it was a last minute thought. It would be great if restaurants would decorate with more then T.V.s everywhere. The staff was nice. We ordered a couple different buckets and it wasnt bad. The corn was over done and for frozen crawfish it wasnt bad. They serve salt and pepper in a plastic 1oz container with about 1/4teaspoon of each which to me seems to be a waste of plastic.

The first time eating her with my husband, son, daughter in law and 2 granddaughters. We arrived just in time because a long line followed us. The young ladies at the registers were friendly a d helpful. The had to multi-task: taking orders, cleaning tables, delivering the orders to the tables and delivering pick up orders to the window.I ordered my bag with crab shrimp sausage and corn in a mild Trifecta sauce with rice. I like SPICY but mild had a spice to it and this bag was delicious. Yes it was pricey. Oh and dont forget to shake a d swirl your bag to get all the spices!We did have to wait a bit to have the table cleaned but there was a line so I did not have a problem and they got to it as soon as the line allowed. We waited for our and I cant imagine good cajun food not taking time to soak up seasoning.I read reviews and it seems this establishment must read them as well. I did not see a y sign of the negative comments posted in previous reviews. We were checked several times as well as the other patrons. I do not form opinions based on someone elses however the reviews prepared me to have my own gloves, bibs, etc. at our table. Food was great and we really enjoyed the bucket dish that we bought. It was $42.00 and included 1lb of crab legs, 1/2 kb clams or crawfish - you choose and 1/2 lb of shrimp and they were big shrimp. Also you get potatoes and corn on the cob as well. Overall is was delicious and the waitress did a great job as well. I recommend you use the free gloves they give you because it is messy. Will be going back.

Gumbo fries were good. The seafood was dry and overcooked. The potato salad recipe has changed and is now spicy. The iced tea was like water. The most disappointing thing was the service. It wasnt that busy, but the service was incredibly slow... because of the kitchen. We did not receive our orders at the same time. In fact, it took quite a while for food to come out.

So I spent over $100 on 2 bags. The liquid or juice in the bag is nothing but grease. The food wasn’t seasoned. I said no mushrooms on one order and it still came with mushrooms even after I asked the man if he was sure it had no mushrooms. I got dungeness crabs in the other and they gave me broken up pieces of little crabs. I couldn’t enjoy it because the pieces were so small. Very disappointed with the manager on how he handled my complaint. We always order the trifecta, spicy. This was the first time there was no heat to the flavor, no sweating, no crying on how hot your mouth was. I asked the waiter if he could bring more sauce that was spicy. He came out with a cup of old bay. I spent $86.00 on no flavor crawfish, shrimp and crab. Not one tasted spicy. Also, the noodles were over cooked and lacked the garlic taste. We were so disappointed with the food, the service, we will never go back. Its worth the hour drive to the Firehouse, in Sacramento. When I advise to the manager the lack of heat, he stated, he just got back from lunch and would speak to the cook on what was going on. He came back 10 mins later, never spoke to me regarding the issue. The waitress took down my number to have someone call, still waiting on that call.

The seafood was tasty. I ordered bucket #2 which had half lb crawfish and shrimp. I was given 7 crawfish and 8 shrimp. I was cheated my half lb of each. I was asked did I want headless or head on shrimp. I chose, headless. When I received my bill, I was charged additional #3 for headless shrimp. I would have not had no problem with head on shrimp, if Ive known the choice came with a price. But thats my fault because when she gave the choice, I should have said is there a price difference. Will I eat there, again. I dont know. To be cheated from the advertising portion at the price I payed isnt cool at all.

Very disappointed that they no longer allow you to substitute the crawfish in their buckets anymore. I enjoy being able to enjoy my bucket the way I want to it. Especially when I would substitute it with a lesser item. Hopefully theyll reconsider their change, back to allow their customers to decide how they would enjoy their experience.

Ive been here 4-5 times. Im a fan of the larger chains and been to a number of Cajun seafood by-the-pound places in the Bay area. Always order shrimp in the bag (so dont know about crab or crawfish)Pros:Food is really good, always fresh. Deep fried items taste like they are from clean oil, in large or separate deep fryer (fries dont taste like fish, and definitely not losing temp by throwing them into friers too small).Love the number of sides and theyre all good. Garlic noodles are a must. Best sweet potato fries I think Ive ever had. Consistently crispier than others. But love the other flavors of fries as well (had Cajun and lemon pepper). Love corn in the bag.Fish and chips are great as well. Again, deep fried food is well done here and I think it is the fryer situation. Good stuff.Cons:Service can be somewhat lacking (not rude just a bit slow/inattentive).The sauce on the seafood is not quite as good as some other places Ive been. Just not as complex/addicting.Im not one to critique environment, but if you care its pretty boring inside.No real complaints but could do their game a bit to get that 5/5. Waited 30 minutes for a table. Staff never came up to us to offer a chair or suggest possible wait time. Then when a table became available, they gave it to a couple that had come in 10 minutes after we had. Staff looked overwhelmed and inexperienced. When I approached and asked an employee why the gave the available table to the customers that came in after us, he said I dont know, they said they came in first. The manager was sitting at the bar, obviously drunk and started making excuses. We had to leave before being served as they had no regard for us or any kind of professional customer service.

I believe I will equate the previous service issue to going at a busier time of the month. On my 2nd visit, everything was smooth sailing. We ordered the buckets number 2 that came with crawfish shrimp and snow crab legs. We also got clams on the side. We got the trifecta which included lemon garlic and cajun spices. We also ordered the bucket spicy which is one notch above mild and it was perfect. The clams were not gritty and in fact they were so good they were falling off of the shell. It was ok. I had crawfish. They use the right spices but they boil in a bag instead of an open pot. The difference is when you boil in a bag the spice doesnt infuse through the product because it isnt being permeated by the water. It also leaves the product dry as the moisture in the product is released into the air in the bag. The fries were good but I didnt go for the fries. Service was good. If you would get rid of the bags and switch to an open boil, I think youd be too notch.

Amazingly tasty, even more amazingly messy! I wouldnt recommend coming here super dressed up because your clothes can get grease/red sauce stained, although Ive seen people do it before. I recommend the half pound of shrimp with the trifecta sauce and adding in sausage to the mix; also, the okra and sweet potatoe fries appetizers are worth mentioning. Most everything is surprisingly affordable seeing as its all seafood; for about $14 or $15 you could get the shrimp I just mentioned, and honestly its very satisfying and filling.

Food wasnt bad, I wanted the Dungeness crab but they were out. Settled for shrimp once the sauce dripped off the shrimp while you tried to peel it not very flavorful but the shrimp were a good portion, afterall you payed for the portion18.99 per pound. Mom shared shrimp and ordered gumbo over rice but I dont think the price warrented serving in a small styrafoam cup with the the cheapest small plastic spoon to try and eat it with. No wet wipes, water glasses, or other plastic utensils unless you asked after flaging down the waiter. Place was clean, for a seafood place no lemon in site. Not going back would rather drive.

We drove an hour to go eat here the sign said sit where ever we waited for the table to get cleaned and sat down the lady taking orders told us we needed to move because the people behind us who walked in 5 minutes after us needed the table and then proceeded to tell me my wife and I had to wait upto and hour to an hour an a half to be able to eat. We left and ate somewhere else. Waisted time gas money and time from my life.

They try to sit you on tables that are not of YOUR choosing to MAKE THINGS EASIER FOR THE WAITRESSES. In such a small place with only 10 tables, i cant imagine how hard it must be for waitresses to remember who theyre serving. pure laziness and lack of willing to make the costumer feel as comfortable to eat at their restaurant. Even if theres only 3 tables being served, it must be SO hard to remember whos table belongs to which waitress. Service is 1 star. Food review obviously wont be determined. Will tell other locals of this experience. Word DOES get around.

THE BEST by far place to eat seafood!! fresh crab mussels lobster shrimp crawfish. They have dungeness snow and King Crab at market price by the pound. I love this place!You can add sides like potatoe corn on the crab garlic bread rice ohhh.... and my wife said dont forget the garlic noodles. They offer cajun seasoning and other different kinds. Super cool atmosphere they play oldies and friendly service. They serve beer too. You definitely need to eat here.
