Stumbled across this place while doing my laundry across the street. Late Sunday evening and it was still open for business, SO I immediately scoped out the Reviews. I was Pleasantly Surprised that this place had sooo many good reviews but was empty! we took a chance &Ordered anyways . I requested half orders bat was told NO by the only employee present.Only two of US so I was disappointed that I couldnt but Sucked it up anyways ended up paying few cents Short of $50...for food for two! ouch 🙁However . the food was really good! ordered BBQ pork fried rice chicken Chow men orange chicken egg rolls &chicken wings. Rice slightly dry do to the BBQ pork but the Chow mein was perfect. So Next time I will order the chicken fried rice too the Orange Chicken was delicious too!my only complaint is not offering smaller portions because We had so much leftover that I could still feed a small army! But other than that very good and will definitely be back!

Wow! Tried a few Chinese food places here and this one is by far the most authentic and delicious Chinese food meal I’ve had in a long time! They recommended the chicken wings as an appetizer and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious and for $10 it was a large portion of food. I had the broccoli beef here a while ago and it was OK too. The rice was a little soggy but the meat flavor and quality was great.

Believe it or not, this is the best Chinese restaurant Ive found so far in northeast Concord. One would not suspect this hole in the wall of being so. For some reason, the Chinese restaurants east if the Oakland hills are lackluster (excepting Great Wall) in Lafayette. The Chinese Kitchen is a happy exception. You will be underwhelmed by the decor. And, unfortunately, the tables are a tad sticky, and the service unenthusiastic - I suspect the owner-operators could use a good nights sleep. HOWEVER, the food is good. Their hot and sour soup is hot and sour, which is saying something, and the best Ive had in the area. The owner, Wayland, has been at the restaurant for 27 years, when he began working it with his father. This place has been a Chinese restaurant since 1953. The original owners, father and son, retired and died. The restaurant does a good deal of takeout and delivery. Wayland serves as the delivery driver.

I come here ALL the time. The owners are really sweet and they always make me a tofu dish even though it’s not on the menu. Their chow mien is super tasty and their servings are huge. Not to mention affordable! I normally get a tofu dish with chow mien and I have food for 3 days. If you’re looking for great local Chinese food, look no further.

The chow mein taste like it was cooked in a rusty pan, the shrimps taste old, the chicken taste dry. Never again. The food was overall tasteless

This plate will actually feed 2 people.. massive size portion. I have a burrito thermos that I put in my vehicle for the next time I go to this place. The food was excellent. And the service was helpful and attentive..

First time ordering here. Mixed/house fried rice- no shrimp. Mixed veggies- all broccoli, little else. Mongolian beef, not that hot even after asking for hot. Honey walnut prawns, very few walnuts but the best dish we had. Super fresh prawns and way tasty. Highly recommend that. The rest, meh.

We tried Chinese Kitchen tonight for the first time based on recommendations. We are picky about our Chinese food and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Many times we have visited restaurants that were recommended and weve been disappointed. Not here. The building isnt fancy but the food is fresh, well prepared, and flavorful (mostly). We got the salt and pepper prawns based on recommendations and they were right. They were extremely well made and were our favorite. We also got basil chicken (very spicy), green onion beef, combination vegetables (a little bland for us but very fresh), and combination chow fun. They will adjust the spicyness to your preference. Well definitely go again.

I was very happy with the food here. We ordered fried rice, steamed veggies, orange chicken, and BBQ Pork chow mein. Best orange chicken Ive ever had. Will definitely come back again.

The best Chinese food in Concord (California),... period. ❤💜❤Been a customer for more than twenty (20) years, and the food at The Chinese Kitchen restaurant Does Not ever leave me disappointed. ❤I do have my favorites on the menu, but as Ive branched out more on the menu over the years, I find myself increasingly adding more food items to my favorites list. ❤Once again, its clearly Concords best Chinese food restaurant. By far!!! 💜❤💙Its located on 3426 Clayton Road, near the El Monte Shopping Center, across the parking lot from the Clayton Furniture store.Go and give The Chinese Kitchen restaurant a try, trust me, they havent been in business (with their level of excellent Customer Satisfaction, and their local loyal Customer Support fan base) this long for no good reason. ❤

Ordered here with friends through door dash. The Walnut shrimp was so good. It was perfectly fried and had a nice sweet sauce. Not very many walnut unfortunately. It was definitely the star. The potstickers were also tasty. I wasnt to impressed with the pork fried rice or snow pea chicken. I think the sweet and sour has the right tangy flavor without being to citrusy. Id eat here again.

Amazing Food. Use to order from here all the time. But, The prices are a little to high now. I can go to a take out buffet and get about 3-5 lbs of food each for 3 people in my family and it would cost just under $50. Here, you dont get close to that and its from $75-$100. Wish the prices would come down.

Very good. I ordered BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Shrimp Chow Mein, and Kung Pao Chicken. Everything was delicious. I cant wait to go back and try something a little more complex.

I would give it a 3.5.Pros:Very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. Few Chinese food places in Concord and even less good ones.Cons:-I found the food a bit on the bland side, good if you really have to have Chinese, but I wouldnt go out of my way to come here based on the food quality.
