My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights in total over 3 occasions in May 2023.We got 3 different rooms each time and all of them were clean and well equipped but do not include a mini fridge and microwave.There is a microwave available for use in the first floor common area.The staff are pleasant and friendly.The beds were a little on the soft side but still comfortable.The second occasion when we stayed 2 nights there was no housekeeping but it is no issue.On our final stay for 3 nights there was housekeeping everyday, beds were made, towels replaced and rubbish cleared.Also for this occasion there was an extra $50 charge but it was reversed after a few days.To go to the city it is only a short walk to Milbrae station so it is also convenient location for public transport
Very nice hotel, super close to the airport. Possible to take nice Californian wine by the glass in the lobby.But the hotel should not recommend to use the taxi service. DO NOT USE THE TAXI SERVICE! The car was so dirty and in such poor condition that we were concerned to make it to the airport that is 5-8 min away !!! Go with an UBER instead! Recommending the taxi service is not good for the overall client experience or hotel reputation.
This is an ADORABLE place. Brand new decor with an old school feel. There are records and a player in every room. Its awesome!! Some folks complain about the motel feel, everyone LOVES IT!!
Let me say WOW! I’m putting this review everywhere! This is not what I expected to be doing, but there’s so little exceptional customer service we hear about that I had to. First, the property is very aesthetically pleasing and clean! The photos on the website are identical to what you get. Our room was a traditional double. Pay a little more and get some amenities like fridge and microwave. The rooms are very nice and the beds were the most comfortable I think I’ve ever stayed in, truly! Parking… one of the only places that is free and convenient! No car? No issue. The Millbrae BART station is not even five minutes away to walk. If you are going to the Castro area it’s about an hour, so not super close but very doable. Now let’s get to the staff. We came for Gay Pride and they were so LGBT+ friendly and welcoming. From the first phone call, they were friendly and willing to help and as someone that’s never been to San Francisco, I had a lot of questions. We needed more hangers and we were sent some within five minutes. The stand out was Maritza, our TV was not working and she came up to try and help. When she could not resolve it, she contacted the beyondTV service and connected me. WOW! The Dylan Hotel SFO was a phenomenal stay! Thank you so much! This was our first time in San Francisco and I’d absolutely stay again!
I have stayed at Dylan SFO a number of times when visiting family. They have always been helpful. Until I really needed it.On June 28, when hundreds of United flights were cancelled, I was unable to keep my reservation. I called the Dylan immediately to let them know my flight from DC was cancelled, and I couldnt get out for 2 days. Understandably, it too late to get a refund on the room, although I wanted to make sure they could release the room.As up to this point we had been communicating via text, I decided to give them a call. The person who answered the phone said they were all booked up (this way before she understood why I was calling). Interesting, I thought, since I just cancelled an hour before. I explained that that wasnt why I was calling. And while I understand I cant get a refund, would they consider giving me a credit for a future stay? They said they couldnt. I asked to speak to a manager, but they werent around, so she suggested I email them.I have since emailed twice: once the day after and once a couple of weeks later. And I havent gotten a response. Ive been very reasonable and polite and hoped they might meet me halfway. And they couldnt be bothered to reply. Its been 6+ weeks.So there you have it. Consider that is who you are dealing with and whether or not you want to support this kind of business.
The Dylan is a great hotel. Very welcoming, helpful, & friendly staff. Clean, non-smoking facility. We stayed in a comfortably furnished deluxe room. Nice touches like reusable water bottles to use during the stay & a water filling station in the lobby. I appreciated the UCSF patient discount I received as I was staying after getting treatment. I was concerned about possible noise due to being near SFO & the BART & Millbrae CalTrain station, but my concern was unfounded. The only issue was that the tv malfunctioned. The wifi was weak according to our devices, so perhaps that was part of the issue. Staff came to our room twice to try to resolve the issue, but with minimal success. We were eventually able to watch live tv, though the guide wouldnt work so we had to flip through each channel. Wed hoped to be able to use the casting feature. Overall a wonderful hotel & Ive booked another room there for next month when I get treatment at UCSF again.
Saw this and wanted to try it then due to an unexpected delay, I got to stay here. It’s been beautifully renovated and you can walk to a great restaurant (Social. right next door, it’s well run and there is ample food and drinks at reasonable prices, they don’t currently charge extra for parking. If you want to be near the airport there is no better hotel than the Dylan at SFO
Friendly staff, clean rooms with nice decor touches. Easy access (2 min walk) to Millbrae station for Bart and Cal Train services. Downside is you get a bit of train noise.
Although it is next to the airport, the sound insulation effect is very good. It is clean and tidy. Slippers and toiletries need to be collected from the customer service. There is no room
This hotel looks better in photos. The location is great, with walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. However, I wont stay there againPros:-Location-Water dispenserCons:-Room is very dark even with all the lights are on-It is renovated from a motel I believe. The room comes with a balcony but I didnt feel safe at all. Feels like people can easily climb to the balcony.-The room was pre-paid, but I found out that theres a $4.75 charge after I returned to my home country. I had to make an international call to find out that the charge is. It turns out it is some sort of fees that charged by city of Millbrae, and it was not pre-paid. I have no problem paying the fee, but the staff could have communicated it upon check in our check out.
Stayed for 2 nights in August. No issues with room or location or checkout. Charged $9.50 on credit card without explanation nor email. Emailed multiple times no response. Will be contacting credit card company to reject charge.
Wow. Really loved this place. Probably the best bed and pillows I’ve ever had in a hotel. Front desk was also super nice.
The manager is a transphobe/ homophobe. They lied and claimed that my kids destroyed a blanket which the manager tried to charge $150 for…they stole my deposit and kicked me out on the streets after taking all my money. They need a new manager!!!

The hotel does not look anything like advertised. The room I was out in which I booked through Airbnb was smelled of cigarette smoke and mold. The front door had gaps that showed light and the people above me you could hear walking around. The place overall have a creepy vibe. I would recommend looking for something else.
Such a great place.Our stay was quick, a layover between flights. The rooms was so funky and cool, great decor. The bed was AMAZING. We had our little dog and they left a dog bed, blanket, water dish and treats. So fun and such a nice touch. Well worth the price in comparisons to other airport hotels. We would definitely stay again.
I was actually really pleased with the room. It seemed like a great price for one night before an early flight from SFO. No airport shuttle but theyll order a taxi for $15 if you want. The room seemed to be newly decorated so maybe they had recently remodeled. It was really nice. No bathtub, microwave or fridge. And the room is somewhat small but really nice for 1 person for a quick stay.
This place was so fun to stay at. The ambiance of the hotel plus the rooms really made us feel cozy, comfortable, and taken care of.
Creepy hotel straight out of a Tarantino movie. They include a vinyl record player next to the TV for some reason. Sheets are clean & the shower works so there’s that.
Delightful mid century modern look. Record player in the room and a vinyl lending library. So fun! Super comfy bed. Nice outdoor seating area. Secure location in safe neighborhood. Wonderful customer service. Only a quick Lyft from SFO and we could leave our car parked at the hotel for $10 a day. Way cheaper than parking at SFO. Highly recommend this hotel!
When I tell you I was at my worst when I stayed here… I mean it. I had food poisoning and was supposed to be traveling back home, but I needed to stay an extra night in San Fran to recuperate. The Dylan gave me just what I needed. Service was excellent. The room was so clean. The extras, although I wasn’t in the realm to enjoy them, were so thoughtful. Loved that there was a Walgreeens directly across the street and some breakfast options to enjoy before checking out. The lobby is modern, artistic, and inviting. The atmosphere felt safe and well intentioned. 10/10 would recommend.

Very practical for a stop over when you arrive from SFO and have no car. You can walk to the Bart station, to food places, etc.The air conditionning /heating system was super noisy though.The staff was doing their job with the minimum of smile. I guess theyre just overwelmed. Only Pierre was the most smiling and helpful staff member.
Super location for connecting to SFO Airport. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The upgrade room has a nice touch with the record retro player & microwave. 24 reception very helpful booking a taxi at 11.30pm. If you need easy access to the airport for early/late flights a great option. The Millbrae Station at night does feel a bit unsafe.
I would give this 0 stars if I could!My mother stayed here while I was in the hospital ( about 3 mins away). She spent the night so that she could be readily available the next day.She checked in fine, but for some reason the front desk didnt put her into the system. She had not just one, but two other guests assigned to her room when she was already in it. This was early in the AM.The front desk was confused the second time and called her in the middle of the night to ask her why she was there..... They had to hunt her reservation down and all they did was apologize.No refund for the poor experience that happened twice.Clearly the staff dont know how to do their jobs and have poor customer service.There are 10 other hotels that will do a better job on El Camino and on the other side of 101 that wont waste your money and time.
The hotel is very clean, beautifully decorated and felt safe. What didn’t feel safe was the walk from the Bart Station to the hotel, especially after dark. Uber/Lyft it. I would stay there the next time I have a SFO layover. Located conveniently to stores and good food.

We stayed on the second floor, the room was very clean, staff was friendly and helpful. The decor was super cute, but the bed was way too soft and the pillow situation wasn’t any better either. With the curtains closed shut the light was still let in immediately with the sunrise. We also got a noise complaint at 8:50pm on a Sunday, we definitely weren’t being quiet, but not obnoxiously loud enough for a complaint that early, (maybe a Karen was below us). Location is good, near the airport and Bart station.
Very nice, clean and unique hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is nice as there is a Walgreens across the street and a convenient store too. Seems to be plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Hotel is secure and equipped with security cameras and locked access points for the safety of their guests. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, its very close to the airport!
This place is honestly a hidden gem. The staff was very courteous and professional and I loved that they kept me updated with emails and texts before and during my stay. The lobby is adorable and has free coffee, tea, and hot cocoa available 24/7. They have a very reasonably priced happy hour as well as cork screws available in the room if youd rather pop over across the street to the grocery store and buy your own wine.I stayed in the 2 queen bed deluxe room and it was wonderful! The beds are firm which I loved and the room was spacious and exceptionally clean. The personal balcony with privacy curtains is awesome and I wouldve definitely taken advantage of that if I wasnt staying in the middle of January.You have standard hotel noise and some rumblings from the train but nothing that kept us up at night and nothing that some ear plugs couldnt fix. The location to public transportation and downtown Millbrae is superb.
We loved The Dylan! It is the cutest hotel and the staff was amazing! And it was half the cost of most hotels in the area. The beds were super comfy and the room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The decor was fun and unique - my kids loved the record player and the complimentary reusable water bottles were a nice touch. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. And definitely check out Neals Coffee Shop across the street for breakfast - its delicious!

Perfect little spot. Nice room with a balcony. Bed was a little smaller than we are accustomed to and parking lot is first come but everything was perfect and the atmosphere of the hotel and aesthetic of it all was a nice change compared to regular hotels that just want bodies in and out of the place.
Clean room and polite staff. Felt like a safe environment. Airport “shuttle” is just the regular public bus, but the stop is quite close. Just bring cash for that. Breakfast wasn’t free at all and only fruit as option for vegan, stopped at Peter’s Cafe very short walk for something more filling. Overall good hotel for a great price in SF
Room wasnt clean. Decor is cute and dirty... Check the photos of a stained couch in the lobby. Hotel is noisy, especially on the ground floor. Located right near busy intersections. If you want to party and be loud, this is your spot.
Very nice place. If you are looking for some where to stay in San Francisco this place is for you. It is newr the airport and very cheap for the price. The property is very clean and the owner/ staff are very welcoming. The rooms are nice and tidy and smell clean aswell. We got a double king room and it comes with digital tv, a coffee machine and a very nice bathroom. We were lucky enough to get a room across from a beautiful seating area with a water fountain where you can relax. The hotel has a bar and restaurant right next door with a convenient store and walgreens right across the road. There is more stores you can check out right across the road aswell. The parking area is so handy and accessible to your rooms. It even has a elevator aswell. If you decide to stay here you wont regret it.
The hotel was very nice and clean. It was so convenient for the airport, and walking distance to many places to eat. The staff is so nice. I would stay here again. Neil’s diner was recommended for breakfast. It was a great traditional breakfast.
The place was gorgeous. We upgraded our room and there was a record player along with a balcony. Our room was near a gorgeous patio with a fountain and plants. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in while staying at a hotel. The staff were very nice and accommodating.
Well designed and though through about every small detail, surprisingly excellent rare experience, especially for near airport hotels.It was real pleasure to stay in Dylan Hotel, a lot of small perks, and carefully maintained touches making you feel special. Wine wending machine, aluminum bottles for water refill, small art pieces and design concept thought in every corner making its atmosphere. Easy connection to airport via local metro net - BART, generous and professional personal, turn this place to rare gem.
Room was super cute, had a record player with records!! Really enjoyed the size of the room and the bathroom was wonderful. Its close to the airport without being at the airport and about 30 min from San Francisco. Ill stay there again!
I was having a decent time until I got locked out the room with no wallet and I gotta catch a late night flight because the master key or my key doesnt work I spent most of my night in the lobby
There is a bus ($2.25) that goes from the airport to almost right in front of the hotel, so I got on it with ease. The shuttle bus starts at 8 am or 8:30, but I had to leave earlier, so I booked a taxi ($15). Shampoo, conditioner and soap were provided with eco-friendly products, and the water pressure was not strong but not too weak. The blanket was warm and there was a heater, so I slept well. However, since it is close to Millbrae Station and the road, I could hear the trains and cars loudly. Note to those who are sensitive to sound.
We adore the front desk lady, Joyce. She was so friendly & accommodating, gave us a roomy, quiet & very clean room. She even recommended a good Malaysian restaurant, just a short walking distance. Yummy food! Love this charming boutique hotel & will definitely recommend!!
This place looks pretty and the beds are comfy but the lighting in our room was not the best. I didnt have any interaction with the staff. All I wanted from a long day traveling was a nice warm bed. Instead someone peed off the balcony onto me. I realize that is probably not the establishments fault since we checked in after 9pm. It was simply gross and before enjoying our dinner.
Great location for early flights. One metro stop from the airport. Check-in/out very quick. Free coffee and fair prices. The area seems good and safe. Comfy bed and big rooms.
Easy check-in/out, nice rooms with a balcony. Bathroom is a bit small but clean. A little more expensive than other nearby hotels but with the free parking its worth it. Area isnt very walkable so be aware, but lots of good food nearby!
On the first day, there were no people, very comfortable, the hotel deposit was 150 knives, no breakfast, but you can buy a few small cakes and other food for 1-1.5 yuan. The interior layout and layout of the room is quite stylish. The hotel is next to [Fan Xiaoyao], and every day a bunch of people line up to eat, and it is next to the chase bank. Walking tens of meters diagonally from the intersection is a Chinese supermarket
Had a reservation and I called asking to change it. The hotel said they could not change the reservation, but when I went to check in later the hotel was sold out and my reservation was no longer in the system. They still charged me for the hotel. Furious.
I stay at the Dylan every couple of months and was very disappointed in my last stay. There was an intermittent high-pitched whining sound in my room during the day, which front desk staff thought might be related to when cleaning staff was doing the laundry. They were unable to switch me to another room because the hotel was fully booked. In addition, two of the five power outlets I tried during my stay didnt work. I have ten more upcoming nights booked at the hotel and am debating whether to cancel these reservations. Conflicted because the location is very convenient.
Upon arriving, front desk receptionist (male) was quite rude with me. It was unnecessary banter that he was doing. But the little lobby at the front is very neat, beautiful, and inviting. There’s a nice cafeteria and wine/coffee you can buy.Access from the room to the parking lot isn’t very convenient because the closest door (with the exception of the front door) does not have a doorknob on it, so you can’t get from the parking lot to the rooms with that door. You have to go further back into the parking garage.The rooms are clean and the finishing touches on the room are well-decorated. There’s down pillows and regular pillows. Coffee station and plenty of cups to use. They store extra towels, which is very convenient during my four day stay.The housekeepers were very kind, but if you get locked out, they don’t all have a key to your room. You have to find the right housecleaning lady that’s assigned to your specific room, not the floor itself.Second night of my stay, I had heard the upstairs neighbor walking heavily around. I heard sounds as if the neighbor was dropping/rolling heavy items on the floor (1a-4a). Called the front desk to ask if they could ask the neighbors to quiet down a bit to which she said “I know they’re sleeping, that’s why I didn’t go knock.” But I could still hear them making noises up there. She did not allow me to move rooms either stating that they were all “full..we are waiting for one lady to show up in the morning who might be here at 6 in the morning.” Offered nothing to help.I was very disappointed in the customer service here. It is unprofessional and they’re incapable of resolution.
The room was very nice and the checkin process was easy. I just have this comment: our GPS brought us to the back of the building. Theres an entrance, but no sign. Nobody answered the phone and we saw no evidence of a hotel. We started to drive away, and in doing so we went around the block and saw the sign. Its on South Irwin St.
I was quite surprised how nice the place is. Close to the airport via Bart or car service.
On the second day of check-in, the smell of the roof decoration on the other side of the hotel began to waft over, and it choked me to death. . . . I don’t know if I’m doing some waterproof coating. I can only stay for another 2 days because I haven’t finished the work. After all, it’s too close to the Caltrain/BART train station.
This being a very quick pitstop in SF between my transcontinental travel, I am glad to have found The Dylan- indeed a hidden gem amongst the many chain hotels near the airport.While the hotel is smaller in footprint, it packs a punch with thoughtful details. I was kept posted of pertinent information via text and they responded to my questions while I was overseas.Since I checked in late, I wasnt able to explore the surrounding area much. However, I loved the selection of wine and cocktails available for purchase at the lobby area, and I can imagine simply unwinding in the cozy space with a glass (or can) in hand.The water bottle found the room for guest to fill up and stay hydrated while exploring the neighborhood is a great idea.The Dylan will be on my list the next time round when I fly in through SFO again.
I liked this place but I wouldnt call it a hotel. Motel is more like it. Free parking and close to restaurants. I had to hold back a star for thin walls. Looks newly renovated and nicely done. Friendly staff
What makes the dylan great is that it is 1 Bart stop from SFO. The 292 also stops in front too.Beds are super comfy and staff here is great.Flip side is that it’s a motel that seriously needs a facelift. Concrete stairs are well worn, elevator that jostle, small motel rooms, no free breakfast compared to all the other motels in the same street.Room walls are thin and I can hear next door very audibly as well as Caltrains that go by. At least airplanes path is clear of this motel.
The best thing about this place was the bed.I waited for an airport shuttle that never came for an hour. I eventually took the BART. I called the front desk multiple times. Service - I felt swindled.It smelled quite unpleasant.Absolutely not worth the trek or the price.I rebooked at the Westin. Same price - worth it. Shuttle timely. Service professional. Room and hotel decent for an airport version of the Westin.
Motel near SFO that is trying a little too hard. The space is cute enough but the customer service was lacking and their room descriptions are in accurate. We booked a queen room but the bed was full (we measured). They offered an upgrade when there was no upgrade available. The rooms were simple but nothing special. Lobby is cute and it’s super close the BART/Caltrain so the convenience factor is what made the stay bearable. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.
Had a excellent experience that began with me frustrated.The friendly staff were more than generous, the room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. And the toiletries were the perfect touch. The free cup of latte in the morning was just the icing on the cake. Used Expedia for a deal.
Staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was clean. The elevator was down overnight but was fixed first thing in the morning. The only thing I found was that it can be a long walk to get in/out or to the ice machine, etc. The water bottle filler is nice. Liquor and wine options in the lobby. Very quaint. Feels like a zhushed up La Quinta.
This hotel was really really good. The design is very very beautiful, sharp, impressive, and as soon as you walk in, you get an amazing first impression. Very friendly staff, especially Anna was great. Rooms are very very good and new, theyre not the *biggest* rooms but everything is great and the beds are very comfy. Breakfast was also the best Ive had out of 5 different places. 10/10 would go again.
Anna at the front desk is awesome and super kind and helpful. The coffee and water upfront are nice. The rooms are decent but could use better painting to allow more light. The service is good. I would love it if they had a bike or two for guests to use. No exercise room was a surprise. Great location and sees candy are just around the corner, great food options and great staff, airport shuttle was nice.
We needed somewhere to stay close to the airport for our early morning flight and it suited that need perfectly. The room was small but extremely nice. Updated bathroom was welcome after a week of travel. Friendly staff. Slightly better breakfast with potatoes, eggs and sausage. Shuttle bus was there when they said it would be.
We stayed at The Dylan at SFO as a stop over for the night after our flight landed before picking up our hire car the next day. The hotel airport shuttle bus was fast and really appreciated. They arrived quickly after we phoned from the dedicated free phone and got us promptly to the hotel. Check in was fast and efficient. The room was lovely, clean with a comfortable bed. The shower was great too. Breakfast in the morning was delicious - its a basic help yourself buffet with a few hot items and lots of choice of cereals and breads etc. The highlight was the waffle machine.. There was a timed waffle maker that made you fresh waffles... Yum. Overall, this stay was exactly what we needed. Recommended :)
This place is an revamped motel and it has such great amentities you don’t even see at 5 star hotels. From the free latte machine, to the text phone number to the clean repúdranle water bottles in your room (don’t have to purchase it) and anything else you need. It’s just the little things like a wine opener, good staff, and the free reusable water bottles to use during the stay to really encourage people to not buy single use plastics. Genius. Comfortable bed, air cond, usb plugs beside the bed- it’s perfect.
I want to say first that I am a disabled 30 year old woman that uses a walker. The parking in this place is less than desirable. Only one handicapped space in main parking lot. The decor and overall design of the hotel is impeccable. The ADA accommodations and how close it is to the airport is why my friends booked it. They were flying out at 4am and I was coming back to the hotel to rest and shower and then driving back home to the valley at checkout.Well, all was good minus the irritation with parking until complaints started happening because of our “loud walking”? My friend was simply tidying up and packing to get their things ready for the flight. Mind you, I understand the time but it is a hotel near an airport and we weren’t dancing, simply walking around the room and tidying up. (I can’t do this when they leave, because I am disabled I am limited in what I can do) If just a phone call was made that would be fine. A phone call was made, a knock at the door(until we answered).., and then when I came back from the airport and asked if there was any other parking I was unaware of because I couldn’t find anything…the front desk woman mentions it yet again. I kid you not, she berated me and didn’t even want to give me the other handicapped space. I had to explain I have a placard and a midsize suv and couldn’t fit into the compact “available” spaces she was telling me about….at 4am when I just wanted to go to my room and sleep. Going on and on about the loud walking…by the way we stopped and went to sleep after the complaint. She finally gave me the code for a basement parking area with handicapped space. Then, at 9:30 am even though I told her I here I’m staying until check out someone tried to enter my room??? I’m assuming cleaning or front desk even though we had this conversation at 4am this morning. Luckily I had the padlock on but I’m here alone, sleeping.The decor is beautiful and the ambiance is wonderful. The needle on the record player is broken, one of the shower heads doesn’t work, and what I mentioned above. I don’t think the convenience was worth it in the end, unfortunately. As a young disabled woman I don’t travel much, so it was a little disappointing to have an experience like this.
All of the staff members at The Dylan are amazingly helpful and friendly, I stay here at least once a month so that I can help my friend go to her cancer treatments at UCSF. The grounds keeper/maintenance man Pierre does a wonderful job at keeping the outsides clean and kept up, he always has a cheerful smile on his face and is welcoming. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable!!!Thank you to The Dylan!!!
We stayed at the Dylan for one night after arriving into SFO late. It was easy to get to the shuttle and we didnt have to wait long and the ride from the airport to hotel was 10 minutes or less. Check in was quick and easy and we were on our way to the room. Our room was freezing when we first arrived, but we put the heat on and it quickly warmed up. Our room was super clean and tidy. The bed was a king and incredibly comfy! We were really impressed overall. The bathroom was small but it did the trick. There was a vanity just outside the bathroom with extra space to do your hair or makeup if needed (which I utilized) The free breakfast did the trick in the morning and had quite a variety of items. theres a neat little sitting area to eat breakfast in the morning and they had a movie playing on the TVs which was a bonus. Overall our stay was quick but great nonetheless. Highly recommend this hotel if you are coming/going to the airport.
Rooms are small and basic, although they have been elevated to boutique hotel status. When there was an issue, staff was dismissive and unhelpful. Had to dispute with credit card because they charged me for more days than I stayed.
For how affordable this place is, its pretty great. Its obviously an old motel, but the decor, cleanliness, and quality was frankly surprising.If you need an overnight by SFO, i highly recommend
This place is Great!!! They are friendly and have a mini bar in their office. There is plenty of stores within walking distance. S.F. is close but your still far enough away that you dont have to worry about your car getting robbed. The last few times me and my wife have gone to that area we have stayed at the Dylan and will continue to.
This hotel is simply perfect for people coming into town for the weekend or short vacation. It is close to the train station, safe walking distance day or night being that we were here New Years Eve public transportation was free after 8pm to 2am. Close to stores, downtown area and restaurants. They serve free REAL breakfast and a good selection of beverages also. Staff is amazing they really do go above and beyond. Specially Anna which really helped us out!! The room was always clean, bed was comfortable, and restrooms very nice!! My husband is very picky on restrooms he gave it 5 stars. I can honestly say this will be my choice of hotel when coming back to the Bay area. Thank you!
Loved our stay at The Dylan for NYE. I get easily creeped out by hotel rooms but this one felt very clean and updated. The record player needle was broken and someone showed up in less than 5 mins to replace it. We had a King Supreme room with balcony. It was spacious, private, comfy with a cool view of trains and planes. Loved the provided water bottles and robes for use. Highly recommend.
I was a little nervous to make a reservation after reading some of the other reviews but Im so glad I did! The rooms are super clean and comfy and the staff were extremely nice & friendly & made us feel very welcome and when we first opened the door to our room they had left us a bed and food bowl for our dog! Most places that allow pets still seem to not want you to actually bring them with you but The Dylan welcomed us! We will be back!
Very clean, lovey rooms with a modern design and accents of retro aesthetics. Staff is kind and welcoming. There are also alot of amenities that are available to purchase such as coffee mugs and reusable water bottles. The hotel is also eco-friendly!
On the 3rd day of my stay, I found out that I have to deduct up to 4 dollars in taxes every day 😐 It is unheard of to deduct it directly from the deposit. . . . Forget it, its not easy to have a motel with an elevator. I can see how interested the builder was at the beginning. I dont know if he is the current operator.
This place is fantastic. Check in was fast friendly and helpful. The rooms were recently remodeled and were very clean and modern. The wheelchair accessible room had a great bathroom and shower that was very accessible. The rooms are very quiet, I could not hear anyone other people, doors or trains. The bedding was excellent, super soft and comfortable. I loved that it was 1 block from the Millbrae Bart train station, easy to get into the station and ride it into San Francisco.
It was very clean and the staff was friendly. =)Very close to the BART station (about 2 min. walk) and its close by a lot of pretty good Asian restaurants (walkable distance), would stay there again if I am ever in the area.
Very beautiful place, nice and spacious room. Shower and bathroom very clean with lots of space to store your things. The decor of the whole hotel is beautifully done and we especially loved the fact that there is free airport transit available, even if you just go and take back your rental car - they will pick you up. Breakfast was okay - nothing special but there should be something for everyones tastes. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Wonderfully remodeled hotel close to the airport with tons of character! Rooms were neat, clean, well decorated and well laid out. Beds are very comfortable and seem to be brand new. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again!
We originally chose the hotel solely because it was walking distance to Mills Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame. The hotel appears to be a re-do of an (estimated) 1950s motel. The place is charming and rooms seem to have very individual features. We had to change rooms the following day due to prior bookings. Both rooms were clean and comfortable and VERY well appointed. Excellent coffee in room, and excellent breakfast included.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Millbrae BART Station. That in itself is a big selling point. The staff is some of the best I have ever encountered. Anna at the front desk helped me a lot with my billing/continuity issues (since it was a corporate and leisure trip combined, there was a lot of coordinating to do). The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed for a whole week and was very happy with my overall stay.

Exceeded my expectations! This hotel really tries to make everyone happy. It is very clean and surprisingly stylish. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Free breakfast included fresh fruit, baked eggs, fresh waffles, Apple cake, bagels, and much more. There is a free shuttle to SFO airport. I saw several nice restaurants within easy walking distance. The beds were comfortable and everything is very clean.
Like others said, this is a pretty nice hotel. Well thought out pleasant room setting for the money. Well maintained. Many hotels even with more money nowadays I feel the cleaning crews are not doing their job well and getting worse. But the Dylan hotel crew does it very well. What a gem. This is a remodeled Travelodge and its been redone so well. We stayed one night here after a late arrival flight into SFO. They gladly accommodated us with a free shuttle and check-in at nearly midnight.It is very clean and decorated in a tasteful modern/retro style. The coffee maker is thoughtful no waste pod-free. The rain showerhead was a welcome experience after too many low flows at other locations. We slept well in our quiet room.... No noise from the street.We met the owner, Barry, in the morning. Overall, just a relaxing place. So nice.
The room was clean, the continental breakfast was decent. The airport shuttle was complimentary so that was helpful. The only negative was that they placed us in a room that was quite far from the front desk and it had some very narrow hallways that could not accommodate the luggage cart.
Flight got in after midnight; had no problem getting a shuttle to this hotel and checking in. Theres not much around the area, but if you need a place to crash near the airport, I would highly recommend this place. Breakfast is generous with a wide assortment of foods. Room was clean, bathroom spotless with nice showers.The Bart station is only a minute walk away, making it very convenient for getting into the city.I would definitely stay here again!
Nicely updated & clean interior. Hotel clerk was a bit strange the first night but redeemed himself the next day! Room had a bit of a funny smell and carpet felt slightly sticky. Crib was set up nicely in the room as expected. Very nice hot breakfast but the eating area was tight & crowded. Overall a nice experience.The bus driver of the free shuttle expects a tip of $1 per bag.

Great experience and a very nice boutique hotel. Staff was friendly and room was nice. Rate was good for the area and was offered a room upgrade, which was nice. Didnt have to pay extra for parking, and it was right next to the BART station, which is convenient had we needed it. Lots of restaurant options nearby, mostly Asian. The front desk recommended a restaurant but it closed at 4 pm, and as it was 8 pm, wasnt much help. Wasted 20 minutes walking to find something open my family could all agree upon.
The customer service is extraordinary!! The breakfast exceeded that of fancier places. The beds are very comfortable. The proximity to bart is perfect, and the shuttle to the airport perfectly accommodating.My only complaint is that there is noise on Monday mornings, due to garbage pick-up, but thats not their fault. If you are going to try to sleep in on Monday, you might want to wear ear plugs.
Beautiful large quirky rooms. Quirky in a good way with vinyl record players and actual record to play. Cool property with nice continental breakfast and convenient shuttle to the airport. Walgreens and Starbucks across the street, as well as a Bart Train station to go to the city within a 3 minute walk. For quieter rooms, ask for the second or third floor, towards the back. Only small negative was the front desk attendant that checked our group in. Not very courteous. Past that, highly recommended
Pricey small hotel near the airport. Good service, Good rooms. They are are very focused on getting you to to and from the airport. When I said I was think of dropping off my rental now instead of the morning they handed a printed guide to dropping my rental, and picking up the shuttle. Both times I used the shuttle it arrived quick, on time, and was a pleasant experience. Its also very close to BART.
Its really more of a Motel but boutique-ish. Has been renovated. Check in was great, friendly receptionist at night shift. They have 24hr coffee and infused water at front desk. Room was clean. Upgraded bathroom. Nice small touches, like reading lights over the head rests, a portable work desk ( had to be, because of space constraints). We were there for only one night. However, I some think I could stay there for few days or a week, as there room is quite small and it would get cramped. Another plus point: free parking in SFO.
Great for the price. When we stayed, it was cheaper than Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn but had bigger rooms, more style, and free parking. Breakfast was comparable to what those chains offer. There was some road noise but it calmed down at night and the AC also helped block it. They offer a free shuttle to SFO and are just a few steps from several restaurants and the BART/CalTrain station.
The staff were courteous and very knowledgable. My room was perfect! Clean, well decorated and in the am a great breakfast that was included in the cost as well as my favorite a Latte....hope to stay here again and would recommend it to all of my friends as a nice break from the chain hotels.
The most comfortable bedding, pillows and mattress I have ever experienced at a hotel. Clean, cute, good size and excellent location for the BART and walking distance to anything in town.
The room was a bit dirty, the carpet was sticky, and the location was okay. There are many places to eat around. The sound insulation is very poor, and the voices of the next door are clearly visible. There is a coffee machine, but its dirty. General service attitude
We stayed here again during a busier weekend, it can be pretty noisy. We could hear the person above us walking around and a baby crying in the room next door all pretty clearly. If youre sensitive to noise, this may not be the one for you!

Charming rooms! I absolutely adored the 50’s vibe with a new age twist. Record player with awesome records were a nice touch. Bed was super comfy, room was extremely clean. Can’t wait to plan my next trip here!
Gorgeous interior decor. Everything was chosen for a reason. Loved the fabric and unique colors of the sheets on the bed.However, we had a terrible experience with the front desk guy at night. He was scolding us too like others mentioned. Haha. The lady the next day was friendly and warm.I had the best sleep! 11 hours of sleeping beauty time. Haha. I’m used to wearing ear plugs at hotels and playing live sleep music on YouTube. When I turned it off in the morning, I could definitely hear people walking around outside, people showering upstairs, and more. So if you are a light sleeper, definitely play some music.I do agree with others that it’s a glorified motel, especially now during Covid, because there’s no breakfast or any amenities at all. You can bring your disposable cups from the room downstairs to get coffee at the coffee machine. You can also use their reusable bottles to get water which was really cool. A great idea.One last terrible thing: we found pubic hair right when we entered on our very first night in the bathroom. 😭 I swept it away and put a towel on top of the area I found it. It was really gross.
Wow! What a gem hiding in the shadow of the train station. Super clean, very nicely decorated, comfy beds, no sound issues despite being next to the train and airport. Im surprised this was considered a 2-star hotel. The bathroom looks like something out of a spa. Plus, the staff were really nice and helpful.
Dylan is a nice priced boutique motel close to SFO. Some of the rooms need refreshed but overall its a great value. Shuttle is dependable, free breakfast is good and some great happy hour choices. Stay there when I am flying out early. Recommend!
I booked this room super late night, and last minute. When I arrived I quickly checked in, and was on my way to my room. Once I got into my room I was pleasantly surprised!!!! The room was very updated, modern, and clean!!! I enjoyed seeing the art above the bed and thought it was a cool touch. The room was not very spacious but was enough for two people. I really liked this room and would definitely be back!!!!
After finally finding it the room was comfortable the TV however be however wanted to put the remote control on your phone that function did not work all in all for the money it was a very good value
Small little hotel near the SFO airport. Good for a short stay near the airport, but lacks in many ways.No room service, only a dull, close to inedible breakfast. The lobby looks well maintained but the minute you step towards the room, the age and lack of upkeep shows.The room itself is small, non-descript. I stayed in what was supposed to be deluxe, with a microwave and fridge extra. The carpet was SO dirty and seriously sticky from probably years of gunk that has never been cleaned. I felt yicky just setting my bare feet on the carpet. Hope the hotel replaces all carpets soon - serious health hazard potentially.Go here if you want a quick place to stay close to the airport and an airport shuttle. Otherwise there are many other choices nearby.
I very much enjoyed my stay at the Dylan. This is the third hotel I have stayed at near SFO, The Westin and Bayview being the others. The Dylan is by far my favorite.The hotel and room are very cute and feel up to date and cared for. The room was clean, convenient, and quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The air conditioner is near the bed so it is easy to maintain a comfortable temperature and the unit is quiet.In the lobby you can purchase wine by the glass as well as small bottles of various spirits and snacks from the vending machine. Refillable water bottles are provided in the room and can be filled in the lobby by the ice machine.Due to COVID-19 breakfast isn’t being served and certain items have been removed from the room, no coffee/sugar/creamer for example.The only negative I found during my stay was an issue with the plumbing in the shower causing a loud noise while running the water. Parking is tight so if you have a large/long vehicle and arrive late in the day it could be an issue.For an overnight stay The Dylan is 5 stars. For multiple night stays only 4 stars as there is no microwave or refrigerator in the room.
This place is a gem. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they have brought an interior designer to the whole place. Rooms are clean. Original artwork in the rooms. Close to the airport and train. It was an awsome place to spend an overnight layover. Definitely will go back next time Im in the city.

Avoid this place like the plague unless you want the concierge breaking into your room while you sleep!All was going well until a flashlight started shining into me and my girlfriends room circa 11:30pm. After clearing identifying that my girlfriend was laying there in the bed, the individual with the flashlight then proceeded to enter the room with a key card. After announcing my presence the individual the fled. I called the front desk to inform them of what had just happened and was BAFFLED to hear from the concierge that it was him who had just answered. He said he was checking to see if the room was empty? Excuse me, you couldnt check on the computer? You couldnt knock? You couldnt tell from shining a light inside and seeing someone was laying there in bed? I emailed the hotel to inform them of what their employee admitted to doing and have yet to hear a response after 72 hours. What a joke.
Overall a great hotel. Personally I dont care for such a firm mattress, but I loved the record player. Also having 2 chairs is a plus. Would definitely stay again.

I was impressed with this hotel near the airport. It offers a free shuttle service to and from the airport, an excellent free breakfast (serve yourself), it is reasonably priced and was clean and quiet.I needed a place to stay between flights at SFO. Around 9:00pm I called for the hotel shuttle to pick me up, and it arrived about 20 minutes later. It took about 5 minutes to get to the hotel. The shuttle service is a bit odd; it runs constantly but you are also supposed to call to let them know you are waiting. I think theyre not supposed to pick you up unless you call, but I couldnt quite figure it out.The front desk was absolutely swamped when I got there, but I dont know if that is always true or just bad timing. It looked like a whole sports team was checking in or out. There was only one person working, so it took a long time to get checked in. The person there was helpful, though, letting me borrow a roll of packing tape for a package that had ripped open.The room itself was very clean and quiet. It was nicely decorated and everything looked new. The shower worked well and the bed was comfortable. I was impressed with the quality of the room given the price and proximity to the airport.The next day I managed to grab some breakfast while I waited for the shuttle. The selection was good and included a belgian waffle maker. The shuttle can take up to 20 minutes to get there past your scheduled departure, so be prepared for that.
The big selling point for this hotel is location, location, location. Its really close to SFO and they offer a shuttle to the airport every 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean. Its a little close to the road and therefore kind of loud, and the rooms are a bit old (but, like I said, clean), which are the only reason I knocked off a star. For the price and location I dont think you can do better.
This is a 0 star if there is such choice. Paid a $300 room, but the room’s bathroom lock is malfunctioning. A minor child is locked inside for almost an hour. The front desk person and some other unknown staff came with key to open it and still not able to unlocked. They called the fire department in to break the lock to free the child. But then one of the staff spoke on a threatening tone to charge our credit card for the damage and slammed the door. He didn’t even left with an explanation of his threat. No apology not even asked “how are you doing after the incident”. The next day, we left because we are on a hurry to stay on schedule with our journey. I asked to talk to the manager but the answer was that he will be there only after 9 am and would call me. Until today, 3 days after the incident, no call. I hope the management of this hotel reads this review. I want to convey them a message. If I see a charge to my credit card, then my attorney is just a phone call away. The SF city building code inspection and the fire department safety will visit the hotel. My attorney will sue them for child endangerment and no compliance to fire safety code. In case of incendie, customers trapped with locked door make everyone think twice before choosing this hotel.
Extremely nice hotel. It is a little hard to find access to it as it isnt directly on El Camino Real but it is west of Millbrae station. They provide a delicious hot breakfast. The rooms are neat and clean. They have quite a few amenities and they have a shuttle service to the airport.
We stayed in a single double. The room was clean and modern. The room had a stand up shower which was very welcome. The addition of a makeup remover cloth in the bathroom was a surprise didnt go unnoticed by my fiancé. A larger mini fridge and a microwave were handy as well. Breakfast was included and consisted of a couple of types of scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, cold cut sliced ham and cheddar, a waffle machine, assorted pastries, and cereals. All in all, I would stay again. A good deal for the area. Oh, and theres an In N Out down the street.
It was one of the less expensive hotels we found in San Francisco and omg it did not dissapoint. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was varied, lots of healthy options. They had 24/7 front desk with coffee, hot chocolate, tea, cookies and water. They even have a free shuttle service for the airport which is very close. I loved it.
This is a nice place: clean rooms, very pleasant staff, good location. Drinks, wine and snacks for sale in the lobby, but there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby, also. Very decent price.
The lobby and the room were very nice. Desk clerk guy super friendly. Good free cookies. I went there with my Mom and Grandma because they were the ones who stayed there. I think they enjoyed it too. I havent talked to them about it. Five stars.
Excellent staff, loved the rooms and especially the vinyl albums and record players in the rooms. Colors selections and artwork in the rooms and hotel are very cool! I definitely want to stay here on my next trip to SFO!!
This place is located near a Japanese cuisine. I really recommend this place to guests who want to sleep here for a night or two. The guy at the front desk was helpful, but seemed slightly bored and not talkative. The thing I like about this place is free parking, free breakfast in the morning, and cheap for its price. Very clean which is a huge thumbs up! Keep up the good work Dylan SFO.
A thin veneer of “renovation”, applied at minimum cost and maximum haste, onto a substrate of Old Motel. It’s fairly close to the airport (not “at the airport”), fairly clean and the staff seem to work very hard. The breakfast is a sad joke. I feel ripped off by the price even though I’m familiar with Bay Area hotel prices and my employer paid, not me personally. The feeling of being ripped off drives the animus in this review.
The place is nice and the staff are friendly. But because of the new water saving initiative, the shower is extremely low flow. Also, the insulation between the upstairs and downstairs isnt the best so you can hear peoples footsteps above you at times. If it werent for those things, I would give them 4.5 stars.
This place is a fantastic hotel and I hope to revisit it again. Staff is super courteous, rooms are clean, free parking, etc..This is not your typical corporate hotel and it has a mini library, wine dispenser, etc... Dfntly worth a visit.
Very convenient to the Caltrain and Bart and SFO airport. Decent price. Cute - boutique like, but not high end. Rooms nicely furnished. But its a outdoor door / balcony type of place. So other guests are basically walking outside your window. I liked it because it was trying hard, very convenient, and good price.
Ok...but not at all the feeling that the online pictures promote. Online pictures make it seem a lot more swank than it really is. But for $99 the price seemed fair. Plus the front-desk check-in seemed nice and they get a nod for effort in trying to add some details like wine you can buy in the lobby or or beer and actual coffee cups to use in the morning in your room. Also, having an airport shuttle available was a huge plus.
My very first visit in USA and fortunately I spent one night there.The room is spacious and I love their interior. The breakfast was complementary and I enjoyed a lot the food that they provided.The conscious for environment conservation is highly appreciated.
This is a nice airport hotel to stay at. They have yummy cookies out at night. The room is pretty good, with a cozy bed, fancy art, and multiple easily accessible plugs on the bedstand including a USB stand. The breakfast left a little something to be desired.
The reason it was POOR.. is because, I called here to get a rate. Anna is the one I spoke to. Unfortunately she was overwhelmed so she asked for my number to call me back. I gave her my phone number, but she never called back. I called again and the phone just rang and rang. Then I called again. And told Anna she never called me back. She then said ok Ill check the best rate. Put me on hold for almost 15 minutes, never came back so I hung up and called again, and she finally gave me a rate, which WAS NOT a discounted rate for the inconvenience she put me through It pretty SAD the poor service I received just for trying to get a rate .. WOW..
Clean, reasonably priced, breakfast and great location to jump on the train to head into the city. We didnt need a car the first few days of our trip b/c of the location. A shuttle got us from the airport to the hotel, and the train got us into the city.
So disappointed, they must buy reviews because theres no way to give this hotel a 5 start review. Where do I start?! The hotel is located next to a train station, if youre a light sleeper like me, good-luck falling asleep with the sound of the train in the background. The room is super small, Im yet to see anything of this size, the beds are NOT queen beds, but double beds, the toilet wasnt flushed and had pee in it, which means they either didnt clean the room or the made forgot to flush after using it, the smell in the room was terrible and the heater wasnt working !!!! STAY AWAY!!!!
Clean, upbeat little hotel. Literally across the street from Millbrae station (transit hub linking to both Caltrain and Bart train) which is very convenient to get around the Bay area. Sound travels into the rooms easily & beds are right by the doors, so if you are a light sleeper, other travelers will wake you up with suitcase rolling sounds or while talking outside. Continental breakfasts low on fruit options but the DIY waffle maker was pretty great. Coffee machine in lobby was out of service today which was not great. Staff are very friendly. No gym or pool facilities.

Pretty good hotel next to Millbrae station. The rooms are large with big bed and the shower was nice and clean. Would recommend staying here especially if you have an early flight out of SFO. The hotel has an airport shuttle but you need to let them know you want one.
I absolutely loved my room at this boutique hotel. I had a small balcony that allowed me to enjoy fresh air and simply lounge. I want to make this my escape from home local spot! And the next time I visit, I’m bringing some vinyl. Prince, of course. 💜

The room was very nice, no complaints other than no wall switch to light up the main room (lamps), exterior was sketchy at first but the entrance was very nice (though under construction). Deceivingly hard to get to from the airport but right next to the train station and great service from the shuttle to get to the airport.
We got a call an hour before checking in that their boiler was in maintenance and wouldn’t be working again until the next day at 10:00. We would have been long gone by then. They offered a discount but it wasn’t enough for what we’d have to deal with (cold shower in the winter, no thanks) and the manager refused to speak with us so we took our business elsewhere. We’d stayed at the Dylan before, but never again.
Free shuttle to and from airport at request, clean, close to the airport & train station (about 15/20 minutes from San Francisco). The man at the desk was SO helpful & friendly with everything. It is set up sort of like a motel though (have to walk outside to get to your room which is on one of three floors). You can certainly hear the footsteps of the people above you, however all in all good place.
One of my favorite hotels, rooms are clean and comfortable and have record players in each room. Great alcohol selection in the lobby and other guests are respectable.
This hotel is located quite near to SFO airport and even has good restaurant around for meal. Hotel was really cozy, safe and clean. Free Breakfast menu was small and coffee machin wasnt available to use besides breakfast times.

Besides, all the things in the room were well designed and good for using. And there were lots of details which was thought for the guests! Next April I would be here again and get a nice experience!
Revamped motel with hip redesign, good free breakfast, and charming grotto-like outdoor patio. Thin floors if you have a loud upstairs guest. Would stay there again if I needed an airport hotel close to SFO.
Not bad, free breakfast was nice, the room was spacious and just as youd expect. The location was great as you were so close to the airport and bart station and some restaurants and the Walgreens. Definitely recommend.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER I made a reservation three months ago for last week, change of plans happened later and I forgot I did not cancel the reservation, didnt realize until the cancellation appeared on my card. Hotel charged me for a night of fee which is $317. I called in to ask for help about this, politely asked if the charge could be removed or discounted. The guy from front desk was extremely rude, SCOLDED me like hes my father, gave me a whole speech of you are the only one thats at fault, you are responsible for your own action!... Is this really necessary? Is this customer service or customer schooling? I recommend the owner of the hotel to check the recording of the call if it exists, what kind of hospitality was that? Is this how the hotel is portraying itself? Never wrote one review for bad experience but this one is just ridiculous.
Good free breakfast. Very well lit room. Not every room has a refrigerator. Will have to go to many nearby (walking distance) for lunch and dinner. Room door faces outside covered walkway. USB and plenty of electrical outlets.Double twin XL room did not feel cramped at all. Free airport shuttle.5 minute walk to BART Millbrae station.You will faintly hear Calpers train passing but not often; wont interfere with sleeping.Water temperature in shower will fluctuate for a fraction of a second now and then.Would definitely consider booking again if I return.
Great place and good price, especially for a place so near San Francisco. Its also a mere 5-10 minute walk to the BART and Caltrain station, which gives access to most of the Bay Area. The staff is friendly, and the whole place is very nice and comfortable. The rooms and hallways have unique decorations. The only shortcoming would be the size of the breakfast area, which gets rather cramped in the mornings.
This is a cozy and wonderful place to stay if you want to explore San Francisco; only 2 Minutes from the BAR Train (5.50 US $ single ride; round about 25 minutes into town); very friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and large rooms with everything you need.We loved it !!
Made reservations on my way to San Francisco, but when I went to check in, my room was double booked. So they wouldnt let us have out room, I stead they offered us a hotel credit !? After a full day of driving, this made my trip very inconvenient. I was stuck without a place to stay for me and my family, and the hotel only had rooms for double the price of what I paid online. I think its a big scam, and the staff was very unapologetic. You could tell they hated the job. We are all so disappointed.
Location for an airport area hotel is tops! Its not 5 star, get it. Lol. Rooms are modern, super clean. Close to restaurants and amazingly close to the BART. Bonus is a 5 minute walk to an In n Out!
Horrible!!! Waited 40 minutes for the airport transportation before getting a taxi. Completely junkie looking on the outside. I guess they are going to paint the outside and dress it up a bit but its just a dressed up motel 6. Heater in the room is broken. Woke up freezing. After not picking up the phone, the front desk person was not able to get us a room with a working heater or an extra blanket. I am pregnant and it was absolutely scary getting out of bed to go to the bathroom because I was shaking so bad from the cold. Worst hotel ever!!!!!!
It was fine - kind of boutique- a converted old hotel from the 70s or maybe 60s. Rooms were small but ok, clean, quirky modern decor, seemed safe too. Only problem was there was something squeeking in the AC - kept waking me up. It might have been in the upstairs room. Not sure.
Comfortable stay. Didnt realize this was a motel style hotel where all rooms are accessed from outside. Not my preferred way to travel alone. However, very comfortable. Decent breakfast.
Excellent location, just minutes from the Millbrae station where both BART and Caltrain options are available! Ive stayed here thrice and have no complaints whatsoever about room cleanliness, service or billing.
After a five and a half hour plane ride from the east coast... we call the shuttle service once to let them know we arrived at the departure gate and airline. Waited, called again after 15 minutes. We were told the shuttle would take 20-25 minutes, 40 minutes later after considering an Uber or even walking we call again asked about it. Still currently waiting on this shuttle service. Has officially been an hour. Can’t wait to see how the rest of this goes. See you soon concierge desk ❤️ Whenever you decide to get us or nah? Did I mention it was originally 1am? Now 2. 4am east coast time, we would like to go to bed. Awful awful awful awful service.
An awesome non-chain hotel close to SFO and a BART station. The hotel is beautiful on the outside with a nice communal area. The rooms are relaxing and decorated beautifully. This will be my first stop when coming back to SFO.
My wife and I just stayed at the Dylan for a work/vacation thing we did that required us to be in Palo Alto (for work) and also in San Francisco (for play). The Dylan (located in Millbrae) is a perfect in-between place to get a reduced rate and easy access to both.Many great things about the Dylan1) 10 minutes away from the airport by shuttle, bus or Uber: its the last stop for the shuttle and bus before the airport, and both bus and shuttle are literally steps away from the hotel (the bus stop is like a quarter block away). If youre in a pinch, paying 2.25 (as of this writing) for the bus was basically the same as taking a shuttle...and takes the same amount of time to get there!2) The room was perfectly clean and really nice. No problem with the shower, water pressure, sink, toilet, coffee maker, iron, tv or anything else3) At night I didnt hear anything more than just your typical city sounds: no airport take-offs, no loud chopper bikes, no sirens (to speak of), and only a little bumping around upstairs (from the third floor). I slept soundly every night4) The people at the front desk were friendly and nice to us, because we were friendly and nice to them.5) Just a 5-6 minute easy walk to the Milbrae caltrain station. We used this every day to get to Stanford and to San Francisco. It was amazingly easy. And when you are walking to the caltrain you can stop at...7) Peters Cafe, an authentic fifties diner just a 3 minute walk from the Dylan. This place is the real deal and will serve you THA BEST egg/bacon/toast/coffee. They also have great burgers. And they do coffee to go.8) The Dylan is also close to In-And-Out Burger and lots of japanese, chinese, and other asian restaurants. There is even a short bike/running path about a block away if you want to get some exercise.We really liked this place, and we would absolutely stay there again!!
Very relaxing and comfortable. Our room was clean, nicely decorated, and fairly large. It was exactly what we needed to refresh between flights. Highly recommend!

Nice little hotel near the airport. Located close to all Asian restaurants - hotpot, Japanese and also coffee shops (less than 10 mins drive to the good one). Breakfast is great featuring self-made pancakes!
The free 24hour airport shuttle was the reason I booked the Dylan. Called the Hotel upon arrival...shuttle picked me up in 15minutes! Nice room, friendly staff. Drug stores and restaurants in walking distance. Great proximity to the bart.

Love this hotel. Deluxe rooms have a record player in the room with a few random records to play. Great location, close to SFO, and right next to Caltrain. Sushi place next door is excellent, too.
For a hotel labeled at SFO they dont have a shuttle stop, impossible to sleep as the water heaters make a screaming sound anytime anyone uses a tap or shower. The only source of potable water on site is in the lobby which closes at night.
A nice hotel near the airport. Easy access to many types of restaurants, supermarket, coffee shop and pharmacy. They also offer continental breaky which is more than enough for travellers (at least myself). Train/Bart station is just few mins walk, which is a plus!Friendly staff, quite environment!
The room was great. The only thing i would add is a mini fridge and a microwave. Overall the room was spacious and the beds comfortable
I booked this hotel because of the reviews...I was expecting a small boutique hotel...Front desk staff were very helpful, cheerful and gracious. I was informed that my room was being upgraded to a room with a balcony because the hotel was 100% booked.. I opened the door to a room that was being heated with a MASSIVE Commercial heater (it was 22 degrees Celcius outside) .. no sheets on the bed ??? windows closed??? I immediately thought of Bed Bug remediation! I went back to the front desk I was told they were cleaning the carpets in that room and was offered another room???? NO THANKS...PS..I was also told that they couldnt refund my prepaid fee because they have a 48hr cancellation policy?

Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Very clean and the bed was amazing! The customer service and breakfast is why it gets 4 stars. The breakfast was minimal and customer service wasnt terrible but not great.
Nice stay you can the hotel was probably built in the late 60s early 70s but they have really modernized it a lot. It is super close to SFO and there are stores and places to eat in easy walking distance. Bed was super comfortable and * had a great stay would definitely stay here again

So happy we decided to stay here during our SF visit. Literally right by the bart station, a nicer hot breakfast, rooms were spacious and clean, and great service. Id stay here again and recommend to friends. Definitely worth the money. They also provide an airport shuttle.

The Dylan at SFO is located in the beautiful town of Burlingame California. Its a very clean, updated, safe and friendly hotel. They offer late check out if requested as well as breakfast from 6am to 10am. I have stayed there about 3 times now and I plan to stay again. The Dylan Hotel will always be my first choice. Absolutely a 4 star Hotel.
This hotel was a nice hotel. It is fairly far from San Francisco attractions but it was in a quiet area. The beds were very comfortable. Our room was very small and the breakfast options were small too.
Like this place alot! We have stayed here more than a few times. Very conveniently located near Bart and Airport. Short trip and drive to SF. The last time though we stayed in room 119 where the exit door is located...it slammed and opened and closed all night! It was loud! :( also the walls are very thin and we heard every bathroom break and walking from the guests above us all night long. Other than those complaints we reallydo love The Dylan. It is our getaway and place we realky have come to like.
Great location. Near the airport (SFO) so airport shuttle is free. Near the Millbrae BART station which has trains running to and from downtown SF 24/7. Near the following places, too: In n Out, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, CVS, Chipotle, Starbucks and other cafes/restaurants. Neighborhood is peaceful, safe and quiet.Hotel staff are courteous and nice. Free breakfast is better than I expected.
Very chill location right off the freeway. Standard room perfect for a travelling business person or family. The closest BART station is literally 2 minutes walking distance which makes this place ultra convenient
Nice atmosphere, but the breakfast buffet is a bit simple and the room is VERY chilly at night. Heater is present, but is very loud. Free parking is an absolute pro.

Wines by the glass and happy hour prices on trendy mixed cocktail cans. The charming Manager Marissa takes great pride and makes you feel welcome. It’s nice to go to a non chain hotel that is high touch with personalized service!

Location very closed to train station, very convenient if you want to reach the SF airport early.The reception area are clean, well organized with good interior design. There are vending machine and snacks if you want to buy. Staff are kind and friendly.The room, one of the best. Its spacious, high standard, clean, fully equipped with good interior design.Its totally right choice to stay at this hotel. Writing this purely independent, without getting any incentive from hotel. If they are good public shall know.

2023-10-26 18:14:06Booked as a one night stopover before flying from SFO. In terms of location, it’s not that convenient to get to the airport as the BART runs to/from Millbrae quite infrequently, I had to wait about 20 minutes (bus or driving might be better!). Lady at the front desk was super unfriendly when I arrived and when I got to my room there was incredibly loud pressure washing going on which sounded like it was happening in my room. The room itself was clean, if a little dated so no complaints there. Just be aware that the walls are incredibly thin, I could hear people snoring in the next room and conversations as they walked past the door. I was also woken up by some aggressive construction/drilling sounds in the morning which, again, sounded like it was happening inside my room. Wouldn’t stay here again and Would recommend spending an extra 20 mins on the BART and staying somewhere in mission/Union square.

2023-09-22 02:44:16Stayed here on a business trip when I needed to a couple locations in the Bay Area. Access to the airport, BART and CalTrain is excellent. Rooms were updated but its clear its an older building, kind of had an older smell and some old features. Overall it was plenty nice though, especially given that this place is less expensive than other big chain airport hotels. One other note: the rooms are all motel style, opening outdoors to the open walkway. I was fortunate to have a room towards the end so I didnt have too much noise, but I would imagine this would be a problem for the first few rooms that almost everyone needs to walk by to get to/from the lobby.Speaking of the lobby, they had an amazing (almost overkill) number of options for drinks. While theres no restaurant or bar they had a full selection of beers, wines, canned cocktails and liquor for pretty reasonable prices given the price of most things in the SF area. Overall would definitely recommend this place if youre flying in/out of SFO and want to use public transportation to get around.

Unfortunately I did not have the same experience because I woke up after the first night with bug bites all over my arm, neck, chin, and leg. There are 7 bites total and they were insanely itchy. It’s been four days and the rash has not gone away.After the first night, I moved to the other bed in the room and was fine the second night. I did inform reception at checkout to deep clean the room to avoid anyone else from getting bitten.Outside of this, I did appreciate the proximity of the hotel to BART and restaurants/grocery stores. I also appreciated the fancy coffee machine in the lobby. I wish I didn’t have the bug experience so I wouldn’t have to leave this review.

It was as if the creative team behind the Dylan had tried to envision a stay from the perspective of their guests — and succeeded. Front desk support was so welcoming and efficient as well. The only thing lacking was an airport shuttle... but I would *definitely* stay here again and will continue to recommend to friends in the area.

2023-08-08 13:36:48Fantastic location for hopping on the BART into SF and SFO. two minutes walk and rapidly whisked into the centre. We used the Dylan hotel as our base whilst exploring the area and also enjoyed the local area with lots of amenities and good restaurants nearby. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Receptions team are friendly and informative. My kids made the most of the complementary hot chocolate and there isa. clear emphasis on the environment with complementary metal flasks for water to use for the duration of your stay.

2023-08-14 23:59:59Receptionist incredibly surly - I had to be the happy friendly one instead of her. I wanted to ask her to smile but felt she’d give me a bad room if I did! Only good thing was the comfy bed. Their were extra unexpected non-refundable ‘admin’ charges on my credit credit. My booking confirmation said they were included but when I checked with the hotel - they said no!!! I was also not advised at any stage - including at check-in. No fridge or kettle. Mediocre 3 star motel. No dining available. Soundproofing not the best and very noisy aircon.

2023-09-23 01:28:32Great place to stay for a stopover by the airport. The parking was what led me to choose this place. Check in was easy. Rooms are recently renovated and definitely have a more modern vibe. Only note is that the walls are on the thin side so noise carries. Bring earplugs.
