Finally got to try this spot! It did not disappoint. I had the Cali Fried & My wife had the Avocado Morning. Even when busy they got the food out quik & hot! The Cali Fried was tasty af! Well definitely be back. Nothing else like this in Simi Valley.

Looking for Best breakfast sandwich with egg avocado yolk fried that I love at Flying yolk in the morning my breakfast panni had hardly any egg, when a sandwich of this size should have at least almost two eggs instead they put way too much bacon. After a thirty-minute wait for such a simple sandwich very disappointing. Sure wish their menu has more healthy options, everything is sodium or sugar.

Finally moved back to Cali after a few years, and drove 2 hours to meet some friends and bring them here for their first FY experience. This places quality is just as good as I remember, and I’ve never had a bad meal here!I had the Maple Fried and it was so good! They syrup they use isn’t too sweet or messy, and compliments the saltiness of the bacon very well! The tater tots are the best ever, always fresh and crispy, never oily. My friend got a steak burrito, I don’t remember which one and he said it was worth every penny and he would come back for it.

I’ve been coming here over the years and really do love this place. Their breakfast sandwiches are freaking delicious and the yolk is perfectly runny without being undercooked. The staff are always really friendly too. If you’re in the area/ like supporting small businesses, definitely worth giving this a try.

This place was absolutely delicious! It was so good we went two mornings and would have gone again if we could have! The croissant French toast was delicious. I love breakfast burritos though and this was a very good one. Also the hot sauce was so good I bought some for home! Even the yogurt was really good. If you want an excellent breakfast come to The Flying Yolk!!!

The Flying Yolk is a small but ramped up breakfast spot in the heart of Simi Valley. If you are looking for an independent, non-commercial type of place to enjoy a satisfying breakfast, this is the spot. They have many breakfast options to go with no matter how big an appetite you are carrying with you. The Dani Burger is a favorite of many. I usually go with the protein bowl myself. If you dont desire to eat in, they also do take out and delivery if so desired. The Yolk is definitely worth the price Of admission.

The flying yolk is a small breakfast and lunch eatery. Its a hidden gem in Simi valley. There is limited seating and you order at the counter. They offer a variety of breakfast items and burgers. Even vegetarian options and a limited kids menu. Any item can be made into a combo which includes a drink and tots or fruit. The tots were good and we enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches on the brioche bread. First time here and we would definitely like to return.

I ordered the Maple fried Burger. Flavor wise, it was very good, however, the Burger Patty was overcooked and dried out. Which led to a not so pleasing bite even though the flavors with the Maple syrup and the egg were all there.Next time I will have to ask and see if they can cook it less.My wife had the strawberry and Nutella croissant. She liked it a lot. We also split some tater tots that were very yummy, dipped in fly sauce or ketchup.

I originally planned to eat in but mix up with my order and it was bagged to go. Ordered breakfast burrito with turkey sausage with avocado meal with tots and drink. Order came to $27 with tax and tip. I ordered online but after about 30 minutes checked on order and it never went through. Tots were really good! Breakfast burrito was bland. Could use some seasoning or spices or Pico de gallo.Not worth the wait or price.

The Flying Yolk is a new feeling, counter order with breakfast sandwiches on croissants and brioche and breakfast burritos. Seating is a little limited when we were there on a Sunday late morning (granted that’s prime brunch time!) And in general we thought the food was good.I had a croissant (they’re fresh baked) with their vegan patty, cheddar cheese, and egg whites. They managed to make a croissant sandwich manageable. The egg whites were perfectly done (apparently that’s not easy based on what I’ve ben served at many other restaurants.) I didn’t love the cheddar but it was an overall good sandwich. (American and Swiss cheeses are also available.)My wife had the vegan patty (which is gluten free and vegetable based, not soy). She used this as base for avocado toast (instead of bread). She liked it and thought it was well presented.Our kid (“fresh” from two weeks at camp…) enjoyed the grilled cheese he got, also on a croissant.)We all shared a side of tots. It was a very generous portion. They were perfectly fried and we had nothing to complain about as, they’re tots, and they provided the exact “tot” experience one would expect and hope for from tots.They have self serve coffee - a couple varieties. I had French/Italian toast which I thought was super good (and I’m super picky about coffee).The only complaint is everything the food and beverages are served in is disposable. Throw away coffee cups and food served on paper. We always appreciate (as does the planet), especially when dining in, food served in washable and reusable plates. (And coffee is always more satisfying in a mug. We’d definitely come back though!

Had brunch here this morning and we loved it. Great quality food and delicious! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful getting a high chair for us. This will be our new favorite hot spot. We’ve been to a bunch of new restaurants in the area since we moved here and this place is the first place that gave us the “wow” factor. Highly recommend.

The food was terrible. I got a breakfast burrito that had some eggs with the grease. I only ate half and was not feeling well after. A great alternative to a high colonic.I addition, the service, while functional, lacked warmth typically found at such establishments. It was as if the entire work crew were having a bad day. Everyday.

If you don’t like the flying yolk you must not like breakfast.Not sure where to start, maybe the brioche bun? Crispy tater tots? Quick service? I enjoyed our first breakfast at The Flying Yolk. We ordered at the counter and our food was brought to the table. Its very casual. There are breakfast sandwiches, bowls, and other choices... including a burger. They have Mighty Leaf teas. Almond milk if you ask for it. Instead of hash browns you get crispy tater tots.

Just an amazing place. Amazing staff and service, amazing prices, amazing food, and amazing environment. I had the Cali Fried and it was godly! I wish I had seen the hot sauce that was available before I devoured my sandwich but it was too good to resist. Highly recommend visiting if nearby or driving a bit for (30 minute drive for me and it’s so worth it). Also I had a friendly raven as my breakfast buddy.

My kind of funky breakfast place. Order at the counter. Serve yourself coffee. I had the special, Peruvian steak and egg burrito. Steak was braised in a rich sauce and fork tender, well-trimmed with no fat or gristle. Eggs were poached or fried rather than scrambled with yolks still just a bit runny. Awesome! Tots were crisp and the house hot sauces creative and flavorful. My friend had the Califoria Fry. It was gone in 60 seconds. No talking until it was done other than a muffled mouthful grunt that sounded a lot like good between bites. Highly recommended.

The fact that there are people in Simi that havent tried this place is a travesty. The kind of restaurant that deserves to be triple its current size or have multiple locations because the food is THAT good! I moved out of state and this is the place that I miss the most because I just cant find anywhere that does what they do anywhere near the same level of quality.Lots of restaurants have their menu photos that look all dramatic and glamorous but once its on your plate its paltry and sad. A depressing drop off from what the photographer sold you. Not so at the Flying Yolk. Your omg that looks amazing sandwich that you got off the menu is just as gorgeous when you get it out of the bag.The quality control is honestly baffling to me. The bacon is actual legit perfectly cooked bacon (not the sad reheated bacon shaped rubber you get at a McDonalds). The egg in your sandwich isnt overdone. You get halfway through your sandwich and the glorious yolk breaks and starts running down your hand (Im sure theyll cook it through for the children out there). The tots/hashbrowns are crispy out and soft in. You bite your sandwich and you get that hint of maple flavor, not too much, just enough to make it feel like breakfast as a kid (when the pancake syrup spread over your plate and got onto your eggs and bacon). Every bit is thoroughly satisfying and its not skimpy. Despite the food being absolutely delicious I dont find myself sad after finishing my sandwich. My appetite is completely sated and Im absolutely content (neither over-full nor under-fed).I cant praise this place highly enough. So so so good.

I have only tried the “Flying Fried” egg sandwich so far, but it is hands down the best egg sandwich I have ever had. The croissant is lightly panini-ed, which just puts this sandwich over the top.Thank goodness we shared the bag of Tater Tots, because there’s so many of those tasty little morsels and we could’ve kept plowing through them.And we shared the Strawberry Nutella croissant, which is also panini-ed. Tasty sweet ending to our meal!Free refills on the Tropical Iced Tea we enjoyed. Eggs are fresh and cooked to order. Service was terrific. Make sure you’re extra hungry cuz it seems there’s about 4 eggs inside that sandwich. Again eggs cooked to perfection. Their sauce added a great tangy touch. Adding bacon made it taste even better.Upon coming back over and over again, I have fallen in love with their CALI FRIED SANDWICH!It’s their best breakfast sandwich. When this place opened up, it was amazing and the food was to die for. All of the stuff you got no matter what it was on the menu was good.Now, I dont know what happened, but this has changed quite a bit. We just ordered two bowls and the bacon is chewy, and the eggs were rubbery (blande as well) and salt less. Needless to say this was enough to put me off my food. Was that enough? Nope! They also gave us all the ends of the bread for our toast. (Come on, you really think thats ok? Nobody eats the ends of toast) Im really disappointed in the decline of this place in literally a couple months. We used to come here all the time, and now theres no chance Im going to be wasting my money here.

We Yelped for a place to eat and thought we would try out this Flying Yoke. It was DELICIOUS!So we went a week early so my daughter could get familiar with the area around the DMV for her test. I was really looking forward to going back for the test so we could eat there again!She passed her drivers test!! Yay!!! Now I cant stop thinking about the Flying Yoke.
