Its hard to come by authentic New Mexico style food in CA, which is the best Mexican style food in the world. This is authentic, but seems to be less spicy than the real thing for the delicate CA tastes.

The quality here is amazing especially for the price. Everything seems freshly made and the portions are very generous. I’ve tried the Navajo taco and the green chile cheeseburger so far and both were excellent. The frybread for the Navajo taco was so flavorful and despite it being fried, it didn’t taste overly oily and dense. The green chile cheeseburger’s patty was perfectly cooked and the fries had a great texture and flavor. Authentic and delicious Southwestern food is such a rarity around here so I am glad The Green Chile exists. The food here is definitely not to be missed.

I and my friends visited This place for lunch. It was super busy we had to wait 5mins to get the table. Food arrived on time and all were really delicious. The service was super cool and heard that it was neighborhood favorite Mexican food place. Even though the place is small it was great.

Amazing food and our waitress Lily was super amazing! The sopapillas are a MUST TRY you will not regret it. I also ordered the strawberry horchata which was tasty and their food was tasty as well. But I will say their sopapillas were the star of the show, super delicious😋

The Green Chile is a fantastic place to experience New Mexico style food. The chili and sopapilla’s are a must.It’s located in a small shopping strip and if you aren’t paying attention it’s easy to miss.The staff is great and explained any questions on the menu that came up. The first time I had the stacked enchiladas, smothered with pork green chili and a fried egg. I could eat that every time, but want to explore other items as well. Others with me had the stuffed sopapilla that looked delicious.This time I ordered the southwest style flautas and of course had to take a order of sopapillas to go.When your in the area I recommend stopping in and letting your taste buds decide for themselves!

The atmosphere and the service were super awesome. However, Im a New Mexican myself, recently moved to CA and the food was not what I was hoping. I was hoping to be brought back home to some authentic New Mexican food with our beautiful hatch green chili and sopapillas but the sopapillas were very doughy and it didnt make our Navajo taco or stuffed sopa taste very good. The red chili is delicious though!! Only true burqueños know!!!

Staff was really nice. Green chile bowl was well seasoned and just the right amount of heat, but way too much cornstarch and pork looked and tasted bland and pre cooked, similar to a canned chicken.Sopapillas were outstanding and the green chile dip was very tasty.

Wow, what can I say about this place. The food was great and the staff was great. We went in on Sunday and had a large group and they were very accommodating and the service was great. I highly recommend the pork green chile sopapilla. You have to check this place out.

A family friend raved about this place so we tried it. The service was really good and the staff is really friendly!The food was good portion for the price, and Im sure it wouldve have tasted great if it was cooked. One of us get pork tacos, and I got the pork chile verde, but the pork wasnt cooked all the way it was completely pink but not completely raw. The sopapillas were really big, but tasted like old oil. We probably wont be back, but the regulars in there seemed to like it.

We always fond of this place. Have been back for 5 years. Food are great as usual. Service was fast and friendly. They often sent coupons via mail. Reasonable price and portions. Definitely recommend to who ever love or wanna try New Mexico food. Our favorite are green pork chili Sopapillas and sweet Sopapillas with honey. They offer breakfast only on weekends.

It’s one of those places you come in once never to return again. In my case it was a place I left in regret, looking at a fast food joint across the street as a much better option. The food is mediocre in taste an pretty dull. The server was also pretty rude with us, especially after she found that one of the guys in our group was from Mexico. She said it was a completely different thing…whatever it meant. Well, let me tell you what, if you want a poor tasting replica of Mexican food go ahead. If you’re coming in with anticipation of a good fix of Mexican food, the familiar taste you know - you’ll be disappointed. It’s New Mexican, which is a “totally different thing”.

First timer here! Started off with the Spicy Bean Dip (with a side of sour cream, yum.) Delicious!!I was super excited to see “Stacked Enchiladas” on the menu as it is one of my favorite family dishes. Let me tell you this...😍 it tasted waaaay better than we’ve ever made before. Their green chili pork melts in your mouth! Super tender and full of flavor. I added an egg on top; some will think that is weird or gross but it’s a NM thang...must try at least once.The staff were very friendly and on top of service. Magaly (hope I spelled that right) was such a sweetheart!!!P.s. Don’t judge off other’s reviews, must try for yourself. I thought some of their comments and opinions were rude and distasteful. If you want a five star menu and notice that this is located in a mini strip...don’t come on and comment how terrible their attire, presentation, or atmosphere were. 🙄😂

It was our first time here. The Navajo taco (a.k.a. Ive gone here a few times, the food is normally good. I went again recently in the morning for breakfast on a Saturday, it wasnt busy, waited a bit then was told we can sit anywhere. Had to wait some more to get our menus. I saw one lady who was taking orders and bringing out food. Felt like we were waiting around a lot on her to help us, but noticed she would spend a lot of time with a table of people she knew. I got a sopapilla with eggs beans pork and salsa Verde, it was pretty good. Someone else got the chilaquiles but they were plain, looked like nachos you can make at home with store bought tortilla chips and melted yellow cheese with some green salsa that was okay. Id go back for their sopapilla or Navajo taco I think.

If youre a fan of heat when you eat, you could count yourself among the very wise to try this place. They put hatch green chile in/on EVERYTHING; burgers, sandwiches, burritos, fries, enchiladas, sopaipillas. Not crazy hot, but a nice slow burn. It is a different type of Mexican restaurant, not really a true South Western Mexican like they advertise. We have only tried a few different dishes there, all dishes were okay to good. The flavor and spice level is typically pretty mild. I like something a little spicier. Its one of those places we go when we feel like something different, but it never really becomes a regular go to place for us.

The sopapilla was so doughy. Ordered also the navajo tacos and it wasnt very tasty. Kinda salty, didnt taste freshly made. The fry bread needed a little more frying..it was cold. I nicely explained.to the owner bit she didnt take criticism well. I tried to explain my preference on the fry bread as weve had better but she wasnt very accommodating of my suggestion or how I would enjoy my navajo tacos better next time. It was just a quick fix but not a very good one.

So is the Green Chile Cheese burger...the beef is EXCELLENT not to mention the fries with Green Chile Verde on top! They also have vegetarian items. Something for everyone. The service is good too! I love the Navajo taco at The Green Chile. I got a Navajo taco with chicken and it was very delicious. My husband ordered the beef and potatoes sopapilla he said that it was very good. I ordered a small order of sopapillas with honey I was disappointed they were not like the ones in New Mexico I call pillows of heaven that melt in your mouth. I did eat them with the leftover filling from my Navajo taco.

Probably one of the most under-rated places around. This is a wonderful New Mexican food spot. They bring those authentic New Mexican flavors to Southern California with their food, and especially the Sopapillas. They MOVED! Another 20 minutes away. Which their first location was 15 minutes away from home.But, we decided wed try out the new location. Atmosphere is now like take out with a little bit of seating. Very dissatisfied. Very disappointing.Menu was similar, but not the same. Food was not presented well. Wrong ingredients in the entree...This location is much smaller. Staff not as friendly or helpful.I dont really care how far I have to drive, but the food should match my effort. Sorry, I can no longer say this is one of our favorites.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now, but after trying to pick up an order for doordash the lady was rude!!! I show up the order is already late when I got there and she tells me it’s going to be another 10 min or so and you can just quit the order if you’d like with the worst attitude??? Ive been here in the past but when I went this Friday with my Girlfriend and her family we got the worst Service of my life we were seated outside because we were a party of 10 I ordered my food first and we had to ask the 2 waitress for our drinks and utensils and it took over 25 minutes to get our food and they forgot my order and I canceled my order and just left I wont be coming back sorry your service has gone down hill and what I noticed people who called in there orders were getting there food quicker which I understand is part of your business But when we are there to eat and they took so long to serve us it showed me there customer service needs improvement

Drove 45 minutes to get a stuffed sopapilla. The sopapilla itself was good, but the stuffing was lacking. The ground beef had no flavor and the cheese was odd. And for a place that calls itself The Green Chile, I have to ask --- Wheres the chile? Only tasted a hint of chile in two bites of a large meal. But its the only game in town so I will go back, just to the other location.

We eat low carb and love coming here because they allow us to modify their items to match our diet. For example, we get the queso dip and instead of chips, we get slices of sweet bell peppers. I insisted that they charge us a couple of extra dollars since bell peppers arent cheap. Lots of options for the low carb diet that taste great!

We have been CRAVING New Mexican food. I met my husband while we lived in Santa Fe and weve hunted for true green CHILE out here everywhere. While we were headed out to Joshua Tree, I HAD to know what was up at a place literally called The Green Chile.They have everything youd want: menudo, adobabda, sopapillas, smothered burritos (and they know what you mean by CHRISTMAS!)I wish Id taken pictures of our food! Ok, this place was pretty good...Im currently on a quest for the best chile verde pork... (Theres a place in the Sepulveda pass that has GREAT green chili pork burritos called Lucys (not sure if it still there...)...anyway...This place advertised itself as the best green chile sauce in town.It was a good green chile sauce which they used for their pork burrito AND their green chile SOUP (!) Tasty, but not as hot as Id like, in fact, a little sweet...The chicken street tacos were good, grilled chicken chunks, and lots o meat. Everyone in our party was happy with their meal, tho I think the soup could use some veggies, like onion, celery, maybe bell peppers...If it loses a star, its because it lacks any kind of atmosphere. Bright fluorescent lights, tables and chairs, no booths. Small place, maybe holds 30, 40 max... feels like the kind of place youd bus your own plates, but you had a waitress. Prices were ok, not over priced like so many new trendy places. Try it.
