Ordered a pickup order for lunch - but did not receive my Korean burger with the order. Called the Habit store on Lomas Santa Fe in North County San Diego to report the missing item and requested that they either deliver the missing burger (99 cents to deliver) or credit back the cost of the whole meal. Was told to go online and fill out a form (?!?!?) and maybe someone would get back to me. I have been a constant and loyal customer at this store since the day it opened. My husband and I eat there more than once a week. A simple act of courtesy and customer service would have gone far in this situation. Instead of requiring me to drive 15 miles back to the store, they could call a delivery service for 99 cents and made it right. Or credit back the cost of the meal upon request. Or offer a coupon for a free meal on a subsequent visit. This is NOT how you treat your best customers!Very disappointed and also very hungry.Susan and Morey Asato

First time trying The Habit. The staff was very nice and the restaurant is clean, but the burger was not on the same level as Burger Lounge or other burger places. Fries were hot but had zero salt. Not worth the calories.

Popped in for a light lunch - we shared a bbq chicken salad. Excellent - on a par with the standards we’ve come to expect of Habit restaurants. Indoor and outdoor seating. Quite a bit of freeway noise if you’re sitting outside. Service was great. Hot tip: try mixing the citrus lemonade with sprite.

You may not believe this but that was my first time going to habit Burger mostly because Im a vegetarian and it didnt occur to me that they might have options. They have enough options that I need to go back a few more times to try them all! The tempura green beans were outstanding, my ahi Burger was great and Im looking forward to the portobello mushroom burger. My 9-year-olds chicken tenders were terrific although he ate mostly the french fries and the other two people with me had char burgers and said they were great. It was clean and the servers were terrifically friendly and to feed four of us for $40 was pretty darn good because we ordered a lot of food.

This is our closest HB, and our first few orders I had nothing but rave reviews. The food was very reasonable and the steak sandwich was fantastic. Idk what’s happened here but they have messed up five of our last seven orders. Wrong food, cold, failing to bring out our food in a timely manner… when I had to walk in and pick up the food after a curbside order the lady who seemed to be the manager told me that I failed to check in and was quite rude. Oh and why can’t I seem to get ranch? Your sides are ok without ranch, but really they are taken to the next level with. I noticed there is a new “opt in” for condiments, which is fine and stayed my complaint until I was sure I hadn’t missed it… but if you make me specifically ask you for ranch I should absolutely get it.Btw we stopped coming to your store for a few months because we weren’t getting what we ordered, I guess we’ll have to turn elsewhere again. Very disappointed.

Interesting watching staff prep orders as it appears they blatantly show disregard to delivery drivers. The “amigos,” working hate them as I saw how they interact with food delivery drivers. One driver said, “this location hates Door Dash drivers and intentionally hold up orders…” His order was ready and the Latina behind counter took extra few minutes to hand it over knowing he was waiting. She thinks to driver suffers, which he does in a way, but the customer also pays the price for cold food. After seeing this behavior, I won’t be coming back here.

Been going to Habit for years at many locations. This spot is the worst in terms of customer service. FIRST, I WITNESSED THE BLONDE OLDER LADY TOUCH THE TIP OF HER NOSE THEN CONTINUE TO MAKE ICE CREAM CONES FOR ABOUT 3 CUSTOMERS. Then she walks around and picked up something on the floor with fingers touching floor….again doesn’t wash hands and continued back in food prep area. It’s not unique to this establishment, but always sickening to see as it happens. she’ll deny it and manager will cover for her.Slow, no greeting by staff or “manager,” in blue shirt. I see the same bald guy working here. Typically in a sour mood, probably hates serving customers, spends more time chatting with staff. Food sitting on counter getting cold. Two other customers, including myself had to ask for our food sitting there. No sorry, apology….Will take my $$ elsewhere. Habit does steady biz, so my comments won’t impact the revenue, but they won’t get my $10+ again.

We had been craving a yummy juicy burger and saw this place yesterday. We tried it 1-2-22 and look forward to going back. The french fries taste great and surprise, surprise, they werent too salty. They messed up my order. Forgot to add cheese and added extra mayo to a sandwich that was supposed to have none. Update: they sent me some coupons to try it again, the store couldnt figure out how to substitute the bread for sourdough in a family meal and told me I would have to order online, I called customer service and they called the store and I was able to make the order, then they said I couldnt get the family meal price because of changing the bread to sourdough and adding bacon, called customer service and they gave me a refund on the original order and told me to use the coupons anyways, anyways the order was correct and good this time if it had not taken over an hour and 2 calls to customer service to get my order I would have added more stars. If you have an easy order or dont care what you pay I would recommend eating here. I will give them another shot in the future and update again.

I went here on a Sunday lunch time. I ordered in store and waited for my meal to be prepared. There was no synchronization between the staff making the burgers and fries etc. So the result was a meal where the burgers were cold as they were waiting on fries. I ordered this as take out I literally live 1 min from the store but could not be bothered to take it back. While in the store I mentioned my food had been sat waiting for the fries and was probably cold but the staff were not interested. Will never go here again.Update: I responded to the response from Habit and they went Radio SilentFurther update. They finally reached out and sent me two Char burger vouchers. I will try it one more time but not at the same location as a cold burger is never good even if it is free.Further update 3/15/23. Ordered online told me it would be ready in 10mins. Drive to the store and instead of it being ready they had just received the order. Had to wait in the store for 20+mins while they made the order, pointless ordering on the App. App told me order was ready. Last visit I have given this place enough tries. Shame as I normally love the habit but not this store.

Very clean place to dine. The service is excellent. The food was prepared correctly and prompt. My husband and I both ordered the #1... The Original Charburger with cheese..yum! They have a variety of sides. Tempura green beans, sweet potato fries, onion rings and more! The milkshakes are perfect. Not too sweet. Perfect to dip my fries!

The 1 thing that sets this Habit apart from all the others is Steven, the assistant manager. He is happy, friendly, cheerful...just watching and listening to him interact with his customers and crew is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. He very obviously loves his job.

Hands down my favorite burger joint around. I was starving after a long day at Comic Con and this was just what I needed. The service was impeccable, the price was low, and the food was damn good as always. Highly recommend all to try the Habit if you never have, especially this gem.

I ordered a #2 - a double with fries and a drink. With tax it came out to about $10. The service was great and the drink selection was nice. The fries were fine. The burger, on the other hand, tasted like a salty Whopper. These days, with great burger places such as Shake Shack or Five Guys offering burgers that taste way better (and have a better texture) for less money, I cannot see any reason to go to Habit. At the very least, it wont become a habit of mine (haha, sorry, couldnt resist).

I did an online order, and customized my order to have no mayo and paid extra to add bacon. I got there at the time the website said and waited for about 20 minutes. Got home and the burger has mayo and no bacon. This is the second time this has happened, and they forgot to bring out my drink too, but I caught that before leaving. I love the burgers, but this is really annoying! I paid extra to not get what I wanted.

At $3.50 each, I ordered 4 and instead of receiving a creamy, thick & rich shake I got a watery and grainy shake that was devoid of any sweetness. Great food! This location can get very busy so it takes awhile to get your food, and sometimes they get it wrong. For the most part it’s good, but the seating and floors can be sticky. I really like the green beans and sweet potato fries.

The Habit is delicious. Their cheeseburger with grilled onions is fantastic (almost life changing). You can get them lettuce wrapped if youre into the keto/low-carb thing.The fries are delicious too. I dont know what ranch dressing they use, but its delicious too.I also love their milkshakes. Id say that they are even better than (GASP) In-n-outs shakes... at least as good as.The store is clean, the staff are helpful, and wait is never very long.

All Habits are going up in price, I only order burgers, 2 usually.This Friday morning was not a good performance from them. There were 2 people on their break at 1030, when they open?? I was the first customer, the lady was, well hidingto the side of the register and the person ON BREAK had to tell her to take my order. ...1033. It took me forever to get 2 burgers, they got the wheat bun wrong on one. Others in the restaurant commented on where the food was and they said they just starting it 12 minute since I ordered they mentioned. Burgers were decent today after the stress. The white buns get dry, hard edges! Always go wheat! Youre NOT gluten intolerant. ;^)

A friend of mine ruined In N Out for me by telling me to order a plain double. It was gross. It was that moment when the whole flame grilled aspect of places really set in. I went form 2-3 days a week In N Out eater to maybe 2 times a year (those animal style fries well done). I’ve been a Habit man for years and despite my 6.3 mile drive here from work (thank god for online ordering) I decided to try the rest of the menu.I hate the parking in this lot, sure it’s newly painted, but it’s cramped and people drive around scared here. The location is on the small side despite it’s large corner presence. The kitchen is always cranking, but also small. The staff is great. The manager is a tornado, touching every aspect of this place and you can see how it’s a bit of a well oiled machine.The burger patties are excellent, cheese on the melty side, lettuce too thinly chopped, fresh tomatoes, briney pickles, sauces are on the bland side, but the real downfall here is their fall apart buns. Even with the Japanese burger eating method they do not hold up. Look that one up people it’s a game changer if the burger is sturdy.That Golden fried chicken is perfectly cooked, but not brined, the window for overcooking it is much smaller than on the grill, which is better than most. I no longer get the combo’s here because $2 for fries, $2 for a drink. That makes a $6.50 sandwich a $10.50 combo. Not with their weak sauces. It doesn’t have a fast food feel, it’s clean, it’s fresh, but for me I get a double char, no lettuce, extra tomato, santa Barbara style and I’m good. The char grilled chicken sandwiches are very good and I’m not opposed to the Albacore tuna fillet either. Their chicken salads all use freshly grilled chicken, that warmth really sets it apart from some places where they chop pre-cooked on there, but again those sauces need bite. There is a reason you should get everything on sourdough or just Santa Barbara style. The portabello sandwich needs work. I think the tri-tip is ok. Onion rings are legit, fries are good, sweet potato fries are good, fried green beans, nah, give me Chinese style green beans anyday.Habit has sort of done everything that In N Out doesn’t/hasn’t, and there is a reason they too have become successful.

Excellent place to grab a bite to eat on your way to the airport from Escondito! Its right off the freeway, and the prices are great. The best time to go is right before lunch (11) or immediately after (2pm), otherwise it will be packed to the brim.

Im used to going to the Habit from all of the times Ive gone to this mini-chain when I visit Santa Barbara.They actually have very good burgers, ordered just the way you like......very simliar in quality to these types of chains (5 guys, smashburger, etc.).However, these types of burger joints are pretty common...one step above good fast food (in n out) and mountains above crappy fast food (bk, mcd, jackinbox, wendys, etc)
