May 29, 2023I like the Double Char (see photos) with a side of fries. I also like tropical flavored iced tea. Its brewed and definitely a refreshing drink during the summer heat. The restaurant keeps the air conditioning at a nice temperature. For me this is important because I dont like restaurants without air conditioning during the hot desert summers.May 30, 2023I took my friend to eat here since I had a good experience yesterday. He ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad and I got the Double Char Cheeseburger combo with a strawberry sundae. Like the day before my food was really good. He did experience an issue with his salad. He found a hair in the salad. The restaurant took the food back and made him a fresh salad. The management didnt really say anything such as an apology. This has happened to me at numerous restaurants before. He said the replacement salad was good and there were no other issues. More photos added.July 1, 2023Ordered a strawberry sundae and large iced tea. Great refreshment from the hot day.

Place was clean and tidy. Service was well. Time we went was during the weekday around 3pm so it wasnt busy. I had the impossible burger ans it was great! Fries were also great, I really love the ranch. Family had mushrooms char that they loved and some cauliflower with garlic was also yummy!

I wanted to jump on here and say how much I appreciate the worker named Raymond (Ray). He had such an amazing way of making us feel important and being so respectful. Workers like Ray are the reasons why we come to El Centro for Dove Hunting and we will back at The Habit! Thanks for making the world a better place Ray!!

The cleanest fast-food restaurant Ive been to in ages. Great service and an excellent menu. Had the teriyaki burger which was cooked to perfection. I was so impressed that I thanked the staff when leaving for such an awesome dining experience. When was the last time youve done that at a fast-food restaurant?

Im not fond of chains and this was my first visit to a Habit Burger. I got the Portabello Burger and it was very good. The sweet potato fries were tasty. The restaurant was relatively clean. This one is a pain to get to. You can see it from the main road but you have to go past it and then drive through a couple of parking lots to get there.

I usually love the Habit. I have been to The Habit in Riverside, Corona, Temecula, Indio, and many more and they were all good! Not this one, I ordered a double Char burger, and the buns were burnt!!! TOP AND BOTTOM! It felt like I was eating from someone that barely started learning to cook. SMH.

Good quality fast food. Plenty of options for everyone. Two types of vegetarian burgers( impossible & a veggie patty) salads, & of course beef & chicken burgers. Interesting sides like fried green beans which are really good, sometimes they have different variations on the green beans like spicy green beans etc. Kids meals are a good deal and they always come with a little gummy hamburger which is always fun for the kids.

This review is for the service alone. The food at the Habit is delicious. Walked in and they didnt have the AC running. The entire staff was sitting at a table, on their phones and didnt acknowledge us at all. Keep in mind its 109 outside. At the minimum I expected someone to greet us and let us about the situation especially after we stood around for 60 seconds trying to catch eye contact with them.

I love these burgers. They are full of flavor. I like to get the double char with grilled onions and cheese, and I add bacon. The mushroom burger is awesome as well as the Santa Barbara burger. Its all good! Onion rings and fried green beans are a must. They have really good ranch dressing to dip them in. Wish there was one in my town.

This Habit has a kiosk ordering system. Really smoothe and efficient. Staff were all really pleasant. Food was made really well; one of the best Habit visits Ive had overall. If you need a good place to stop in your travels, or if youre local, definitely recommend stopping here for grub.

This location was supposed to be open at 10:30 am but when we arrived past 10:30 am the location was still closed. A worker came out to remove the cones from the drive thru. We asked if theyre open now but was told no not yet and then we asked why, the worker ignored us and continued walking past us. They wouldnt even let us sit inside to stay cool from the heat. We immediately went to panera next door, I guess the habit doesnt want our business.

Went to The Habit located on 4th avenue in El Centro, CA on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Their posted hours to open on a Sunday for both the drive through and for dining in is 10:30 am. I waited for the drive through to open but 10:30 am came and went, and no one came out to remove the 3 orange cones blocking the entrance. I parked and got out and approached the still locked front door. By this time it was 10:45 am and I could see 6-7 employees moving around inside. They seemed to be unhappy about having to be there working on a Sunday. Finally an employee came out to talk to me and when I showed him the posted hours of 10:30 am on Sunday for both the drive through and dining in all he could say was “Yeah but we’re not ready yet, maybe another 15 minutes.” That would’ve made it 11:00 am before they opened. I ended up going to In & Out across the street. Lousy attitudes and poor customer service. Don’t waste your time here.

This location (hidden) has decent burgers for the buck. A bit high priced, as compared to In & Out. The staff is friendly, the environment is clean and comfortable, and spacious. The Habit burger does taste like they take pride in their food, however Id stick to regular fries over sweet potato fries (their not so good). The average serving wait time is about 10-15 minutes. The overall experience so far has been above average.

Well maintained, I love that they have the dinning area very spacious. And they have them new machine that you can order as well. Which I prefer to let my order be taken by a person. New guy was awesome. And the food area was very clean. I have no pictures, but I did order the asparagus salad. Not my favorite. Maybe something else I will order next time. Though we had two combos of some sourdough burgers and the asparagus salad. Total came to almost $30.00. hmmm I not sure if I would actually done there often. Enjoy

This place use to be great. Use to be! The only place to go is down; way down. I never had a burger so smothered in pepper. It was soggy and not appetizing. The fries also looks sad and old. They resembled noodles, not crispy French fries. The guy that took our order seemed high or something. The guy couldnt remember from one second to the next. Then was rude when we took 5 seconds to pick a sauce for the chicken nuggets. Not going here again. Just hoping we dont get food poisoning.😰

SO GOOD!!!!!!! Very few burgers can match up to the Santa Barbara Charburger. When you take that first bite into the crispy, buttery toast, combined with the fresh guacamole, you know youre in for a good meal. Fries? Always crispy. Ive been about 10 times or so, and every time the fries are the perfect crispness. For those who love to dip their fries, they got you covered. Every portion of ranch you ask for is a good size, and more than enough for your tray of fries. For drinks, besides your average selection of sodas, they also have a few different teas, all of which are good. The Habit is easily one of my favorite burger places near me, and lives up to its name of being a habit to go and eat.

Burgers here are always on point. Service has always been decently quick (given the fact that they can get a long line most times) and they have never messed up my orders or forgotten to give me the condiments Ive requested. Which I would say is a huge plus because it sucks when you want you order with an extra sauce or in this case banana peppers and you get home and you realize they forgot to add them. But Habit hasnt let me down so far.

Theres no char in their char burgers. The food was good but a little expensive. Char cheese burger, sweet potato fry, regular size drink and Santa Barbara char burger was $16.84. The value for what we got didnt match up well. Would rather have gone to In and Out for a better value. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Based on my one and only time being there, I was not overly impressed and probably not going to return any time soon. It wasnt bad but nothing to knock my socks off.

Do not buy the chicken bites. I thought they would have some chicken in them but they turned out mostly breaded flour. Having a grain intolerance made me feel disappointed that they would even sell them with such low quality. I had contemplated buying the super food salad which was just twice the price but a better option. The chicken bites were a six-piece for 4.99... I said I wanted barbecue sauce but they gave me ranch. We also asked for a green tea but it was very weak and they dont come sweetened. They are promoting the chicken bites at the cash register do not feel compelled to buy them, youre better off spending the money on an actual Burger.

Delicious tri tip sandwich! Enough steak in every bite! Fries were perfect! Family had the charbroiled burger, which was slightly dry, thin patty and lots of lettuce for the price. (Only reason for the 4) The side bar option for pepperocinis and jalapenos was super thoughtful and appreciated. Great staff and many drink options which I enjoyed, since I dont care for soda much. Food is ok but cooks need to pay more attention to the order tickets because they got my order all wrong. My wife and I had our food to eat there and we were sitting right next to the order pick up station and we were there for like 50 minutes and never had I seen a restaurant have so many orders returned because they got them wrong. I think we saw like 20 orders returned and redone in those 50 min. We sat there. I also noticed that if you had your order to go they had you waiting there for a long time we saw a couple wait 15 minutes for a couple of burgers and fries.Now let me tell you about the smoke they had us tearing from all the smoke that had accumulated inside the restaurant until they opened up the doors and windows because customers started complaining about the smoke choking them.Bottom line would I recommend the place definitely NO would I go back and give it another chance THATS A BIG NO NO. I will stick to my favorite burger joint IN N OUT no question about it.

Awesome burgers! They rival other popular burger joints in my opinion. The location is very confusing to get to. You have to use the Home Depot parking lot and drive past Panera to get to it. Once you get there, finding your way back to the road, is easy. However, In n Out is right across 4th St and much more accessible. If you dont get distracted by them or Panera, then youll enjoy The Habit. The staff is always very pleasant.

Very disappointed. Waited an hour in line, got my order and the gentleman read my order back. I did not look in bag since he read it back to me. I have finally found it, the only burger joint I will ever need! I tried them recently after being here for just over a year, and kicking myself for not trying them sooner! Im trying not to drool right now just thinking about their amazing food! Oh, and they have MALTED COFFEE SHAKES!!!! Yes, I said MALTED COFFEE SHAKES, and theyre freakng AWESOME!!!! The food was okay. Just okay. The front of the house employees were very nice, but my main issue was that the manager came off as rude and condescending when telling me and my friend that their store policy for customers that walk into the lobby for to-go orders have to wait outside for their food (due to COVID protocols). We were coming from out of town so we werent aware of any of these policies, and the manager talked down to us like we should have known. Nowhere in the establishment was this policy advertised, from what I could tell. Id kind of understand enforcing this policy with a full house of customers dining in, but when I was there, there were only 5-6 other people in the restaurant dining in, it was hot outside, and my friend was on crutches, and they still told us we had to wait outside in the heat for our food. I just feel like there are better ways of implementing safe protocols due to COVID instead of having paying customers waiting out in the heat for the food to be made and given to us especially when this fast food location has a history of taking upwards of 20-30 minites to get the food out. Im not sure if this policy is still in place, as I refuse to go back to this location after experiencing an utter lack of compassion and understanding, but with temperatures rising in the summer months, just be aware if in the event that this is still their stores policy for walk-in togo orders.

I went with my aunt and my daughter on a slow Saturday afternoon. My daughter is only one year old, so obviously shes not eating burgers, but when we got there we ordered our food and I asked if I could just get a side of applesauce for the baby. Their kids menu gives applesauce as an option for a side with a kids burger. I just wanted the sauce and they told me no, sorry, you cant order it separately.Then I went to get our drinks and the Coke was out. I told them and they said their manager would change it right away. Ten minutes go by and I go back to fill the drinks and theyre still out of Coke. I asked if they could fill them using their soda machines they have in the back for the drive through, and they said no, our manager is going to change the soda right now. So much better than your standard burger place. It doesnt compare to In-n-out and Im so glad we found it. The burgers are flame grilled and fresh and absolutely bomb. The only thing I dont suggest is the tritip steak sandwich, it was pretty bland. But you cant go wrong with their charburgers. We will definitely be stopping by on our next road trip!

First time going to this place and it was a bad idea. To begin with, took a long time waiting for the food in the drive thru almost 20 minutes. Secondly, they gave us our food that we ordered in a small bag. I ordered two combos, two extra burgers and an order of onion rings, everything in one small bag. That’s not right, they couldn’t even separate two combos. When we got home, we noticed that the person at the window didn’t even give us our straws. Also, all the wrappers were the same for all four burgers we got. Not even the different burgers were labeled to see which one was which. When we started eating our burgers, the meat was way toooo salty and the the bun was soggy it was disgusting that we had to throw them away. Not to mention the food was expensive for this type of service. First and last time going here.

When we went on Sunday we went thinking they closed at 11 PM as stated online but to our dismay we found that they closed at 10. New establishment in El Centro. Understand staff are familiarizing themselves, so I’m providing my input constructively. I ordered chicken salad w/ fried chicken vs. grilled. Batter was not thoroughly cooked. My husband ordered the same but grilled. His chicken tasted old and was cold not hot. The salad themselves were not cold. More like room temperature. Need to make sure what needs to be cold is served cold. And what needs to be hot is hot and savory. I suggest managers self-audit and taste some of the food going out. Would hate to loose a good restaurant.

The hamburgers are ok, but expensive. The fries are ok, but expensive. The tea options are good, the menu has decent diversity. The use of mayonnaise was liberal and the flavor was minimal. Fortunately the star of the menu was the fried green beans. They are cooked to crispy and delicious perfection. Those green beans are the only reason I would go back, and just for those, especially with the in n out across the street. Id probably buy some green beans and buy my burgers from in n out.

Ive come to the Habit in El Centro a half dozen times already... the food has been pretty good overall... burgers have solid flavor, but fries have always been soggy. The wait time has been ridiculous everytime I have come....both dine in and drive through. I made a mistake on a drive through order and realized I was missing a burger after I got home. I called in to place the missing burger order over the phone in hopes of cutting down on the wait time. What a terrible experience - the lady was rude over the phone, charged my cc, and then told me it would be almost 30 mins for the order to be ready. I asked her for options and finally asked to cancel it and waited on hold for over 5 mins... she then gave me an excuse that no supervisors were available and I told her not to worry about the cancellation and I was on my way to pick it up. 10 mins later she calls me back and tells me that she cancelled it.... what the?!?! I told her that I had just arrived to pick it up and it should have been ready in a few mins. She went on to lecture me about how its lunch rush and it was my fault. No empathy, no apology, didnt provide any options...just began to dig into me when I said that the experience was terrible and then she hung up on me. I was at the restaurant and there were 2 cars at the drive through window and most of the parking lot was empty.

I waited 40 minutes in the drive thru, ok new place need to wait. When I placed my order for my entire family, one item I requested was a charbroiled hamburger, worker asked with cheese, I said No cheese. After I made my complete order and was repeated back, worker added cheese to the burger, so again I said No cheese and then repeated my order back finally correct. I got home found out they forgot my chicken club sandwich, bummer, luckily I live close, went back to the habit walked inside and asked for the manager, I told the manager I did not get my chicken club sandwich at the drive thru and showed my receipt, the manager without saying a word took my receipt told the workers to make the sandwich. I waited about 5 minutes and the manager gave me my sandwich and said I also gave you some fries too. I thought thats nice and told the manager I want to give you some advise, common courtesy dictates when someone makes a mistake an apology is given and I didnt get one. Then the manager said she apologized before, I told her I didnt hear it, and she said thats because with a really raspy voice she cant talk loud as she is sick. I said ok you have laryngitis and then said goodbye. I would of given one star, but the food was good, however fries can be too salty for some.

We have been eating at many Habit locations for many years in the Bay and LA area with no issues. This is the first time they get our order this bad or bad at all. First, they gave us meat in all three burgers when we paid extra for one to be made with a veggie patty. My son ended up spitting it up when he realized it was meat. Then they put portobello on our double char instead of the avocado. Also, my burger was missing avocado I paid for. We were given regular fries instead of garlic fries. And finally, for some odd reason our chocolate malt shakes had what seemed as peanuts in them. This one along with the meat instead of veggie can kill someone with an allergic reaction. I can understand one honest mistake possibly even two but jesus, they messed up the majority of the order. I do not know if we will be back after this. During this Covid situation I do not want to have to inspect our orders with gloves to make sure they correctly prepared our food. It is not cool at all.
