Stayed for a night due to out of town job it was nice the beds were comfy and they were accommodating to our needs free morning breakfast was really good I highly recommend its to bad not all experiences can be perfect but mine was great it was fine guess it depends on whether you have to have a king size bed or settle for double queen i mean its a bed you have one be happy because there are literally people out there who would love to have any bed its a luxury some of us have the advantage of having our pick of what kind of bed right just saying
If I could give 0 stars I would. Jose is extremely rude and argumentative. We made reservations three weeks in advance and at arrival learned that Jose had canceled our room even though we never asked him to. He proceeded to argue with my friend who made the reservation and even was making rude commentary under his breath in front of us. He then turned the tables and said we never made a reservation in the first place and the hotels there do not send emails about your reservations which is untrue. My friend even had email proof we made the reservation and I was a witness to her never canceling it and even checking in for the rooms on the app (even with our mobile check in he still canceled). After a long time and it taking five more people from my group explaining the situation we got rooms. Throughout our stay Jose continued to make comments toward us and be extremely rude. It made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. When we reached out to the general manager he hung up on us so we had to reach corporate. I hope something is done about this because it’s unacceptable to treat guests like that especially if it’s a mistake on their end.
WOW! Its definitely a classy place to stay. Great atmosphere, and theres live music on certain nights. Surprisingly, you cant hear it in your room, so very peaceful.
The hotel was very nice, I will say it does need some renovations but still a nice hotel. Everyone working at the hotel were very kind. I was having trouble with my A/C and TV and front desk sent maintenance up to my room. I was amazed at how fast David from maintenance came to my room and knew exactly what was wrong with the A/C and TV.
The hotel staff was really great and attentive.I had a leak in my bathroom in front the ceiling. They had to come twice to fix it.The hotel carpet looked really bad.Hotel could use some attention. Other than these things it was a nice stay.
We stayed in room 407 over the weekend for the Ohana Fest.This hotel needs a lot of work. Our room was dirty, stains on the furniture and spiders in our room. Paint was peeling from the walls and the dresser drawer would not stay shut. Please see our pictures for more details. We will not return. We feel we wasted our hotel points at this place :(
Positive: They allowed me to check in early. The staff was amazing! The shower was great! I got 2 free drink tickets for the bar. Negative: The room smelled like wet dog/cat. There were stains on my couch, and the hallway carpet was torn and loose. This hotel is not worth the price they are charging.
Very underwhelmed, the pictures make this place look so much nice then it is. Room felt dirt, couch had tons of stains. Room and bathroom so not match what I was given. Place just really feels run down. Will not be staying here again.

Room was clean and staff was responsive- that is the only thing good about this hotel. Suffice it to say, spend your money elsewhere.The toilet was broken the first night. They fixed it the next day. Parking in their huge parking lot costs $20 a night - hotel guests are supposed to receive free drinks and bottles of water in the room. We didnt. The bathroom has no fan and smelled musty. I could go on and on, but you get the idea...
The rooms are disgusting especially the furnitures that have many dirty spots on them. I couldnt sit on any of them.In and out rooms carpet was unfinished, full hazards and dirty. The hotel propert is neglected. Management has to pay attention more other wise this is by far the one of the worst hotel I have visited in my life.But I have to be fair the staff all of them are welcoming and the lobby area is nice.
Past it’s prime, a bit like me, but doing it right by focusing its resources on great room details and updates. The hallway carpeting is long overdue for replacement. So outdoor fake grass doesn’t even come close to running straight any more. Still, I enjoyed looking through the unused meeting rooms, but it was so sad to see all the artwork taken down from the walls in the gallery. And, we loved the velvet furniture in the commons area throughout, and even with only a few people in the pool area, they kept staff right there to offer food and drinks. I still gave it four stars because the beds, pillows, and bedding were perfect, and the staff were spot on with doing their best with what they had to offer, which made us feel welcome and taken care of. Oh, and the coffee and eggs Benedict were really good, too.
We visited in September 2022. The Hotel was good to find, parking directly in Front so no long walking or searching. Lady at Front desk Was very nice. We got a room on the lower floor, so room size and bathroom looked good. View was not so good (looking and the backyard which was concrede and some broken stuff) since we booked just a few hours before arrival it was ok tho. Pool area is not inviting and Workout area is basically just a normal room with a few machines but also not inviting. Entrance Hall looks great. There was a highway right next to hotel but i could hardly hear it, so it was ok, if you are sensitive about it, better ask for room which is located to other direction. Was totally fine and we would def. come again.
Came with my gf I was super excited because Id always wanted to stay here and boy was I disappointed and completely grossed out. The hotel needs to be tented theres an infestation of roaches here we did not stay the night I wasnt comfortable knowing there were roaches roaming around.
The hotel room was clean, the hall way carpet was worn out. Brad at the reception was amazing! He checked us in and helped us out with changing our room. All in all its a good hotel
We stayed here so we could access Laguna Beach is a short 10 minute ride to Laguna Beach from the Hills hotel. Rooms are clean beds are comfy… the television programming had a lot of Christian promotional material.
Positive: The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom worked. Negative: The whole place is a dump. Frayed carpet in the halls, beat up trim, poor paint jobs, etc. Just generally a very sub par building. On top of it all, there was a cricket in my room that kept me awake all night. I paid over $--- for this place. Rip
Positive: Easy access to the freeway. Has a microwave oven. Negative: There is only halfway shower door so water splashes all over the bathroom floor when showering. The couch is dingy and dirty. I was charged extra $---and was told it was a glitch on their system. I still have not received a refund.
The low rating is in regards to the staff charging the card on file for incidentals the full rate of the room. As this was a business trip and the room was already paid for I was left scratching my head why hundreds of dollars of unauthorized charges left me without the use of my card for a week. Even after the issue was brought up to the manager Angie, I awoke the next day with another attempted charge.On a better note, the food was great, jacuzzi was HOT, and the room was spacious with a nice bathroom and shower.
The rooms are spacious. They have a decent sized menu for breakfast. Bar in the evenings. Pool and hot tub located on side of building. Big parking structure and oversized vehicles in back. It is located right of the freeway exit. Overall, its a very nice hotel. The only issues are at night the rooms are very cold and the shower floors dont drain the water properly, shower doors open while showering. Worth staying👍
I had a hispanic overweight opening his mouth while serving me orange juice. I am American Korean, white inside. Also, the window has no screen. Does that mean I can smoke in my room? But the Filipino lady told me no smoking in the room. She also has an accent, which is hard for Americans to understand. Also, chair has 2 rips and needs to be replaced.
The Hills Hotel stood out as an elegant hotel with modern decor, chandeliers, and an inviting atmosphere. My wife and I knew right away that we found a gem! Its nicely situated close to Dana Point and Laguna Beach, two of the nicest beaches in the Los Angeles area. The price per night is exceptional, and its accurately as 3-star hotel, but the cleanliness, friendly staff, and open atmosphere are on another level. Well definitely be staying here again.
We were truly guests in need, as a sudden death in the family required moving my son out of a residence which had become unsuitable. The whole staff, especially ❤️Lynn❤️, treated us like family and were unfailingly nice to us throughout our visit!

Nice central location if visiting the Orange County/Irvine area. The room was well priced when I visited, and it was clean. I did not find myself lacking while staying here and the staff were kind and accommodating. The cafe and bar were very nice for a morning or evening drink.
Stayed 5 nights for work. At first, it had that This used to be nice vibe. Its dated. It shows its age. But the rooms were spacious & very clean. Housekeeping is by request only so I did every other day, and they really did a great job. They give you 1 free bar drink every night you spend there, which was nice. The location is great. Right off the 5, 15-20 minutes from SNA & the beach. It kinda grew on me! 🤷♂️ I think Ill stay there again.
Dont bother; find another place to stay. Reserved a single King room, given a room with two queen beds. Thermostat would alternate between heat and AC automatically while trying to maintain room temp. Very loud highway noise all night. Beds were uncomfortable. Bathroom was in need of repairs. Carpeting in hallways is buckling. Stayed four days, and room was never serviced. One day the lobby smelled like backed up sewer. Easily the worst IHG property Ive ever stayed at. Never again!
Positive: Clean, nicely kept up older hotel. Friendly staff, great bed, huge TV with options to stream content. Negative: Worst water pressure in any hotel over the past 35 years. Complained the first day and they replaced the showerhead which did not help. It was equivalent to water coming out of a drinking fountain.
The hotel shows all the signs of management on the cheap: an untrained staff and poor maintenance. Our reservation included breakfast but there is no breakfast bar (except on special occasions). They gave us a voucher but it turns out its for only specific breakfasts, and the cafe tried to charge us. This could have been avoided with clear communications to both guests and internally. Moreover the hotel is somewhat dingy and not well maintained. We cut our time and moved to a better (and cheaper) place.
First, I booked this hotel for a last minute work trip and needed a hotel with good wifi and business center. The website advertised that they had complimentary wifi in the rooms as well as a 24/7 business center. When I checked in and went to the room to work, the wifi wouldnt connect. I tried several more times and was finally able to connect but the signal is so low that I couldnt load my simple Gmail inbox or Slack. I went downstairs to find the business center and the lady at the frontdesk said they didnt have one. I told her that the website advertised one and she said it is only open at certain times. I asked what those times were and she said it was closed, thats it. When I told her that the wifi connection was poor in the room she asked what do you want me to do about it? So I used my personal hotspot on my phone all day.Second, the functionality and design of these rooms are poor. You have to be completely undressed and immerse yourself under the shower head for you to turn on the shower. The towels were in no logical order in the bathroom so I ended up using a bathmat as a towel since it was with the other normal bath towel. The bathroom door does not close or lock. As another reviewer mentioned, t thermostat would alternate between heat and AC automatically while trying to maintain room temp. Constantly cold or warm, and the system is super loud.Im not expecting the Four Seasons, but I am expecting what is advertised and promised when booking a hotel. And not having a business center or adequate wifi to perform basic work tasks is a deal breaker.
It presents a fancy place when you 1st walk in. Its an older hotel, room needed minor fixes, we just did without. Bathroom door would not lock, and sliding door track was held down with tape and came up with use.The beds are good come with 4 pillows and comfortable. Nice cold fridge, but no microwave. It was fine for our needs, and they accept pets at $50. a night.
The staff was great, the room was extremely good. The bed was soft and very comfortable. We were there to visit family after losing a family member many years too soon, so we were not there in the best of spirits. The staff there were very nice and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again in the future.
About 80 women were there for a celebratory luncheon. The service was outstanding and all did an excellent job attending to so many with so few. The food was served hot and fresh, and the servings were not skimpy. Taste and presentation were great!There was a lot going on and timing was important. The microphones worked, the table set up was lovely and it was a very enjoyable time.

When we arrived Saturday evening from a wedding we had to park away from the hotel bc there was an event going on, that was an inconvenience.

I needed a room for a friend upcoming wedding event, when I booed it online, it says the contract rate was expired and I ended up paying $100 more, bummer. I then tried to contact the front desk. A gentleman named Ronny was very friendly and helpful, he fixed my booking right away, offered the lower price, and helped another friend of mine to adjust her room rate as well. Service matters, and Ronny sure did a great job to make the hotel a pleasant experience for us!
Nice boutique hotel but does need some renovation in certain parts of the hotel. The staff were friendly and provided great service. I wouldn’t recommend eating breakfast at their restaurant as everything was very mediocre but there are plenty of restaurants around within the walking distance.
For a three stars hotel it was good. Very clean, they provide anything you need. You have towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash and conditioner, make up remover tissue, coffee maker, fridge, iron.. and slippers, tooth brush and toothpaste under request!I recommend this place!

Disappointed. Unacceptable noise from the freeway on the I-5 side of the building. Otherwise it is an average hotel. Clean. Comfortable bed. Some of the furniture showed signs of being worn and damage. Like many hotels, they cut housekeeping and reduce the amenities in the room. Less coffee service. You have to ask for housekeeping. Other than irritating me I wasnt impacted since it was a single night. If you are staying multiple days who wants garbage to pile up particularly if the room has a microwave and fridge. Its ridiculous to have to deal with a request. Ill say no to a second stay. There are quieter places to stay. Surprised nobody from The HIlls ever responds to the reviews here. That says alot about the management.

Negative: *Angie, the front office manager, needs to retire. Her level of professionalism is appalling. She informed me she was listening to my conversation through my door. *The bathroom faucets and shower are falling apart. *Furniture is stained.

Couldnt sleep because they put us in the room by the elevator. Café is overpriced. Hotel looks pretty, but is run down. There was no way to find the room service menu or any details on amenities given. Must ask staff for help with everything because they sure wont offer the help. Your on your own here. Probably better to just go to an Airbnb instead.

Unfortunately, didnt even get the opportunity to stay here. Had a family emergency and needed a room for the night. For some reason the website was allowing us to book any room, so when I called to book the room, I was quoted significantly higher than their own site. When I asked why, she said we needed to book on the site to get that price, even though I explained that the site wasnt working. Again she said we needed to book on the site and to have a nice day...click. Hopefully they will get their site working so others wont run into the same experience.
This is probably one of the worst hotels I ever been too. They say it’s a non-smoking hotel but every room smells like cigarettes smoke. We asked to be move to a different room, which they did, almost 5 minutes later, they said we were making to much noise?? We just got in the room, they asked us to move, which we did. The third room they moved us too, the shower floor was coming off, literally coming off, melting. We spoke to the maintenance person and he said they should’ve not moved you to this room because it was a crack on the shower floor. We are now in the 4th room and not one time did anyone apologize for the inconvenience. There was no manager on duty that gave us a call to ask if everything was ok. We would have left but we had to be at a certain place at a certain time. The next day we ask if there was any compensation for the inconvenience and the manager on duty, Angie, said “NO!!” She said there was no reason why they should give one. She didn’t apologize and she was very rude. I was with my family and unfortunately are small trip was ruined. I hope this helps someone NOT to go to this hotel.
This was a beautiful hotel, nicely appointed with great amenities in a convenient location. However, the room air conditioner was loud and went on and off thru out the night. That one fact was a real bummer bc it kept me from getting a good nights sleep...kinda the point of staying in a good hotel.
There were absolutely no parking spaces when we arrived due to a wedding being held here last night. I paid $197 for a room that didnt have a microwave and the fan in the bathroom didnt work. I would not recommend this place based on my experience. If you end up staying here, I hope your experience goes better.
Negative: Shower slow to to drain and bathroom door didnt close completely, would open. Raised issues with staff and was fixed as stated. Would have preferred no issues. Marijuana smell in lobby in one occasion. Not enough electrical outlets, plugs slid out
If you have a dog- they will give you the worst room at the end of the hallway where the back doors slam every time someone comes in and out. The jacuzzi is also right outside your window where drunk guests blast techno music. The remote didnt work, there is an odor in the room. The furnishings are torn up, outdated and stained. The hotel is dilapidated. I definitely expected more than this. Do it come here if you need a good nights sleep!
Hi there, well Im not sure exactly how to rate a place that I was only here for under 1 hour!!! I left to go to my car and was Stopped Escorted to my Room unable to use ky card and used a white card supplied by management...saying that they didnt charge my card correctly. I returned to the front desk and was charged correctly for the 3rd time via looking at my bank account and charged. I just hope 🙏 no one else has to experience what I did.Not even a coherent response. Good luck people. e
This hotel is ok. I prefer a larger room, nevertheless it was decent. There is a cafe for breakfast you can pay extra for. Most places will at least give you free coffee, not here.

I’ve never stayed. However I’ve been a few times for grocery union events. The staff at the hotel are very nice and accommodating. The hotel has tons of parking available and is just a beautiful looking hotel from the inside. When I do need a hotel in the future I’ll give them a call.
The beds are comfortable. But the pillows... Good service. Short staffed. Location is great. Right off the fwy. But there is no room with nice window scenery right now due to construction and the location itself.

Stayed here for the first time this past weekend and was very underwhelmed. The photos on their site are not representative of the quality of the hotel. It feels very much like the premises have been passed through several owners, the most recent of which have just painted over the preexisting issues. Mismatched paint. Stained hallway carpets. Very worn laminate flooring. Just felt like we were paying a premium for the photos on their site, not the actual hotel itself. Additionally we stayed in room 232 and the air conditioner clearly hadn’t received any kind of attention for a long time as it made a ton of noise and kept us up at night. Overall, do not recommend.
Hotel fine but if you need internet, theirs is no good. For over an hour and a half waiting for them to reset internet (no internet available).and they still havent done it. If you need internet you might want a hotel that actually has good internet or someone who is able to reset it.
The experience happened April 7th at 12 pm. I went to visit my friend for literally 10 min who was staying at the hotel and naturally brought my service dog with me as I always do. The Asian woman at the desk named Teresa, demanded to know what room / guest we were visiting, and started refusing to let me bring “my pet” with me, even though I explained that he was a service animal, not a pet, and that legally they are allowed to go anywhere their person needs them. I asked if she was asking these questions in be able to charge my friend, and she admitted so. She wasn’t going to mention that at all, because she just wants to hurt people. I debated with her to let me wait outside my friends door with my service animal, but she was not listening. If I passed her, she was going to charge my friend a pet fee, a $250 cleaning fee, whether or not the service dog even entered the room. I was forced to wait outside in 93 degree weather further putting my health conditions at risk. This is not a kind place for anyone with a sickness, or disability.
What I love most about this hotel is its strategic location.The establishment is near several destinations like beaches, shopping centers, nightlife and dining places. Despite being near the highway, I was surprised of its low-level noise when Im inside my room. I still managed to have a very good and uninterrupted sleep. Speaking of hotel rates, its very affordable. The room I rented is well furnished, very spacious and cozy. Offers great food. I had a great time relaxing at the outdoor pool. And lastly, the people are very warm and offers excellent service. To sum up my experience in this hotel, I had a great time during my 2-day stay there. Highly recommended to travellers planning to visit California, The Hills Hotel is your home away from home.
I had such a bad experience at this hotel that I would never book it again. I paid 900$ for 5 nights. I had to beg the receptionist in order to clean my room after the 3rd day and by the way that was the only time they cleaned my room. For Breakfast you just had 2 options. So I had to ate 5 mornings in a row American Breakfast. It’s so disgusting that i can never eat American breakfast in my life again. A friend of mine wanted to play the Piano at the lobby because he is a pianist by profession. The hotel didn’t wanted to give us the keys to unlock the piano. The stuff is very unfriendly and service unoriented. One of ugliest stays in Southern California. One thing is shure you will me never see again in your hotel. I’m honestly not the person to writing reviews but for you I have to make an exception.

I usually dont write reviews but here it goes. There is one gentleman here who is incredible and I dont know his name however, this hotel is somewhere Ill never stay again. The vending machine ate my money (its $4 a drink fyi) and so I called for help. The worker asked me to swipe again and I asked if it would take my money again and he said no. Well, it did and so we went to the front desk. They made me wait 20 minutes to tell me I have to call the credit card company to dispute the charge.. well, its a company credit card as Im here for business and it makes it more complicated. On top of that. There was a stain on my bed sheet as well as my toilet being dirty upon arrival. So long story short, even me staying here on the companies dime, Id still not stay here.
We stayed at the Hills for a business trip. The rooms are moderately comfortable standard corporate type rooms. Nothing extraordinary whatsoever. The decor was not too worn, but the style is a bit odd and out-of-date. The room windows arent operable, so its pretty necessary to use the air conditioner. The days were warm, so in order to keep the cool a reasonably comfortable temperature it was necessary to run it constantly. While in bed the air was directed straight at my right arm, so that side of me and my arm were super-cooled and frigid even though the overall room temperature was fine. The pool and hot tub are tiny, so if youre someone who loves to lounge around a nice hotel pool youll likely be disappointed with this one.
Great place for business trips, not a desirable travel destination. Modern decor has a nice feel and staff is friendly. Price accommodates to lower budgets. Lacks some of the commonly expected amenities like toiletries, pre stocked mini fridge, breakfast, etc. The electronics are a bit dated as well. The freeway facing rooms can be noisy at times however being able to pull the drapes back while maintaining privacy is a worthy trade off in my opinion.
Clean and conveniently located. The Restaurant downstairs is pretty decent. Its close to several restaurants within walking distance. I always try to stay at this hotel. I like the rooms, newly renovated. Not much of a gym to exercise, only treadmills and recumbent bike. Overall a good hotel for the price.
It is a cute place and was very clean. Rooms are updated and modern. The beds were a little smaller than we were expecting. The late night front staff was not the greatest at check in. Not very clear when questions were asked. He almost seemed irritated to be there.They charged the room deposit twice. The cups in our room were never replaced even though we asked. They said they pool would be open the next day and it wasnt. They were prepping the pool area for 3 days.
Nice place to stay. I was there for weeding weekend. Great place with nice staffs. Comfort and cozy place with modern decoration. Love the front hall with chairs around the piano. The restaurant is good as well as the bar.The area is convenient to me with gas right at the corner, Chase and Starbucks. There are also some quick bite around the area with walking distance. Next to highway 5 for easy access to anywhere and Irvine Spectrum.Recommend and I will stay here again.
I stayed a few months ago for business and this hotel is beautiful. They were working on the pool at the time, but the bar and the restaurant were very nice. The staff was very polite and even traded our breakfast vouchers for drink vouchers! Our rooms were spacious, clean, and very elegant. I would totally stay again!
Quite a nice place if youre looking for a place to stay without emptying your wallet. Rooms are nice, contemporary, and more than adequate. The staff do a great job at accommodating, as well as making sure everything is clean. I have stayed here for two separate trips, and both times have succeeded my expectations. Complimentary breakfast is offered, a hot one at that. Expect bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, roast potatoes, OJ, the whole American Diner experience. In terms of amenities, the pool area is wonderful, the patio is clean. The gym is sparse, with only a few treadmill machines, but that is to be expected. There is a restaurant downstairs, in the bar in which to relax and go for a couple drinks. The Hills Hotel also allows for larger events, I have personally seen both a wedding and a quinceanera. Nice place.
This hotel has a very cool vibe. I lived at The Hills from August 31st 2018 until April 25th 2019. I had my shoulder replaced while living here, and the staff was better than family to me at all times. I also lost my father, my two children and my only home while living at this hotel and the staff here were kind, compassionate and understanding throughout all of the trials and tribulations I went through while I lived here as a long term guest / resident of this hotel. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont miss being among the staff who are (not were) friendly, kind, compassionate and professional at all times. if youre ever in need of place to stay for more than a day or two and one if you like youre at home this is the only hotel to go to. Hotel is very clean, staff is very nice and helpful. The Emerald lounge was dead the night I was there but the food was good. Only complaint I have is with the TV in the room. It is small and the colors were not sharp. Needs to be updated. Other than that hotel has easy access from freeway and I would stay there again.
Our stay at this hotel was excellent. After reading some of the reviews online I was anticipating a run-down Hotel and dirty rooms but that was not the case. The room was immaculate, air conditioning, everything was really great. The pool and spa were clean. The only drawback was that the only had ice located on the first floor.
Room service for Breakfast is very fast. Food is very delicious. Room is clean and have plenty of towels in the Bathroom for you to use. Will come back & recommend this hotel to others! Thanks Tessa F., we really appreciate you!
Nice hotel. Beautiful Inside. I stayed here for my friends wedding. The Crystal Ballroom was gorgeous! Staff was very friendly and helpful.Only docked this 1 star because my hotel bathroom had a leaky shower head which sprayed all over the place. They quickly replaced it. My drawer seemed to sit on a slope. The drawers would not stay closed. Lastly. My the bathroom sink is a horrible design. No counters pace. To get to my things I have to rarch over the sink. Just odd design and placement in my opinion.

The hotel and staff were wonderful! The gentleman kindly helped me at the front fest and proceeded to wall me to my room while telling me about the different things the hotel had available.The room was nicely done up with 2 full sized beds, a big tv, desk area, and bathroom. The only thing I found odd was the strange shower door, it didnt close all the way leaving a gap for water to escape. Other than that everything was great.
I don’t know if we were just doomed for a bad trip lol it wasn’t fun for other reasons but the hotel was beautiful. The cleaning staff were incredibly kind and respectful. The view was not so nice there is a huge beautiful window that looks out to the noisy highway. A unnecessary charge was placed onto our bill and when management didn’t want to listen to us we had to come back and speak to one of the front desk guys who was incredible and weaved the fee for us.

Friendly staff. Its much larger than I expected. I know that at one point, the hotel gave special rates to large groups who booked blocks of hotel rooms, so you may want to reach out to see if they still do that. It overlooks the freeway, but the noise isnt too bad. Its walking distance from a Starbucks, and a few fast food places.
Really interesting boutique hotel. Property has been restored to its original art-deco charm. Restaurant and bar are excellent. Rooms are all remodeled and done in dark wood, browns, and sandstone colors. Great pricing in the $120 - 150 range. Much nicer than many other hotels in this price range. Immediate access to the 405 Freeway, but not noisy at all. Definitely a hidden gem!
We used the conference room for school use and the staff was very helpful in every way. The Hill Hotel has easy and convenience in the location to the 5 freeway in South Orange County. I highly recommend this location for your conference needs.
Check in was super easy. The rooms are nice but instead of the usual 2 queen beds they only have 2 small double beds. And no microwave in the room. But overall a nice updated room. I also had a meal and drinks in the lounge which is a cute little place to grab a late bite.
The room was nice. The bathroom door was hard to slide close which is inconvenient for a shared room. The alarm clock was making a weird sound so we had to unplug it. There was a weird leak over the shower. But the service was nice and all the employees were very welcoming.
If your looking for a poor nights sleep this is the place for you! Listen to your favorite 18 wheelers drive by all night long on your rock hard bed! You can also take bets on how long the squealing ac will work before it kicks out and needs a break. Your better off to turn it off and sweat your time out. No need to pack a nightlight, the poorly fitting door lets all kinds of light in! The Hills should be a 2 star at best. Don’t let the fancy name fool you, this place is a dump.
The service of this hotel too bad. We did not get any bad experience to stay like, actually we did not see any hotel bad like this before. The don’t have any microwave inside the hotel room. They do focus on their restaurant business only, not service about the customer who stays in hotel room and want to get more money from customer for evert moment. They did cheap shampoo and lotion there. Only shower jell but rug. No toothpaste and brushes there. Limited of towel.This hotel is not familiar and not polite behavior.At last we left iphone original charger inside the room by accident but they took our charger and did not give us back.
Overall a nice hotel, not great but good! Its hit or miss, some parts like the entrance are stunning, but then the fitness center is 2 broken treadmills and a bike. Or the relaxing area by the pool is gorgeous, but then the pool itself is not something Id want to get in. But the rooms are nice, the staff is friendly and you get what you pay for!

We brought two toddlers. Its fancier than I expected, with a lounge and restaurant and chandelier-lit ballrooms and a piano in the spacious lobby. Lots of cool lighting and interesting furniture around the numerous sitting places and alcoves. Our room is comfortable, 2 full size beds, TV with lots of channels, clean, wall size window looking over the highway, mini fridge, but no microwave, and my kids were miffed that there was only a shower, no bath. Also, dont expect continental breakfast, but you can buy nice food. Excellent WiFi. Very helpful, friendly staff. Overall, beautiful place in a convenient location, just doesnt have the little practical benefits my little kids and I anticipated.
Absolutely impeccable service. The stay here will remind you of the quality from days gone by. I dont know why i have read water was not hot. I relish long hot showers and was not disappointed.. The beds were very comfy our rooms were next to freeway yet did not notice much sound transfer. Travel from Vegas to Washington and back. I can honestly say this has been one of my favorite hotels. Thanks largely to the staff.
Customer Service, the room, location and dinner were excellent. That said, there was a good amount of noise in the middle of the night. Doors opening and closing and some conversation. The front desk told me that the ambulance EMTs stay there, and the room (s) are right near where I was and that was the reason for the noise. Having spent $260 to stay there and not have a good nights sleep was really upsetting. What also disturbed me is that I advised the front desk that my dog was certified as an emotional support dog. I was surprised that they didnt waive the pet fee. Since posting this review I was contacted by the Front Desk Manager of the hotel. They sincerely apologized for failing to meet my expectations and advised me to contact them directly the next time I plan a stay there. In addition, they reimbursed me the $50 pet fee. I am very impressed with their customer service and would definitely stay there again.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.Great service from the hotel front desk. This hotel is very clear, rooms and the lobby. Parking is free. Starbucks across the street. House keeping did a great job cleaning my due my kids making a big mess and honest. They have bar and restaurant also. Love this place. I will go back in a heart beat.
Great deal and neighborhood. Hotel staff very professional and curtious. Beds were comfortable. Room and bathroom were spotless. Good nite sleep. Parking was plentiful. Only one bad thing, is the windows were very very dirty, hardly can see out of them. Looks like they havent been cleaned in 10 years.
I would stay here again in a heart beat. Rooms are huge. I just love the fresh, sleek decor. Service is great. Its a great location in southern OC. I didnt even have to put a card on file for a security deposit. Free parking. There was a big Indian wedding there one night. It was super loud but I couldnt hear anything from my room. Thats exactly how its supposed to work! Its even right across from a Starbucks. If there was anything that wasnt ideal its the weak coffee. I used both coffee bags and 4 cups of water and it was incredibly weak. Keurig would have been better. The second morning I walked to Starbucks.
This is a great hotel to stay at. The amenities are well kept and the staff is friendly. The only reason I gave three stars is due to the fact that they have a severe potential lawsuit on their hands due to the fact that in the parking lot on the east side there is a staircase at the edge of the property that has two separate metal pieces lodged into the cement. These metal pipes jut out at around 3 and 10 inches and are immediately at the top stair. Someone is going to not see them and probably fall down around 9 stairs that are very steep. They need to fix this IMMEDIATELY! Hopefully a manger does something about this immediately before someone’s loved one gets hurt or worse. I also have photos of the pipes and the immediate stairs.
I have a service animal so they were very accommodating. The hotel is super cute loved it, the rooms are very modern. The downside is that the beds are super small. One was super soft and the other super firm, I felt like goldilocks. I would stay there again but only choose king beds.
Fake nice. Some of the staff was nice. Some of the staff flaunted self-satisfied superiority. Some of the staff were some real jerk-wads. The TV didnt work. There wasnt the advertised hairdryer. Great view. Very clean. Would do again.
I would not recommend this hotel. The room was dirty, remnants from prior guests left behind, and had multiple maintenance issues including lighting not working. I called multiple times to ask maintenance to come fix the issues but they never showed up throughout my 4 day stay. Staff was unhelpful and the hotel was extremely noisy.
Great location. We came in late from Disneyland and were out early. The shower floor felt like it wasn’t solid. The rooms and baths were all recently renovated. I loved this hotel. I was shocked and so impressed when I walked in. My room was perfect. The front desk and housekeeping were pleasant and did great jobs. The buffet breakfast was excellent quality and service. I very highly recommend The Hills Hotel to everybody. The cost was very fair. Ill only book The Hills Hotel when I come back.

Ok accommodations. Seems a little dated, but our room was clean and staff was nice. My only concern were the numerous trashy vehicles in the parking lot that had suspicious individuals sleeping them or hanging around. My wife didnt want to go to our vehicle at night.
Interior design looks nice, good atmosphere, staff is very friendly, free parking and internet service and everything we need, all good. Only the most important thing, the soundproof effect is terrible, me and my husband barely had any sleep (maximum 3 hours from 3-6 because thats when nobody is up) because of that when the main function of hotels is to provide customers good rest.... We keep being waken up by the sounds of running water whenever theres people in other rooms using it, staff walking on the aisle pushing the chart, people talking outside of the window, things dropping on the floor etc.... Also surprisingly theres no fan in the restroom, awkward :/ ...... Such a tiring stay... Really hope that the owner can do something about it cuz I really like the people here.
We were looking for a place for 2 adults and 2 kids to stay Sat to Sun over Labor Day weekend. Found the Hills Hotel (our first and likely last visit) to have availability, along with the price range and proximity to other places that we were wanting to visit. It’s right off the freeway and near shopping, restaurants, & quick drive and your at the beach. The room we stayed was comfortable but the smell upon walking in told us someone definitely had smoked in it previously (I requested non-smoking). Cleaning crew should do a better job of making rooms ready for the next guests.It also could use some updating as the wallpaper in bedroom and weatherstripping for the window was peeling and all chewed up. Although the big window offered plenty of light and a cool I5 freeway view at night, the noise could be helped with newer windows. It became white noise after a while but startling when a semi or loud motorcycle went by. The pool was cozy, refreshing, and quiet, but some bottles and trash left behind. Jacuzzi had a good heat but the jets were too low. Bring your own towel, because even though they provide them, when available the towels are tiny and thin.Unfortunately, the hot water decided to give up Sunday morning...while one was taking a shower. I called and was told some other people had mentioned the same thing and maintenance had been called. He was sorry. Couple hours later, still no hot water and we’re packing up to leave. At checkout, nothing was offered except an apology. I had asked but there was nothing they can do. Bummer. Customer service can go a long way and sometimes be the saving grace for companies. I am not one for always looking for freebies, but I do appreciate being offered something for my trouble or inconvenience.
Modern rooms that arent cramped! Huge window!! Wonderful size closet! Included is a bath robe and slippers that arent too cheap to keep and bring home! *+++*Shower is small but there is a rainfall showerhead (which i love). Safe in room, big mini fridge. Beds were pretty hard, but nice and topped with 4 pillows on each bed. Closet includes an extra pillow and cotton blanket.
The Hills hotel is one of the best of the Ascend group that I have stayed at. Everything is clean and well maintained from the landscaping to the bathroom. THE RESTAURANT IS WORTH A VISIT ON ITS OWN! I wish the restaurant was open for dinner. The simple but well thought out menu will be expanded with much more good food. The lunches and breakfast meals I had were fantastic. I live in Tennessee, so itll be a while before I get back. At that time I hope the Hills restaurant can be open for dinner.Id be happy to stay again when Im in southern Orange County.
Very courteous and kind staff - exceptional. The hotel is extremely dated though - although the lobby, bar and restaurant have been renovated. The room was not impressive, the bathroom is straight out of the 1960s - complete with paint chips.The food in the restaurant is very good and very quick service. If management can get the hotel renovated - this will be a winner.Wifi in the room is quite good - worthless WiFi in the restaurant.Great neighborhood too - Starbucks right across the street and 5 Freeway access.
I sometimes feel, that COVID has become that best possible excuse to be mediocre and have something to blame it on. The hotel is running on empty. You get an uncomfortable hard bed, and nothing else. No breakfast as advertised as part of the deal, which we paid for. No restaurant or room service to order from. Just a cocktail hour from 5-9. I guess it would have at least helped to have had a good nights sleep on a cushy pillow top as advertised. Nope.
Fast friendly check in. Walking to my room I notice trash filled halls.once I opened the room door the smell of wet moldy funk hit me in the face. I noticed in the room the 2 lamps where bent and leaning odd. There where stains on walls and carpet . The dresser had what looked like a huge semen stain on dresser face. When I went to adjust the ac and noticed the AC vents where full of food crumbs and trash. There is a white hounds tooth chair in the room that is now beige and grey covered in stains. The bathroom was clean but cabinets had bad water damage . After trying to change rooms and seeing next room offered was worse I stayed in first room. After waking up in the morning I pulled back the cover to get out of bed and noticed blood stains on sheet and matching stain on comforter. The blood wasnt from me or my wife. The blood drops on sheet matched the comforter blood droplets. So this lets me know the comforter and sheets where not changed . After visiting the pool it was covered with bugs sticks and trash. So I went to the jacuzzi and it had a huge black body oil ring around it. This in no way this is 3 star hotel more like a 1 . I have never seen a hotel this dirty, smelly or run down.
Can I just share how disgusted I am by the treatment I received from them after spending close to $10,000 here over the years! YES! $100use 0!!!! I have stayed here for months at a time and it was my favorite hotel until I checked out and was waiting for my boyfriend to pick me up well he had to work late so he couldnt get there till 9pm these people specifically the young asian kid that works there that is super rude and pretendeds like he is management when he is far from it. He forced me to wait OUTSIDE with all my stuff and told me if he wasnt there by 9 I had to push the cart with all of my stuff in it off the property. I mean how dangerous is that? You want me to what go wait at a dirty gas station with all my things since you couldnt wait till he got there. I promise you because of that treatment I will never spend another $1 there after that. Can you understand $10000 just to be told I had to leave the property. If I was the owner I would have fired him because he just cost the hotel another $10000 from me because I used to LOVE that place!
Very clean hotel with great customer service. Unfortunately, the hotel is crowded with kids teens who are obviously there with no good intentions creating a lot of noise. I was assigned a room closest to one of the doors and I would constantly hear people entering and exiting through the day screaming, laughing, and going crazy and was unable to get much sleep since this went on through the night.
Everything you would expect from an Ascend Collection Hotel. Absolutely amazing staff and wonderful environment. The lobby is spacious and inviting with a beautiful life fixture. The bar and cafe are located on this level. Both are decent and fair priced.
There was ceiling-water damage, the couch chair in the room was really stained, the phone wire was stripped and exposed, there was no towel hooks and the bathroom door was unable to be secured. Overall experience was mediocre at best.
Lovely hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are spacious and clean. Plenty of parking. The staff was courteous and efficient. Checking in and out was smooth and quick. Shame there was no real milk for the coffee maker. :-)
I dont review places often but felt strongly enough to warrant it this time. Stayed here for a business trip and found my room as well as the hallways had a thickness to the air which smelled of mildew. My room also had a hole in one of the walls that was clearly covered up by a thin material and then painted over. The A/C also had a peculiar smell to it so I didnt even want to run it during my stay. The actual hotel itself sits literally right next to a major highway so expect constant street noise. Luckily I only had a two night stay, if longer I probably would have found another hotel. Dont let the cost of staying here and the surprisingly highly rated reviews fool you. Would not recommend to anyone.
Hotel is slightly older, but the rooms are nice and decorated in a modern style. Everything is clean and staff are all very polite and helpful.Only thing lacking is a proper fitness center as all they have are a few treadmills and bikes...
Lovely staff up front, insane value for the price (I get discounts via Priceline), there was a big party or wedding upstairs which made for a fun vibe but the noise did not follow us down the hallway to our rooms. I would definitely recommend!
Nicer amenities than most of the other local hotels around. Plus side though is managements strict security standards. I dont have to worry about someone breaking into my car while Im sleeping. My car holds everything I own while on an extended business trip, and its definitely comforting to know I dont have to worry about losing my possessions and left stranded.
The hotel was great. Great centralized location. Clean rooms. Furnishings were modern and up to date. We had a noisey neighbor and the staff promptly took care of the problem. Enjoyed our stay.
Yvette and Juan are super helpful and very courteous overall including housekeeping. Nice rooms and reasonable rates. I stayed in the unrenovated rooms which was nice but the renovated rooms are really nice. Also great that its pet friendly hotel. The only negative is that there is no dog run nearby so I took my dog to a park a couple of streets up. Great value, stylish and very professional staff.
This hotel hands down had got to be my fav in OC CA. The price is awesome as low as $59 a night fot a 3 plus hotel. They have room service even though COVID is in effect. Although the laundry is normally free they dont allow because of COVID. The rooms are spacious. Nice quality with gray tones. The staff here is great. Always in good mood. The maid service comes once a day still. Most dont come because of COVID which doesnt make any sense beings how we need to keep our surroundings extra clean. Overall this is the best spot. Close to Mission Viejo Mall and Laguna Hills Mall. How can you go wrong. 5 stars!!
Carpets are a bit dated. The clientele wasnt that classy. Noise at 2am, someone stole my delivery from Postmates. Not what I expected from Laguna Hills.I rarely give bad reviews but just being honest here. Much of this was just a bad experience, and not the hotels fault. Id probably give it a second chance but its not my first choice now.
One of the best marriotts Ive been to from a value perspective. Staff was very friendly. Hotel seems brand new and clean with very modern rooms. Wide selection at breakfast. Hotel was also very quiet, although I was on the backside of the building.
The customer service is great, Sam at the front desk was a pleasure to work with. The hotel itself, while clean smelled musty and was extremely loud. If you looking to sleep, look somewhere else. The view is of the freeway. They started vacuuming outside our door at 7:30 am. We could not wait to check out.
I think this building used to be some sort of discount motel before its aesthetics were updated. Unfortunately, its internals were not updated as well. The air conditioner in each room is weak and the rain shower is not bad unless youre taller than the hose. Overall I wouldnt stay here
WORST experience at a hotel! Refrigerator didn’t work so my food spoiled, pool area is filthy and full of spiders and obviously webs everywhere, and the ice machines didn’t even work. When I tried to call and speak to a manager about my WEEK long experience there, the front desk said he was “at lunch” and took down my number and promised I would be contacted. It’s been days and still no contact. Super disappointed in the hotel considering the price it is to stay for the week, do yourself a favor and hit the Hilton in Lake Forest.
Horrible experience, booked for four nights, left after one. Upon arrival we noticed several unsavory subjects loitering in the parking lot and a large amount of cars stored with tarps covering them (apparently the owners cars).As soon as we walked in the lobby we were hit with a smell of an unkept fish tank, however there was no visible water fountains or fish tanks. The desk staff were friendly but the cleaning staffed seemed unhappy and inconvenienced and it showed. The halls were very dirty, torn/worn furniture and carpet were in the halls, floors were stained and torn with huge dust bunnies along the baseboards.When we entered the room it didn’t get better. The room smelled very musty, possibly mold and mildew. We had to lay a towel over the drain of the shower due to the rotten egg smell emitting from the drain, it was overwhelming. We all had headaches within an hour of being in the room.Beds were very small, bedding was stained, there was no microwave (appearantly it’s an add on @ $10/night) and room was not well cleaned. Cleaning seemed to be rushed with zero attention to detail.I went to get ice from the machine on the third floor and it was disgusting. Both machines were filthy and unkept. Both were leaking and caused puddles on the floor. There were extension cord plugs in the puddles providing an electrocution hazard.Very unpleasant experience, facility is nothing like the pictures or reviews online. Any updates that were done were done hap hazardly and with no quality control or attention to detail.Visitor beware, do your homework and choose wisely. You get what you pay for.
Stayed only one night. just great! plenty of parking, very cute swimming pool, I mean “cute”. lol. dunkin’ donuts near by, along with other stores and a few gyms.
The Hills Hotel is very nice for the discounted price you can often get it for... The building and infrastructure are VERY dated but the appliances, furnishings, and decor have been upgraded nicely. I get this hotel frequently when I want a nice hotel on a budget. Freeway access is easy.
The hills hotel is easy to find and conveniently located. However, my family has stayed there twice and on both occasions there were significant noise issues. The hills hotel seems to attract teenagers and the issues that come along with them when there is a lack of supervision. The hotel staff at night is less than responsive to any concerns regarding excessive noise and the daytime staff is not much better. If you need a clean, well located place to stay but dont mind sleep deprivation and a hotel staff that is less than capable of performing the basic tasks of hospitality then this is the place for you.
I like this hotel a lot, Ive always had good experiences up until this morning when a older Asian woman did everything in her power to make my experience as miserable as possible. I will not return to this hotel. It could be free, they could pay me 10 bucks and it wouldnt be worth it she was insufferable.
Check out time is noon. A cleaning man came into my room at 10:30am while I was naked and asleep. I called the front desk to complain and the general manager Ronnie Toress told me he would offer me late check out. I had spent all night studying for a huge exam and was exhausted and irritated by the situation. When I told him how upset I was he ensured me that MOST hotel policy’s permit cleaners to enter rooms early. I can’t go back to sleep and I’m furious that I woke up to strange men entering my room. I asked the general manger Ronnie Torres if there was anyone else I could talk to about this creepy hotel policy and he assured me he was of the highest rank. I would need to get in touch with the “investors” to push this matter further. He refused to give me any contact information to file a complaint against him or the hotel. He never once apologized for the traumatic experience and I’m stunned at the poor customer service.
Not as good as I was expecting. Its clean, the room was fair. Weird issues with the staff were the biggest letdown. I checked in on a Sunday, no problems except the tv needed to be fixed. After that, relaxing night, decent sleep. Later the next morn I get two mgr types and a staff member knocking at my door. Their is no one listed staying in this room they say; uh no and here is my confirn# and checkin paperwork I say. They ask me to come down to the desk. When I get there I show them my paperwork and key, to which he replies yes yes we found it. Well terrific then. So why am I here? Well it says you have a no-show charge on your bill for 12-26. Uh, no, I didnt even reserve a room here til the 27th. Well in order to remove it you need to call Priceline. Seriously? Now Im getting irritated. I call PL who does the let me put you on hold thing while I call the hotel. Uh huh, ok. She comes back and says the amount in question was never a no-show fee, its the held charge for incidentals. Yikes. I can think of six or more comprably priced hotels that have their paperwork handling in order. Ah well.
I had a great experience one evening at the Hills Hotel. I was attending a networking event that they were hosting. When I arrived, parking outside was easy and plentiful, and I was greeted at the door and directed to the event. The hotel lobby was beautiful and the hotel staff and those who worked at the event were very kind. I enjoyed my time at the Hills.
Really a nice hotel, contemporary style and close to the 405 highway. Rooms are clean, bright and spacious. The gym is a small room, not really enjoyable. Breakfast is ok. Swimming pool is an enjoyable facility for kids.
Easy to find with enough parking for guests. Location is close enough to gas stations and late night food stops should you have any cravings. Guest services are friendly and are there to assist with your needs. Hotel rooms are spacious with nice amenities.

It’s very over price the rooms are small the decors look old and dirty. And it smells funny like a home for old people. The food was not that great and parking lot is designed difficult to move around I have a large truck .

Be aware. This place offered discounted rates due to covid and not getting normal business. Good for a quick trip but who takes a trip to laguna hills? With that being said... brought in a ton of shady looking people made us feel uncomfortable

Was a vendor at a bridal show held in the crystal ballroom. Huge lovely crystal chandeliers hung in the space. Actually looked like a great place to have a large event. Full bar in the area outside the ballroom. Classic upscale decor. Really nice place.

PROS: Close to I-5 so easy on & off, Starbucks across the street; probably a nice hot breakfast at the hotel (but too pricey for us at $16pp), decent TV (though smaller than the website had said), & VERY comfy beds! New carpet throughout. Clean. No bugs...CONS: Beds were Double-sized, NOT Queen, so you might want to call & confirm if you need to share a Queen! You hear EVERYTHING going down in the hall - and no wonder when you turn your lights out & see the hall light glaring at you from the 1/2-inch gap under your door & around the rim of it! (Isnt that a smoke/fire hazard??) Bathroom remodel is cute, but not so cute when you desperately need towel racks and there ARE none! Nor when the roll of toilet paper falls into & out of your hands & across the floor cause there was nothing to hold it in place!The 5 freeway was right outside our huge windows, so thats all we heard, save for when the A/C would kick on again. The fridge was not cold, nor were our water bottles (stored in it) by morning. There were NO written instructions on how to USE the thermostat in the room! NONE in the entire notebook about the hotel (including their Rooms section), none anywhere, and we sorely needed some! Lastly, we did not use the pool, but sadly noted how incredibly SMALL it is! You wouldnt be able to do laps, & if there are more than 4 people swimming, its going to feel crowded! Lastly, some other guests had really trashed the place in the hallway just beyond the elevator - fast food wrappings & boxes, cups of half-empty drinks, even some BIG chunks of half-eaten cheeseburger! Eew!! So VERY disappointing to have to step over all this the FIRST time, but even over 40 minutes later, after carefully checking out our room, going all the way back to the car for luggage, & coming all the way (a Wedding Party meant we had to park in the nosebleeds) back to our room, we had to carefully avoid the trashy peoples gross mess all over again!
This is my go to hotel when I am in the orange county area. The Hills is just off the freeway, with nice rooms, decent rates, friendly staff, and a pool. If we could only get karaoke going in the lounge, it would be perfect. Thanks for all of the good nights of rest!
Beautiful hotel - it has a nice modern look, very friendly staff, and the food at the café is good. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are a pretty good size. Overall a very nice experience there.
This is one of the worst stays Ive had in a while. We just stayed at the Aryes and it was far better. It had more amenities like a water bottle refill and soap in the bathroom. Just two of the things this place didnt. I was very disappointed.
Nothing worked in the first room. We were also in the wrong type of room, but not their fault. The front desk was very nice and got us moved to a different room the next day. I like that there is plenty of room in the small fridge.
Great decor, nice pool and jacuzzi. The lady at the desk is friendly and helpful. Recommend to anyone visiting south Orange county. My favorite in OC actually. Great parking too.
I thought the atmosphere was good. The rooms were nice. The staff was helpful and courteous. My only complaint was the bed was not comfortable to me. I wouldnt say it was not comfortable in general, but it wasnt for me.
It was a nice and clean lobby, the gentleman behind the front desk was helpful. And a real easy on and off the 5 freeway, gives you the ability to get on the freeway and hit up all the local spots..
Great location for our visits to MV. They have done a lot of work to upgrade this hotel. Its almost there. The trim in the rooms still need work, but I recommend this hotel. Great value and they are really trying to make this a nice place.

Love. Hosted a our annual charity event (for Knots Of Love) here and wow - the venue was great, the service was top notch, food was nice, and guests were commenting on it the whole day. Better hosting service than in the past 10 years of this event at other locations. Thanks Tessa!!!
Very disappointed in our experience. I booked this hotel based on their description of a restaurant and lounge on-site. I booked online and pre-paid through Booking. We arrived and learned the restaurant and lounge are closed on Sunday.The front desk was defensive and non-apologetic when we expressed our surprise at the restaurant being closed. They suggested we should have looked through the website to find information about the restaurant hours.Considering we paid an extra $50 per night to have our 10lb Yorkie with us - we expected a higher level of customer service. Did I expect them to open the restaurant? Of course not! I did, however, expect a better attitude and apology for their own misleading information on their website.I even called before I booked the room to find out their pet policy. I agreed to the $50 to bring my dog. I spoke with Sam and he should have let me know their restaurant and lounge were closed. Their facility did not provide the full amenities listed on their website or Booking/Hotels/Expedia sites.
I didnt expect much from the banquet lunch that we were going to have here. However, it was surprisingly delicious from the high-quality salad to the flavorful chicken and vegetables. Even the ice tea and coffee were yummy.
Close to the highway and friendly service. All the dog rooms smelled like stale pee though. Not worth the price but can see how this was a great hotel in its heyday
Nice place, room was clean. Staff not the friendliest or helpful. Asked for some local knowledge and they were rude and dismissive. Might what work on some retraining of the staff.
Visited the hotel to attend a wedding reception. Exterior of building looks dated, but interior is clean and modern. Rooms are spacious with a modern decor, but does show that the remodeling done to the place was somewhat rushed.
The bar is open from 5:00 to 9:00 you have a restaurant on site for breakfast and lunch and dinner pretty spacious bartender/cook is pretty personable
Im only giving it a 3 star because I was there for testing for my child. I did not stay in a room or eat at the restaurant. I am rating it on what I saw; friendly staff and very clean. I am always looking for new places to have brunch and was shocked I have never heard they offer that here. I have not yet been able to go . But very excited to try it!
Uncomfortable beds/mattresses. Although the lobby is beautifully remolded, the rooms have a distinct odor and have lots of holes/scratches/stains on the walls and the floor. We found ants in our room. If I had to pick the biggest problem, it would be the SUPER uncomfortable mattress in the rooms and the small beds.

The room was bomb. And room service was good. But tHey were doing onstruction on the pool so that kinda sucked... one day when they were doing construction it was literally right outside my window. They were using a jackhammer, like, right outside my hotel window. Even with the TV turned all the way up I could still barely hear what I was watching.
Pet owners beware. The undisclosed pet guest charge per night is $50 per pet. And you are banished to 2-bed rooms at the very end of the hotel in case your pet barks. $50 per night and the worst rooms. Go elsewhere like the Westin 4-star hotels that charge zero for pet guests and superior accommodations.
We were part of a wedding group. We arrived on time to check in, when the manager, a blond lady asked to see the credit card that we charged the room on to run it again. Unfortunately my wife left her card home. We told her the room was paid 3 weeks ago, and she would refuse to accept another card. So I called Uber to go to Tarzana 80 miles away to pick up our credit card from our house keeper and bring it to the hotel. We had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the Uber driver, bless his heart. She also offered us another room for $200 but not our own room. Then after the rest of the party found out about the outrage, she let us go into the grooms room to change but we could not go to our own room that was paid for. We missed the ceremony but finally got to the wedding. Mean while there was another employee gentlemen who told us if you had come to my check-In desk I would have let you in your room. Finally when I presented the credit card to the manager sh took a $30 deposit on it since the room was paid for. That was even more insulting we did all that for $30 deposit. This has never happened to me ever. Worst experience of going to relatives wedding and weekend get away.

Stopped in for lunch. Its lovely enough and a great spot for a quiet breakfast.
Attended a work even in the emerald room. Beautiful banquet room and from what i heard the nicest one that any of our companys groups were in. Food I believe was made on site and with that saidcame out cold and mediocre at absolute best. Service was attentive and friendly.
Attended a bridal show while here. All the staff that worked the hotel were very nice. Restrooms, lobby, event area were all clean and nice as well. Parking easy too.

I have stayed the night in this hotel about 2 years ago and it was a pleasant experience. Tonight I was there for a bday party. The lounge room was great and the service was spot on.
Violet and Ryan should be fired they were so rude. And didn’t help me at all when I just stayed there two days prior these two need to be firing mediately because I would definitely not want them working for my company especially as the receptionist the first people that customer see when they walk in the doors of the hotel for the first time.
Went to a social event being hosted by the hotel. The conference rooms were spacious and the service staff did a great job. Id be more than happy to return to other events being hosted by the venue.
We had a good experience staying at The Hills Hotel. The room was very clean, everything in order and super comfortable beds. All the staff were very courteous.....we will stay again !!!!
Went for their advertised Taco Tuesday in the lounge. The tacos were very small, even for street tacos, and only had one very thin tortilla so they immediately fell apart even though they was very little meat. They had chicken nachos on the menu for $5 but no chips and salsa. When we asked for just chips, we were charged the full nacho price. The service was good but we wont be going back.
Great rooms friendly helpful service . room has refrigerator and safe. bathroom is updated and good. pool looks good although didnt use it.
You can say a lot of good stuff about this hotel: great service, clean, close to the highway and stores. The mediocre thing is the quality of rooms - sometimes it seems like the people building them had no idea what they are doing (overlapping doors, sockets in strange places, not working locks). All in all, had a good time here.
Staff is VERY cold, rude & absolutely the opposite of helpful. Each time I have stayed at the Hills (which has been a handful of times all together), I have had one experience or another, in which I am immensely put out, inconvenienced, and find myself regretting my stay there. I strongly recommend NOT STAYING AT THE HILLS!
Bed was hard, room smelled horrible,tried to open the window they have another set of windows outside you couldnt open. They tried to update but did it poorly with cracks in the grout and a small shower with a half a door that let the water out onto the floor and tiles falling off. Woke up in the morning to find my phone covered in ants, told the front desk, at first the lady just shrugged it off. I said well we are in room...if you want to do something. Tried to make coffee in the morning, the pot leaked We will not stay here again. Expensive and awful.

The staff were all really nice, warm and welcoming.The Hills is a fantastic value for a full-service hotel and has facilities to accommodate weddings and small conferences. There is a very large parking lot and parking close to my room was always available.I ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and picked salads and goodies at the very conveniently located supermarket and restaurants nearby. A nice in-room mini fridge held my drinks and purchases.I enjoyed my stay and returned home relaxed and well rested!Recommended

2023-10-13 01:36:35Over priced. I booked my room for 2 adults, 1 king bed, for 3 nights, months in advance. Got there and they gave me 2 double beds . Went to the front desk to get it fixed, no help. They offered nothing to make it right. The beds were old and uncomfortable. The motel is old, needs to be updated. Photos on line have to be photo shopped some. Thought I was getting a nice room with a king bed in a nice place. Ummmm nope. I’ll stay elsewhere next year.

Room was very good, nothing bad about it. Locations was horrible window view. Did have great service, got 2 free drinks. Nice property overall.

2023-10-20 03:20:05I once stayed here back in 2020 and got bed bugs. We didn’t notice it until we had got home and got all these bug bites. Never again. I remember paying 300 for the room for the weekend. Nice hotel, but don’t be fooled.

My wife and I feel very comfortable and spoiled they are on top of everything and they really go above and beyond to be helpful and with all our needs Thank You to all the staff ❤️

2023-09-13 17:59:44Needs SO much renovation. At least the staff were very friendly. Fair warning about property itself though...not even sure where to start. The climate control doesnt work very well. Showers are designed with a half wall open concept so they leak from where you step into the shower and onto the bathroom standing area so youll use your towels to sop up the mess. The gaps between the bottoms of the doors and hallway are big enough you can hear peoples conversations as they walk by, or, if you are walking in the hallway you can hear people in their rooms. Theyll give you 2 free drink tickets to overlook the slow elevators, worn carpet, and general dirtiness due to the propertys age, but, these are crafted using bottom shelf well liquor (and not much of it) so even that attempt comes up short. They only offer 1 ice machine so if youre not on that floor prepare for an adventure finding that thing. Do yourself a favor and spend your dollars somewhere else until this property undergoes massive renovations.

2023-08-05 18:23:50The Hills Hotel is showing its age. Our room was next to the elevator shaft, and it was very loud all night. AC unit is inches from the bed, so you either freeze that person or have to shut the unit off. Shower ceiling leaks from floor above. Bathroom “door” gets off the tracks. Rotting baseboards. $44 “amenities” fee (2 bottles of water and 2 “free” drinks at the bar). Seems like they just want to funnel people to the lounge. Don’t book through a “3rd party site” because they’ll treat you like a second class citizen. (Tried to recharge us upon check-in because they hadn’t received payment). It’s less than 8 miles to Laguna Beach, but with traffic takes almost 30 minutes to get there.

2023-10-27 23:48:09Rooms are showing their age already, the bathrooms were furnished and trimmed in MDF that is already swollen with water damage. We could see light under the entry door the gap was so big, and we could hear everything in the hall and all freeway noise though the layered single pane windows. Accessibility note, the ramp in the lobby down to the elevators is non-compliant.
