2023-07-26 03:45:06We had the pleasure of visiting Plow & Hook for the first time, and it was an exceptional experience. The food and service were both outstanding. Opting to sit in their charming outdoor section, we arrived around 3:30 pm, allowing us to enjoy their delightful happy hour specials. Heres what we savored: perfectly fried Furikake fries topped with cheese and spices, making them absolutely delicious. The tempura fish tacos had a delightful kick of spice, and the grilled cheese was elevated to cater to more sophisticated adult tastes. My husband opted for the beef sandwich, which had a wonderful balance of sweetness that beautifully complemented the beef. For the finale, we ordered the crepe layered cake which was delicious. Additionally, I mustnt forget to mention the fantastic tea we had, which was both refreshing and delightful on the palate. I was told they use the fuze brand, and Ill definitely be on the lookout for it at my local store.

2022-10-15 18:32:16A great spot for lunch. I had their salmon salad and the salmon was roasted perfectly. The skin was crunchy and the salmon was juicy. The vegetables 🥗 were fresh. The offer a lovely variety of tea, and was in the mood for chai late with a splash of dairy free cream. The service was excellent, warm and welcoming. The menu looked great! Need to stop by again to try other dishes.

2023-09-18 01:49:35We loved everything about our dinner at The Hook and plow. Oysters were sweet! Best seafood chowder I may have ever had, we had steak tartare, split a wedge and the crab cake. I loved my cocktail. Brandon was our waiter and he was perfectly attentive. Lauren, one of the owners stopped by our table to introduce herself and welcome us. Loved the decor. Nice change and feeling for Bend!

2023-03-29 03:47:01This was a wonderful find for me. I came in with a friend who highly recommended The Hook & Plow as a wonderful farm to table restaurant, and it certainly hooked me.I asked for a recommendation for lunch, and I was advised by the staff and my friend that the Prime Steak Sandwich was a hit and that it is a definite must try. I was not disappointed at all, I am a huge fan of sandwiches and this hit the spot. The flavors were complimentary and memorable - I would definitely recommend it to anyone who comes here, and I would definitely have it again when I return.I look forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu. If youre in the area, I definitely recommend a visit. The ambiance is great, close to the beach, plentiful parking, and kind staff. I would recommend this to anyone who is in the area.

2023-10-18 16:33:38This is a burger review- I have had thousands of burgers over my lifetime and I can say the burger from Hook & Plow was the best I have ever had. Burgers can be an afterthought for a kitchen, but not here. It is the main event. They dont throw gimmicks at you with massive size or a boatload of fries. Its a well-crafted sandwich with incredible flavor and texture brought to you but the unique combination of crunchy fried onions, sweet gorgonzola, tangy onion jam and crispy butter lettuce; a perfect mix of sweet and savory. The fries are actually separate, and they too are delicious and not overdone. My mouth is watering just writing this.

2022-01-18 02:52:05We decided to venture to Hermosa Beach for some breakfast and saw that the reviews of this place were pretty good, so we checked it out. It’s located on Pier Ave which during summer months will be really tough to find parking, but we found a spot no problem (thank you winter months). We ordered the oysters (served with a delicious olive oil and micro cilantro which was different and very good), the fish tacos, the clam chowder, the French fries (hold the truffle) and the kale salad. Our server was great. She was very attentive and knew the food prep well. The reason I say that is because I always ask about how salad’s are dressed because I don’t need much dressing on mine… you’d be surprised how many servers don’t get this right. She promised me it was lightly dressed and it sure was! Perfection. 👌We found the fish tacos a little bit dry. The fish is fried and is served on corn tortillas. I think if these tacos were to have a bit more moisture, like maybe a salsa or some pico de gallo, that would help. The French fry sauces were both very tasty; we very much enjoyed the flavors. The clam chowder also had a little different twist to it which we liked too! This is an easy yes when looking for a nice brunch place.

2021-11-16 18:32:56Solid brunch spot in Hermosa Beach with excellent service from Jenay (sp?) She didnt have a name tag, but she was an excellent waitress! Definitely made our experience push to 5 stars. Great energy and spirit! The food portions are large and if you come here for brunch, youll be pleased! Highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits or the Chicken and Waffles. The Shrimps and Grits is definitely decadent with a lot of goodness. A bit greasy, but in a good way that pairs well with some bread. Totally forgot to take a pic though. The Chicken and Waffles are really good too. The waffles are on the denser side and a bit heavy, but works! The chicken was cooked well and had a good crunch. Just good brunch foods! The Furikake Fries are soooo good too. An interesting combo of Japanese meets truffle oil with excellent dipping sauce. Some of the best fries that Ive had!If you want to drink, definitely get a bottle of champagne for $20 and your choice of juice. The mango is divine! A little goes a long way. Also, the Frose is super tasty as well. Cant go wrong with that too!

2023-08-20 00:26:02We had a distracted server today, so that took away from the meal. For me, seems like a limited menu for a Saturday lunch. Tried the grilled cheese sandwich and it was a bit to crunchy for me. My wife had the ahi salad and thought it wasnt anywhere as good as Boas.Might be a good place for an experimental foodie, lots of fancy ingredients in many of their dishes. They would have to expand the menu for us to return. Seems like were not alone in this take as it was more than half empty when we ate there at 1pm on a Saturday.Hope your experience is better than ours and...enjoy!
