This Cafe never fails to impress. I come here late afternoon. There are usually only two people working. I assume their the owners. Again the best Asian food in Dana point. Not my frist time here. Food is always hot!!! Very fresh and terrific. No where I have been makes better shrimp fried rice. Their ingredients including the meat is top notch. This Cafe is extremely clean. They serve quickly . Again we had a great dinner. Their priced with in reason. Its a winner 5 stars from me. Thank you again.

The Little Kitchen Asian Cafe is a cozy establishment tucked away in Dana Point. The atmosphere has a sizzle in the air from the open style kitchen. The service was wonderful. My wife and I were greeted and felt welcome from the moment we walked in. You know the food is going to be excellent when you can smell it from the parking lot. I ordered the Orange chicken, and my wife ordered garlic shrimp. We shared a vegetable fried rice and had fried dumplings for our appetizer. If youre a fan of Asian cuisine, this restaurant is a must try. The proportions are quite large, so make sure you bring your appetite. We will definitely be coming back to taste more from the menu.

Very tasty Asian food. I am typically drawn to sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice, and their versions of these dishes did not disappoint. Yum! The interior of the restaurant is very clean and nice—among the nicest that I have seen for this type of food, and the staff was very friendly. Notwithstanding the excellent dining area, because you are so close to Dana Point Harbor, I recommend getting the food to go, and go eat outside with a view. The prices reflect the impact of our beloved inflation, but they are relatively fair. Check the photos for a better understanding of the view. It’ll make the experience even better.

We had a wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere was great and the staff were courteous, friendly, and attentive. One thing to note for sure is that you need to bring your appetite because the portions are large, fresh, hot, and delicious! I forgot to take a picture of all the food we ordered coz I was busy eating🤣. We ordered Kung Pao, Sesame Chicken, Egg Foo Young, Beef, Kitchen’s Beef, Mongolian Beef, Egg Rolls, Dumplings. You will NOT leave hungry! A definite gem! Thank you for the hospitality! :)

Good Chinese food. Fast service. Only could choose from hot/sour or egg drop soup for a cup. The other soups were only offered in bowl size. Hot/sour and egg drop soups were good. The chicken fried rice was ok, could use a bit more flavor. The beef with vegetables was really delicious. The beef had amazing deep flavor and the vegetables were perfectly cooked adente. They were asparagus, broccoli and sweet peas. Good service and good food. Will return.

The service here was great. The food came out pretty quick. Pictured is the chicken curry, Kung Pao chicken lunch special, and dumplings. The food smelled and tasted delicious. Very please with everything, they even opened 10 minutes early, they had a small crowd waiting already. Pleased with everything, thanks guys.

Flavor? This is your spot. ! I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years. Most of the 5 years I’d just order for take out. My kids and I would picnic at the beach with this yummy food! Always hits the spot. The other day we went for a sunset watch and was not really hungry. We opted to try other places, but other places were bar like type and my kids just didn’t like that vibe. Was too late for a picnic, so we dined in. The food is always spot on. The service and atmosphere feels like you’re visiting family. If you’re coming from the IE, or LA, SD, even N OC, and you’re short on food ideas for the family or a nice date, swing by. You won’t be disappointed. Large portions and full of flavor. Loved the personal touch, loved the wonton soup, excellent amount of wonton, chicken and vegetables. Loved because the server was friendly, personable beyond the how is the food. Asking questions and was polite. Just perfect. (Much better than an entitled server at ChinaMoon). This is in my opinion the best Asian restaurant around here. Love it!

The Little Asian Cafe in Dana Point serves up some tasty dishes. I called in and placed a take-out order over the phone. The young lady on the phone said it would only take about 15-20 minutes.Once I arrived, a gentleman greeted me at the door. I believe he was the business owner. They were still prepping my order when I checked in and I can see the older gentleman cooking the food. It smelled amazing in the restaurant!I paid for my order and, soon enough, my order was ready!When we brought our food back to our hotel, it was still steaming hot and the food was delicious! I’d happily come back to support this business when I’m in the area again!

Great food and awesome service. I see why people rave about this place.We were craving for some Chinese food and decided to Yelp. We saw this one was not far from us and chose to give it a try. They have decent amount of vegetarian/vegan options to choose from which was fantastic. We ordered Kung pao veggies, Hong Kong fried noodles, and pumpkin soup. OMG! The food was incredibly authentic. The pumpkin soup was not something you’d find on Chinese menu but it was delish. Hong Kong fried noodles and Kung Pao veggies are both tasty and just good amount of spiciness. The manager was very chatty and welcoming. He certainly made our experience much better.

I just ordered the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls for delivery through Door Dash. It only took 15 minutes from ordering to being delivered and the food is out of this world! When we crave Chinese/Asian food this is the place. Very flavorful dishes and plenty of food. They are open late so walking in at 9PM isn’t a problem. We’ve never been disappointed and the next day leftovers are just as good. Service is quick and friendly. We come here at least twice a month.

Fast service and good flavors. Great egg rolls. The vegetable curry said it was mild but it was too spicy for me (and the restaurant was very warm inside) so I did not enjoy it. I have been a customer for years, but I recently ordered the Mongolian Beef $18 and found there was very little beef and primarily onions and chives. The beef was sliced very thin (like bacon). I get inflation, but quality and value is number one in the restaurant business. They lost this customer.

Spring rolls do not look like this. Fell apart as soon as i pulled one out of the tray. And this was three, not four I got with two small pieces of shrimp. Orange chicken tastes very overcooked and dry, great sauce with a bite to it though. And the Kung pao tofu was just sauce poured over diced firm tofu and seared veggies. Tofu was not cooked at all.Would not recommend at all.

We have been a little under the weather and truly enjoyed the fresh piping hot egg drop soup.I was concern about dining here after reading some reviews about receiving rude service. I believe its a culture thing not an act of personally being rude. The service was brisk in manor but superior in speed and quality to take care of our needs.We had a lite dinner so I will give an update when we have the opportunity to try more dishes.They did seems to have a busy take out business. I might try to go next time and eat at the harbor.If youre on the fence I say go for it. You wont be disappointed. Bonus they are open to midnight. And I saw they have lunch specials M-F.

I am visiting from St George Utah to Orange county which is really home for me. I am an implant from California to Utah caregiving for my mother. My go-to comfort food is wonderful, fresh, tasty, Chinese food! I had another restaurant in mind that I was going to for years. But Im staying at the local Residence Inn, and they highly recommended the Little Kitchen Asian Cafe. I wanted a variety and more than enough to eat the second day reheating in a toaster oven. My order consist of appetizer fried shrimp, orange zest chicken, combination meat egg foo young, combination fried rice, and the best vegetable was the sauteed green beans and asparagus, honey walnut shrimp. Oh my goodness! The portions were great but the food and the taste was by far superb! first time trying the food on my vacation break and before I head back to Utah I will be revisiting the restaurant once again for takeout. I highly recommend this place if you like good Asian cuisine. Everything was so authentic and fresh ingredients.When Im in Dana Point again which I try to come back home at least once a year. This will be my go-to place.

Place was clean and service was good. We had the cream cheese wontons which were nice. We also had the lettuce cups with tofu. Tofu was sauteed and seasoned well. My husband got the orange chicken which was a little on the overcooked side but the taste and crispness was very good. Also it was a lot of food for the price. The appetizer was a meal in itself. I used to go to a place down the street, locals will know the place, not bad, but why go there when it will cost more and most of the time it is not better than The Little Kitchen. Found this Dana Point treasure about 5 years ago. The Kitchen Beef Spicy is my favorite dish. Served with a hearty portion of delicious beef, perfectly cooked broccoli, and your choice of white or brown rice. Bring your appetite the serving sizes are meant to be shared. The food is decent. Not a place to go if you’re trying to have a conversation with someone though. You’re sitting literally 10 feet away from the kitchen where pots and pans are banging constantly. Dirty dish carts being rolled past you while you eat. And if you back your chair up to get out you will most likely hit the people sitting at the next table. Would be better to call you order in ahead of time and take it home.

PLEASE READ: My wife and i just started throwing up at the same time about 20 minutes after eating their food. I just called and said “i’m not looking for a refund, just letting you know that we have food poisoning…etc” the lady said that i’m wrong and doesn’t have time to talk to me and hung up. He offered a credit or a refund and I took the credit to give them another chance. The female on the phone Rebecca said that I’m wrong and people cannot get sick from food and this has never happened. I said this is very rude for you to go back and forth… she continued to argue and say that we are wrong and they have never had a single complaint. I hate to be the guy that leaves a negative review and I was hoping to remove this post but Rebecca needs to take a Serv safe class and possibly go to a seminar on how to treat customers with respect. I was craving some good Chinese takeout and, since my go-to place went out of business, I decided to try The Little Kitchen. The Yelp reviews looked good, the menu was making my mouth water. I ordered the Kitchens Chicken and Jasmine Tea. They told me 15 minutes and itd be ready. Sure enough, when I got there about 20 minutes later it was ready to go and they waited until I got there to make the tea so that it would be piping hot and not over-steeped. Everything was sooooo good. Huge portions! No Chinese Food Aftermath ...so far. Overall I am a happy camper!

I am very disappointed with this place, not only for the poor quality of the food, but also the fact that after making a mistake, they do not try to fix the mistake. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein for take out, and paid for it ; however after getting home, I noticed that instead of Chicken Chow Mein, they had given me mostly noodles plus maybe 3 Broccolis, and a few mushrooms!!!After calling them to inform them of the mistake, the lady who took my order (Rebeca) did not even offer to correct the order, telling me that they are very busy. This is absolutely inexcusable, and not how a business should treat its customers. In short, they really need to learn public relations, and improve the quality of their food. This will be the last time that I will frequent this restaurant.

I think a lot of people dont know what good Chinese cuisine is (I say that because it was busy with customers). My experience at LKAC was sub-par to say the least. The Hot & Sour Soup was lukewarm and over-thickened with corn starch. The egg rolls were mushy inside, the Kung Pao Chicken was all dark meat and the Mixed Vegetables in Brown Sauce with Tofu was merely meh. The brown rice was not great; its texture signaled itd been sitting for a while and even the fortune cookies were too thick and tasteless. The kitchen could use a lighter hand and pay more attention to its dishes as the food it puts out is dated by about 20 years. Im new to DP and am hoping there are better choices in town.

Awful!! I ordered the curry chicken and was incredibly disappointed to receive Indian curry. There was nothing Chinese about the dish. The chicken and veggies were clearly steamed ahead of time and dropped into the sauce after the fact. They just had that taste. The vegetables were also way over cooked. Also budget fortune cookies.

We used to love this place! Went in today and the older bald Asian Man was absolutely horrible and rude! He encouraged us to order less entrees and kept making comments when we refused! We enjoy taking leftovers home. The place wasn’t even busy!! Located in the center of dana points lantern plaza this is hidden gem. I have had the hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, and black pepper steak and shrimp. They are all equally delicious and the portions are bigger so keep that in mind when ordering as my children normally split an order of the general Tzos chicken and walk away full. I normally order an entree and end up taking half of it home. I think the prices are reasonable and the service is always good.
