Great service. Cant go wrong with deep fried raviolis. Nice quiet place for a visit during the week. Pizza was ready quickly. I think it would have been tastier if we had eaten in house, pizza was just okay. Ranch tastes strongly of mayo. *To the owner: cut with buttermilk, product stretches & less mayo flavor

Ive had a slice of their pizza before but it wasnt right out of the oven.Today I had their slices out of the oven and they are great.A little chewy but the closet Ive tasted for New York style pizza. Crisp outer crust and nice sauce. I will be back for a whole pizza.Highly recommend The Oven.

Heavenly. ohh where do I start? The sauce - Fresh? Definitely. Authentic? The word itself simply doesn’t do this sauce the justice it deserves. It holds that slight acidity and bitter fruitiness of the crushed tomato, but is broken down and hearty enough to embrace an onslaught of toppings if it had to. In the same breath, it’s light enough to be dusted with a touch of herbs and not outshine any of the delicate flavors. It triggers sensations of an old world Italian heritage. In my mind I can actually hear Nona yelling at her nipotini to stop fighting while she slaves over the stove on Sunday.The crust was yet another ode to the old world. Thin but with integrity. Crunchy first and then just resistant enough to the tear before it succumbed to the chew. Finally, a flood of the soft rich yeasty flavor that could’ve stood alone as a masterpiece. Truely a substantial inclusion to the artistry that was this pizza.You can’t beat the fresh mozzarella plopped like islands of goey creaminess, each one blazed over the top just sufficient to coax a bubble or two of char. I’d call it the perfect amount- just enough to ensure each slice got a taste of the goodness, but not so much as to cause the feeling of lethargia and actively clogging arteries.Finally a sprinkle of chopped fresh leaf basil and feta cheese, and an ever so slight drizzle of olive oil to really bring all the flavors together.Add to that a short wait time, excellent service, and a cold beer? I tell you it truely felt like heaven.I told my wife that it’s a pizza worth moving to this side of the country for. I don’t say that lightly. We’ll see if she bites.Thanks again, The Oven. Looking for a New York pizza fix in the area and this looked like a good option. We ordered a large cheese 🍕. It was likely the best you can get around here and was prepared well, cooked well and tasted good. Recommend red pepper flakes, extra Parm and a shake of oregano. Also ordered a meatball sub which was a great value. Three large homemade meatballs on a crispy hoagie roll. Mine was short on cheese so maybe ask for extra if you like it cheesy. Also had them add peppers and onions which were cooked. Since it was a Togo order they put the sauce 🫙 on the side. Good job guys!

We’ve ordered from here before on a Friday night and it was really good. But tonight’s a Thursday and we picked up a half baked horrible rendition of the “mushroom magic” (supposed to have portobello mushrooms too and I’ve been excited to try this one). It sucks when you pay 50 bucks for pizza that leaves you half baked…aka disappointed. I gave it a 3 because the first time we ordered The Tahoe and it was fire 🔥…maybe it was just a lazy night for these chefs..?

We ordered two Meat Lovers Calzones. So good! The sauce comes on the side and when you add this to the Calzones, it is a ticket to flavor town.Dave made our Calzones. Friendly folks. This pizza place is on my must stop and try list if staying in Monterey, Seaside or Sand City.We took ours to go and had a picnic lunch by the ocean.

This pizza was exactly what we wanted. Large slices, bomb toppings, and a great variety of options. We got the Tahoe and the Meat Lovers. Both were awesome! Only downside is that we had to wait 30 minutes for our second pizza after the first one came out because they made us the wrong one first. Overall, we werent even upset about the additional wait because the food was that good.

This is by far the best pizza place in town. I used to love Papa Murphys, but they went out of business a few years back. The new all-star pizza place is The Oven Pizzeria. A lovely small business with a lot of amazing options. The chef is super friendly and theyre up for experimentation. I had an amazing slice inspired by the Superbowl! If youre ever in town looking for a slice, theyre the best bet. Best pizza by the slice in the county.They also have a bar, perfect for your next party.

Went in and had a rough start. The guy in there kept messing up our order when we were trying to place it. Realized it was loud in there and when we back to pick up our order we offered a box and plenty of cheese and napkins. The calzones were so amazing.

Its all about the pie!!! The crust is AMAZING!! Had a west coast and east coast. Both were great, I did favor the west coast. Tried one with sweet peppers, potatoes (yup, potatoes), a chipotle sauce....just so so good! The potatoes were sliced thin, and were crisp from the oven. Never thought I wouldve liked it, but now, I might have troubles order anything else! Kids got the garlic knots, and again, fabulous. You can go wrong trying this place. Its a little small on the inside, but clean with friendly service.

Freezing cold inside this pizzeria. It took a very long time to get our pizza and then it was undercooked. Staff was drowsy and apathetic. Atmosphere is bland with a tiny bar area that was unstaffed. **Took the pizza home and recooked it and it was better.**Dont know why in the cold of winter the back door had to be wide open letting in burst of fridgid air. No management presence so nothing feels like anyone was in charge. When I said it was so cold inside I will wait in the car, the staff looked up and stared at me and went back to their business. Wont be back. Hope they can fix their vibe and the pizza oven.

Im unsure as to what all the fanfare is about. The dough was good, not great. The pizza overall lacked flavor. The mozzarella sticks were just ok too. Salads, way overpriced. My favorite pizza spot in all of Seaside, Ca. This restaurant can’t be beat! They have SOURDOUGH pizza crust and this is a GAME CHANGER. They know what they’re doing and know how to make their customers feel special. Very friendly staff and owner. Rarely have complaints because everything on the menu is delicious. They have great flavor profiles and options for all taste buds. My favorite is the Golden State, west coast style. I’ve never had a pizza with that much flavor and pizzaz. 10/10 I hope they stay around forever.

Ok..A sweet little hole in the wall pizza place.. I ordered the thin crust Primo Supreme.. the crust was fabulous as the toppings. Garlic Knots were good but not very garlicky. My husband ordered the Coast pizza and the crust was very good as well as the toppings. However the best was the Greek salad! The presentation was beautiful and inviting with just the right amount of everything that gave it the burst of flavors it had! The service was ok and the lady at the counter might of just been having a hard day. Its street parking only.. but it was easy to find parking close by.

Said they got really backed up out of no where, which is entirely understandable.Im always impressed by someone coming out to personally correct even very minor problems. Great pizza. From out of town and staying bear by. Found the place on Google and figured wed try it out. Was curious of the sourdough crust and it was better than I thought it would be. My wife and I lived in Monterey for just shy of 3 years. I am a huge pizza fan so naturally I tried a lot of pizza joints in the Monterey area. Were visiting from the LA area and were looking for something simple for dinner, so we decided on pizza. We definitely wanted to check out a local spot and found The Oven on yelp. We ordered 2 pizzas and 2 cannoli. Both pizzas were NY style thin crust. I had the Margherita which was on point. Perfectly sauced and topped, and the crust was crunchy and had the perfect char on the bottom. The cannot were made to order and so good. Definitely would eat here again if were in the area.

I am about to make a bold but true statement: This is the greatest pizza in the entire Monterey Bay/Salinas area. And there is no competition. Californians struggle with east coast pizza: too much bread, too much sauce, not the right flavors, etc. But not these guys. No, they *know* how to make a high quality, east coast slice. All other competitors need not even bother - they’ll never top The Oven.

The best pizzeria! Love love love them. Everything is to perfection and their service is 20/10. I showed up almost 40 minutes after they told me it was ready and they kept my food warm. Very good pizza - choice of West Coast or east coast style crust. We got a west coast style with more east coast ingredients. Some of the West Coast ingredients I am not used to ... Being from the south. But they sounded interesting! Just in case, I wasnt risking a 18 pizza. But after the one I had was so good, I think I would give one A try. Staff was efficient and friendly.

I ordered a large Meat Lovers pizza for my friend and I, which happened to be the pizza of the day, but the same price? I don’t understand what makes it the pizza of the day... anyway, we ordered and waited inside and the cashier was nice and the wait wasn’t too long.The pizza itself was tasty and huge. However, fr some reason, the crust had way too much garlic, that it was hardly edible, and I like garlic. Also, I had a stomach ache afterwards, and this was the only thing I had eaten all day, and I don’t have a sensitive stomach. I don’t live in the area, but if I visit again, I’d look for another place for pizza. This was also the highest-rating pizzeria in the area so maybe we just went on an off-day or maybe we should have ordered something else. no

Not a fantastic meal. Went in to order and was waiting for about 30 minutes in an empty restaurant. The pizzas come out about 10 minutes before the garlic knots so the pizzas were sat getting cold. First time there. Expensive. Garlic. Great sourdough crust. Those were my (3) initial impressions. $39+ for a pizza & some garlic knots is a bit on the pricey side. Someone else wrote that youd better like garlic and now I taste why. The sourdough crust is among the best Ive ever had. The best pizza, the benchmark is the Pizza Factory in Oakhurst, CA. If I could take The Oven Pizzeria crust and use the Oakhurst Pizza Factory toppings Id have a PERFECT pizza. (The Monterey Pizza Factory is not even close to being as good as the one in Oakhurst). The Oven Pizzeria pizza is very good. Ours needed more sauce and a bit more taste. The garlic knots with Ranch dressing were fantastic. The service was quick and friendly. The place was busy. Parking was easy even on a Saturday at 5:00 pm. Glad we were told to try this place. Id definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.

We order the meat-lover-type pizza now every week. Try the different crusts. For our 2nd pie, we are still working our way through the specialty pizzas. They really are spectacular. our first try with The Coast tonight and it was an instant hit with the whole family. Best pizza weve found in the Monterey area. Very casual, family-owned and operated. We generally get take out, and the.ingredients are always very fresh. Thin, but soft crust with just the right amount of crisp. Not terribly greasy, like a lot of places out here. You can see the cooks making your pizza from the dining area.

We had a pizza and a calzone, both were delicious. It was happy hour so I enjoyed a beer from English Ales (on tap)! Everyone there was friendly and made sure we were enjoying it all. This pizza is not what I expected, in a very good way. Normally when a pizza joint does both east and west coast style, they get a sort, jack of all trades, master of none reputation. Not here. They are masters of all things pizza. You absolutely must try this pizza if youre in the area. They deliver, too, and its never a long wait for me, across town.

We ordered a salad and because of my health I need to know the calories on the salad I went to the website because by law they have to have calories aprox in their menu, nothing. So my husband asked if she can tell him how much calories have the salad and in a very rude way she answer she didn’t know and she didn’t mind to ask around or look that information. Is sad that this place is stock with rude people and doing the very minimum because there’s no more efficient people available for the job.

Since I am in Monterey on business travel and ended up dining alone tonight, I decided to have two slices of pizza instead of ordering a whole pie (Id either eat too much or waste more than half). In many previous cases slices have been a disappointment, but here tonight both the cheese and pepperoni slices were excellent. The place is far from fancy, but certainly friendly and comfortable with very good service.

We just ordered pizza, a calzone and some garlic knots for delivery from here. They garlic knots didnt arrive but they offered us a refund. The rest of the food was great, more so the Margherita pizza than the calzone. The pizza had a really nice garlicky flavor we enjoyed. The food arrived on time. The chef/owner lets you know exactly whats going on with constant chatter: Godfather pizza!; Godfather pizza going in the oven!, etc.). When it came out of the oven the room instantly filled with the aroma of authentic New York Style pizza; amazing!The pizza was absolutely fantastic; the crust was thin, crispy on the bottom yet had a great bite when you bit into it and it was lightly dressed around the edge with garlic butter. The sauce and the other ingredients tasted homemade and very fresh. All-in-all, this is the best pizza on the Peninsula and highly recommended.

My partner and i enjoyed our garlic twist first before the pizza. Garluc twist took around 8 minutes to be prepared. Homemade sausages full of flavor made this morning, the peppers were fresh and cooked just right, and the roll was toasted to perfection. For someone who is from the Central Valley, and is not familiar with the Seaside area, DeMarcos made me feel like I have been here all my life. My parents and I walked in and immediately were welcomed into a warm and family friendly atmosphere. The staff were enjoyable company and the food was even better! I had a margarita pizza, and was blown away. Ive had margarita pizzas at numerous places but have never had one as explosive and flavorful as the one from DeMarcos.
