2020-05-30 23:59:05I love this place!!! I live in NYC and have struggled to find good pizza there. Phoenix Pastificio has some of the best pizza I have had in my life. The dough has bits of olives, the combo of cheeses is delectable and savory and melty, and the toppings are plentiful and fresh. I order from here every week because I’m addicted!! The olive baguette is also a dream, and comparable or better than what I have had in France (where my family is from.) All of the cookies are amazing as well, and the macaroons are gluten-friendly and MOIST. Not to mention the PASTA which matches any 3-star Michelin restaurant. The crab-lemon ravioli is my favorite. Once you start coming here, you’ll be a lifelong devotee.

2021-07-01 17:04:20So happy this place stayed strong through the pandemic! Still the best fresh pasta in the east bay, and theyve increased their offerings to a wider variety of cut pasta (shells, penne, rigatoni, etc not just the long pasta styles). Plus pastries and cookies to die for, particularly the pecan chocolatey chewy cookie!

2021-06-30 00:01:25Olive Bread was delicious and just the right amount of kalamata olives. I purchased it in the street market in Berkeley on a Saturday. We were visiting,;the bread lasted for several days and we enjoyed every bit of it. If we visit again Id like to visit the shop. I was researching the credit card transaction to find the business. Solid 5 stars.

2020-03-03 00:35:31I have provided lemons to this place for their lemon pasta for years and this year even gained Privileged Lemon Provider status for the consistent quality and beauty. Bring them anytime and no need to call ahead. I always call anyway and last Friday the nice girl said Monday would be better to bring them in. So I picked lemons Sunday and brought them in today (Monday) being surprised to meet the owner for the first time. Not only did she refuse taking my lemons (being overstocked), she called me a liar for suggesting her employee would have told me Friday to bring some in Monday. And then when I show her my Privileged Provider status, written on the back of my credit slip, she still refuses to take the small amount I had brought in. Not only did she call me a liar but then refuses to honor her businesss agreement without notice. Essentially lying to me! I have felt betrayed and ill since leaving. Hoping that writing my first review anywhere, it would help relieve the nausea. I will be going back one more time to redeem my credit then promptly flushing it down the toilet where this rude womans business belongs. I feel sorry for employees of such a business owner.

2015-03-30 16:32:31I pride myself in baking almost all of my own bread, and thanks to the Tartine bread book, most of the time the bread from our home oven competes with the best bread at the market. However, Phoenix has some secret that makes their olive bread tastier than anything Ive baked or eaten elsewhere. Its simply the best. One day Ill successfully reverse-engineer it, and perhaps my great baking dream will be realized, but until then I am woefully addicted to their farmers market stand.

2017-01-12 03:55:07Almond macaroons. Need I say more? In addition to their subtly flavored pastas, including ravioli as well as fettuccini, Phoenix also makes sweets. If you do not wish to find them at the North Berkeley Farmers Market, just stop by and see them where they make the goods, at the Strawberry Creek Park on Addison Street.

2017-01-12 06:49:28Olive bread and fresh noodles... All I need to eat in life. I got to know the owner a bit when I lived around the corner from this place and hes always gifting me new things to try for free. Love the food, staff, and owners.

2020-07-03 04:43:55This place is the real deal, the best pasta/pastries/olive bread in the Bay Area. If youve found this place, dont bother deciding between here and somewhere else, just eat this food. Trust me, you wont regret it!
