There arent enough superlatives to describe The Pizza Cookery in Granada Hills, but I will start by simply saying that they serve THE BEST pizza in the entire San Fernando Valley hands down!! And if you know anything about what has made The Pizza Cookery legendary in the valley for decades, then you know about the complimentary mouth-watering hot cheesy garlic rolls that are served on every table before you can even place your order. Trust me, these rolls alone are worth going to The Pizza Cookery, but the pizza, salads, pasta, and sandwiches are also the best of the best....all served in plentiful portions by an incredibly friendly and accommodating staff led by GM Jeff. If you enjoy a place like Cheers, where you feel welcome and everybody knows your name, then make The Pizza Cookery your regular stop....I know I do!! 😎👍

This pizzeria offered inside and outside dining. I was greeted when I walked in and seated immediately. They offered bread rolls and our drinks were served promptly. The pizza was delicious. The pepperoni was good, it wasnt evenly distributed but the pizza was delicious and the dough was on point. They offer lunch specials and plenty parking available . Its a family friendly environment and I loved the wall decor. They also offer gluten-free pizza 👍👍

This place is pretty decent for a pizza, especially since pizza in California is pretty bland compared to the rest of the country. The dough tastes very very fresh, and is cooked perfect. I also got the order of French fries, and they were pretty good! A little crispy and they give you a pretty huge portion. I got a medium pizza and it was enough for 2 people to eat twice. If Im ever in the mood for pizza, or some good fries, I definitely know where to go. And the staff is very nice/quick, even when its busy:)

Be still my heart! As brokenhearted as I was at the loss of The Original Pizza Cookery in Thousand Oaks, Im now rejoicing at finding The Pizza Cookery in Granada Hills! Excellent food, flawless service, everything was perfect. My friend and I were treated to super fresh ingredients in our favorite dishes. Our server was excellent with making sure we were happy and our food was exactly as we wanted it to be. I went in with my kids (new in town) and the lady who works there was so rude to my kids because they wanted to change their order. She practically yelled at them. I would’ve walked out but the kids hadn’t eaten lunch and it was already 3 PM. I asked the gentleman what her name was because I wanted to talk to the manager. I didn’t bother, but Maria should learn some customer service!Pizza was good!

The atmosphere is fun and lively. Originally owned by magician Patrick Bell, the decor reflects his years amazing guests. The food is really good, but be careful of the rolls, it is way to easy to fill up on them before your meal. I can almost guarantee you will have multiple take-home boxes.

Great cheesy garlic rolls free with food - theyll keep bringing them if you ask, antipasto salad, and pizza. Nothing fancy, but a great deal.We get the toppings for the salad separate from the lettuce - we take half of them home to add to more lettuce for another meal at home.

Best pizza🍕 in SF Valley! Antipasto Salad 🥗 terrific (house dressing is the bomb and recipe has not changed in 20 years). Typically get a large 🍕 1/2 plain cheese; 1/2 pepperoni & black olive (or mushroom 🍄). Great crust. So flavorful! They use great ingredients especially the cheese. Service is always outstanding. You need Pizza Cookery in your life ❤

Great spot for some nice out of the oven pizza. Service is great, food taste good, and happy hour has some nice options(8pc wings for $5, beers, individual pizzas, etc.). Garlic bread is delicious and complimentary. Parking is free and plenty of it.

It has been years since I was at this location, but we were out running errands and on a random thought all decided to stop in for a late lunch! The food was as good as we all remembered!It was a little more expensive then I recalled, but the lunch special (7 inch personal pizza, salad, and 16oz drink) was more than enough food and even had left overs to take home!For the most part, the customer service was very good. My only issue and why I didnt rate it 5 stars was that an employee could be heard dropping F-bombs in the kitchen area.

Place was cute, everything looked clean. Shavings on the floor kind of threw me off but the pizza was good. Crust was a bit hard, so nobody ate it. The meatlovers pizza, the kids enjoyed but the Southwestern pizza, not so much. Chicken was a bit rubbery. Maybe more cilantro would be nice too. Service was good and it seemed like we saw everyone that worked there as different people kept coming to make sure we were doing okay, brought out the food and took payment. Nice quiet atmosphere. Saw people on their laptops doing work.

This is one of my favorite pizza places. Ive been craving their food ever since I was a kid in high school. Their salads are great, their garlic rolls are epic and their pizza is delicious. I even love their cauliflower crust pizza. Its hard to tell if its cauliflower. Great taste and texture. You need to try this place. Itll become a favorite for you too.

Got the personal pizza deal. Jasmine was my server. She was super nice and very attentive. She was great.I got the lunch special. Personal pizza, salad, drink and some yummy garlic bread knots. What a gem! We found this place on a whim, actually want to eat at the one on Ventura Blvd. only to find out it was closed permanently. The food and the beer is excellent, but what made it extra special were the people. We were actually welcomed and greeted when we first walked in. We chose to sit outside and the waiter was so friendly and helpful. Then, the Manager came out and asked how we liked it! We eat out a lot and that doesnt happen very often. These people are top notch! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. We will be back! Keep the outside tables if you can, we always like to eat outdoors.

We have been going to The Pizza cookery for many years. Used to go on Sundays when our kids were young to enjoy the wonderful food and the Magician. The updated renovations look great. Wonderful memories seeing the playing cards mounted in frames on the walls are a nice touch.Love the Blue Cheese and Walnut salad. The rolls are so good and the pizza is yummy. The staff greets you and actually smiles and says ‘Hello’.What a concept! We’ll be back soon.

Amazing pizza and good atmosphere. The salads are my favorite and check out the different types of sauces they have. Miss the cards on the ceiling but hope the magician makes his way back!!!Revision and another yelp edit. We came on a Friday night.Due to us being traditionalists I wanted to leave a 3 star review. They had completely renovated and changed their whole restaurant. I miss the dark ambiance and all the fun cards all over the walls but unfortunately due to todays codes and standards they were told they had to change their atmosphere. As far as food and service they will always be a 5 star spot. Other than the changed atmosphere their food was beyond amazing like always with the same cooks and the same recipes. When you order a large serving, know your are ordering a catering size large. Our order was massive and were so excited to take home the leftovers! The waiters as always, are very nice and helpful.

Great time with my family! Rose was fantastic, she was very helpful and funny. She really made us feel welcome! There was not enough pizza stands so our table was crowded other than that at was terrific. Been coming to this location since I was a young girl, so to see the renovation was so nice. Its the last Pizza Cookery left!!! A staple for many of us who grew up here. It has been redone and upgraded and looks great. Yes I do miss the the old cards on the ceiling, lol, but the updates are classy. Like the way they left the old pictures of the kids sports teams they sponsored hanging on the wall. Food was great! Pizza tastes the same as it did years ago. Something about those small pepperonis and the cheese is just different enough (better obviously) than even most craft places. But the go to for my family has always been the antipasto salad with the amazing dressing with the roles that no one can copy. I personally love to add the spaghetti and meat sauce and a couple of meatballs to round out a great meal... and left overs for a day...sometimes..

This is a fantastic place for great tasting pizza. The parking is plenty. The service is adequate, but found it lacking smiles. It is fast service and we didnt wait to be seated, thats a positive. The dining area has some cool decorations and the booths have tall back for private style dining. The food was high quality and I have enjoyed their pizzas in the past and plan on doing so in the future.

Nice selection of beers by the bottle and on draft, love they support local breweries as well as having common and unique beers! Their wine-based mojito really hits the spot especially on those warm valley days. Their garlic rolls are addicting and a must try! It is all about those rolls. There used to be a place in Van Nuys called Mikes pizza, very similar, but it went away and we spent a good (bad) decade without those amazing rolls. When we were turned on to this place, it was like finding an old friend you thought was long dead. Pizza is great, meatballs are great, wedding soup is great, but it is all about those rolls.

Im so glad that pizza cookery is still around. Its honestly the only legit pizza place in Granada Hills. The owner And her daughter are very sweet people they will go above and beyond to make sure every single costumer has been properly taken care of. Ive been eating there with my family ever since I could eat regular food as a young child. Infact pizza was my 3rd word after Mom and Dad.The way a pizza dough is spun in the air while preparing it is exactly how our galaxy the Milky Way was formed, yea I can relate Alot of experiences with pizza. We love the antipasto salad. Pizza’s are pretty big, so it makes the table a bit crowded, but they’re still tasty. Old-school style place with cards stuck to the walls and hay on the floor. The benches are a bit stiff, but that’s the only complaint. Definitely recommend. Come hungry, leave happy.

1st things 1st is the atmosphere here, Its just so nice to be in be in. And the wood chippings on the floor that make it easier to clean up for the staff even add their own little hint of personality. However I know most people dont care about the personality of the places they eat at, so lets get right into the food. This place has amazing appetizer bread rolls that they give you for free. I love them to death and I would come here and pay just to eat those. Their warm, their soft, they have a nice cheesy garlic inside, and a great whipped butter that they serve it with. Additionally the other items on their menu are delicious, Im particularly fond of the anti pasta salad with Italian dressing, Its very good. As for the namesake of the Restaurant, The pizza is fantastic. The cheese is great, the pepperoni is amazing, the sausage feels great, and the mushroom is some of the only mushroom that I actually enjoy on a pizza. I think my only complaint about this place is that sometimes the servers can be a bit slow and forgetful, and its kind of hard to get the chili flakes out of their shaker. Additionally they implemented a new rule where you have to ask for parmesan cheese, and a straw (thanks California) which Im not very fond of, however this place is still one of my most favorite places to go for a bite to eat.

While the food here is outstanding, they have absolutely destroyed the charm and ambience that WAS Pizza Cookery.What was rustic and cozy is now best deemed Modern Sterility. I been eating at Woodland Hills and Thousands Oaks for years, but only 2 times at Granada Hills. Ordered 2 small anti pasta salads. These were the worst I ever had eaten, romaine was fresh but so wet with water dressing would not stay on, hard any mordello / cheese. There was plenty of Pepperoni. I had dinner with a friend on Friday night and I was overcharged for something I didn’t order, when I called the restaurant to tell them after a few calls I was told that I was right and that my money would be returned on Monday. When I called to ask if they could just refund the money to my credit card I was told no. I was offered a credit so I could back I could use it, I told who I thought wasthe manager that I really didn’t like the food. When I went to pick up my refund the manager didn’t acknowledge me and when I said I was there to pick up my refund she open the cash register and gave me me refund without saying a word. Never go to the restaurant the manager is rude and they overcharge the customers.

I have visited this restaurant several times and it has not disappointed once. The pizza is wonderful but the highlight of the meal is the bread rolls! I could devour a whole basket by myself, they are garlicky and so buttery. I grew up at this place. Sad to see they are the worst restaurant I have been to so far. Had to serve myself drinks. Family got no service. They didnt have the food we ordered. I use to like this place. I had bad service that day starting by waiting a long time for my order to be taken. At least the food was good. I asked for refills and it took the server about 15 min to give us refills. I had to ask 3 times before they gave us our drinks. It looks like they only had 1 waitress there. Last time I spend a 100 bucks there. I forgot to mention that they never brought us any rolls which my family and I where looking forward on eating.

The family and I had dinner at the Pizza Cookery in Granada Hills last evening. The food first off was totally outstanding. The Pizza was the best I have had in awhile and Im Italian full blooded from NYC.But what really made the evening very special was the magician. He made our dinner so delightful. He performed for about 15 minutes for us and I gotta say it was a real treat to have a magician of his caliber. His magic with cards and coins was out of this world. The magic he did with the rings was totally unbelievable.I appreciate the hard work and the good quality he demonstrated and possesses!I would hire this guy Louis Lave any day of the week!

Worst place we went to pizza cookery so we could enjoy the company & not have to cook. It took 20 mins to get drink order. We said we were ready to order our food but the waiter just left, 20 more mins no drinks so my son went to get them,then waiter come to take food order. 39 mins later someone else comes to tell us there is no soup. So my other son says lets just leave . We stayed then food comes out pasta was watery, pizza finally come out & the meat tasted old. We had to keep getting up for refills. Saw the waiter 3 times maybe. When we left I told the owner & she said they were short on staff. I said that shouldnt be the reason for bad service & bad food. Wont to again. After 20+ years of going we will not again. Not so much as we are sorry it any thing. 1 star is too much for this place.

I think this place looks old, not so good. Waitress are slow and not friendly without mention forgot our pizza, wait about 30 minutes, all others in the group were already eating, while we still with no soda, no rolls, no drink, another table have to share the salad and the soda. Food is below average, little caesar pizza for $5 tastes much better, at least in my opinion and my family said the same, salad are tasteless just lettuce with 3 slices of tomato and some cheese, no dressing or croutons and pasta was horrible. A microwave Alfredo pasta tastes better. The only thing I like was the garlic bread. Place looks dusty, dirty, sad and crowded. I did not like at all. I would give zero stars if I could. Place and food is mediocre. Go anywhere else, I paid a high bill in my opinion that I wish to never step in. I believe I got better service at McDonalds. One napkin in the fork, but not more. Waitress never shows up. We gotta stand up to looks for our needs. Disappointed service.

All the years that my family and I have been coming here, weve never stopped in when the magician was working. We happened to stop in on a Sunday evening when Patrick the magic man was visiting tables. His droll, dry wit and amazing card tricks totally make our evening. Then the food came--my daughter got a meat maniacs dream pizza, my husband pasta with Italian sausage, and I had the cannelloni. Everything was fantastic, and of course, their rolls are to die for. The place is kitchy with sawdust on the floor, funky claw and coin games, and there are playing cards from magicians past stuck to the ceiling. Friendly, good food, reasonable--our kind of place.

This guy Louis Lave the Magician Extraordinaire is the bomb dot com! Seriously! He fricken blew our minds. We are still talking about the card trick he did where the signed card changes color right in fron of us! Then the card vanished from the deck and ends up folded and inside his wallet! What can I say, its the Pizza Cookery that started it all for our family, they delivered, and OMG! at that time they stuck more to the Original Pizza Cookery & they delivered. * this was back in 1994 and we had 4-6 kids in our house to raise & only one income plus child support!
