Actually, way beyond my expectation. I will be honest and say that I was judging this place hard because of the old schopl exterior and the extensive menu. But I was hungry and desperate, so I ordered the tuna kimbapDespite some strong doubts, tuna kimbap hit the spot. It was so good, I had forgot to take a pic of it before being eaten!! The portion was also pretty decent which made me happy as I paid close to $13 for this.4 out of 5 Would eat here again.

I visited after a long time, and I was disappointed to find that the Sea Urchin Roe bibimbap was no longer on the menu. I ordered the Large Jokbal (Pigs Feet), but it was too salty.

This is the worst restaurant ever.The price is high, the ingredients are very sparing, and the food is not even seasoned before serving.Ill never visit again.Do not try here, save your money.

Delicious Galbi Tang, Spicy Pork and LA Galbi! We were disappointed a bit with the Seafood Kalgooksoo and Naengmyun. The kalgooksoo was all noodle and broth, not much seafood! The noodles werent that great.We got bulgogi Kim bap to go and it was the tiniest bit of bulgogi in each one. $10 gets you two rolls though. Its like half cucumber and pickled radish (danmooji).

Blood sausage and intestine plate is a must have . All of their soups are delicious and servers are friendly. Have come here for lunch multiple times and will still continue to get the word out about this secret gem.

There is an obvious favoritism toward older Korean patrons. They tend to hire older Korean waitresses with language barrier and they ignore you if you are non-Korean.

The food was authentic and pretty good but prices are on the high side. They continue to raise prices on a regular basis but everything else is more or less the same. Also some items on the menu are way overpriced!!! The parking here is convenient because they have their own lot.

Ive been coming here for years. This is my #1 place for kimchi stews and other comfort foods and soups. #5 Tuna kimchi stew, and #4 soybean paste soup with Anchovy are my favorite. Theyre amazingly rich and such a satisfying flavor. You can actually taste the ingredients, the fish flavor in the soup is a genius idea. And by the way, their side dish? Unique and delicious, stands out from many other Korean restaurants.They serve a chili pepper crab, served raw, anchovies, and kimchi. Their kimchi is VERY good.After trying out other Korean soup places in Los Angeles. This place is still the best, I am surprised its better than restaurants in Korea town, but it IS.

It seems to be an authentic Korean restaurant. Below is my detailed review on different items:- Service: 3 stars. As other reviews mentioned, staffs seem very busy and it took a long time for everything. However, there is a buzz button on the table. After discovering the button, I was able to get the attention from the staffs easily. It could just be a Korean thing that they tend to leave you alone which I dont mind at all.- Galbi Tang (Short-rib beef soup): 5 stars. Love this soup. Light (compared to other Korean dishes) and refreshing. The beef flavor is perfect that I didnt need to add any seasonings.- Sundubu (Hot tofu soup): 2.5 stars. I ordered the seafood one. I was quite disappointed. The soup was obviously not enough. Seafood quality was low. Places like BCD Tofu House are way better.- Handmade Noodles: 3 stars. I didnt quite understand what would come with the noodles since its not stated on the menu. The staff asked me whether I wanted anchovy or seafood. I said seafood thinking it would be noodles in soup with seafood. It turned out that it was nothing but noodles in soup. Seafood meaning seafood seasoning. I like the texture of the noodles but it tastes just like MSG.- Brown rice: 5 stars. The staff called it brown rice but its the Korean type of mixed rice cooked with beans. It feels authentic.

This place does have decent food, but the service just took a crap. Sad, because weve came here before and had decent service. We walked in told the lady 2 people and put our name on the board and they ignored us. 10 mins later 2 Korean ladies walk in and get seated right away. Pretty sure we just got discriminated... So sad.

Gu Jip, aka The Place is delicious!! Super yum stew/soup entrees. Great for those who appreciates local Korean food. As authentic as you can get with the food (not heavy, stew, side dishes) and people (korean families, grandma, grandpa) here. Plenty of parking in plaza. Expect a wait for lunch or dinner, but not long. Cold noodle opt is the seseme kind. Great place for groups.

My co-workers and I discovered Gu Jip recently and it has become my new favorite Korean in the South Bay. They serve comfort Korean dishes and does an excellent job at it. My favorite so far is the Galbi-tang and Kalbi Jim. ( See my photos).I love the banchans they serve! They serve about 8 different ones during the lunch hours. My favorite is the marinated spicy raw crab. That dish alone is money!The warm egg omelette is good too!The ladies who work here are so nice!The restaurant has a good number of seats and also counter seats as well. There;s a couple smaller private seating near the back.You may have a hard time looking for this place. Its in the Gardena Village. Same plaza as Union Bank, Lollicup, and next door to 501 Music Studio.I cant wait to be back!
