Update May 2023:Had an amazing brie, prosciutto, and fig sandwich from the Preachers Daughter last week. My companion enjoyed her lox crostini greatly as well.I am not a big mustard fan, so I asked if the potato salad was mustardy and the waitress said no. It was, in fact, quite mustardy! But luckily, I can handle Dijon mustard more easily than yellow mustard. If you love mustard, I think youd like that side dish a lot.This was our second time, and we were much more pleased with our dishes this time. Now I just need to actually be there at a decent time for Happy Hour...-------------Lots to like about the decor, quality ingredients, etc. but I was underwhelmed by my BLT and corn soups flavor, and my dining companion found the dressings vinegar overwhelming. Will definitely go again - I look forward to raising that rating!

Played trivia with a group of friends. Fun, but took a while between rounds. Very small place so pretty crowded.Great food! Warm olives were a pleasant surprise. Hummus delight. Goat cheese was fabulous!Great service!

Looking for a pick me up after eating some delicious Italian food, we stopped by The Preschers Daughter to grab a cup of coffee and chu chu board of meats and cheese. The staff was friendly and attentive. Little to no wait to get seated and order our goodies. There was live music to help set the atmosphere of the place. All in all a fun time to be had no alcohol required... But I did partake lol.

I love taking friends and family to The Preachers Daughter. The have great food, good vibes, friendly staff and beautiful interesting art you can admire and/or buy. Cocktails and mocktails are fun, my favorite sandwich is the Farmers Daughter. I have to have one every month or so. And I always have to get an ube bundt cake - soooo yummy and its Purple?!?! They even have board games available to encourage people to hang out - how great is that?

Dont sleep on this place! I love it and the shift give me a salad instead of chips with my sandwich this morning. I will be back I just stopped by to get a pick-me-up for the day LOL. But this is a must go to in Alameda Wireless is very great mimosas are good the Riesling is good! Service is well and very attentive. I will be back. They also have wine tasting here. By the way the food hes amazing the sandwich was off the hook delicious and arugula salad oh my goodness I was going to heaven while I was eating! The Mimosa was delicious to whatever that champagne is they use was so delicious and refreshing.

Just enjoyed a fantastic meal w good company. We split a sandwich and salad, and my puppy was welcomed as well. Thank you for always providing delicious food, excellent wine, and a friendly atmosphere!--------Dog friendly! I love the atmosphere, outdoor seating with heat lamps. Support local! They have great wine selection and food options. I highly recommend buying a bottle and enjoying the time with someone special.

Three stars because the food we ordered was not worth the price – in quality or quantity. Went for dinner so their brunch/lunch offerings may be a better deal. You can find a better place for food in Alameda.

The food was delicious and the server was friendly and attentive. Shared the goat mousse and the farmers daughter sandwich with turkey. Finished with the Ube cupcake. Highly recommend this place. Outdoor seating available under a canopy.

A Hidden Gem for Trivia and Happy HourAs a locally owned business this is a spot definitely worth supporting. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, creating a sense of community among patrons! The wine selection is extensive, offering something for everyone. Trivia night and happy hour are popular events at the bistro, and the bar food is delicious. The bistro also features works by local artists, adding to the unique atmosphere. Overall, its a wonderful spot with a great staff, great vibe and delicious food and drinks, its a must-visit spot in Alameda. The spot is perfect if youre looking for a place for casual gathering, cocktails, coffee, brunch and lunch. Highly recommend!

This is a wonderful, airy and art filled space. They have a wonderful wine selection and experts to help you choose. They have outdoor seating also. The menu is expansive and they have great coffees and cocktails also. Often live music on weekends.

Pure excellence. The coffee was nice and acidic. Although, the star of the show was ultimately the attention to detail, quality of food, and the most amazing server (orange hair and a very kind smile). He gave excellent recommendations and put us in an amazing mood for the rest of the day.

Randomly picked this place as had a hankering for alameda n avocado toast for Sunday breakfast. Wife had starter chicken pate which was good but better for more than one and not a main. Generous portion. Avocado toast was enhanced when suggested to add olive oil. Shout out to delightful server -Maude?- who was so pleasant. She described how place is woman of color owned who hired high school kids to learn about kitchen work. All solids n will go back.

Wanted to try something new coming from out of town and thought this place had a cute vibe for brunch. Food was ok but the wait was really long (30+ min) for a simple omelet (we had actually ordered a scramble instead) and french toast. The staff were friendly and had apologized for the wait halfway through, and I want to be understanding of staffing shortage but also want to be honest with this review for future customers.

Met some GF for a light dinner and wine. Great selection of wines! Ordered a flatbed pizza which was topped with pears, arugula, cheese...very tasty! We also had the goat cheese with sourdough crisps, one with pesto and the other with sun dried tomatoes....again very tasty!!

Super wine and food. Owned and operated by a local Alameda couple. The Bhudda Bowl is amazing. Flatbread pizzas, too! Live local music (Tinker’s Mash bluegrass) today, Sunday was so fun! Dogs welcomed at outdoor seating. And they just got their liquor license so they have great cocktails too! Alameda is so lucky they are here! Check them out.

I am so grateful for this place. The service is outstanding and authentically good. Wines & beers selection is on point and the food is delicious. Quaint little Cafe vibes in the Big city. The outdoor seating is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and attentive. The owner works there as well and is super friendly and easy to talk to! Gotta love a owner who involves themselves in the business. Great wine and beer selection and the food was excellent too. Recommend for multiple tries.

Ive long overlooked a proper review for The Preachers Daughter and after having not been in for a while until yesterday, its high time to do so.The menu has been updated to reflect changes but they have kept some of the original offerings. So, I went to my old favorite, The HMC* sandwich. Never disappointing but now TPD has raised the number of side dishes from two to five.A good selection of wine, my pick or staff recommended I have never been disappointed, Espresso drinks and pastries are of the standard fare and that is no complaint.But here is what really keeps me coming back. I am not particularly demanding when it comes to service, in fact my preference is that it be low key and basic. But I am struck every time that I am in at how staff is genuinely interested and attentive to the wants of their customers and the customers themselves. And not to forget places namesake, her pride in operating a womans and minority owned business is righteous.*(Note to self: Next time in, I must remember to ask what HMC stands for).

I had the pesto grilled cheese with turkey and chips. It was served on chibata bread. They have an excellent selection of wines and beer. They even have different mimosas and cider! They have some desserts, but the highlight is the Ube cupcake. At the time this was written, limited indoor dining is permitted.

Hidden gem in Alameda. People always line up for Oles, but Preachers Daughter is just as good - if not better. They also have an interesting wine selection. Lots of grapes you dont see very often.

YAYYYY! Beautiful and conveniently located restaurant, kind staff, and outdoor parklet seating available. We enjoyed the nutella strawberry croissant and the mushroom empanadas supplied by Javis, as well as specialty lattes (Churro Latte was sweet and cinnamon-y). Grateful for their WiFi, too. Plus, according to their website, We are proud to be a female and minority owned and managed business, and support similar businesses. Looking forward to coming back!

Came in here tonite for my first time and I must say that the food was delicious. Wasnt sure what to expect from the beginning but I was not disappointed. Empanadas are on point along with the cauliflower and chive quiche. Will come back again soon.

Hands down the worst latte Ive had. It was undrinkable, almost as if it had been made with sour milk. Whatever it was, it didnt taste of coffee. And thats not all: the cake I ordered was served fridge-cold. When they asked whether I wanted it warmed up I assumed it would be room temperature!
