Excellent on every level. My husband and I love Creole food but what has held us back from visiting is the fear that we would come across a watered down version. Well this restaurant was not watered down at all. The drinks very nice and strong like I like it! The food was seasoned, the catfish was fried to perfection, the red beans and rice were cooked exactly how I love them, the crawfish biscuit was a pleasant surprise, and the etoufee was amazing! Will be back to try the gumbo, pasta, and everything else…

I was missing southern food and this place hit the spot! I saw it on Google maps and waited about four months before being able to come, and, worth the wait! Definitely try the catfish st Charles. We also had the gumbo, shrimp in lobster sauce, and bread pudding All was amazing!

This is an amazing, authentic Creole food! The live band on Wednesday night was very good and did a great job setting the mood! The frog legs were awesome, as well as the shrimp and grits. I also had the Quarter Catfish. The sauce was out of this world! For dessert I had the bread pudding and oh my! I was so full but kept eating it haha! Overall this is a great place to get some Excellent Creole Cuisine!!

Excellent service and even better food. Had the fried catfish and the quarter catfish. Both were delicious and a good sized portion. The creole cheesecake, praline ice cream, and beignets were amazing. Our waiter Daniel was exceptional. Made the experience even better, especially on our anniversary. Loved the ambience, felt very authentic. Will definitely return.

The best! Ive been here about 4 times now and every single time its always consistent and delicious. The gumbo is my absolute favorite. Drinks are great, desert is also amazing! I love the chocolate tart! Servers are professional and attentive. Great place all around!

Food was good, service was great. But the heartburn later that evening was to die for. I can eat spicy food without any problems. But for whatever reasons last nights dinner was painful. I more than likely will not be returning.

Place was very good. Loved the atmosphere. Cocktails were great, except for a couple. Our last round was subpar. Overall we had 6 cocktails and only 2 were meh (the mule and the berry smash)Staff was super friendly but 2 small comments were kinda weird. The hostess mentioned they really preferred reservations when we came in (when though the place was not busy), but they could still help us. That was kinda odd. And the waiter asked if weve been there before. We said no, then he proceeded to explain how the menu worked... The only thing was that it was a standard menu. Like we havent been here before BUT we have been to restaurants in the past, friend. They werent jerks or sassy about it, it just struck us as weird comments.

Cant remember where I heard about this place but it was on my list of locations to go. We were headed to the Improv and decided to stop her for dinner before the show.It appears a reservation is recommended as our options for seating were limited, so we sat at the counter.Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered drinks, which came out pretty fast. And ordered dinner. I had the Quarter catfish abs she had the shrimp and gritts.The food was overall OK but I wouldnt recommend a far drive to try it. It didnt have ENOUGH creole flavor or season. I expected a really flavorful taste and it was just really bland. The shrimp and gritts were a little better but again could have more flavor. I will say they had a sign up that said they were looking for a chef so maybe that was part of the issue.My only other eye opener was that they boast that this is a black owned restaurant yet I didnt see anyone black working in the establishment at the time we were there, and for ME that was a little odd. Maybe they were off that day, maybe they worked earlier, who knows, but again to not have any black people at a quote black owned restaurant 🤔

This place is a must try. The food is delicious, the drinks are great, the waiters and waitresses are very attentive. It was my first time having frog legs and I have to admit they were delicious. The best day to go is on a Tuesday when they have a band playing. I will definitely be returning here again

The attention you want when you go to have a meal was great. The grits and shrimp, the cat fish pies, with the fried brussel sprouts, were delicious. We ordered the Gumbo, the shrimp and crayfish macaroni, plus, the fried cat fish and red beans and rice. All, the food we shared for my sons birthday. The food was awesome. The service was excellent, and the drinks were exactly what they were suppose to be. We were extremely happy and the mint julep was served in a copper cup as it should be. Please go taste this place out you will be glad you have.

Wow! From the service to the ambience to the food offerings and flavors…all I can say is yummmm and FIVE STARS! We shared a shrimp dip appetizer, my husband had the catfish and I had the salmon, we also shared bread pudding. Everything was prepared, seasoned and presented to perfection. Our drinks were good, too. The owners came by our table to check on us, we are just blown away by their hospitality and look forward to returning to this gem soon.

Decided to try this place for their Tuesday live music night. They charge $15 a person for entertainment in addition to your dining bill. We had 4 people so paid $60 for 1 hour of music. Thats robbery if you ask me. Definitely not worth it. The band started at 7 p.m. and done by 8 p.m. The food was also way overpriced in my opinion and was just ok. We did order fried oysters with a cheese dip as an appetizer and the oysters were bad. They tasted awful. We should have returned them but didnt want to make a big deal about it and I and the kids decided just not to eat them. My husband had 3 of them (he didnt want them thrown out) and was sick during the night. The beet salad was great. Hanger steak was just ok. Not the best cut. My son loved his catfish. It was tasty. And my fried shrimp in lobster sauce over rice was good as well. Cocktail menu is WONDERFUL!!! The Gator Bite with fresh rosemary was so good! The best part of the dinner, though, was the service. It was impeccable. Im sorry I forgot his name as I really wanted to compliment him. He was always there straightening our table, refilling drinks, bringing new silverware and checking on us. All in all we are glad we tried it but probably wont return. If we do, definitely not on Tuesdays $$$$ Our bill was $400

What an amazing gem of a restaurant! The food was incredible, we had the catfish St Charles which was fried catfish with etoufee and it was the best cajun food we have had since our trip to Louisiana. The beignets are flaky like croissants and amazing with coffee. They were so good we went back the next day just for breakfast and coffee.The service was pre-covid excellent. The staff were attentive, fast, and pampered the guests. I miss this level of professionalism from people who definitely love their job.The atmosphere was spot on and really helped make the meal an experience. Highly recommended as a date destination.

Was dying to try this place then the pandemic hit had to wait over a year but man was it worth it! Once you walk through the door you are greeted immediately buy host and management. It was a Tuesday night with live jazz music starting at 7:30. The place was booked with reservations but we were able to get seated in the bar which was comfortable and honestly theres not a bad seat in the joint. We were greeted by a lovely lady with a beautiful smile who started off by offering us cocktails suggested some appetizers and walked us through the menu.I started off by ordering lost on Bourbon Street wonderful authentic cocktail and the bartender pours heavy no complaints.And my special date for the night (my grandmother) ordered coffee and said it was delicious.Appetizer: I believe was a crawfish biscuit absolutely delicious second cocktail was French 75 if you enjoy gin I recommend this cocktail. I did also order an old fashioned but this drink fell short for me. it was lacking in bitters and flavor.Dinner: I had the seafood gumbo I cannot tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this meal bread is served on request my grandmother ordered the catfish we did try each others meals and let me tell you that catfish was one of the best I have ever had in my life the meals were cooked to perfection. Overall we had a very pleasant experience with Wonderful Live music great cocktails and great food.Things that need a little Improvement.Our server was overloaded with tables service was a little slow but when she did come around she was in the moment stares you in the face didnt look around like she was trying to hurry up and get to the next table she gave you her undivided attention and that was wonderful. Ordering cocktails from the bar was very slow sometimes frustrating how long it would take for the cocktails to come out then I noticed that the cocktails were actually being made but nobody was running the drinks from the bar well this is frustrating. its a small place if you see a drink sitting up at the well whos ever free run the drinks to the table. this is a very easy fix. again we were happy with our server.Like I said our server did have a lot of tables and she was working the patio. So when she was busy running food I asked the lady who I believe is one of the managers she wore glasses and had red hair if I could have a cup of coffee I asked her because I knew our server was busy and she was intending people on the patio. what was frustrating about the manager was she just passed my coffee order to our server. So after quite a while of not getting my coffee the red-headed manager had walked by and noticed I still didnt have it and said oh you dont have your coffee yet let me get that for you. Took the manager about 40 seconds and then I had my cup of black coffee. Sometimes as a restaurant manager your job is to relieve the load and pressure help your team out and make it a smooth night.Overall very pleasant experience. on the way out a very lovely lady who I also believe is a manager very tall beautiful light skinned woman had a brief conversation with us hugged my grandmother goodbye and gave me some great info on when I should make a reservation for next time. And there will definitely be a next time Im in love with this place.P.sThank you for supporting the Arts and allowing live musicians to Showcase their art. I know its a sacrifice because you could put four or five tables where they are playing taking up space. We all appreciate you for understanding how important it is to have music in our lives.

The food was delicious. I went specifically for gumbo and it didnt disappointment. Maybe Im mistaken but I was under the impression it was seafood gumbo but it had chicken and sausages in it. Ither way it was great. We also ate the jambalaya which was great. The lemonade and sweet tea gave what it was suppose to give. I wish they sold it by the jug. Heads up there is an automatic 18% gratuity added if you decide to eat at the table. Ill definitely be back.

I loved my first visit to this restaurant. Its not often that you injoy your entire visit from start to finish. My server was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about the menu. Hé was attentive and very pleasent. We enjoyed our food. Everything that we ordered was delicious. They have salt and pepper shakers on the tablet, but there is no need for them. Omg this place is sooo good Im speechless. The manager was so nice and sweet and the food was to die for. Found my new favorite restuarant. My husband even said that this was the best food hes had all year and thats including all the nice restaurants we go to in Hollywood and in LA. Must try their shrimp and grits and if you love mushrooms their truffle mushrooms are extremely delicious. It was so good that I had 4 pieces left and still decided to bring it home.Only thing that was disappointing was I ate so much that I couldnt even order their desserts. Hands down one of the best creole restaurants in the I.E. I came here for Mardi Gras and had a blast! Made reservations for 630 but was called by the restaurant to push it to 645, nbd since I knew it would be busy. My party was seated right away after we checked in. The ambiance and live music was amazing, it truly felt like I was back in NOLA. Chef Norm and his staff did a fantastic job getting the food out piping hot and in a timely manner. Everything we had was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I already have plans to come back!There are a few vegan and GF options and plenty of street parking, including a lot behind the building.

I have been at this restaurant several times. I would come here, after work, and enjoy some Creole cuisine. The meals, that I would order, were delicious. Furthermore, they have a good selection of cocktails and wines. They have a lot of good wines. Especially good are the ones from France. At the same time, the place is not crowded. There is ample of space to sit down, even on the patio. Nevertheless, this restaurant is on the expensive side. So, I would recommend it, only for people, who have extra disposable cash.

Our first visit, I went strictly off the menu and what I ordered read better than it tasted. It was good, it just wasnt what I actually wanted. I received a call from one of the employees from the business stating they had not received my payment.Horrible. We found this gem a year ago while visiting our college student. She loved it so much she asked if we could come back in April for her birthday. I flew from Chicago to take her and her friends out to dinner. We returned in August and to our surprise the staff recognized us. The drinks and food are all delicious and the service is unmatched. We just visited again this weekend and once again the staff welcomed us and appreciated that we always come in when we are in town. Just finished my novel not to long ago yay me 👏🏿👏🏿🎉. There is a portion of my book based in NOLA. So I thought it would be fun to check out this Creole restaurant with my niece yesterday. It was there, that I had my first experience with Colorism. The host let me know we needed reservations and that we could not do same day reservations because they are packed and busy. Which was not true I had a friend of mine call who is Caucasian and she was able to make a reservation based on her name and then I had another friend call shortly after who is Nigerian and Tracy told her she couldnt make a reservation but she can sit her and her family at the first come first serve table at the bar area in an hour. When my niece and I arrived we looked around it was literally 4 people seated in the entire restaurant. But she offered a table to us at the chefs counter. The worse seat in the place because the floor was unstable and my niece and I were sliding all over the place. Luckily the bartender saw and he asked the host Tracy if we can change seats and she allowed us to move. The ⭐⭐ belong to him not the restaurant, he was pleasant and kind to us. The food came out in 6 minutes which was odd to us it was plated beautifully and it was subpar to say the lease. We ordered The Quater Catfish the description of this dish was way better than what was brought out to us. The fish lacked flavor, and it taste more like trout than catfish. The one and only shrimp on the plate was microwave hard. There was no lumps of crab meat more like a few shreds in a bland light brown gravy that was not a butter sauce. There was nothing Creole about the plain white basmati no flavor rice. And the ratatouille was scarce and it was more like al dente style bland sauteed mixed vegetables. Nothing authentic about our meal maybe because they are from LA and not La. Staying was a big mistake on my part. Honestly I didnt want to face the reality that we were to dark, I was to big and clearly we were not the right fit for this restaurant; and looking around Darling it was obvious this was accurate.This was a sad experience my niece and I had to experience so we wont be back but I doubt the owners would even care #paperbagtest we didnt pass 🤷🏾‍♀️. However I have great material I might have to add to my novel 🤔.

Restaurant Review 6-10-22I am writing this review because I am so majorly disappointed with the customer service that I just received at your restaurant. My wife and I drove across town from San Bernardino because your establishment got extremely high remarks from some friends of ours that we know. We got to the restaurant just after 8 o’clock. Just like anyone else would dress casually on a Friday however I felt at receive the most racist and office service that I’ve experienced in the 53 years I’ve been living on the planet. I had no idea that place needed a reservation especially when about a third to nearly half of the tables were empty. We were basically rudely invited to either sit at the bar, or where she had sit by the bathroom. While my wife was standing in front of the hostess station humiliated I made a snap decision to immediately turn around and walk out. Appearances can be quite deceiving; I didn’t feel as though we looked like individuals who should’ve been treated that way, but we’re people of a certain stature and we thought that it was much storage does mean that at least we could’ve received better customer service and a brief but more tactful explanation and we would’ve excepted that. I’m thoroughly disappointed, and usually I can just stomach it and walk away however I feel bad I should warn others to stay away. I don’t think individuals should spend their hard earned money in a place that basically doesn’t understand the basic concepts of how to handle a customer. It’s quite a shame because it’s a recommendation that I would gladly give that I won’t be giving, nor and the sadly meant that I would never go back to.

It is a nice Creole restaurant in downtown area of Claremont! I have been here, several times, in the year of 2021. I would come here on Fridays, after leaving my job. The meals, that I would order, were delicious. There was ample of space to sit down, and enjoy the meals. The waiters were friendly, helpful, and attentive. I could not talk to my partner across the table and we had to try to read each others lips the whole time, as well as read lips of the waitress. Last night, my husband and I went to The Quarter Creole for dinner. My father was from New Orleans, and we went to New Orleans frequently, so Cajun and Creole food is something we had quite often when I was growing up. I’m very suspicious of Cajun and Creole restaurants in California, because they are never authentic, until last night that is. The food at The Quarter Creole, is authentic and excellent. The atmosphere is very pretty and the service matches the food, meaning the service was very good. I had to change our reservation a couple of times, and the hostess was very nice and understanding. Our waitress had a very pleasant personality. This is an expensive restaurant, but I do think it’s well worth it for a special occasion.

Quarter Catfish only had 1 shrimp but otherwise was good. Crawfish etouffee in St Charles was good & fish had good flavor. Portions were good size.Wasnt grandmas cooking but was good overall & I appreciated the lengths they went to with the decor. Staff was nice but wish there was more Black staff. Disappointed to later see reviews about colorism. We didnt have this experience but most of our party was fair skin. Good thing for future guests to be aware of especially given the area.

It seems this place may have a thief amongst them for some years now or they discriminate against those who pay in cash. My 2 sisters and I went to dinner and paid separately. 1 paid in cash and her bill came out to $89. She paid the exact amount. 4 20s 9 1s. An hour after weve gone I get a call from a 323 area code number and its the chef accusing my sister of shorting them $15. But I know what she paid because we teased her for paying in cash and having the exact amount.. I called my sister who was very sure of what she paid. If she had any doubt she would have honestly thought deeper and tried to rectify any mishap. 2 days later (today) I get a voicemail from a woman named Tracy regarding the payment. I call back and explain it must be a mistake. How can she be short $15 when she paid with 20s and 1s. She transfers me to the chef who then tells me a different amount of her bill. He confirmed she paid with 20s. I asked how was she short 15 then so he states a different amount. He proceeds to tell me he will not argue with me. Altogether we paid over $250 for subpar dishes (Over priced and the flavor is lacking, the seafood gave off a clay/old dry lipstick taste) and 3 drinks. We may have been too loud discussing the flavor and offended someone I thought but after reading yelp reviews from 2019 this has happened more than once with cash paying customers! Safe to say we will never return and definitely do NOT recommend!!

We came for lunch. Very quick, got a table right away and service was excellent. The food was very flavorful and beautiful on the plate. We ordered popcorn shrimp and a grilled shrimp po boy and a fried catfish po boy. Definitely would love to come for dinner and try dessert!

My family and I went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. The ambiance was very nice. Really looked like one of New Orleans restaurants in Louisiana. Our waitress was Kathryn 5 stars to her. Short answer: Good.Long answer: We ate family style, (I wasnt expecting this) our hostess made arrangements for us to served several courses; Shrimp Grits, 2 salads (tomato basil & a garlic something or another), then a chicken or fish dish, both Cajun style, served over a bed of rice and cheesecake, or sorbet or bread pudding for dessert.1st off, let me preface this by telling you Im an EXTREMELY picky eater. I really shy away from textures, colors and squishy, mushy foods which look unappealing to me. To my detriment I know, I miss out on a lot of stuff, but most times, I just cant get past this...but I digress.I made a point not to eat a lot at a BBQ we went to earlier in the day because I was really looking forward to this restaurant, the wife & I love NOLA and the food. Anyway, being served stuff I didnt order myself turns me off, and last night was no exception. Im telling you this, because surprisingly, I pushed through and really enjoyed just about everything.I had small portions, mostly because of my squeamish, unnatural paranoia of tastes, texture and smells, but went back and had a 2nd helping of just about everything. It was delicious! The other thing, even though I ate pretty small portions, I was full at the end of the meal.Im glad I rationed myself because I was able to sample every dish. The flavors were bold (I cant think of a better description of it), and literally each bite I experienced a separate and exciting flavor.BOTTOM LINE: Going back. I wanna order some things an see what else they got!Sorry for the long winded explanation, but this is probably the 1st place Ive been to that I believe you just gotta explain the experience.

WOW. We have been to NOLA several times and eaten at some of the best Creole restaurants in the area. The Quarter could take any of them on. We had four different entrees plus a dessert. All were great. Their portions are huge and most entrees can easily be shared. It has just moved up to one of our favorite Claremont restaurants.

Excellent and authentic Louisiana cuisine! From the first taste I was back in Pineville, Louisiana and where my grandfather was the chef at Louisiana college for 30 years. We came here to celebrate my cousins Birthday. There are plenty of options to choose from the menu, however for me since Im allergic to shrimp and now apparently any type of shellfish Im limited to a small amount to order from the menu. (I really need to go get an allergy test) Everyone, and I do mean everyone in our party ordered something with shrimp or lobster, or pork. (Im fine with pork lol, its my sister thats allergic to pork lol) So I was not able to sample not one dish lol, horrible. Well, I ordered the Hanger Steak. It sat on some garlic sweet potatoes, with ratatouille and a medium steak. This was actually very delicious. I would have preferred less sweet potatoes and more ratatouille and I usually complain about veggies. I was able to rotate my dish around to the whole table so they can try it and they all loved it as well. I couldnt leave without getting dessert so I got a Creole Cheesecake Oliver and a Bread Pudding with Bourbon Sauce for the table to share. The Birthday girl got her own dessert but we still shared with her. Both desserts were delicious but the best one was the cheesecake. Now since Im getting older and more sensitive, goodness I hate this I ended up with hives by the end of the meal lol. Man that really sucked. But despite that I wouldnt mind coming back, just maybe probably with some medication on hand lol. Oh and service was excellent!!!

Perfect place for a nice dinner with friends, date night, family, or yourself. Not loud, nice ambience, fine quality food. I was skeptical at first because of the short dinner menu and they dont have a liquor license so just wine but after debating for 10 min and asking 3 waiters for their opinion I got the quarter catfish and a stella cidre. ( they each all told me to stick with this selection my first time and i cant go wrong btw) Glad I stuck with this because it was delish! Filling but not overstuffed. Staff super friendly. Loved the atmosphere. Perfect creole touch and I know creole. Im from the dirty. Cant wait to go back and try the chicken. Hopefully I have the same great experience. Glad I didnt leave!

If Creole is what youre dying for then this is the place to go. My history goes back to Norms days in LA almost 10 years ago as the Cajun Chef. His restaurant was the spot. Fast forward and hes back with the same great food.I was so thankful when I learned the Quarter opened and immediately went to see Norm and his lovely wife Tracey. The ambiance is top-notch, service excellent and the coup de gras is the food is so good you want to take every bite of it. Try it once and youll be back - I guarantee.
