We had an amazing dinner in April 2023 and were mesmerized by the beauty of the property. We enjoyed a dinner at the Stonehouse terrace overlooking the beautiful surroundings!The menu offered enough variety and all dishes tasted delicious. With the desserts I tasted the best ice cream in my life, a scoop of mint-chip with fresh mint from the garden.Last but not least I want to give a shout-out to the servers. All of you were on top of their game and made our night here extra special!! We already look forward to our next visit! :)

Our party booked the Sunday champagne brunch and we were blown away with the beauty, food and service.For brunch our group thought that the crab cake, sea bass, steak and lemon tart stood out with flavor and texture.The service was wonderful and we did not feel rushed - we were able to pace courses out and take our time to enjoy the conversations at our table.I highly recommend walking through the gardens after a meal - you’ll see some of the most beautiful gardens - and you might spot a celeb (as we did)! The whole resort looks like a fairytale.

After reading tons of reviews and seeing a common thread about how wonderful the Stonehouse was, I made some reservations for dinner and have to say... it DID NOT disappoint! The location has wonderful history, fabulous atmosphere and the staff is incredible! The menu and wine list are impeccable leading to one amazing evening! The best part of our trip to Santa Barbara was our evening at San Ysidro Ranch!

We loved the ambiance, the food, the overall experience. We had dinner on the patio and the weather was perfect at 5pm on a mid June weekday. The bread service was excellent (I loved the little muffins they brought out, had a mochi-like consistency). Things that I enjoyed:- calamari- beet and burrata salad- pork chop (might have been the best pork chop I’ve had… most places don’t do a good pork chop so I rarely ever get it)The halibut was a miss - texture wasn’t bad but it was bland and had no flavor.Overall a great experience. Be sure to check out the grounds after dinner.

This is simply a very high end, gourmet restaurant with wonderful ambiance, amazing service, and 5 star food. The grounds surrounding the restaurant is breathtakingly beautiful, and you should come early to take a stroll around the gardens to take it all in. We came here for a special Thanksgiving dinner, and were very grateful indeed. Pricey to be sure, but for that special occasion, well worth it.

One of my top 3 favorite restaurants in the Santa Barbara area. Nestled in the foothills is this amazing stone faced gem. The service is impeccable and the cuisine Chef Matt is serving is five star and beyond. The views are breathtaking and the different dining options are very nice. Visit their website to make a reservation or simply call. The Stonehouse has that old school class and charm that makes you feel like your spoiling yourself and you deserve it.

We visited for lunch and loved it. All the food we had was 10/10 - and there was loads more we wanted to try. All the servers were great and the view is stunning. We were worried it would feel “too formal” even for lunch, but it wasn’t and would come here regularly if we could! We also would love to try for dinner - the outside would be very romantic and inside super cozy!

This is not my first time dining here. I was surprised by how crowded it was. Also, I did not like my dinner; the oyster came with onions and tomatoes. I would prefer this on the side. The bread basket came after 20 minutes; the main course was tasteless no flavor at all. I try one piece, and that’s all. Not worth it. The place is charging, and I would go back for drinks and give it another chance. Maybe it was the day I remembered another dinner’s been really good.

Gorgeous surroundings! Nestled in the hills of Montecito. The staff is so accommodating and they don’t rush you through your meal. I ordered Jack Rose at the bar- it’s a smoky cocktail that’s totally worth the $35 that I spent on it. I took a gf here for here Birthday and they made sure to make her feel special! She ordered the Halibut and I ordered the Short Ribs. The Oysters were decadent!!This item that is not on the menu, but I BEG you to order is Venison carpaccio. Coffee crusted and delicious!

If only the food lived up to their service or the setting. Honestly, Ive had more flavorful meals at Claim Jumper. Is this restaurant gorgeous? Yes. The service good? Great! Even the Valet was incredible. I had the pork chop which was 7/10 although the pickled veggies was a great touch.

Beautiful property and decor. Attentive service too - however, I found the breakfast mediocre. It was a small menu and executed less than perfectly. Got eggs wrong - our eggs over medium came out with runny white and completely liquid yolks. The juice order never came out. Our breakfast at Mar Monte the previous morning was done much better.

Wow is all I can say. From the time you pull up at the valet, to the beautiful views of the restaurant, and the pleasant and accommodating staff, the Stone House truly is an actual five star restaurant. Four of us enjoyed the Sunday brunch. Spectacular. We were concerned it would be a little stuffy with the Kennedys and all the hoopla surrounding the San ysida ranch. There was nothing stuffy or presumptious about the place. Warm, inviting and just downright delicious food and great drinks. You must schedule an hour to walk around in the beautiful gardens after dining there. We were visiting Santa Barbara from Tampa for 44 days and the San ysidro ranch was one of our favorites. Keep up the great work and well see you next July.

Delicious Sunday brunch, with loads of choices! The crab cake was delicious, the Parmesan crusted fish was excellent, and the apple crisp dessert was a wonderful finishing touch. Service was exceptional as one would expect. The price of $100 per person is not cheap, but the view all the way to the Channel Islands almost made up for it.

What a wonderful place! The service the hospitality was from beginning to end. I was even given it to another seller which Im a big fan of wine and really appreciate it. Wow. Amazing place to grab some locally sourced food. I have never had abalone and decided to give it a try. The texture was new to me, and I didnt care for it. However, the flavor was amazing! I also ordered the parmesean crusted halibut. Tasty!!!The atmosphere is romantic. The service is great. The food is amazing.You pay for everything as it is expensive. You get what you pay for. Great food, mediocre service. This is a really beautiful place and everything we ate and drank was delicious. But they really missed the mark on some basic service, like serving a steak with no steak knife and promising simple things that never came to the table until we asked 10+ minutes later. Also had a really unpleasant interaction with the valet who we watched open the door for the last guests but not for us, for some reason. Its unfortunate, but these simple mistakes really soured what could have been a great experience.

The Stonehouse is special, but its charm comes at a cost. It deserves its reputation for excellent food and professional service. But it has become eyewatering(ly) expensive, as our resent anniversary dinner visit illustrated. First the many positives. The SYR property is simply stunning. The resort looks almost unnaturally landscaped and beautiful. This winters heavy rained breathed new life into Santa Barbaras flora and fauna. The SYR is almost breathtaking. The Stonehouse dining terrace is comfortable, features a memorable ocean view, and is a wonderful venue for any special occasion. As for Trey our server, what a pro. Well informed, attentive and friendly. You expect A+ service in this setting and at these prices. And Trey delivered. As did his support team. Water glasses remained filled, and plates were cleared crisply and professionally. The meal, while very good, dropped the ball a bit as the sea bass was well prepared but bland. My wifes John Dory was much better. That said, the yellow tail crudo, peach salad, and a couple desserts were all interesting and tasty. On the negative side, my duty as a reviewer here is to set expectations, and diners must be prepared for about $200 per person including drinks. Im not whining. We knew going in that the SYR and Stonehouse are known for exclusive pricing. Two cocktails, two glasses of wine, one after dinner drink, and a coffee added $144 to our tab. Thats resort pricing at its very finest. My wife and I indulge in a nice meal out now and then, but were afraid that despite its many many charms, The Stonehouse has priced us out of the market.

Several of us were privileged to have been brought here by our host while on vacation and it was the most amazing place. I felt like I was in a fairytale. We sat outside in perfect weather and the food and wine were stellar. The service was fantastic and you cant beat dining outside among the beautiful California flora and fauna with twinkle lights. The wine and spirit menus are over the top. Make sure you walk around and see the other dining areas.I am still pinching myself -- making sure I wasnt dreaming about such an experience.

I tried resolving this by emailing the restaurant directly to chat about our experience, but our email has gone completely unanswered (though they had no issue whatsoever responding to our initial email requesting a reservation within literally 10 minutes). Below is my email to the restaurant detailing our more than disappointing experience at Stonehouse on our wedding night:Yesterday evening my husband and I came to dine at Stonehouse to celebrate our wedding earlier in the day. We were extremely excited to visit Stonehouse but were ultimately sorely disappointed in the experience we were provided.After being sat, we largely felt neglected as guests and did not receive the level of service we would have anticipated from such a well regarded restaurant. Our waiter, Richard, neither introduced himself to us by name or offered to walk us through the menu. We consider this to be a standard at all dining establishments, let alone for this particular fine dining restaurant. From there, it was a full 45 minutes before we had even received our drinks.It was very noticeable to us that our service in particular was slow. We watched as other diners were being checked on consistently, were receiving beverages and their meals, or were otherwise being engaged with. In truth, it nearly felt targeted.Small things were missed, such as never having received refills on our water, which went completely empty. We were disappointed further when my husbands steak arrived and it was not seared on all sides.Overall, we felt it important to share with the team that this was a rather disappointing experience for an occasion we were very much looking forward to experiencing at The Stonehouse Restaurant for months.

Dinner with these prices is a big splurge for us, but in the case of the Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch, we both agreed it was well worth it. The ambiance is unparalleled. Its one of the most beautiful restaurants weve ever seen. I had the house rosé, which is a special blend created for SYR by a local winery. It was so delicious, that even at $20 a glass, I had a second glass. I also ordered the Margherita Flatbread starter. It was quite a large portion - more than enough for dinner. The true star of the show, though, was my husbands starter - the Slow-Braised Venison Agnolotti. With shaved truffles and morel mushrooms (his favorite), it was truly one of the best dishes weve ever tried anywhere. The total for 2 starters, 2 glasses of rosé, a Stella Artois for the hubby, and tip came to about $150. For an experience like this, it was worth every penny. One note - only valet parking is available, but its complimentary when you dine here.

Such an experience!My only regret is that it was a cold December evening that I ate there and even then, they made sure we were comfortable. Every single dish or drink I had was absolutely amazing. I had the filet mignion and my boyfriend had the salmon. Both were amazing! At the end of the meal, we were tempted with a soufflé and some Irish coffee so we decided to indulge and were met with a sweet note on the plate. All in all, its a very worth while experience just be prepared for a bigger than usual bill (about 300$ for a dinner for 2!) Worth it! Also, please walk around the history filled premises if you can!

This was our first visit after the tragic mudslides. The ranch is looking great! We had an outstanding evening from champagne in the parlor to scallops and steak diane on the patio! This is more than just a delicious restaurant, its an extraordinary dining experience. The Ysidro ranch property and the views from the restaurant are breath taking. Every single staff member is genuinely kind and pleasant. We ordered the gazpacho, two appetizers, entres, and dessert.... every single bit was incredible. You can taste the freshness of the garden sourced vegetables in the sauces and sides. I am certainly not a food critic and might not have the right words for it, but every item had a flavor that was unique in the best way possible, but not too unique that it took away from the dish. The setting is gorgeous. Typically the food is delicious, but last night my halibut was overdone (unforgivable given the cost). The service was TOO intense. By this I mean the team of 3-4 never stopped hovering. We ordered drinks and dinner all at the same time and specifically asked for some time to enjoy the cocktails. The drinks came out and 1 minute later the appetizers arrived! The servers are older and very experienced and maybe that accounts for their Im so bored with you attitude.
