This place was pretty good. I didnt go with the recommendations, so I might have done it to myself. My wife had the pastrami sandwich, which was awesome. I had the Italian grinder which was average. The potato salad was also average. I recommend trying the chicken salad sandwich or the pastrami. The staff was super friendly and tje environment was also pretty cool.

I had googled gourmet sandwiches near me and found this spot tucked away near Mission Inn...the owner and staff greeted us with a warm friendly smile! The food was delicious! Between our guests we had the pastrami sandwich with a bowl of chili (recommended by the owner), turkey and avocado on squaw, ham and avocado on squaw both of which were accompanied with a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup! All of which were DELICIOUS!! I would definitely recommend and I will be visiting again soon!

Here is the good and the bad, A little family owned sandwich shop. The owner greted us very nice man and nice atmosphere. I ordered the full pastrami sandwich on a French roll, and an order of chili.The sandwich was absolutely delicious they did a great job. The chili was also amazing it had chunks of meat and even corn in it was delicious.Now as to my concern was the size of the sandwiches vrs the price. We ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 softdrinks and total was over $45.00. I posted the picture of the sandwich with my hand in the photo so you can reference the size of the sandwich. The sandwich was very small with very little meat in it. After paying 45.00 for lunch and still leaving hungry was tough. I cant even imagine ordering the half sandwich. I dont know if this is something many people can afford to do for a lunch.Great tasting food, understand inflation, just not the best value!

This place is easily one of Riversides biggest secrets. The Upper Crust offers incredible homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts 7 days a week.I had the pastrami sandwich on a french roll with potato salad and carrot sticks. I wasnt sure if Id like the potato salad since Im not typically a fan and the owner didnt hesitate to offer me a sample to see if I liked it. I took a bite and was wowed by how delicious it was! It was fantastic, and thats saying a lot coming from me. They then told me they make it in-house fresh daily, along with the french rolls and other goodies.While I waited I chatted with the people who run the place and discovered theyve been serving up sandwiches here for 20 years! When my sandwich came out it was presented beautifully, and served with a smile. The pastrami itself was hot, juicy and full of flavor. The french roll was unexpectedly soft, fluffy and melded to the meat with melted cheese.Everything I had here oozed with tender love and care and the people inside were great. I cant wait to come back tomorrow after the Mission Inn and try more of their scrumptious sandwiches!

Small joint but exceeded my expectations. They’ve got a special (not sure if it’s an everyday thing) where you can get a half sandwich with a side of soup. Sufficient portions of each for only $13. The owner is so sweet and makes sure you have everything you need. Will definitely be coming back again. (Try the chili and broccoli/cheddar soup!!)

I very rarely leave reviews, but this spot is fantastic. If you like dad jokes and amazing sandwiches, come here! We had the veggie sandwich and the egg salad sandwich and I could eat it every day. Loved the pasta salad and coleslaw as well. Very unique and fresh.

This is my absolute favorite hole in the wall sandwich shop. Its family owned and operated and the family is genuinely lovely. The sandwiches are delicious with a homey touch that slightly reminds you of childhood. The soups are also delicious as well as their potato salad. Id give 6 stars if I could.

I dont know where to start. This place right off the back gets 5 stars. All the workers were nice and attentive. The shop was welcoming and clean. The owner Cary was so nice. All the workers had smiles on there face. I will be back GUARANTEE. Now lets get into the pastries the cookies and brownies were super good and soft 10 OUT OF 10. Located in the plaza close to the Mission Inn in Riverside, this place was a surprise. It is small inside, not much seating area, but there were tables outside to enjoy the beautiful surroundings if you choose. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I chose the Italian Sub and had it on a toasted sourdough bread! It was DELICIOUS. I will definitely go back again, worth the trip if your in the area.

For years I walked past this spot always meaning to try it, but I never actually went. That was until yesterday when I just need a break from a busy Saturday. The owner ( I think he was) was an absolute pleasure to speak with (the entire staff was kind) and gave me the best recommendation to such a great tasting sandwich. The pastrami on a croissant with everything. Just a half was so filling and I was excited to have the rest for dinner. For something sweet I had their chocolate chip cookies that were so lite. Definitely making that a weekly spot.

Absolutely fantastic service from Ritha, I believe her name was and I also think she said was the owner. We had never been here before and she patiently walked us through everything and was so helpful and sweet. All the sides are phenomenal cannot go wrong with any of it. My boyfriend got the turkey and ham which was delicious, and I got what she recommended which was the chicken salad on squaw bread and it was to die for! Spent a day in Riverside on business and loved the suggestion for this sandwich shop. The attendants were super helpful and their suggestions were spot on. The owner Cary is awesome not only did we receive the best customer service from him but he greeted my wife and I like we we’re family. This is our very first visit to this deli and as far as I’m concerned the only deli you should ever eat at. This food tastes like it was made with people that have smiles on there faces, cause it was. Simply put the food was simple and wonderful. Fresh bread stuffed with lean meat (pastrami) with all the fixings. A soup that is made on Wednesdays topped with crunchy yummy croutons... So good.. they even brought my dog water in a bowl. Whenever I find an excuse to be on that side of town Ill be back to try the Italian and snag a bowl of soup to go.

The sandwiches were delicious, with fresh cut tomatoes and crisp iceberg lettuce. Delicious! After my disappointment at Butches, I sought out something better and boy did Upper Crust nail it! The owner Wretha was very welcoming and the way she interacted with the young student customers was refreshing. A big fan of Pastrami, I ordered theirs along with the poblano chowder and it all was very delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh, the cheese was melted perfectly on top of the meat and every bite had me looking forward to the next. With a cozy outside patio area, all five senses are addressed and pleased. I look forward to coming back in the future, thank you and keep up the good work!

Upper crust is good for a quick lunch. You can get a lunch combo with half of a sandwich and a soup for $8.75. Free refills on drinks. Shared bathroom that you have to get a key for. Limited seating. Owner is very friendly. They also have fresh-baked desserts.

Awful. Egg salad was tasteless, warm, and gooey. Sourdough was dry as dust. Lettuce was wilted. My husband ordered a turkey on wheat which fell apart as he ate it. And he used both hands. On December 28, 2018 Lynn and I Rode our Rad Power Bikes from Redlands, CA to Riverside, CA on Santa Ana River Trail. Arrived at Upper Crust for lunch before 14.6 mile return trip. Since Ive been taking classes at FSF, Ive been to this place many times.Oik Yak salad with tri tip is my go to dish, no fried noodles, dressing on the side. Its a little pricey with the extra Tripp, but worth it I think. Its good for my low-crab diet.Theyre usually fast with my food. Yum, I think Im having this for dinner tonight.

I ordered Grill Cheese sandwich and was very disappointed. They used Kraft Cheese on a small piece of bread. When it was served I noticed the cheese was not even melted. I asked if they can melt it some more. They smashed the bread to speed up the process so when I got it my sandwich was flat. I dont plan on going back. It even tasted horrible.

Terrible food. Ordered Italian sub. Bread was like 3 day old grocery store reject. Next to no meat and wilted greens. Mac salad was grocery store item. Dont waste your time or money.
